The only pet I can imagine would be good is a Fenrir (Evolution chain: Wolf > Great Wolf > Fenrir) I am not sure what level they are allowed to be leveled to now though... At lvl 85 they were decent damage dealers with fully equipped armor. (this armor is a decent amount of adena as well)
If they raised the level cap for a fenrir to 99 I would imagine the damage could be decent. This could be a decent test for juji in his lab if they raised the cap?
The cap for pets has been raised to 99 as well.

Mmmh, I'm not really interested in that so I never checked, but I have my doubts; the only thing the devs revamped apparently was the level cap. The xp table and the skills (for the improved pets) are still the old ones...
