10 times failed using BEWR on 95 mage weapon for +4.I did on 3 days,in different hours.
Do you think this is normal?Has the sucess rate in tauti update been reduced?
Me,i really can't understand what the developers are thinking when they put stats to armors/weapons that are activated with +4.
Wouldnt mind if there were some daily quests that give me some milions everyday.Wouldnt mind if mobs droped something to sell to npcs aside than weap/armor useless parts.Wouldnt mind if for oe my skills i wouldnt have to find some more bilions......
Hmm was it a Bound item? Cos lately I've been noticing that bound stuff has waaaay lower chance for overenchant than normal/blessed stuff.
You can conduct some test of yours of course and see what I mean.
Before harmony update, most people were doing their weapon +4 with 1-2 trys and never heard of anyone to need more than 4 trys for +4.I was always inside clans that most people were overenchanting their weapons, the +4 was almost common.
On harmony update, i know a person who failed 9 times for +4 on standard apocalypse weapon(he was using the coins shop package bewrs and did it +15 at the end) and many others that did +4 with 1-4 trys.
Now on tauti,i used the bewrs that drop from raids (not from coin shop) and had the 10 times fail so far.It makes me wonder if i was so badly unlucky or if there is some kind of bug.On the opening screen tips,we see message ''after +3,every item has 1/3 chances of fail'' or something like this, how this explains the 10 straight trys from the same player on the same weapon?

Okay, this is already either uber bad luck, or you suck (sorry) :D
9 apo weapons going +5 all blew up, while buddy of mine did +9 on his weapon first try, Korean random or more like chosen Luck, its just like having your pt being setup on random, 2 ppl in a random pt system, 1 person gets 90% of the drops ...
dont worry the next 40 bewr will do it for you , just keep using these scrolls , u guys got enuff money , just activate another grp to farm more adenas :p
Okay, this is already either uber bad luck, or you suck (sorry) :D
Has nothing to do with the OP sucking, its all random luck. I've had very minimal luck in my 8 years playing this game. Lots of failed crafts and events.

Sometimes it's cheaper to just buy a +4 with 300 Element + SA.
I failed 9 Apocalypse Dual Daggers going to +4, in that time those attempts were worth 1b adenas....now i see some +4 Duals with 300 element on Auction House for 600-700m
Korean random sux. There should be some kind of register like:
Player X already tried 1 and failed, now he will succeed in 2 tries.
But.........
Good luck next time. Like a guy said above, keep trying...

This has been a joke, of course it has nothing to with him, nor I meant any offence towards him :)
Keep writing about your expirience with oe in tauti update people.
I made this post not only to make public my fails :p but because there can be a kind of bug or an even more low oe sucess on this update and if so,i would like to be informed before i try again ofc.
My idea is,since most of apoca weapons on harmony were oe by players using the coins package bewr or lucky stones, maybe, just maybe,Nscoft had lower the chance of oe if we use an item that drops from game, there for we need to buy from l2 store.Evil?Maybe, but is realistic. Also,r weapons give special bonus on +4 and maybe Nscoft has put a different modifier than the lower grades where a +4 weapon had not so much difference from a +3.Just thoughts, but im investigating. :)
It's pointless to use BEWR on R95 weapon. They're more the easy to obtain and in store each is between 75-350kk. Atleast if you fail for +4 with normal scrolls u get crystals. Don't waste money on BEWS, better take Lucky encnant stone. At least now they work properly...
sry .. my bad ... forgot the priices aren't even on all the servers. Just last night on Naia, we bought 3 Specter Retributers for our summoner - 250kk each.
In my common logic, when a game introduces some new stats to weapons(like the r +4 weap stats) or whatever other items, the game mechanics should allow players to ''produce'' them with a realistic rate of sucess to keep them busy doing new stuff ingame.I remember a korean player who used to write for some time in this forum,he said he noticed the players in our servers were so poorely geard. He wrote that the average korean, even non-pvp small clan player's toon, was with +7 top weapon and +6 armor set and all top players had +15 weapons ect and all these by craft/oe/buy/sell ingame without ebaying.
My question, how koreans make such stuff on every update? Is the sucess rate generator different in korean servers? Here, we cant even make a +4 weapon!
I guess on every update they also see their previous grades gear becoming worthless items noone wants to buy,so on every update they either need to make 50-100bilions or have a different rate for sucess on oe( and not only ).
In our servers too, i've noticed many times we have too low drop rate of some kind of items, like certain weapon,or armor.I remember the vesper caster on franz server, for almost 1 year no v.caster was dropped while tiat was farmed constantly.Only 4-5 casters were on server but on other servers v.caster had same drop rate as other weapons.
For the current event,i can give you the example of a player i know, who had opened 10.000 shiny draco boxes, longing for the wymn ring. All he got was an antharas earring and 1 antharas bottle.
10.000X2.000.000 each=20.000.000 bilions he spent.
Before start judging the guy, think that events are part of market, someone who can invest a lot should be able to make the a big profit,if event rewards were working with a proper rate he should get items that would atleast give him most of his adena back like more epic bottles or many +5 dyes.
With tauti update and current event the feeling we got is ''looser's''.Mobs dont drop items, raids item's drop is like 80% down, the soa energys are bugged therefor no crystals to make 300 weapons in market,no new areas for high lvls with better xp,all is a big fail.
The last 2 days i even couldnt find 1 90+ dd to fill the group for fortuna on server pic's hours.Players are leaving and leaving and i dont blame them.
I truly believe OE success rates for R grade weaps is lower than other grades. This doesn't bother me EXCEPT for the fact that lots of people were able to get destruction scrolls using NC coins in the past and now this service is no longer available. So now there are a handful of people who have insanely OE'ed gear and it is virtually impossible for other players to acquire similar gear.
NC should re-implement the acquisition of destruction scrolls using NC coins. I realise lots of people will cry foul and scream "pay to win" BUT having this service in game would generate more OE'ed weapons/gear. Obviously the people who are willing to spend $$ would benefit the most but other players who do not purchase NC coins would be able to acquire this gear on the market.
Rodah, people who used this coins service in the past not only oed the tw armors/apocaly weapons but saved enough and oed r95 gear they'r using now.
Red specter retributer on NAIA.
I dont agree with you about getting back this service once more. The reason is,i know there are ''sick" people ingame still, not that many any more but they do exist, that would spend their bank savings, making the rest of clan members really looking without a reason to exist.
I mean, what's left to do ingame anymore? If you buy all vit/rune/hourglass/monthly specials, you lvl X4 faster than all others, you practicaly buy the lvling of your subclass, you buy your oed gear, why not to sell ready 99lvl toons with everything then?
Big mistake we didnt got premium accounts.Koreans designed this game to be X2 rates,we have X1,lvling doesnt happen if not use all vit items from coin shop.If we didnt have to buy every month xp items, more players could afford to make a ''big donation'' 1-2 times a year to get something that would really boost them instead of paying 50-100$ per month for just vit.
Players that want to be in big clans and be active in their server cant afford to stay relaxed without using coins vit items cause the instances/raids require certain lvl to enter and do damage,if you stay behind in lvls you will just be behind for ever.86-99lvls with so expensive to make new gear were way to much for 1 update plus next update subclass 99.

While I basically agree with what you say, the "higher success rate" of enchants in Korea is a statistical illusion. There are simply more players on the Korean servers, so naturally there are also more overenchanted weapons. Here are for example the Olympiad statistics for the Korean Teon server: http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/gameinfo/olympiad/lastOlympiadInfo?serverId=9
In the lower left corner of the page you can see the level distribution - they have more than 200 players of lvl 99, while I as a Tyrr Warrior on Naia don't have sufficient participants for class-specific matches to take place at the end of a month.
A different thing is the term "face"/面 (with a bit of imagination you can see that the ideogram is actually a pictogram, with eyebrows, nose, mouth and cheeks). Koreans, and Asians in general, like to "show their wealth" (which is also the reason why the Seed Talismans create a visible light effect). Therefore they probably invest on average more adena into overenchanting weapons than a western player, who might go more for skill enchants. A shiny weapon enables them to "show off" :D

If you are sure we have exact the same sucess rates in our playing hours as koreans have, then there must be some other kind of ''trick''.
If they use the lucky stones from mentes 'npc, maybe this is the answer?Nscoft has changed the oe modifier and the sucess rate is gone too low if we dont use these stones?
Sorry, but high population in server is not what will produce adena and oed weapons. If 10k players log to farm mobs/raids from 80-95lvls,they will just bumb to each other as those areas are so few and lower areas are worthless for legit adena making since sometime.
Ofc,the answer to all problems is ''bot and ebay'' but we are supposed to play with game rules and game should work if we play with game rules....
As you can see, for going to +4 on R-Grade Apocalypse weapons she found a probability of around 50% for physical weapons and 25% for mage weapons. The slight differences between Bound, Normal and Blessed might be statistical variance."
I wonder why testing enchant rate for R grade weapons is "Not feasible" for Juji?
Because it takes around 7 seconds to do one enchantment on one weapon.
To do it on a large amount of weapon (let's say 200 weapon), you will then need 1400 sec, i.e. 23 minutes
For doing one enchant
So doing +4 on 200 weapon will take around 2 hours for Juji. You see why it's not feasable ?

So it can be 100 weapons ;) But I don't think that time spent on enchanting is a reason why it's not feasible.
Probably this:
"Due to game design and the intentions of developers and producers in the Lineage II franchise, there are some topics and features in the game for which the Juji's Lab testing is not provided:
No Quests (Requires extensive testing)
No Enchant Rates
No Raid Boss Drops
No Event Rewards
No XP Table Stats
No Requests for Development "
That's what I suspect too. Maybe they don't want to make it too easy for private server operators. This would also explain why NCTaiwan publishes these data - since Mainland China went "free to play" private servers are no issue over there. On the other hand, ChildOfHeaven uses arabic numbers in decimal notation, no 百分之 but the international "%" sign, so just by looking at the icons and numbers anybody can figure out what she means, even without using Google Translator. Insofar the secrecy at NCWest is a bit silly.

The secrecy is how they make their money now.
Example:
They offered us Power Shirts with enchants for $1 each. Whats the success rate? Can't say....
They offered us Destruction Scrolls for $30 each. Success rates for R Weapons appear to have been nerfed, but they dont tell us about it.
Valentine Event Fiasco: Pay $2 to turn your cake into a better cake with a chance of getting a boss jewel. Chances? Figure it out on your own....
AFAIK US Law requires all games of chance, lotteries, even sweepstakes that are completely free (CASH PRIZES OR NOT), to disclose the odds of winning a "prize".

Let's say I am fairly sure that Korea has the same enchantment success rates as we in the English version. I get this impression from forum posts with accounts of how they heroically went to +7 and then blew up their most beloved Elpy Slasher. Didn't destructor mention that he crystallized an Ancient Vesper Nagan when going from +11 to +12?
As for the lucky stones, they come mostly from their Lineage2Shop: http://nshop.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/goods/detail?goodsNo=4633&categoryPath=1&sort=1&sortOrder=DESC
In Korea it's pay to play, and a subscription fee of 30 US dollars per month is quite hefty even over there. I have not heard that people make a succession of mentees just to get stuff from the Mentor Guide. There really is no trick :)
Nevertheless, even without consulting the official enchantment statistics (http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%EC%9D%B8%EC%B1%88%ED%8A%B8+%ED%86%B5%EA%B3%84%EC% 8B%A4) it is quite obvious just from looking at screenshots that on Korean servers there is on average more wealth. This is an undeniable fact. Now, the question is, where does that wealth come from? They do have some adena-farming bots, but those are heavily persecuted by a dedicated Task Force within the GM Team: http://boards.rochand.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=811#p12020
No adena to be gotten from there, apart from the fact that Korea is a small country and people know each other from internet cafes. Most players are far too afraid of losing face to risk ebaying :)
The answer is, Koreans are better organized. Their custom of auctioning off boss drops among the raid force and then dividing the adena among the raiders contributes to spreading wealth more evenly, and when one top-player quits the game, less wealth is removed from the server. Not like over here when some botter gets finally banned and together with him a full set of boss jewels goes down the drain. The main reason, however, is that they waste less time and resources with PvP. They do have PvP clans, and if you come to Korea during the summer, until September 2 the Modern Arts Museum in Ansan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansan) has a highly recommended exhibition about the Bartz Liberation War (http://lineage2.playforum.net/news/lin2hot/id/1043595) waged by the Underwear Army on July 17, 2004: http://www.inven.co.kr/board/powerbbs.php?come_idx=390&l=970
But that is the exception. The majority of the Korean players doesn't PvP outside of sieges, wasting significantly less time, shots and potions than the average member in a Western top clan. Shots applied to monsters create adena, shots applied to other players create pleasure, but having expenditure and no revenue is the price you pay for your pleasure. It's like in real life - war leads to poverty :D
Example:
They offered us Power Shirts with enchants for $1 each. Whats the success rate? Can't say....
They offered us Destruction Scrolls for $30 each. Success rates for R Weapons appear to have been nerfed, but they dont tell us about it.

Even if there would be no anti-gambling laws, it is simply short-sighted to try and deceive your customers in this way. You may make a few dollars more at the moment, but when people feel cheated (justly or not), they will get disenchanted with the game and the company, and be less ready to spend their hard-earned pocket money on next month's item.
Not everything is better in Asia, but many things are. Take a look at the NCTaiwan Power Shirt event page: http://tw.myblog.yahoo.com/l2_friend/article?mid=28816&prev=29088&next=28587&l=f&fid=5
First you have an introduction about the shirts and their stats, then detailed tests about the enchantment probabilities with and without lucky stone, and what the probability is to get to +10 (it's 1%). All listed clearly, everybody knows what they are letting themselves in for. If you have spare money to gamble away, by all means go ahead, otherwise better save for the publication of your doctoral thesis :)
Yidao(Elmar),i 'm glad you see also that the coin shop in our servers and all the organisation for game isnt it what it should be so players pay realistic prices to get what they have to get on this game.
I was sure it's not the high population of koreans that make the wealth difference,or the share of drops to party members. The more is the population of a server the more you cant find a free spot to farm since the population is active players and not bots that all work on mornings and play on evenings. No matter if you make instances everyday,if fortuna drop 2 ear and maybe 1 tw earring for 1 month, like it happened to my party ,kartia drops 1 mold and spezion drops nothing most of the times, there's no wealth for the 7 persons of a party.
I would like to know the drops of instances in korea and if they are affected by the X2 rates, also if the prices of the items in their L2 store is same like ours,if items like lucky enchant stones(which apparently makes all the difference on oe the r grade items) are available on store for all year or only in a specific month.

heh this was the problem my CP faced. Fortuna drops were not droping for some time, and when it did it was enchant armors. We don't have a breast drop for 2 months now. On the other hand going with randoms it would drop seraph breastplate, tw leggings, robe and so on.
And spezion only droping either nothing or apo crossbow (which noone actually uses - it's like the game knows this is the most useless weapon). But on random pts droping cutters and throwers like it's nothing. I don't get much what's up this random drops and our lvls were between 92 and 95 (now 94-96). I would also love to know the chance of weapon drop on kartia, coz i never had a weapon drop on kartia 90 and i'm 94 lol

Overpopulation was a serious problem in Korea after GoD went live over there on June 15 last year. About two months later everybody wound up in the Orbis Temple where things were getting really crowded (they often finished Step 1 of the Zone Quest within 5 minutes) and tempers were flaring. On August 25 Cady from Inven.co.kr published an article (http://www.inven.co.kr/board/powerbbs.php?come_idx=390&l=845) about the situation, and the result was the Harmony update on October 19. The Kartia instances were specifically designed to reduce the population pressure in the open hunting grounds, aiming to re-establish harmony among the players :)
About the drop rates in the instances I have no information. Unlike in Taiwan and over here, there was no major outcry in Korea when Tauti went live. So either the Korean players don't care, or the drop rates have not been nerfed over there. I personally would tend towards the second explanation. The Powerwiki page about the instanced Antharas has been edited again on June 29, last Friday: http://power.plaync.co.kr/exe/ln2/doc.php?mode=history&doc_no=48721
But they still give the Antharas Earring as reward, and no Eternal armor: http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%EB%B0%9C%ED%84%B0%EC%8A%A4+%EA%B8%B0%EC%82%AC%EB% 8B%A8+%3A+%EC%95%88%ED%83%80%EB%9D%BC%EC%8A%A4+%EC %9B%90%EC%A0%95
We have completely different rewards now: http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=241606
So the different versions of the game are indeed drifting apart, and I have the impression that we have more in common with Japan and Taiwan than with Korea.
I myself never bought anything from the L2Store, so I have no idea what these things cost over here. In Korea one weapon enchant lucky stone R-Grade costs 4900 Won (1 Korean NCoin = 1 Won): http://nshop.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/goods/detail?goodsNo=4633&categoryPath=1&sort=1&sortOrder=DESC
That's around 5 US dollars. For comparison, in an average restaurant in Korea you pay around 4500 Won for a big bowl of vegetable stew and 5000 Won for rice with vegetables.
I am not so sure whether those lucky stones make really that much of a difference. The weapons stone from the Korean store increases the chance by 20%, while the "event" one (presumably the same as the stone from the Mentor Guide) ChildOfHeaven tested gives only 10%: http://tw.myblog.yahoo.com/l2_friend/article?mid=28816&prev=29088&next=28587&l=f&fid=5
ChildOfHeaven found that "10%" means 10% of the base probability of 50% (for physical weapons), i.e. you get 55%, while the Koreans get 60% with their stone. I guess that unless you overenchant weapons on an industrial scale you won't notice those 5% difference.
The lucky stones are permanently available in the Korean Lineage2Shop, not only for one month. Keep in mind, Korea is pay to play. That means their main revenue comes from the game time points they sell, while the item shop is just an additional income. NCWest on the other hand must create their total revenue out of the L2Store/Galleria. That means they are forced to do aggressive marketing ("Buy now before the offer runs out!") whereas NCKorea can take things a bit easier. In the past they did have something like our Valentine Cakes, items you could buy only during an event, but I haven't seen that recently.
Ty for all the infos Elmar, just to know about the lucky stones,in our l2store we could only get them if we were buying a package worthing 3600 coins with different items inside(many of them worthless to us)including 1 stone,3600 coins for us is almost 50 $ -much more than the cost of a ball with vegetables- and it was a limited time offer.Even with this comparison,we can see items to get in korean l2store are way more cheaper than in ours.
What i want to know is WHY make DEW only work to 15 than you have to use a scroll that could BLOW up or Reset to get +16 WHY OH WHY!!!!! like the ultimate tease! i had a +15 S80 weapon BLew up trying to get +16 Had +15 Kesh*Kesh Blew up on +16 and a +15 FB Blew up +16
PSH this was back to back all 3 blew up back to back to back.
Stupid system makes you wanna Kill someone. or nuke korea
Has nothing to do with the OP sucking, its all random luck. I've had very minimal luck in my 8 years playing this game. Lots of failed crafts and events.
7 years of bad luck here also. Never been lucky on drops or enchanting thingy. Worked hard way for everything i have.

Dont' wanna risk to fail? Don't OE it.
Stupid are those that crash a weapon and QQ afterwards cos it's unfair
don't really have sympathy for trying to get +16 as vast majority of players will never be wealthy enough to even get to the point of attempting that, so whatever.
But about atarths' issue, my clannie also literally tried for +4 on R95 2h mage blunt 10 times, I think he got it on the 11th (and it is a blessed weapon). So, at least you can know you are not alone with this.
after observing that I am now of the opinion that it is well worth it to just save up adena and flat out buy the weapon at w/e OE you want with 300 already on it in AH. because you are gonna spend way more adena in the end being unlucky with korean random if you think you must do it yourself.
Also, patience pays off; apoc weapons used to be super expensive, now they aren't as the server levels up, so if you wait long enough you will get w/e you want at reasonable price. It all depends on if you think you HAVE to have it RIGHT NOW.
(I think it's rather hilarious when you can now auto-learn the 24th buff slot when that item used to be almost impossible for most ppl to get, or imagine all the adena that used to be spent, or the drama over clan drops, on the books for all the skills you can just click to learn upon leveling now).
and ***** are those that give a ******ed response.... oh wait.... guess im just like you....
So you had your lil bashing, got your weapons back?
Guess, no... poor you !
Hope you feel atleast a lil better after bashing me with ***************** :p

I'm not alone allright :)
Patience pays off its good for real life but as you know inside the game we play, when we are in pvp clans, all items make the difference if you get them before they become available to everyone.Remember what antharas earring used to be and how its effect was lowred and reduced over the new debuffs/skills.When +4 r95 weapons will be available in market in good price,if i still play in game i would be going for make +4 the new r99 weap(if i see test results first and realise it is possible).
I dont think i tried succed in something big,oe to + for special effect on weapon and armor shouldnt have that much fail rate because litteraly takes out of game the existance of +4 weapons. For main armor, i know +4 has a very low fail rate, anyway.
About buying ready oed weapon,i can say 3 reasons a player who doesnt ebay cant do it.
First,to move to higher xp areas or succeed in some raid(like 1 party istina),we need the lvls and the higher weapon we can have. The moment you get the lvl everyone expects from the dd to have atleast a weapon of his lvl with sa and 300.
Second, crystals(wind most of all) have become one of the most rare items, who would risk to break his weap and have to search and pay for crys .Add to that, the cry for sa,if it was the rare one it costed allready much.
Third,a player cant have tonz of bilions anytime on his invetory to buy the new weapon he wants. We make money by geting some drop and selling some stuff,we save money by not failing much when we oe skills/try to get our dyes from npc ect,a player who doesnt ebay is getting some adena every month,he doesnt get at once 5b to buy the weapon that 1 person is selling in server.

Thats why ppl should enchant weapon before they attribute and SA their weapons or use BEWR. But it is still not worth to enchant mage weapons with enchant ratio so low. I still don't get it why mage weapon has 2 times less enchant ratio than melee weapon. Really "bright" idea
