I would reccomend Health + Focus, since the main idea of a tank is to hold enemies, and it's better to rely on crits than to hit fast, since as a tank you dont do that much damage.

You don't put focus on a tank weapon...

all depends on play style.. u can have a c grade HP weapon and go focus & haste or take cheap requim sword and get 1 hp & haste as well hp & focus..

dual sa are not that expensive until 95+ and insane at 99

when i have to solo (k95 and forgotten gateway) i almost only use skills .. and focus dosnt help on skills crit (at last i think so ^^) so i am going health+haste .. smal increase in reuse time too. Cant see much benefit from focus atm.

I am still curious, shouldn't the reuse time only been influenced by epics/subskills/active or passive reuse time auguments?

Haste + Wit only decreases the cast time not reuse afaik.

what i meant is the overall timer ("casttime" + reuse of the skill) is a bit faster.

With haste you will cast skills faster :) Focus on a tank is mostly useless.

still stand by this and for dps style tanks, not like there are many of those around, having max focus does matter.. I r lol elf tank with 10,5k patt and use a +15 Bless Apo Cutter Focus & Haste as main weapon ;)

btw in Korea they're making attack speed again a factor in skill re use etc. so in like 9 Months we will see the same here lol..

since GOD the most part of the damage come from skills, and focus doesn't affect skills, with haste u "cast" the skills a little faster, so it could help more than focus

With Buffs, Sub Skills, Talisman, Decent Aug, +4 (or higher) weap a Tank can get get around 400 Crit Rate without a focus weapon so why bother.

Haste is + 15% which is pretty nice (over 100 attack speed fully buffed). Your skills will definitely proc faster.

he prolly also has a +6 gaiter which adds another 30+ crit rate that he forgot to mention..

ah and with augment you can easily get another 30 crit as well but he did mention that :P


btw tanks that really need the 25% HP SA at end game levels to function are doing something wrong or have lazy healers :D

I switched to a Blunt (+8 Spectre Avenger) but before that I had a +6 Apoc Cutter with Health+Haste and if I remember correctly I had around 380 crit rate WITHOUT a +crit augment. Incidentally, even with a Blunt I have over 300 Crit Rate (Haste+Focus SA) and with Knights Frenzy I crit HARD.

So lets see, +30 from sub skills, +30 from Annihilation Seed Talisman, + 25 from +4 or greater cutter, 80 Base for sword, +100% from Harmony, +32% for Guitar Melody lvl 1, +20 from a decent Aug and you will be well over 300. Add +6 Gaiters and Istina ring (cheapest Istina Jewel out there) and you will easily break 400.

Having said that, I realize that most average players will not have +6 Gaiters or Istina Ring but getting +30 from Sub Class Skills and +30 from lvl 3 Seed Talisman is very easy. Getting a cutter to +4 is also expected regardless if it is a Req or Apoc. So to reiterate, you can either have 300+ Crit rate and 15% faster attack speed or 380+ Crit Rate. Take your pick but it seems obvious to me which is better :).

Tanks are TANKS because of PDef (Shield and Base) NOT HP.

One final tidbit to add is that you can also get the +crit. rate Romantic Chapeau which i believe adds +50.

Wasted item on a Tank. Better if he use pdef or mdef Hat.

+5% pdef incase more pdef is needed I guess

got the STR/CON & Mdef ones myself and alternate pending on what am doing..

Not every1 is a DPS Tank like some1 i know :rolleyes:
