I don't see a rule about posting private messages sent from an Administrator to a player. These infractions come via PM so, I have to wonder if we are allow to post these for the public to see since I find that infractions that I have received don't follow the reasoning.
24. Do not post private communication between yourself and NCSoft staff. This includes support tickets, petitions, email or private message correspondence, in game chat logs, etc. Do not post about game account bans. This includes posting an appeal that a ban be lifted, a complaint that an account was banned, or a demand that an account be banned. If you were banned from the game and you wish to appeal it, contact the support team.
Laby is correct in assuming you didnt know of the forum rules. Most ppl do, and then they rage when they violate them and get an infraction.
PS. An infraction is not the end of the world. Think of it as a slap on the hand, its not gonna kill you, just make it a bit harder to post for a bit :D
Depends if they slap points on the infraction. Sometimes its just a warning and no points are given. there were times I've disagreed with the infraction and had it reduced to zero points because it was rather borderline and shouldn't have been given any points.
Right now I'm sitting with 4 points on my account, I've had more,but I don't know how many it takes to get banned. No I'm not willing to push that and find out. Sometimes I make a mistake on how I say something and find out later that it's against the rules...oops. I think it's more or less to remind you what the rules are because this forum had a lot of rules. More than any I've ever belonged to.

Usually it's for flaming, trolling maybe a cuss word or inappropriate whatevers. Accused someone of botting, 3rd party program discussion..uhhhmmm let's see OH encouraging others not to purchase from NCstore.

I save my NSFW and flaming for another forum strictly meant for all such things forbidden here. No it's not related to L2,but a couple people have played L2 there. Such a evil fun forum if you have a thick skin. I've been there since 2005ish.

Matter of fact this account was permanently banned years ago,but after sending a message to a admin a few years after being banned it was lifted.
I don't know if anyone remembers this,but dwarf's summons below lvl 40 used D crystals. Then suddenly they changed it to C crystals and you couldn't crush C grade until 40 so you were forced to buy the crystals from players or have someone higher crush stuff. Anyways I posted a complaint about how it wasn't right that a D-grade player's summons were required to use C crystals when were weren't even of that level to crush the items needed for the summon. This was before Sace and Juji came to the forum. My account got banned for inconstructive criticism.
Coz the 30-40 grind was so bad you had to use a summon?
This was WAY back,like when it was actually harder to crack 40 and do the class change. Most of the time we had someone with big boom and had someone run around on a stryder in the gorgon's flower garden I think it was called and get the mobs, have the dwarf in party,but too far away to get xp and have the big boom stay by the party and blow up the mobs. good times lol
I think the defined line for these rules generally call in the grey area. I mean some of them are just out of this world. Posting a picture, or disagreement with a player yields an infraction? why? The whole lineage 2 game is based on conflict yet, the forums are based on carebear-ism.
You have to send a ticket to support via your NC account. The petition system was closed down until further notice. If you had used search or even just looked at the threads you would see all the threads about bots.

Thread derailment is another one I think is unnecessary,people talk about stuff and end up laughing about something else,well big deal that promotes conversation,but instead the thread gets locked and people get slapped with infractions.

The game is Teen Rated thus the forum should be treated the same. Instead the forum is treated for 5 year olds.

Forum is not "Sace" ... forum is the community and its boring not because "Sace is a girl" but its boring since it got more people than the all 5 servers got players togther , that many posts has been deleted by Sace is not because she is moderator and can do w/e she wants.. but because YOU cant read the forum rules before joing it :)

I think of my infractions as little spankings as well,but meanwhile I know someone else is getting some action too. Although next time I'd like them to use handcuffs, spice it up a little :D
The most absurd and ridiculous infraction I ever received was for the use of an abbreviation "BR" in a general reference to a group of recently arrived players. Believe it or not, just these two letters got labeled as an insult and removed from the post, and it cost me 2 infraction points! ("Insulting, Trolling or Flaming - Do not insult, troll or flame other posters. Attacking and insulting each other is not conducive to a productive, constructive discussion. Attacks against players, publicly in the forums or privately via PM, are not allowed.")
Let's see, there are players that deliberately add "BR" to their names to be easily recognized, yet we are not allowed to mention that identifier when talking about them in general??

I'm afraid, if you write something like "There are US-players, BR-players, GR-players, RU-players and CN-farmers on that server" it will be worth 10 infractions, according to Sace. :( The insulting, generalizing abbreviations such as "US" etc will be removed, and your phrase after moderation will look like this: "There are -players, -players, -players, -players and -farmers on that server"

To clarify some misconceptions, referring to someone's nationality is not an insult in itself. Associating an entire country's people with an insulting comment or notion is an insult on a national scale, however, and unfortunately this often happens in reference to "BR" players among a few others. As that is a developing pattern on these forums, we aim to simply remove any national/country references to avoid potential offense and insult. The forum rules (http://boards.lineage2.com/announcement.php?f=137) explain that if you would like to discuss a particular infraction and the reasoning behind it, to please contact a moderator via private message. Moderation is done on case-by-case basis and there is no reason a player's moderation or infraction history should be made public for any reason. On this point, please remember that another forum rules is that it is not permitted to post private communications on public forums. Hence if you have questions, PM a moderator.
