I am in due process of making a +6 unbound Heavy set. I already have a Grade D set at +4, but still am working on the jewelry part of this set. If I were to make this set +6 all around, how many levels would it last me till I need a replacement?
I have heard that a solid +6 Grade C Heavy set can last you up till level 76. If this is the case, what parts should I consider enchanting to +6? Should I use a combination of items that provide set bonuses?
I am going to make an Iss, but right now I am taking my time doing that, earning as much Adena as I possibly can before considering the dash to 85. My goal is to make about 250 mil Adena then commit to my Iss and Awaken her afterwards. So far I am at about 100 mil Adena. I have a little more to go before I consider Awakening my Iss and finally taking her to lvl 85 and beyond. Since I am not rushing, and taking my time to grind instead, having an unbound set is ideal for me, since I am not wanting to worry about the 30 / 90 day time limits on the PtA gifts. As an added bonus though, this same gear will be used when I also subclass, so I think this is a great idea for me to persue.
Please offer me an opinion on what combination of items is a "best scenario" for either a Grade D or Grade C +6 all around unbound set. The set I am needing is Heavy, for use with my Iss and perhaps a Tyrr warrior as well.
Well it is for a subclass as well. However, up till now I have had nothing but a negative experience when it comes to clans in general. As much as being in a clan helps, for me, its been the other way around. So I am pretty much solo, for all I do. Means I am grinding my lvls out, not rushing. Means I need items to not have a timer. In the past 6 weeks, I have only discovered "cheater" clans or clans that are at least dubious in nature, and thats basically why I am needing a set that stays with me permanently. I have not much faith in clans, so in order for me to solo, which takes ages (not worried about how long it will take) the gear I use also needs to have no time limits. Its a chicken or the egg routine eh?
This is on Bartz by the way. Same goes for lack of good mentors. I have had nothing but terrible luck with both clans and mentors. Only thing I can see left for me is to solo it, and use unbound gear only all the way up.
I find it interesting that so many ppl say plz join a clan, and when I have, to discover they are not all legit players, left me solo for now.
So yes, this set is for both uses, subclass and main char use. Its why I need some suggestions. OR......find a legit clan and a good mentor.

My advice is to forget the gimmick that +6 gear is and get the path of awakening rewards if that is possible. Otherwise, just grab some cheap armor and keep your money for when the need for it is dire. Is the char in question already created? If so, what level/class is she?
I also think it's best if you suck it up and try to find a decent clan, or at least a good mentor. Leveling without a mentor is a real pain in the ***. You don't want to go down the other path once you get to 76+.
Thats the thing. I am not able to do much since I am slooooooow to level up when I am solo. :D I am not able to commit to any char I make at the present time. I am fully aware of the PtA. :D I use it, but I am also attempting to plan my char for Awakening and for subclass. To me it makes a little bit of sense to do this.....unless I find a legit clan and a good mentor, I see little to no other option. I am in an odd circle of play a char to the 60s, then no clan nor mentor found, means I delete that char, make a new one, same class, use my unbound gear on new char, look for a clan, look for a mentor. See the spin I am in? Need some options.
EDIT: 6 weeks now and no legit clan or good mentor, thats a long time to be looking...
