I wanna know the position of ncsoft. I dont know if it is from the chronicle or if it is a bug, but what is the point of having an alliance?
AoE skills hits allies and the most important: sieges loosing exp. Why should i have an ally if i cant help them defending their castles without loosing exp or cant help them on pvp cuz we keep hitting each other on AoE skills?
And before ppl start saying "stop crying about exp", if you are not 96+ u cant say that. We exp like a ****** to get 5% a day and loose 10 on a siege.
If we are not supposed to make an alliance why do we have this option? -.-
There are lots of "useless" things in game. What good is formal wear? Just because you can't find a use to your benefit doesn't mean no one else can.

No one said you weren't supposed to, you were complaining that it doesn't benefit you or them so then the logical thing would be to break it if you don't like it.
Regardless of discussion about loosing exp of non registered ppl on siege field....
To Topic.
Ally in current L2 is just :
- bigger crest ;)
- next tab in chat (mostly to rise drama!)
No any in game mechanic to support ally as organization.
Most annoying is : all debuff / AoE attacks land during PvP at allies like at just random player.
In past OL had ally buff .... but it gone :(
If it would be implemented "Ally buff" something like Clan leader buff that would be cool.
Something like:
If all clans are +/- 1 lvl from eachother and all 3 CL are logged +1 % P def / M def to all members.
I think even that would make some reason to make ally ...
Ofc perfect would be re-assign some buffs to be ally range and change (at least debuffs!) effect on allies ...
Leave the xp loss alone, this is a carebear point, so -> to trash bin.
Now the real problem he`s talking about is really exists, there are no friendly relations between the allies, once you`re flagged or in a combat zone, they are treated as enemies. On top of all you can even declare war on your allies wth.
Absolutely no benefit besides the ally chat and dram (lol?) >>

That's what I said... if you have to ask what good is the ally feature than all you can do with your ally is to make your crest bigger.
No need to explain, you won't understand.
You're really going to try to justify this as a time when someone started the game even if it's true, LMFAO. Sace what is the actually percentage of forums users compared to in game users. I am guessing less than 10 percent.
They scary part is that normally less than 5% of the user base takes time to "frequent" social areas like these forums.
As people have said before, the OP has a problem because they own their own castle and want to help their alliance to keep THEIR castle.
As a castle owner, you cannot sign to attack or defend another clan's castle allied or otherwise. and as you aren't signed, you have no alliance with anyone on the siege ground, hence you can attack any other player including your alliance.
Personally, I think this is a good idea, it stops clan A from zerging/sieging a castle with their main clan, walking the alliance clan leader in and giving them the castle.
As someone also said, if you don't like the mechanics of the siege, then don't go.
If you don't want an XP loss on the siege ground, don't go unsigned.
The interesting part is that there is no NCSOFT position on this topic or maybe it was given in another thread. Would be interesting to see what they say but it is a bit hard to search by key word for this topic :)
My point of view is that indeed it is ridiculous that when you go in combat zone u get agro from ur ally, u debuff ur ally, u kill ur ally :)
There is something terribly wrong with the ally concept :)
Anyway it has been like this for an year already. Don`t expect anything to change as noone cares about anything else but l2 store updates :D
Merry Christmas and get ready with ur credit cards if u need a Christmas hat!
