Well.. well.. i just lose my time doing screem, sending reports, uploading screens... and i have to J85 with bot players :) im not going to mention anyone due the Gm protect bot here and its ok i can understand, How many time i have to report someone ? just send in 3 days dif screen, and nothing he continues playing like a normal player, what happen ? gm lazy ? no the enough team for ban bots ? is easy guys i cant believe ncsoft take so long for Ban, ppl just did bot in place crowded they dont care, they dont find any "secret place" for leave the bot no because Gm just dont ban bots, Toi 1 crowded with bots, blazing swamp those party bots of 7 bots, giant cave party bot 7 all like a train... H3 room with bots... (chronos) So now :mad: Why Ncsoft just "Legalize" the bot use due they just ignore player report, i just take a lot of time reporting with screens, and look like i just waste my time. Player bots have always been allowed. The spam ones are not but they are too slow on it, impremsive that they can't keep it clean of annoying spam bots.
I've seen the same phantom summoners bots (like we all have) but I've picked one I click the bot button on every time I see them. The bot has been around for a week now if that says anything :P And they are blatantly botting like every other dark elf summoner...
I'm really getting tired of competing with bots to do anything aside from stand in town. Getting more frustrated with bots then I've been in a long time...
But yea...waste of time to do anything more than click the report button (which is useless)

A bot hunting event would be pretty sweet if you ask me. I've actually stopped killing red/chaotic toons cuz I know they kill more bots than actual players so their sins are forgiven. I used to dread red toons in my early days of L2, now I just smile and cheer them on when I see one.
I remember when some clan kept reporting a former hero on sayha, he was caught on auto rez multiple times(like more than 4 occasions) and never got banned.
And this was back when they were actually swinging the ban hammer around. Just learn to deal with it and hope they own a dark castle:rolleyes:

Back in time, a screenshot from someone seeing colored names (green / black / yellow if I remember right) was a proof that the screenshot owner was using walker (and this color changed because of the number of cubic around the player seen)

i just open the map and talk with the "bot" u can c the Minute in game, i just did multiple screem on the same target each 10 or 5 min in game, and tracking the bot during several minutes, showing the region location time and how they dont reply and did the same action during like 15 min IRL

I still can't believe people think this is some kind of reliable "bot test".
Nobody wants to talk to me in game anyway. :P
Mostly the same for me.
Those days the only thing I say ingame are "Sorry, spot taken. Can you please move ?"
And when they don't (it seems you need time to understand this sentence) they quickly move when I kill mobs in the time they do 10% HP damage on it. Bots don't like being near me they got no xp at all :D
My theory is when you bot report someone a quick search is done to see if that account has purchased NCoin in the last 60 days; if yes, they're left alone, and if not, well they're still left alone cuz there's zero game surveillance now.

If you watch me for 10 minutes and think I'm a bot, you really need to uninstall L2. And no, I won't respond to you.

It seems that those banned are more "player boting" than "Professional bots": it would seem the pro boters (involved in RMT: Adena collectors and adena spammers) are much harder to beat than the average player using bot software...
I just hope a solution is found real fast cos this give a real bad image to new potential players. :(

I spent some time harrassing him (he was botting all the time but was not afk) and kept shouting about him botting so that everyone in Goddard could hear it. I probably spent around 2 hours doing that (yes I am persistant), and then he disappeared. I did not see this character for half a year after this, until I suddenly met him again in Imperial Tomb - and he was botting again (still?), this time without the wolf and with an ISS stuck to him instead of the previous female healer. It was the time during which you could make bots red by damage reflect, and I made him and his ISS red once that day, and then once again on the next day. And you know what? Since that day I never saw the char AGAIN. Do I think he finally got his deserved ban now? No. I think he will probably pop up again in some months, when I least expect it.
If I even still play in a few months. The botting situation is getting SO out of hand that I think I cannot take it much longer.
Some of the new breed of "We only collect our low-c-grade items from our trainer and then bot nonstop" phantom summoners have put levelling on hold and use silhouette summons to farm day after day in the same place.
Always the same chars. Not like they get banned and replaced with new ones, like the spammers. They are the same chars, so blatantly obvious botting that even my pet wolf can see it. And the cheaters get richer and richer, while the item prices rise higher and higher.

And what did you find out? I see the same player bots day after day after day for months at a time. What is it you see that makes you think they are actually banning toons "probably" every day??

How does it seem the player bots are more banned than professional bots .... they are in different places. The professional bots are NOT the ones you see in harnaks, EG, Orbis. You don't make enough adena from plunder/drops to support selling 1 bil adena for $100 in those areas. I see more people banned for RMT than botting, so where do you see the RMT getting away with it and player bots being banned daily?

What you say has been the case forever. There were toons banned that were unbanned and given rewards for the the wrongfull ban. Those same botters then bragged how they botted, were caught by NC, and then unbanned and rewarded.
Toons that were shown botting on U Tube were banned by NC after public outcry only to reappear a few months later.
Clans full of botters complained to NC that their CWH was broken into (was done by their own Alts) and all items stolen. NC replaced the "stolen" gear.
As long as there are greedy and lazy people in games, there will always be bots.. always..
And the way out of it? hmm, I don't know and I don't really care for finding a solution,- GameGuard is supposed to do it's job,- if it does, I don't know and I don't care either ..
It's really not upto the community to lead the bot hunt, but instead it's upto the developers.. NCSoft NA are just publishers of a premade game, so blame the koreans instead of bashing the NA service, cause it will not help.. We have had bots almost all 8 years, and will have bots the years to come.
Considering spammers in town, do people really think they are using ingame clients to spam? Hell no, they are just flooding the server with msg's (chat packets) with out-of-game software making them even harder to catch/block without doing some changes to the gameserver code.
I hope the new restrictions that have been applied today will help on it, but i highly doubt it if they haven't changed the server code in some way *crossed fingers*.
Blocking all bots would be nice, it might be possible but it's definately not an easy task..

But I remember 4 (5?) years back I was exping sub - summoner.
To mine spot some dwarfy spoiler has come.
Without word just become stealing specific kind of mobs - for spoil.
Problem was that mob was some quest mob who with chance 10% gave some item. I had to have 100 or more items.
During 2-3 days I did send to GM several messages, asking just to take a look. For me it looked so simple - let GM come and 1 min later ban.
Lesson no 1 . GM never comes when you ask.
Deal with it.
Those days I have found easy way to flag bot using pony.
Problem was, bloody bot within 2 min was porting, moving some path and coming to mine exp spoil... again and again....
I think I have killed him 20-30 times but he was keep returning like parasite.
Finally I had got items and move lvl up some other places.
Lesson no 2. Killing bot is pointless even if you not get red.

NCSoft should create automatic ban system for popular bot programs like they do in case of ***** years ago: if you login without Game Guard - you got auto banned on 7 days. Now people use another software, so NCSoft should find a way to prevent using it.
They should just add Adena to the NCCoin system and also add an item to make your char 85 in the NCStore. Give in already NCSoft, either that or make me a GM. I can help clear the scum off the server. I will even follow your methods of determining a bot, I will also suggest ways of improving your methods as they are flawed or the training in detecting is not adequate.

They are not allowed to do those thing unfourtunatley and have to use a set policy created by NCSoft and that takes a long investigation process.
If the investigation takes too long, then there's no reason to even bother enforcing the rules. They need to be able to see a player and be able to make a judgment within 24 hours. Other game companies do it, NCSoft can do it. I've played a lot of MMOs over the years, and Lineage II has botting problems unlike any I've ever seen. The sorry state that Lineage II is in right now in regards to botting reminds me (humorously) of Major League Baseball's battle (or lack of) against doping. They talk a lot about cleaning up the game, but at the same time, they're not doing nearly everything they can to stop it.
NCSoft needs to be more transparent with us. Let us know a little bit about the process (if there is one). Let us know what you can and can't do. If you're losing the battle, just admit it, and let us know what's going on. Understaffed? A lot of us think that's the case. Let us know! There was some talk from NCSoft's end about how they were going to be more outgoing with the community, and I haven't seen it. Otherwise the community just posts and posts, like we have been for 8 years about a situation that never seems to be getting better. We'll never know what this game could've been like, because the developers never gave it a chance. We'll never know what the economy could've been like, because botting and RMT were the reality right from the start, and NCSoft didn't take a hard line against it when they should've.
If things are just going to stay the way they are now, then you might as well throw in the towel and make botting and RMT legal. You'll still sell lots of NC Coins for awhile either way. But if nothing changes, I see a time in a couple years where we're reading about the NA Lineage II servers shutting down because there's not enough players. And the news will be presented like it's just something that happened, players just stopped playing. And NCSoft then, like now, won't take any responsibility for that, and act like they did everything they could to keep the servers profitable.

When the banned account owner logs with a new account this give them a opportunity to see their old character's... in statue form, see all the other banned accounts around them and the legit players walking through all these petrified characters shouting "LOL" and "LMAO". When anyone clicks on the statue of banned characters we can see all the lost stuff in thier inventory.

It's a thought,but I already know the cheater on my server. The server recognizes them as the monthly Heros or I mean the "lol botters who claim to be epic"

I was in a Harnak's PUG and one of the party member over the coarse of an hour asked me several times if I was afk xping. I told them if they ask me one more time I was going to Bsoe and let them die. I was a healer at the time
