Weapon choice on Aeore Healer

Aeore Healer Started Last reply 11 posts
Hello ppl
What would you think its best on 1 vs 1 pvp for healer: 1 handed magic sword + sigil or a 2 handed weapon?
I ask this because when doing 1 on 1 pvp there's not much need for mp regen or that slight heal bonus, so maybe the extra matk the retributer has would give some more advantage than the sigil?

Post your opinion, thanks :)
yes 2H wepons sure does give more M.atk damage
1H does less M.atk damage but does improve healing if u combine it with a sigil

but R-grade robe sets gives healing power, Sigil gives healing power, if ur in a good clan with all clan skills u wil have divine power = improve healing power

all these small healing powers does sure help in pvp once u start healing ur self
so yes i like 1H

and FYI Aeore healer is support isnt meant for pvp
ofc there are moments where u have to defend ur self but imo u stay mostly behind a party and heal them
I was thinking more on olympiads, or even when a random pvp shows up when im alone. I have both weapons already because of my feoh sub so i didnt even have to buy it or anything.

On partys i always use 1 handed wep + sigil of course

Your asking in the wrong forums bro, but i myself had/having the same dilema. Most of the people here (Probably 90%) have no idea what they are saying but you can ponder this.

Specter buster has 23 or 33 matack less then the retributer (Say 1/2k matack on your charcter?) and a shield has chance to block magic damage with "x%" chance, I don't remember what it is but I was actually going to test it for this reason.

If you block even 25 of 250 nukes that adds up. Some1 doing 2k a nuke with retributer and that person blocks 25 attacks its 450k damage. (250x2k = 500k - 25x2k = 50k)

Or some1 who does alittle less damage (Lower matack obviously) that's never blocked say 1.85k damage x250 nukes = 462.5k damage.

In theory it works on paper and you should have the advantage with a shield but I really dont recall what the block rate is with shields. For physical damage it seems quite high on a tank, or healer but afaik magic damage isnt blocked as easily :(

Hope that helps. Above theory is a 10% magic block rate ;o
Use S grade duals
Use S grade duals

good for pve xD
not that good for pvp since matk is low and stuff ;(
I would never take a Sigil for pvp, when shields still block. If you are worried about losing that + to your heals, just give yourself Sustain (whatever level you may have). Blunts are crit dmg and swords are crit rate, so use a magic sword and crit on your heals more (in theory).
I had the exact same dilemma as you not so long ago, and I must admit I still havent made a decision but here is what I thought:

If you need a weapon for oly mostly, 7 out of 8 classes will attack you "physically" so a little extra pdef could come in handy...
On the other hand, you can easily lose a match by lesser damage made, if you cant kill your opponent. This has happened to me more than once :'(

On self buff/oly buff the pdef difference of sigil is ~50-60 on robe, ~80 on heavy on my stats (if I remember well...can't log in atm to check). The matk difference between caster and retributer is ~800-1000 (on my stats again). What I dont know is how much more dmg does that extra matk mean on an actual target...

For out-of-oly solo pvp I would wear a sigil for sure, because DDs on full buff can make criticals that are hard to outheal, so the more pdef I have, the better. For oly I still can't decide >.>

Interesting idea with the shield, it would be nice to see an actual test with physical/magical block rate of shield on a healer :)

Looking forward to seeing more opinions on this :)
+4 magic sword gives 1 to magical critical rate... Pretty poor bonus in my opinion :/ And yet I broke 2 Apo Busters trying to OE them! :(
In pve, if I were an aeore and considering Heal power/speed is not really dependent on c/speed I would try a sword+HP with sigil.

Would make up for hp loss using heavy over robes in tauti update.

This coming from a non-healer take with grain of salt.
Shield doesn't defend against awakened nukes so it's pointless apart from looking good where fighting nukers is concerned. Theye may be some Feoh nukes I forgot to check, but it doesn't defend vs healer nukes or the main feoh nukes.

To be honest Sigil is probably better than shield in most situations unless you have knights. Shield rarely works without knights or EE shield block buffs and only works from the front, over time you'll probably save more damage with the small p.def boost of the sigil.

S Duals rock for group pvp since you get 30% extra CP and also MP plus HP and only lose on a small amount of heal power. Awakened toons have much more CP than HP so you gain a lot more.

For 1v1 the 2h blunt would be best since you don't miss out on much not having a sigil but gain a bit more damage, it's crucial for healer oly since most damage wins. If you want to work out how much more damage you'll do you simply take the square root of how much more % m.atk the new weapon has over your current one. Say seraph 1h vs 2h (+3) is 345m.atk vs 378 m.atk, 378/345 = 1.095 (9.5%), The square root of 1.095 is 1.046, 5%.

You will have roughly 10% more m.atk and do 5% more damage with the 2h blunt than a 1h weapon of the same grade.
