Ok, first off, Lineage 2 is considered an MMORPG. That means Massively Multi-player Online "Role-playing" Game. In that respect, each server is naturally an "RP" server.
If you are looking for people to engage in epic pseudo Theatrical semi-scripted bantering, this is not the game for you. You, sir or ma'am, will find this game is not a bustling "role-play" community. But rather, 80-90% of the population you encounter won't respond to "Halt sir!" or "Hail, madam!", or "Perhaps we should join forces and fight this mighty beast".. but rather continue their wholly automated actions against things while they are alt-tabbed watching something on Hulu, or they are spamming websites in town guaranteeing 100% safety and 5 min. delivery of their in game currency for your real life money.. (Which I assure you is against the EULA. That's End User License Agreement, in case you were like: "Huh?") and if they catch you will get you banned.
The other 10-20% which I did not describe either do not speak your language, or are in Teamspeak, Ventrillo, Skype or Mumble laughing at the notion somebody actually decided to play a Massively Multi-player Online "Role-playing" Game with the intent of you know.. role-playing. I don't see much role-play online anymore. it's defiantly a lost art lol.
Back in the days of C2 to C4 me and about a dozen friends would role play a lot just because it was fun. One of my dark elf girls was married to another friends male, even had the wedding dress and went though the entire ceremony. She also had a younger sister played by another friend who always bickered about who had bigger boobs.
Lionna was the official unofficial roleplay server. After 2 server mergers Lionna became Chronos but by that time all the roleplayers had either quit or stopped roleplaying.
So now to my knowledge there isn't any roleplaying, or at least no more overt roleplaying events occuring on Lionna now called Chronos. But I can't really be sure because I haven't been part of the roleplaying scene in years.
There are still some role-players around, though I don't hit the forums quite as much as I used to.

I love rpg´s games, and like they said, this isn´t a very easy game for rpgs, cause the quests are huge, mainly they make you linger for half of Aden, to get, as reward 2k of adenas, sometimes a bit more, like 10k...
The best way to do a bit of that, is to find a cool clan, or a group of friends and just go discover a bit of all! There huge scenarios that nobody now visits because you dont lvl fast there, or the drops just doesnt pays-off!
I miss a bit of old L2 because of that...
As always money, adenas, created a new crisis, and just like now, bots are infesting the world of Aden, bringing prices hugely high, but some seem happy to be just like as it is...
