Johnny its pretty simple. Dont worrie about reading that guide and following it.
Your main goal is to get to 85 and awaken. Then u can think about adena.
1. get to 40 and get a mentor that is online when u are online. u need the buff and exp boost.
2. Focus on Exp and exp only, do daily quest from lvl 50. Dont waste time on adena, and to many small quests that doest give much. Only do daily quests, with exception of Paliaka at 49, 61 and 73. All other quest leave em.
3. When u get to lvl 80 u can start hunting in Giants Cave, CoD, Den of evil, Mithril mines. All those 4 places have hunting quests that u can turn in when u can get no more exp. Trade in for orichalcum, it gives the most when sold to store.
4. GET TO 85 FAST, ALL THAT MATTERs.
As for adena. just sell all u collect on your way to npc, nothing u gonna get has any real value beside what npc gives u. When u awaken then u can start focusing on adena.
Items to keep if u find em and sell to players.
Elemental stones
Enchant armor S and R.
Enchant weapon S and R.
thats about it.

Fyi. 1-40 takes about 4 hours to do if u follow the quest line.
The easiest way to make Adena is to sweep up behind others who aren't picking up their drops (both Adena and mats). Costs you nothing and adds up quickly.

Just a quick note here.
You're better off skipping 49-61-73 palaika on your main class, as if you do them on your main you can't do them on your subs, and let me tell you, it's alot slower and little bit harder to lvl the subclasses...I would save those quest for the subs. Because you don't get the 200% bonus that mentor gives.
Also if u wait to do the 49 sub quest at lvl 51 it gives nearly 35%. Which is a huge boost to 52, and B grade, where as 51 to 52 still has a lvl wall.(takes longer then all the previous lvls)
1-40 is only fast if you have VP. if u don't then it's kinda slow.
Also, when you get to 20, and 40, don't use the justice/fate certificates u get for shots...get upper light/heavy(4 proofs) armor, and npc it to the store..that's a good way to make about 200-300k for 20, and about 600-800k for 40 ones.
You get armor/weapons from 41+.
D grade is a little bit harder, but if your a mage just use no grade devotion set. Until 41.
ultimately u wont really start making money until about 70 or so...
