Testing: Unidentified Twilight Item (Pick one)
Question: The chances to get Bound/Standard/Blessed because 35 are not enough to test.
Reason: A lot of people are wondering if it's worth crafting with a chance of failure, so do I. I'm willing to craft but I need to know more exact results.
Item Tested: Unidentified Twilight Leather Armor
Number of Items Tested: 100
Items Received:
95 Bound Twilight Leather Armor
4 Standard Twilight Leather Armor
1 Blessed Twilight Leather Armor
Juji, I would just like to know, how do you do your testing, are you a GM and you can do thoses tests by spawning the items in your inventory (And making sure that none of the created stuff leaks into the server's market of course, as I think any representative of NC should make sure of as his job's contract probably designates it) Or are you some kind of super rich clan leader that does thoses tests for the pleasure of answering questions like this... Because my question was... you tested an unidentified item with "Check Item" to see what was the % of bound/standard/bless, but 1st question is.... would the rate be the same on ALL unidentified items, or is the rate changing depending on item type, item grade, or item rarity? And also, I would think that 100 would be a too small sample, since most people will GREATLY rely on your stats to determine the rates, could you do a sample of 1000 unidentified items for let's say... a Twilight Breastplate? Also, for the crafting test that you did on this other thread here -> http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=241533
It seems that you have 22% chance to get a standard item by crafting, and on the 35% that would become Unidentified, you could open an extra 3 more that would become Standard, so basically, this says that you have a 25% Chance to end up with a Standard item while crafting. versus 4% while opening it from an unidentified item. I do think this, since it will be LARGELY looked upon as for the ultimate reference, that it could probably benefit from a sample size of 1000, so if you have time please, could you do 1000 unidentified opening, and 1000 crafts, for the item Twilight Breastplate. probably one of the most crafted armor item in the server. And if not, at least answer the part of the post that asks if the chances based on thoses 2 posts you have made would be identical for all unidentified items or all crafts or if it differs based on item Grade/rarity/type/whatever.

Thank you
All of my tests are conducted on a QA server. None of my tests will ever impact the live servers.
I cannot test over 1,000 items for crafting and 1,000 for unidentified items. This is not feasible at all and would be extremely time consuming. I have already completed these 2 tests with a reasonable sample size. I don't think there is a difference between identifying items based on grade and type.
And for those who don't know : QA means Quality Assurance, it's a local server only for NCSoft staff to check and report bugs, and this server is not linked at all to live servers :)
I would like to add that the significantly higher chance to obtain a Standard item by crafting when compared to clicking an Unidentified item (for R+ Grade) is indeed what would be expected. This is a feature which was introduced with the Harmony update to encourage crafting and re-invigorate the economy: http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%ED%95%98%EB%AA%A8%EB%8B%88+%EC%95%84%EC%9D%B4%ED% 85%9C
But keep in mind, crafting has on average a 40% chance of failure. And we all know that 8 out of 10 Attribute Stones not landing is what a 50% success rate is all about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binomial_distribution
