Returning after years i am really wondering what they did to the classes (class system).
NCSoft just wanted to make classes easier to balance so they merged all race specific endgame classes together to one.
The differences between race specific classes are totally gone. these race specific differences made the class system even more interesting to me. The conflict which i see is, that players chosed classes 7 years ago because of their concepts.
i chosed for example Elven Summoner for fighting alongside with unicorns, or a human Dark Avenger to fight alongside a dark panther. all these concepts... concepts which have been established for years are now thrown away to simplify the class balance ?
the endclasses seem to me just very generic.
Well i refuse to summon "necromancer" pets as an elven summoner.. for me they do not fit into the elven lore. i cant even describe it with words.. its gross. And i think it even makes no sense at all to play a role till lv 84 and afterwards you receive complete different skills. Its like saying "yes you played (almost) 84 levels alongside your uncirons, forget about that... here you have 3 "beautiful" new spam pets... 3 necromancer pets.. or one teddy bear, a tiger and.. yeah" SERIOUSLY?!
well i think you dont read this for the first time in here..
for me it seems like NCSoft wants to scare away old players.. its just so sad. the class system is not logical anymore. it does not built up on existing skills. i think its harsh to do such a step after a lv of 84.. its ridiculous. its okay to "revamp" the class and combat system.. but i never experienced such a stupid idea in any MMO. you cant change a running system after a lv of 84.
Well, right now in Korea there's an ongoing discussion about giving racial differences to every class once more, and I'm not talking about the already existing racial skills.
I've read somewhere, for example, that they're thinking of introducing race-specific summons for the Wynn Summoners instead of cougars and reapers (or alongside them, no idea really). Take into account that it's just a brainstorming phase for now, we'll need to wait and see what the future has in store for us.
By the way, reapers are cute... They're just annoying with skill animations :o
reapers fit to the necromancer class and maybe to the dark elven summoner as well.. but not for the human summoner or elven summoner..
and i cant understand how they can throw away the skills before lv 84... you leveled 84 levels... and then it should end?
i have chosen elven summoner because i knew it has unicorn pets in the end.. and now they completely turn the wheel around and say "ah wait forget about how you played till 84 ... here you have your 3 pet spam reapers... your teddy bear etc."
its just ridiculous. i dont think, that the new Lineage II team can fix what they've done with the last update. it seems like they dont even understand what they have done to the game. Goddess of destruction has sooo many bad opinions and reviews from the playerbase. (as you can see at active player numbers)

The technical details still need a lot of work. Like for example the developers will have to decide whether they nerf the old servitors or boost the 85+ Unicorns to create an "efficiency distance" that motivates people to change to the new 34 class system, but maybe at the G-Star Game Exhibition (http://www.gstar.or.kr/) in November more information will be revealed. Like for example how a "Tank-type Unicorn" is supposed to look :p
I feel my dark elf female healer should be able to run around in a swimsuit instead of robes. I think it fits much better to the lore, and the general appearance of the dark elven female.
I find the current armors gross.
Can we please change the game to fit my specifications? If no, why not, and how come OP thinks his distaste for appearance of pets warrants a change of the game?

This variety has the advantage that it works with an Appearance Stone, i.e. you keep your armor with all Elements etc. "underneath" and can go healing or fighting as usual. God... thats the most stupid thing i've read for a very long time.
but maybe you just dont care about lore/story lore at all. you dont even know why it just do not fit when >>light<< elves, pure and intelligent beings should not be able to summon the undead... which fits more the necromancy role. that has nothing to do with matter of taste. its just ridiculous.as well its not even logical when they summon unicorns, which are also pure beings.. till lv 84. look around the elven village.. you will see unicorns there as well.
Its like making a cleric or priest class to summon skeletons or zombies.
but well you dont care about stuff like that.. you need just your BIG A++++++ sword and one hit kill everyone and you will be happy.
it would be ok for you that me as an elven summoner would be able to summon Super Mario as a pet. and still you won't care. i tell you there is a reason why so many people left the game afterwards, after these thousand comments on youtube saying "thats not Lineage II anymore". and thats right... in 6 years i was not supposed to summon TED the teddy bear with my elven summoner.
so go on flaming your senseless stuff but hm.. but you are right there is no reason for hundreds of negative comments concerning that.
Why the flaming and negativity now? ... People are just suggesting you to stick with reapers and cats or wait for results from Korea. There's nothing more you can do, since you can't edit the summon skins from your end.
I see no problem in a dark magic "cleric", in WoW there are 3 kinds of priests, one of them uses dark magic and summons demons(shadow priest) the other two are healers(one based on direct healing(holy priest) and other based on barriers that absorb damage(discipline priest)).
