I am new to the game. Been here perhaps 3 days now, reached level 22. In the 3 days I have been here, I have not seen a single word spoken in any form of chat, from noone. Not a single verb, noun or pronoun!
A game with 100% no chatting and 100% no parties. I am saddened.
I invited a friend of mine to join in the "fun" but he does not know the current state of the server, which is one gigantic graveyard, with noone but ghosts floating about apparently.
Anyone have a guild I can join that has more than 1 member in it? It appears that the vast majority of the gamers left in L2 are at or near level cap. You high level players seem to have forgotten that low lvl players new to the game, can use some help from some of you!
I left Aion recently due to an apparent backlash from the existing players. The high lvls there feel there is no need to help any new players since the new players have not spent money like the older players have done over time. Sad. In Lineage 2, there just seems to be noone around. Not anywhere. Is there any hope for new players in Lineage 2 to actually have fun? I am unsure if there is ANY hope at all. Plz discuss. :(:(:(
P.S. Since I am in the Eastern Standard Time zone, I chose Bartz server...and I wonder if that was a mistake?
3 days and u still lv22? 4 days I was 85, u rly doing something wrong o_O; Anyway. The real game begin on lv85. Do the quests dude, in 3h doing quests u will be lv 40+
Are you kidding me? It took me 3 DAYS of questing just to get to lvl 22. I have no or almost no gear, and finally i am at a smashing 28k of in game currency. Cant buy nothing to improve upon myself. I am now stuck with killing something in a lvl 18 dungeon, Labyrinth or something, need to get past an electric field that kills me VERY quickly.
How can you get to lvl 85 in 3 days legit? You cant. I dont cheat, dont bot, dont multibox. I play the game as intended. Anyone else other than botters in this game able to help new and legit players?
Haha don't let the other guy's post worry you. You can level as fast or as slow as you want. It is true that there is now more content past 85 but this doesn't mean that you will never get a party below that level. What town are you in right now? You should really go to Gludio because there you can get into Kama parties...which are instant raid bosses basically. You will have difficulty finding parties below I'd say 60 but they are out there!
Sorry for the double post but I just saw the one you posted before me and you should look into the Path to Awakening on the website...it gives you free gear through all your levels till 85. Also when you changed classes at 20 you should have gotten free gear from your race master back in Talking Island.
I am level 22. How can a new player GET to lvl 60s in the state the game is in? No party play? What is the point of an MMO if there are no parties to join? How can a lvl 22 even JOIN a lvl 60 party and benefit?!
Wow 2 posts, and so far, epic fail.
Anyone ELSE able to assist a new player to the game?
P.S. There are NO PARTIES to join, and noone is even talking. Someone plz join Bartz server and help revitalize it, before new players such as myself end up simply leaving....
I have not even done that yet. As you can see, I am new, and need some help. I am on Bartz server. So, some help as in the in-game kind of help would be nice from someone....
Lol I'm just trying to help you man but if you are going to take it like that then why should I bother? I didn't say that there are no parties below 60 I said its hard to get parties below 60 but if you go to the town of Gludio there are parties there for lvl 20s Kama. I still don't understand why you have no gear though because you should have gone through the quests when starting and at the end you switch your class..what race and class are you right now?
I need more information if I am going to help you but you snap at me one more time and I won't.
I am dark elf, and am going to go the Assassin route with bow and dagger.
I am still on Talking Island. Still trying to finish a lvl 18 quest at char lvl 22. Still solo in an MMO and I am alarmed at the fact its a ghost town, and even more alarmed at the fact the high lvl players seem to have forgotten what it was like to BE low level... >.<
You should read what the quest description tells you to do. You do not have to pass the electric field but kill the mobs that try to approach the NPC that's with you.
Apart from that, doing the quests from 1-20 took me about 90 minutes when i returned to L2 after 6 years of absence, getting from 20-40 another 4 or 5 hours. On alts, when you actually know what you have to do, you can do it A LOT quicker. Legit.
As Shayleigh already said, you get all the gear you need to progress ingame either as a quest reward or from this site: http://truly-free.lineage2.com/path
Ok, i just noticed your threat. Do me a favour and dont help, I dont need help from elitists. I need help from real gamers, thankyou, now take your elitist mindset out of my thread.
Thankyou for the assistance Flaminghomer. How is a new player even supposed to know to go to that site to claim free gear as you progress?
So I got a free hat. I would enjoy someone to actually play with and if you all tell me to solo, then again I will ask, what is the point of solo play in a Massively Multiplayer Online game?
I am looking for real, legit-minded players that have not forgotten what it was like to be NEW to something...

Ouch man I was just trying to help you out and you insult me. I'm not an elitist...I mean I haven't even become awakened yet and I felt as though the first guy that responded to you was really harsh so I was just trying to give you some helpful advise but you obviously did not want to take it from me.
I'm sorry about my "threat" but its true...I don't want to deal with people that I try to help who insult me instead...so yes I will get out of your thread but I doubt you will be happy with Lineage II the way you are acting so I suggest you just quit now.
HolyOx, you mean this game is meant for dumb ppl that bot, probably like yourself.
NEXT! Who is interested in making a new char on Bartz server form some fun party play? Noone is in a party on that server for the past 3 days that has been LESS than lvl 80, so cmon ppl. Who wants to make a new char?
the fun starts at 90+, if u want a teacher go to private server.
if u cant read the dialogue box that appears when u start ur **** toon, that means u have problems and anyone who try to help u, ll get mad cos u cant play.
ps: i hate free/private players that used to play private **** and come here talking ****
No quitting here, not yet. I will see just how awful the community here is first before I decide to stay or go. So far, its Legit Gamers = 0, Elitists = 1. Not a good sign so far.
So who would like to actually PLAY as the game was intended and not rush, and do some party play? Do real gamers even exist in Lineage 2 or are you all elitists and botters and have forgotten how online games are supposed to work?
Cant chase me out yet, so I see 2 botters, and one elitist has responded to this thread.
If anything, you threee should hit the road and leave. People like yourselves only drag a good game like Lineage 2 down the drain.
Anyone up for making a new char on Bartz for some real party play? You know, play the game as it was intended? Any REAL gamers left in L2 or are you all posers?
Any character can't talk in public chat until level 20. This decision has been made to limit the text spam from levle 1 characters. It is written in the News & Announcements section, if you read it you would figure it out. That's why you don't see anyone talking
The game have 99 level, and the xp curve is exponential. The 1-40 part is in fact a big tutorial about game mechanics, skills, characters and race. That's why it's easy to level up 40 in one day without any help, anything and for a total newcomer. How could you do that ? Read the next point
There are a lot of text, arrows, marks ingame which can help you. When you spawn, you have a cinematic showing you a guy to go and speak. By following the quest line provided, you will be lvl 20 easily (and yes there is a part where going into the room would kill you, but in fact the NPC is telling you not to come, and there is a big white screen messasge telling you to kill ennemies). IF you continue such quests by readgin them and understanding what you shoul do, you will be guided up to level 40.
You come here and insult anyone giving you advice. Don't be surprised to only collect trash. It's not because are doing something more efficient that you that they are cheating or boting, you are not the one doing the proper stuff here. People are elitist ? No, we just are using our brains while playing and reading messages
Have fun, here on Lineage II or on any other game I don't care

I'll assume at my own risk that you are not trolling here.
Lineage 2 is not a game like others around, you will need to read and ask a lot to progress and get things done. From NPCs, from the official page, from boards here and in other pages. If you think you dont want to do it...well i think is better you go to play other games.
Clearly you have no read at all what the in game tutorial and Quest NPCs have said to you, and that's the reason you are lost and unable to pass as easy thing as this electric field.
About people in game, I dont know about the sitation in Bartz at this moment. I'm playing in Shilen and leveling two new toons and yes there were no people in the starting zones and quests, that make these things a lot faster and easier to do. Really i'm playing 1or 2 hours a day and got levels 75 and 58 in a week more or less. Well i know what to do but all is in these boards and in the official site and following the standard directions the game give to you. (Tutorial, Quest NPCs, messages both in chat channel and voice).
The real Lineage MMO starts at level 85, as has been said in other posts, players get there so quick. Get the gatekeepers just to explore a bit and go Aden, Rune, Shuttgard, Goddard,... and you will see the players and when you get 50+ (in 4/5 hours as a newbie if you play as the game needs to be played) you will start to get some parties to do Kamalokas and when you will get 85 you will get parties to play all the time.
I simply jumped into Lineage 2 as a new player, and am stuck trying to do a lvl 18 quest by myself, which I am unable to do at lvl 22. There is noone ingame to actually game with, so how am I supposed to learn anything if I am playing alone? Again, most of you have forgotten what it is like to be NEW to something.
So again I will ask. Would someone like to make a new character on Bartz server and join in on some party play? Telling someone new to solo to lvl 60 is assinine dont you think? And no, I am not trolling! I am actually asking for some ingame party play help, and it appears noone plays in a party in Lineage 2 anymore? Am I wrong? If so, make a new char on Bartz, and tell me your ingame name. I am calling on REAL and friendly ppl to actually play in a party, what is wrong with that?!

And what if I tell you that a party will not help you ?
The task you should do don't need a party, and you can't do this quest in party. What will you ask so ? You have to figure it by yourself. Forums are here to ask your question. Guides on the internet are here too. But most important of all, read the text ingame. I will tell you a cool story bro : my little brother is 11 years old, and learned english since two years. He is not good at it so, I mean he can say his age, his name, the color of the sky and use one of two sentence. But he figured by himself with the text "kill ennemies" that he had to kill NPC coming, and when the npc said "DON'T COME" he understood he don't have to go in the room
I am at Start of Fate quest right now, and my char lvl is 22. I keep dying at the end where the electical field is. I did all my quests up to that point, and am now stuck. You can go ahead and laugh all you like at me, that does not change the fact that I would appreciate a party to actually join. You know, and actually play in a party, and you know, actually progress....IN a party?
Oh wow, I have read ALL the quests up to this point. So perhaps I am correct in thinking that both Aion and Lineage 2 is filled with elitists, cheaters, and the kind of offal you toss away once you prepare your chicken for roasting? Like cmon community. Is there anyone left that actually plays the game as it was intended?
And what if I tell you that a party will not help you ?

Well, may be you can read previous post. Being in a party will not help you. Not doing this quest means you will not transfer to 1st class. Therefore you won't have the new skills, and nobody want to party with you :P
HolyOx your link you posted, just like your thoughts, lead to nowhere. Dont need that kind of help from anyone thanks.

Laby so you are telling me the quest I am on, is supposed to be run solo? A little clarity plz...
Yup, I thought my previous post where clear about it but not really. This quest is solo. You are perfectly able to do it solo at level 18 with no stuff as long as you don't go in the lighting room, just stay in the corridor and wait the NPC kill the device
So this is how an elitist community responds to a new player eh?
New player: Any parties for a lvl 22 around?
ELitist: bleep yourself you noob bleeptard! You gotz no skillz and no brainz!
New Player: All I was looking for was a party to join or perhaps someone that has knowledge of the game to ask questions to?
Elitist: Learn to readz!!!!1111oneone
New Player: Yes, I will learn to not read nor listen to elistist trash, and simply wait for REAL players to offer real assistance.
...sad state this game is in, since this is exactly the kind of response I got from you level capped or near level capped players. Shame.

LABY! At last some REAL advice. Okay, I will try to do just that. That was my mistake, was actually entering the room and dying to the electricity. Thankyou.
As for the rest of the posters in this thread, shame on you! I was looking for some help and I GOT some, its just a shame I need to alt-tab from the game to post a thread here, and then argue with morons just to get a question answered. Then again, forums usually are filled with trash, and only a few good ppl actually answer with coherent and precise and correct information. Telling someone to read the same crap he has read before is one thing ok...listening to someone that has a question that needs an answer takes real skill, and some of you have none!

If you were read all the quests up to this point yo will have passed the electric field at level 18, you will have got your first profession change and equipment D-Grade at level 20 and at level 22 you will be hunting around Gludio probably in the Windmill Hills following the Sakum chain quests that will drive you with no efforts till your second profession change in a question of very few hours.
As much you post more i tend to think= this guy is just trolling. Can't believe what you are saying, sorry.
Lucie yer trolling not me. Laby actually gave me some information that I needed. The more you all react to a simply request for help like this, the more shame you bring to not only yourselves, but to NCsoft and Lineage 2. Aion has a massive player base for now, but if they behave like the community here in Lineage 2, I sense the same thing happening in perhaps a year or two with Aion. Wise up all, some ppl need to actually just offer an answer to a simple question.
And where are the REAL mentor's and mentee's in this game? Do they even exist as well? Yes yes there is an NPC for Mentor Management, I will go there eventually, but are there any real players left? Or are you all just living in your own bubble and could give a flyingfux over anyone new to the game?
I never said anything about an instance. I know exactly what that is. Where did that come from? I simply asked why there are no parties for lvl 20 + players? I simply asked what was the lvl 18 quest I am on and stuck at for some helpful pointers? Wow.
do yourself a favour and stop playing this game ... L2 is still a "grinder" .. hard and though and often disapointing .. many ppl dont like that and thats ok, but some do.
Anthare, you telling me it is impossible for someone to have a problem with a quest? Make a new char on Bartz, and come witness it, and you will believe it. I am not trolling, I am honestly stuck. For you to say OMGZORS you suck since you cant even do a lvl 18 quest at lvl 22? Give your head a shake, you want proof, make a new char Anthare, see me on Bartz on Talking Island.
Unfortunately i'm playing in Shillen and cant offer mentor to you, but if Bartz is at similar stages than Shillen (Bartz is a bit younger) probably it will be easy to get Mentor as soon as you reach lvl 40 (Its not possible before if i'm not wrong), just go Aden or any other mid/high level town and look at general chat.
Harkon I am a grinder myself, I like that part about MMOs. The lack of party play is troubling so far, and this assinine response to someone seeking some assistance is totally and absolutely bizaare.
I never said anything about an instance. I know exactly what that is. Where did that come from? I simply asked why there are no parties for lvl 20 + players? I simply asked what was the lvl 18 quest I am on and stuck at for some helpful pointers? Wow.
You failed to recognize the lv 18 quest as an instance, and therefore you kept asking for parties to complete it.
There are solo and group instances - learn how to recognize them before making the same mistake over and over again.

No i'm not saying this. Really i died in the electric field the first time i did this quest but it was just because i was in a hurry and not read what the NPC said. Went back, read and pice of cake. (I'm not a "pro" i'm really the opposite, i dont mind to recognize it).
The answers you get in this threat, may be are not instant useful for the problem you got. But they are telling you things. Lineage 2 is not as other games, there is some need to put effort (work, some times boring, some times out of game) to face challenges here, people is used to work to get things done.
I understand that you dont know what happens with the game right now. Till level 85 when GoD (the new and real Lineage 2) starts you will be playing let me say a "training" it will cost you more (in terms of time played) than to level a toon to max in any other game around and when you get there you will have to forget all you have learned in the way about your character and start to learn a new one and work a lot more harder. But you will got, again if you put some effort on it, the basic Knowledge to start to play GoD (former Lineage 2)
NCSoft made a path to get to awakening to make it in may be a couple of months for a new medium player (Some people will flame me to say this is that long). This path is going through what was the game for more than seven years, its basically a solo path, you can group of course but it is going to be difficult to find players to do it, because people rush it.
Thats the very basic of the game right now. this is the way is intended to play 1-85 almost solo 85+ the MMO starts.
You said you were having trouble doing that first class change quest. What you need to do is kill the mobs while your NPC helper disables the electric field. I've seen a few new people have problems understanding this part actually so you are not alone. You need to protect the dude from the mobs coming towards him NOT go into the room while the field is on. Once he has disabled the electric field you can go through to the boss.
As for speed of leveling I followed the starting quests and I can do the questline from 1-20 with the newbie helper NPC buffs in 30 minutes to an hour. It gears as you do the quests with no-grade gear. After you finish that you can still get buffs from the newbie helper NPC in town and there is a new quest line you can follow to 40 that takes about 2-3 hours. I find when I use a high level buffer I can do 1-40 in around 3 hours.
The reason that there aren't parties until around level 61 is because until that time you can get a level in an hour or two if you have a mentor (something you can get at 40) and the quests as I said above level you to 40 in 1 night's worth of causal play. Once you get to level 61 it becomes slightly slower to level so you aren't moving around so much trying to find a place to hunt. It's hard to hunt in one place with a party for hours when you out level the area in a few hours. This was not always the case. Lineage 2 changed a lot with GoD, back in November, and now 1-85 is fairly easy because they want to power people through it to the new content which is all 85+. A casual player can probably solo 1-85 in a week or two playing a few hours each night and making sure to get a mentor who will be logged in for buffs and the XP bonus. You can get a mentor at 40 and while they are logged in you receive good buffs and 200% bonus XP.
Money at lower levels was nerfed because people were using the high amounts of quest rewards at lower levels to gain adena to sell. You get free gear from the quests 1-18 which gives you a weapon, armor, and jewery no-grade which you can use in the class change instance. Then after you class change you get 40 of a item you can use to trade for a full set of D-Grade gear. I recomend you don't get a D-Grade weapon because the quest you do next gives you a top D weapon at level 24. use the extra tokens to get D-grade shots for once you get your weapon though. Using soul/spirit shots is key to leveling fast.
For one, I died my first try at the lvl 18 quest and was not realizing it was MEANT to be solo'ed since parties cant be formed till lvl 20 + I believe.
You all assume that players must be pro by the 3rd day they play a game?
Only one that gave me any assistance in this thread, was Laby! In my opinion, Laby is also the only real gamer in this thread that actually helps other people.
Laby, thanks for the tip, I was able to complete my lvl 18 solo quest with your simple suggestions.
Now for the rest of you. Pull your heads out of your *****. ANYONE that plays a game for three days, is NOT a dam pro at the game he is playing!
@ Caliaa the poster above me...thankyou as well. Your short post has answered other questions I had, so you did a pre-emptive strike with your post, good one! :) ...and now I just read your advice to me not to get a D-grade weapon, which of course I did. No matter, I never rush any game I play so I bet the weapon I have now will help no matter the short time I have to perhaps use it.
@ Anthare: ahhhhh so its a different type of sliding scale for time vs xp gained in L2. I am coming up to speed slowly, and eventually I will be able to help other new players to this game. Its a great game, and if I am going to help with the new Bartz server with helping others, I will learn the game more in-depth over some time.
TY to a few ppl in this thread that have integrity. No ty to the rest, your help is best left in the garbage.
