Hi guys, now that I'm 86 and I got diplomas, it's time to make a decision: I have the adena to get a Twilight heavy set, but since I'm a cheap bastard and I don't have SO MUCH adena and I don't want to waste them, I would like to know if I should take the Twilight set or just take the Immortal for free with diplomas(question: does the Immortal crystallize if I fail to enchant it more than +3?).
I searched on the internet and asked in game, but there are too many different opinions and I didn't understand much.
One thing, I don't play that much and I don't plan to reach level 95 in few weeks/months.
Whatever I will choose, any suggestion about what kind of elemental defense I have to put on the armor? Is 150 resistance enough or shall I get crystals to upgrade it further?
Additional info: I'm currently using the 90 days vorpal set(49 days left) and the stats look better than Immortal, just saying

no, the immortal gear from diplomas dont give crystalls.
sometimes ppl sell a fully elemented vorpal set pretty cheap .. if you can get one of these .. it will get you to 95.
If you are willing to spend some time on diplomas you can try to get a +6 immortal set, thats slightly better then twilight and you have the huge mana recovery from the +6 bonus and thats realy nice to have, cause you can turn on "focus shield" without loosing any mana (and you can get that set without adena investment).
My ex cp tank has blessed immortal set +3 +60x3 each part.. it was more then enough for him to lvl till 95.. and he had way more p def then tanks with twilights somehow...
First of all, thanks all for reply, still got some questions though:

But I guess this solution is more expensive than just buying the TW set...isn't it?

Is it better the vorpal set or the +6 immortal in that case? Immortal set doesn't give bonus set, or am I wrong?
Mmh, thanks for the info, any idea of how much "cheap" is sold vorpal set with elemental? At the moment here on Naia I couldn't find any, just few pieces with crap elemental res and a Vorpal shield +3 for 100kk...
Been using +44444 Vesper Noble Hvy Set 3*120 on my Tyrr.
Had not rly trouble tanking in Kartia 85/90. Even Soa Cokra/Reti worked if i had the semi-tank role.
As for pvp, its fine. And with the pvp option on it its a good thing to have.
I also have to say that my dps is better with my Vesper Set as with my Seraph Hvy.
still for defensive build tanks I still recommend going seraph hvy at 95 as the pdef difference is huge between say +6 MW Vesper Noble and +6 Bless Seraph ;)
true enough thou that the patt diff is the other way around but on a tank that's not that important unless ur a lolelf like me :P
it's usually cheaper then unident. TW BP/Gaiters alone so imo ~400mil whole set max these days
Mmh, that's not true, because at the moment, unident. TW Bp is currently 250kk at the action house, and unident. TW Gaiters are 4kk. I already have all pieces except for the Breastplate, but if you guys say that I will have to spend 300-350kk for a vesper set, then maybe isn't better to buy the TW one?
the money save/gain is at the 3x120 elements on the old sets but if you're fine with that then go with tw set just be aware of the additional costs involved of making that fully elemented.
If i will be 85 again i will stay in immortal till 95 with safe enchant and elements, or buy 3*120 vorpal set tbh ;) TW is overrated imo, and not worth that cash.
To the OP, +6 Immo or +3 TW? Both are Good but I would go with +6 Immo although the TW will still have slightly more P Def. The MP Regen Bonus will offset that though. However, OE'ed TW really starts to pull away from Immo, even a +6 set.
To everyone else advising to get anything other than R+ grade.......if you plan to PvP at a high level (ie. not ganking lowbies but fighting equal/higher level players) then the MINIMUM should be TW. Anything else and you will die fairly fast, even as a tank.

Pure BS. :)
I've had 2/3 lvl higher players in TW BSOE from my tank, at 87. :)
About ppl around 93/94(now I'm 90).. sure.. I can win 1v1s easily vs them.. but I'm noticing that at 95 I will for sure need a Defence set.

+1, with TW i bet this guy doesnt go around kiling 95 at 90-91...with vesper is easier. :D (on tyrr)
