Well i saw, and followed toons (apparently bots or something else) dressed with the c grade (coupon, for trade with npc) gear, *phantom summoners, with nightshade out, they talk to an obviously npc quest, the adventurer guy npc, buff themselves, go to the assignated quest hunting ground while targetting the buffer npc, kill some mobs, take soe while hitting the mob, and back to city, talk again and repeat, what is this?? there are in goddard for example, like 10 different phantom summoner toons dressed the same and making this kind of thing, i hope if there is a fix for this, or maybe somebody can tell me what the crap are they doing? i followed their steps but what can it be? i dont see them lvl up and quests are supposed to be daily? maybe an adena bug or something?
or an npc dialogue bug? like the old bug with gatekeeper and priest of dawn for travel to catacombs??
Oh and yesterday while questing in my sub i saw the same behaviour in swamp of screams, sme class and same gear.

There are several non-daily repeatble quests in this game that simply want you to go out and collect items, turn them in for rewards and repeat as many times as your wish; it is not a bug.
This is indeed strange. I noticed same last two days on barts. An armada of c-grade summoners run non-stop between Adventure-Helper and a Kookaburra outside Goddard.
As far as I know, the Adventure Helper only gives daily quests. Which means, once per day. And they are even too low lvl for any daily quest at Goddard. Plus I doub there is any repeatebal quest which tells you to only kill one special mob out of 1000 same once. And this summoers exactly kill each time the same Kookaburra at exame the same place. They dun even have buffs lol. So I am realy curious about this :p
I've noticed this on Magmeld as well. They don't appear to be live players as I've seen them get stuck in spots for long periods of time. Maybe the GM's should take a look around Goddard at all the cookie-cutter phantom summoners with 5th dimension names like "GGnmsl" (not a real toon). Something's definitely not kosher here....
last night on bartz, when I toke a time to lvl my spoiler a bit, I got to SoS to do any quest there (nice reward to a lvl 65) and while I was running to here and there, I meet 3 phantom summoners in c-grade, hitting with nightshade and wind strike (!), all in the same doom where appear the freenzied mobs there. And I was a bit curious 'cause they didnt answer pms nor have a readable name (all was like 'bafms' or smtg). Then I met another one, this time a live player, we laughed a bit about each one of us thinking the other was a bot, and did start a party, finished the quest, ok. I just soe'd and got back to npc to take que quest off, and guess what? I spawned right inside a bunch of all types of races in no-armor (I counted 7, +1 dark elf female in dc and an Iss buffing), and just stayed there stared at that meet-train running right to the paradise. Well, I have to say a bit of jealousy touched me :(
after this post i went to give a check on magmeld.
actually i found:
3 summoners in c grade in aden (stucked in the wall between the weapon&armor shop and the stairs)
3 summoners in c grade in goddard (in front of npc of daily quest)
the 3 in aden were buffless and didnt moved for 30 mins, so i let them.
In goddard only 1 was moving, he took buffs and went out, i followed him and only thing he did was killing mobs. while i was following him i met an other summoner in c grade, still killing mob with 14 min of buff left.
then, after this char was running he disappeared oO prolly loged off or i dont know.
i checked on map--> quest --> goddard and no quest rep there...
so i dont get it...anyway mobs in goddard should be lvl 70....and those chars use wind strike....
i dont know sounds weird
EDIT: im checking now outside goddard. 6 all near lol one have 10 mins of buff....ill w8 xD
EDIT 2: i dont get why 50% of summons have: nightshade and unders the name of the char. and some dont have it oO
EDIT 3: i checked all, followed more then one, they just come back at npc, take buffs and go back. they dont go anywhere else. just wondering: maybe farming event items?
I recognize a few of the names on Dracha's picture. The bad news is that now my necro got PKed last night (not by Dracha, this time :p) doing that quest. I guess it's guilt by association.

Well, the question is, which beneftit will the person get from letting his bots run between a NPC and a mob? Either *sarcasm mode on* someone is testing how many bots he can run and how long it will take they will get a ban *sarcasm mode off* or is some kind of an exploit.
I killed some of them but got bored because they instant go back to town and continue their walk.

at start i thinked was for the event items....then reading here seams in all servers are the same so mhhh everyone got the idea of c grade summoners in goddard? lol weird.
so is something about all those sites of rtm, but i still dont get it. every mob drop 2.5k adena and those bots die every 2 mins.
I've seen tons of them in Goddard....but today while doing a daily for my sub I saw them at Shrine of Loyalty....lvl 75 for C grade ????....so what's up ???
*sigh* NOT even such obviously bots can get banned. Even they *maybe* don't exploit, they are not real played chars at all. Every day more of them pop up.
No wonder I also see more and more bot trains up to 9 chars. They know they don't need to hide because nothing will ever happen to them.
yesterday I was on Mithril Mines doing the that run-and-talk quest there, and guess what, on my way a brave PS in c-grade with the same strange name (this time he's a DE male), running non-stop around me. He succeded to cover half the way of the northest pathway, but before the 3rd crystal, the larva mobs got him down.
After this, I'm sure I can tell how ever bolder they are (mainly if you consider that larva mobs there hit 200-250dmg to a lvl 80 geared toon, imagine at c-grade with basic buff set)
p.s.: from what I observed, he was doing only one quest there... maybe the company is to oversighted to bot, they arent doing the proper researchs.

I havent watch at town what they do but every time i need go to shrine of loyalty here they are: like 6 phantom summoners killing mobs!!!! all in C grade, strange names, some get stuck on rocks, others attak the mob, i ks, and they simply go to another...... seems like a plague!! they dont get killed easly so i wonder: are they really on C-grade lvls? or they just dont equip higher sets???

Yes...you're right...and they are at the right level to do the daily quests...so it's for the adena reward that they're botting there...which is rather annoying

I doub they do daily quests. The summoners at Goddard on Bartz are b-grade, even they are in c. You can see it on the buffs they use on their summon. Also, a daily quest is a one time quest each 24 hours. And they run 24/7 non-stop. And the summoners at Shrine don't even have weapons, and they camp the place also 24/7.
So it's just by chance they are outside Goddard (daily quest area) Shrine of Loyalty (daily quest area) and other places as well....and let's see...why don't you see them yet at Silent Valley (daily quest area)???...maybe cause they hit the summoner not the summon :)

reason cos they always go to ncp is cos of buffs, each hour they take again newbie buff, last time i followed some i saw one or two death, so they spawned in town w/o buff and went to kill mobs w/o buffs.
after some time doing mobs-npc-mobs they took buffs. so i think npc is a 'step' for buff only.
but still dont get what they get doing this oO

you right, his lvl its more then 70, i have a 69 lvl char and its yellow
Not target anything in town, they just go to npc and then go back to exp field, and when he stop running, activate 2 skill and then use soe, that all those bot do.
and sometime go to grocery, and buy something :D, probable soe :) lol
NCSoft want to make money, we all want the game to succeed, we ALL know there is an inherant bot issue with this game (I've played since C2 and it's never changed)
The question is... if NCSoft claim to do 'what they can' about the bot problem, this issue with the summoners surely calls them out on that ??
Yes, they might ban a few characters here and there, drop a few ISS boxes of the server now and then .. but really ... all of these summoners, on all servers, in several different areas at once ? get real NCSoft... if you WERE trying to do something about the bot problem, you are showing the community that you are lying !!!
Tonight, I lost it at the Shrine, trying to do my daily on sub, at least 12 summoners there. So I switched to main (wynn) started dropping dots on summoners... managed to take a couple down, but it was pointless.. that's when I logged this toon in, and went rampage :) -232000 karma later .. my quest was finished.. and... ALL the summoners were back (I killed them all at least twice, some 3 times)

Jupp, at Silent Valley on Bartz now also. I saw two at Cryp's last night. Both toons were so full of drops, they hardly could move anymore.

they are now at silent valley on Naia.... more names: certa, malaho, nunj.....
And now i just saw another curious thing in Naia: top floors of monastery of silence - each room - 2 or 3 wynm summoners killing mobs like crazy with same weird names............. and there yes!! they are farming adena!!! and included on package 1 iss for each group!!!
That is the "heaven" where all the phantom summoners go after annoying at shrine or silent valley...... MoS!!

Actually there are still lots outside Goddard as well as Burning Swamp.
I see from reading the past couple of days they are progressing quite well. At the same time I see Sace and Juji posting other things on this forum. I have to assume they are aware of this situation.
Here starts my rant:
These players will eventually affect my gameplay. Whether it be Oly, CoC, leveling in certain zones, the economy....you get my point.
Back to my point. Admins are reading this because they are still posting and slapping infractions. Here is the ultimatum, I spend roughly $100 a month on this game and $15 a monthfor years before f2p. I will not login after 31 Aug. you have 2 weeks. I'm done if they are not gone. It is so obvious it's not even funny anymore. Plug in another scenario where I threaten to pull my business due to lousy service from Comcast, my bank, my broker, my insurance agent hell--plug in any business, these people will fix it trust me. If they did ignore me or any customers, word would eventually get out onto the street "Hey, Comcast doesnt give a crap about their customers. We know it's an excellent product but the great product isn't worth the absolute horrid service that we receive." "Let's find another alternative. Oh, look XYZ company has not so great product but very impressive service." "They make me actually feel like they want and appreciate my money."---and would go to great lengths to keep it coming in.
Yes, I'm aware the botting has been going on for years. I guess I pondered this for awhile before posting in this one. I'm just done. Not whining or crying (but maybe I am) not trying to be negative either.

Seee people!!! i observed this just a night and seen all dressed the same, same race same summon in swamp of screams, silent valley, outside goddard, rune, it's a complete mistery what they do :/ it intrigues me so much... and every day they are more and more :s and obviously bots.
Ofc they are bots but noone from NC cares. I reported tons of bots since I started playing on Barts. We have all kind of them, single bots, grouped bots up to 7, invisible pker (not botted but suported by 3rd party soft), invisible bots for farming. And now lately this armada of summoner bots. And as I read here on forum, the situation on the other server is not better. I've got tired reporting them because nothing happend, they are still out there. It only gave me a new *ingame hobby* - a perma red bot pker.
I guess the philosophy is kind like this: As long as alot of player spend their money in the store, as long as NC is happy. Fighting against all this bots will only reduce their income. Because it need active GMs, which need to get payed and/or a good anti-bot protection, which need to programmed, which also would reduce their income. So it seems to me, as long as the cow gives milk, there is no need to care for it.
I've submitted lists of these guys to NCSoft support and still when I log into Silent Valley on Magmeld they're still out there doing their thing. I've submitted so many times, I'm not even getting responses back from NCSoft anymore. It's sad that such obvious violation of the rules doesn't get the attention it deserves from the GM's

I've seen lots of friends leave the game because of the bot problem when it was p2p...entire clans disappeared in all these years....servers merged...everyone playing this game for long have seen it...even though when the game became f2p I believed (naively) it would really be great for the community...but now this is (in my opinion and I believe others as well) the worst scenario I've seen in all these years (bots,spam,rmt)
I really enjoy this game (not as much as I used to :()

Is it so hard to understand that we as a community want this game to be better for everyone without any of these problems?
I brought my two nephews to L2. I leveled 1-40 with them. Had fun doing the quest chain. Kamalokas with them. They were playing WoW recently and Eve online before. I asked them if they would like to give it a shot with me and I would help them out during their play when I had time mentor them show them some cool areas and features about the game.
Here's the sad part. They haven't logged in in about two weeks. Still see they are level 42. Called both of them the other day to see why they don't play anymore. They say that the rmt spam shouting and bots everywhere did it in for them. Said the game was a joke, the words they used were "no better than a browser based game--why don't the people in charge take care of this?" Had no real answer for them. No other game they had played was this bad. They are in their mid twenties and love to game.
Needless to say I was embarrassed. First impressions are everything no?
Was hoping with the F2P model I could get some family and friends involved with me. Obviously not. I can't even get my 14 year old daughter to get interested.
I am still having fun though. When that stops I've no idea what's next.
Fix the issues please!? It gets less and less fun everyday.
**On a side note. Not only am I willing to point out the problems, I offer a solution. ---Why do people bot? ADENA. What do they need adena for? Boss Jewels, Armor, elements, Weapons and dyes +5.
Solution: Put all this in the cashshop at a reasonable price and make them untradeable. No more botting for adena. These rmt companies would dry up. NCsoft would make a mint. No bots more players. Players could have some fun. And for the mighty bottom line NCsoft could combat the "truly-free" players who spend nothing on NC coin with this responce: "You need it? Go do the raids. These items are obtainable in game." --All the best. The Lineage II Team.
My theory will hold true rmt companies will dry up. If these "truly-free" players are refusing to spend coin they will probably NOT buy adena either.
I'm open to other solutions other folks might have as well. Let's hear them.

When i saw the add about free to play i got a cold shiver on my spine! I left private servers because of this (bots, spams, etc) and even with some sacrifice of currency i came to official. WHY? Because here was the true game, the true gamers, the top Inteligence of the game I love, not to mention that there were no "kids" nor "OP" chars. And suddendly NC put the game f2p..... Ok let see how it goes..... and we have here the result! We that spent real money to be able to enjoy the game are now full of it because of these low scanbags -.-

Do you realize that they are scripted bots like the ones at Talking Island making newbie quests for adena?
I was replying to the ones who found weird for C-grade geared summoners to be able to take down lv 72+ mobs. (You're not supposed to go hunting lv 72 mobs while you're 40, are you?) Because gear isn't always a sign for a toon's level.
It's simply that botters don't even bother with changing gear, since the levelling/questing process is fully automated.
ATM in Blazing Swamp (Shilen server) there are 7 phantom summoner (Cgrade gear) botting so blatantly and still ncsoft doesn't do anything, the same happens at Goddard. I just wish for a bot pk and I don't mind dying in the process of killing them all (I cannot afford to get red heheh)

They're not only in Blazing. I've seen them everywhere: Silent Valley, Shrine of Loyalty etc. And they're all d elf summoners:confused:
