Except for all the disconnects of legit players using macro commands in raids, or to notify players of skills in use like BR... yeah, this was brilliant. :P :D
In a week u will c alots of bots spamming the same website...
Lets say if the limit is 1 shouts every 10 seconds. They will just create 20 accounts to get 20 characters spamming... 20 characters will do 20 shouts every 10 seconds. Then the competition adena sellers will also get 20 accounts...
Imo its beter if ncsoft just remove chat from game...
Not all read the forum. Last night a ISS use macro in kartia "Rhapsody in 3.. 2 .. 1" and DC. :D
But is not a bad idea. You can read all shouts in the city with no problem, eventualy you see a spammer, you block and all solved.
If now the players not disconect, at least, use a Ban chat option for spamming macros
A /reportspam (charname)<char> command should be perfect, if 10 or more players do a report in 5 mins, then that </char>(charname)<char><char> gets chat blocked (but only if that </char></char>(charname) <char><char><char> has sent more than X msgs in past 5 mins to shout/trade channel, to avoid abuses).</char></char></char>

except when wartags start doing it to each other, that kind of system would be highly abused. Especially during/after pvp and such when clans are trashtalking each other in shout, which happens frequently
What was the reason why the team did decide to remove the Disconnet idea from the spammer block?.
It was excellent against them, because they couldnt come back, because they couldn't type the PIN codes.
Also was good, that players neither didn't spam to chat with macro, you could read easily many different trade/party requests
What will happen now with the spammers, that they won't get DC what kind of penalty will they get?
The new chat restriction is still in effect and chat bans players server side. The disconnect option was not implemented the way it should have been and was affecting gameplay.
New chat restrictions no longer disconnect players.
Technical improvements have been made to improve server stability.
I'm not sure what has changed since the last emergency maintenance, but it's a fact that multiple people started to get critical errors while standing in towns.
A day before yesterday, I got crit error while standing near the Olympiad manager. Yesterday I got several crit errors in a row while waiting for my turn in the Olympiad (same spot, at the monster derby track). I've never experienced any crashes of that kind before.
Right at that moment, there also were hero shouts informing of other people having the same problem at he same time (heroes got insta-crashed too).
So, it looks like your genious tech team did it as usual: they just can't fix one thing without screwing up a few other things at once.
Suggestion: add the possebility for me to block chat messages that uses certain combination of letters.
Then I can just keep it uptodate myself and dont have to wait for you to fix it.
