Could someone please tell me in order what are the grades of quality of R-grade lifestones? I mean, of course I realize that regular LS is the lowest, then mid, high & top, but I am not really sure where "improved" falls in all of this, because the descriptions says "top-grade mineral..".
Also, I would like to know what your experience has been as far as getting a good augment with each type of R-grade LS, since at the lower levels I have always gotten the best results with a regular or mid-grade LS. I REALLY hate that, because I always want a weapon that glows, and you can get that with a mid-grade, but I have found that the odds of getting a good augment with mid seems to be lower than with regular, and I have never gotten a good augment with a high or top grade LS.
Sometimes I feel like it is deliberately set to give you a lot of augments that are useless to your class (I kept getting Melee augments with my Spellsinger).
So far 2 billions+ wasted in augments on my bow and only mage skills - passive empower (3 times this one), Wild Magic, Clarity, 80% ress, Heal, All kinds of nukes and not a single Fighter skill (not even a chance for stun or w/e). So now i just sell the stupid stones - pointless ...

So sorry to hear that. Unfortunately this is just further proof of my theory that it is deliberately set to give you skills which are useless to you class most of the time.
I am still hoping that someone will answer my original question about improved R-grade life stones though.

Let me know when you find this out, I have been a little bit curious as well... possibly they are just named different things, but they could even be different augment results? Not sure...
There isn't difference in the chance, just in the bonus itself. If you get critical or m.atk with normal R grade it can give you 5 or 10 as bonus. With Mid and High grade it could give you basically double or tripple on that but the chance for skill stays the same.
