Healer 95+ Robe vs Heavy.

Aeore Healer Started Last reply 95 posts
Hi all, i would like to know the advantges and disavantges of using heavy and robe in 95+ healers..

I know they have max cast speed, but what about mana, pdef, heal amounts?

Thanks for u attention :)
i use heavy for pvp, oly (beside against chars in robe ofc), and some instances (like epic spez), robe for all other instances or pve.
Ofc heavy give more p.def:
heavy+wizard is around 3.5k p.def (or a bit less i dont remember tbh) and (with dyes ofc) 1700/1800c.speed
I like it a lot for pvp tbh
Robe is good in PVE and oly when you are going to fight with mages, but really sucks in PVP. You are a piece of cake for daggers and archers. I don't know why ppl use it in group pvp after 95 when they have frantic healing to cap casting speed.

For me heavy armor + knight harmony is the way to go in random pvp. I have seen some people using tallum*dark legion duals for max hp and cp too. Also I want to hear opinions about light armor users :).

About mana and heal amounts... If you run out of your mana in heavy, you will run out it in robe, simple. And heal amounts is the same, the bonus that robe gives to our heals is a joke.

Just my 2 cents, cya.

agree, i use heavy+knight too, but not in mass pvp cos i run out of mana too fast, for small pvp (1pt vs 1pt) is ok.
btw i saw too ppl in hvy+duals, but i'm searching opinions about it, how is casting speed with dual equiped? idk but i dont like so much this idea :s
Knights harmony is a terrible buff to use in group pvp! Especially if your only one healer!

Your missing out on 100% extra m.crits which is the major thing that keeps people alive crit heals! Yours also losing out on 20% skill cool down so can't debuff, cleanse or spam your group heals/balance especially important when a tank has you on agro! Plus the fact that mana consumption is a lot less which helps considering you will be using frantic healing more then likely!

Plus the majority of people unless well geared will have low mdef using knights and daring sonata!

I agree with you in some points, but the reason that I used knights harmony is to improve my surbibality in pvp (I know that I have terrible gear, but I'm waiting to hit 95 to put my money in a seraph set).

Maybe after 95 and having good gear the things would be different, but right now I'm the first person in my party to hit the floor in a 7 vs 7 pvp. So, I prefer to sacrifice heal power with a better survability, and also, you loose less time healing yourself because you receive less damage.

I know that the m.def is an issue, but I here in bartz I don't usually see a feoh wizard as a wartag. So, I prefer to focus in daggers and archers, my principal enemies :) (You can see a lot of ppl in this forum crying about healers having 6k+ pdef :P).

Don't misunderstand me, I think wizard harmony is good, but I don't agree why some healers put knight harmony in the garbage.
I think i understand, heavy its for healer's protection in pvp, coz archers and daggers are around, but its low mdef for nuker....hmmm

And but about the dual sword thing, its interesting..

agree, but when u see 2 othells and 1 yul in war pt you know you'll stay alive few if you are in wizard. Yes, i spend more mana but if is small pvp i dont really have any problem, if is a mass pvp then yeah wiz for mana and critical (and i wish for a 2nd healer too tbh)
i dont really use frantic healing tbh, just in case my hp are really down and i need fast heal. i find this skill usless cos of 30% more mp>.<
With Knight and Seraph you have 5K+ P.Def
Have your tank near and daggers won't bother you :)
M.Def will be lowered, but still worth it
Even better would be Seraph heavy+Wiz Harmony...
I wear heavy in oly vs. non Mage and non healer opponents. I wear it at sieges. I wear it in 7v7 when opposing party is mostly dagger/archer dps. I wear robes for xp, raids, some 7v7 (Mage dps), and in oly v mages or healers.

I take wizards harmony whether in robes or heavy. I take knights only in heavy and only in 7v7 vs stacked half killers, oly v 99 daggers, or oly v 99 tanks.

Heavy has about 1k more pdef and about 1k less mdef. It seriously reduces your matk, as well.

I hate wearing heavy armor, tbh. It's philosophically wrong, but in certain situations, the pdef is totally worth it. Frantic heal puts my cast speed around 1950 in heavy with full buffs in heavy armor. Without frantic heal, cast speed is around 1750, which is plenty to keep a party alive in pvp, anyhow.

totally agree, i dont like it too, but when alternative is (talking of 7vs7 pvp) get 1 shot from othell or yul with robe set :/

i went also in siege with hvy set and knight armor, cos my pt didnt had really a big use of mana so i wanted try and i must say, beside feoh opponent (.......), rest of time i had 1 full pt on me trying to kill and i died really few times (most of the time cos of agro from tanks), mana wasnt a problem cos of rebirth. but full buffed i get 5.2k p.def (with turtle buff), is near the p.def of a tank.

and yday i saw oly of a healer in seraph robe, against a tank, he got pretty 5hits. i dont really like robe, only for some raids/kartia/pve
I have heard that OE light armor is also good, but this would be quite some money for experimenting stuff. Heavy armor has crit damage reduction bonus, so I have no idea why light armor would be any better than robe apart some p def increase.
Theres not so many chances atm for healer to stay alive in pvp wearing robe sets in pvp . Robe set and wizard 3.7k pdef and still having good damage from archers and daggers(tyrrs hit hard too), no chances for them when u are using heavy set and knight harmony(with second healer in pt for those pts that are higher than u by 2 /3 lvls and very well geared) u get 5.8k p def in my case and still 1900+ casting speed with frantic heal. Idk final stats from light set. But in some case exchange 4k hp for almost 3k p def and the chance to be alive longer i think is way better.
2 healers / heavy+knight+nodaring+turtle+ironaura+hatpdef or mdef+clan advent lvl5,pdef and mdef subclass and dualclass certi, +15 wit legendary AND if u can, a weapon with acu+manaup = win
and NOT frantic (its sucks)
And then u have to add the jewells, but thats another case.

Thats enought to 1 healer :D. I dont think m def is so irrelevant on healer(is good) but in personal cases i saw the major problem are yuls/daggers even 3 lvl or 4 lvls difference between healer and feoh isnt so difficult to handle with them(tested on my own= feoh 98 and healer 94/95) ofc theres good feohs all around but still major problem is yul and othel.
P.S: is a little off topic but some1 can explain why the tanks block all kind of skills and actions with justice punishment? didnt saw nothing about it in skill description
im not a 95 +
i think to use light (upper/lower for bonus 4.3k hp)
rest heavy armor pieces (and lost the stupid bonus -con from light set)
a weapon with Health
dyes wit/con + accesory (need to test it 1900+cast speed is ok for me)
my dual class is 92 atm , i think to take Max Hp as posible (since u basic skills work in % Hp or the max hp u party members have or many ppl u have in the pt) im not sure yet but probably i can reach 35k+ Hp good defense and very good cast speed.
The harmony to use depends if is there a second healer or if the Iss enchanters "play" the char. i go for wyzard ofcse.
Ps: Against lethals is there some talismans for that
Ps2: Any one knows the cooldown of the lethal skill othel/yul?
Ps3: Ofcs im elf xd
Ps4: Turtle doesnt work in robes or light so i have my dorf 56, i have a hierofant with skills 25+ atribute and a sorcer for pdef buff too XD.
No one has time to log in 3 extra buffers for PvP, nevermind moving them around is a PITA (maybe you have a DC to gate them, too??? Lol)

Since when Healer is for pvp 1vs1?
usually pvps come to me, when ppl saw me in a respwn only means that.
and anyways if some one have time to w8 hours to make stupid dailys and dont have time to log some Plus for pvps..WTF u do playing this game?
^ 35k HP with healer? please, take a screenshoot and post it here. i wanna see how amazing it would be.

while doing random pvp, what really has ****** me off a bit are feohs (with their aerial/pushes) and yuls (with their stun/lethal/hard crits). I manage to survive quite well to othells, 'cause the tree does the trick to keep my cp at least on half. I'd be glad if only they could care to target me.

I'm actually using robe, but I plan to go for heavy when I hit 95+ (or at least light armor, who knows).

No frantic, no daring, knights harmony... even with +15 wit and being light elf, you shouldnt get more than 1.5k cast spd. And there is a big difference between 1.5k to 1.9k cast. I always go wizard, which gives extra reuse. With your setup mentioned 86 wit(+9 from dyes included) being dark elf i have 1296 cast speed, which makes brilliant heal cast quite long.

Good healers go out and PvP, sorry. I know I went out quite a bit ganking people (and winning, thank you) when I was playing healer. It's not hard, especially now with the longer range on nukes. Yes, you take longer to kill. So what. As long as you aren't fighting people that BSOE when they know they're going to lose and take a war death it's not an issue, quite fun, requires a bit of skill, and is a great departure from ganking on more easy-mode PvP classes (like Nuker/Archer).

ok have been long time ago when i post the idea i had.
atm i reach 27k+ a bit more hp and 195x cant remember exactly casting speed.(i only have 2 +4wit dyes and 1 +5 con)
i got wit pendant and pdef pendant.

with the 3erd certificate of dualclass (my feoh its 93 atm) probl will get those 30k+
Robes are currently pointless apart from facing Mage/healers in Olympiad. Due to the insane dmg archers are capable of putting out the health bonus from robes is useless. 35k hp or more doesnt matter when an archer is capable of 20k plus damage an attack.

Wearing robes in PvP is not advised you could use knights harmony and still have less pdef then a healer with wizard in heavy armor and a lot longer cooldown on all skills.. You can still achieve 6k mdef plus in heavy it's the only option imo.
i ask my self how ppl get 99 and dont know how their skills works .
ofce i will not tell u xd.
read carefully what progresive and balance does plz.

i will post the stats when its complete also the pdef i will found the way to be in top even w/o heavy :D

I'm talking from a strictly pvp point of view I'm 99 I have no need for pve! If you believe progressive and balance heal are the main heals that are going to make you successful in pvp.....

Your putting yourself at a huge disadvantage playing with robes I can't currently see a reason for robes in open pvp, less pdef, mana is no issue at 99 with enchanted heals, more hp is useless if you take so much more dmg per hit! M atk isn't needed for healing power!

Yes you could survive for a while but your just putting more resources on the party and the 2nd healer! Tank has to use his ud's, sacrifice and pty rescue earlier to keep you alive!

Feel free to point out any advantages you feel robes can bring in open pvp... After trashing me I expect great answers..
this is from last siege, you can see buffs, i had heavy set ofc, max HP from dual class is just lvl 1 (dual 86), and im 96.
http://i49.tinypic.com/2gvrbdc.jpg

so no way, im happy in heavy set.
Always delete daring sonata useless for healers :p extra mdef is so nice!

My question now is another. Anyone know if "Lindvior" better heavy or robe? I heard the heavy give a significant reduction in stats magics. Sry for me english.
no one knows?
I'm more concerned about robe on 99. Is it good enough to switch from heavy to robe at that level?

For sure not if you plan to pvp any Yul/Othell/Tyrr and even Tank.
my cl its 99 and got near 8k with eternal hvy and 5k+ with robe (95)
u can found many ways to get what u want.
i want bonusmastery and pdef... gogo +++ set.

also dyes/weapon sa/etc

Why would you even consider robes when you can have defence stats like this in heavy. I dont have a dual 95+ either for the extra 9% pdef/mdef bonus also so it will only get higher when i level my dual.

You would have even more pdef in R99 heavy but i prefer the bonus on my +6 seraph set.
ive 7k+ of pdef and 6k+ mdef when im buffed and geared as i said a few months before, also im still missing the 95 certi, so yeah.. :))
Lindvior change skills in Healers with Heavy Set.

This class needs no big changes, but can still have a few tweaks in certain factors. They presently have an issue in which wearing heavy armor is more beneficial because casting speed and such that have max stat limits are not affected by disuse of soul crystal enhancement, as can be seen by not wearing robes or using acumens. Such issues were limited through individual skills and passive skills before the Awakening, but after the Awakening, such issues were overlooked contrary to our intent. Accordingly, we plan to make certain skills only available when equipped with robes or light armor in order to minimize issues such as forced armor exchanges.

Frantic Healing: Skill effect applies when equipped with light armor or robe, MP consumption when using the skill is adjusted accordingly.
Well, have to ask. how about using light?

Remember with set light u still have hp bonus, less pdef than a hvy but more than a robe. And it doesnt have frantic healing penalty (as hvy set).

Someone made the test??

Ill complete a light set soon so ill test stats, dmge received in relation with or without the hp bonus with light and hvy.
No sane healer uses robe in pvp because the light and robe sets have fairly disappointing bonuses, mainly involving HP and pdef (very low pdef) bonuses.
If we had something like the light armor bonus Yul Archers have, probably many healers would choose light over heavy. I mean, getting triggers or higher pdef, casting speed and HP bonuses.

well i got 4.4pdef atm in robe 27k hp and 1999 casting..
miss yet 15% pdef >.< guess will reach 5k in robe

Using knights harmony which puts you at a big disadvantage, robes just aren't viable currently.
Best advice is either carry a light set or combination of heavy/robe set. Know your enemies and know the strength of your team and you'll know what set to use. You can only stay alive so much when 4-6 DDs are bashing you constantly.
even if frantic healing becomes unusable in heavy, I think they will have to make heavy armor un-equipable entirely before healers will stop using it. as it is now, I can get by never needing to use frantic healing so, yea

I'd like to hear from healer who uses frantic healing in pvp and why they think they need it

If you put your dyes into INT boost instead of WIT boost, and/or don't use a weapon with Acumen dual SA... That's probably were you miss your extra casting speed...

I'll bet you anything not a single decent healer will wear heavy in lindvior ;)
I'll bet you anything not a single decent healer will wear heavy in lindvior ;)
You seem to posess some hidden valuable information. So, what is it? :D
(If it's about frantic vs heavy, then you better not bet)
It's not about frantic healing.

The only reason healers need to wear heavy right now is because archers are OP. Since they are getting quite a nerf in Lindvior and summoners/nukers are getting a huge boost, wearing heavy will cause you to get repeatedly one-shotted in pvp by them.

Not to mention that robe {pvp} sets > regular heavy sets.
I thought archers are getting more range, no penalty on stance and more chance to stun in next update, or I was wrong? What is the nerf they are getting? Not to forget the new jewels, some improved istina and octavis for wizards and fighters, not as good as boss jewels but decent enough and with big mdef. This somehow helps mages but also helps the other classes against magic damage. PvP armor sounds nice but the only chance right now to get the stone is from events I think.
The "debuff" effects from stances are removed (i.e siege fire stance won't reduce speed/atk speed) but the boosts are also nerfed. Right now at 99 siege fire stance gives +40% p.atk/skill power/crit dmg if im not mistaken, while on Lindvior the bonus will be +30% p.atk, +20% skill power, +10% crit dmg (exact numbers might be different, but you get the idea).

Stun hasn't been a factor in pvp for a long time now.
But dont they get another stance that stacks with current ones?
Im sure someone will cry about it and try to get it removed though. Not to worry.
+150 range for Sagi (useless), -20% skill re-use for MS (kinda useful), +20% skill power for GS (good for pvp), +15% pvp dmg for Trickster (also good for pvp).

Both GS and Trickster will still hit quite hard, but the loss of p.atk and crit dmg will definitely hurt them.

Also, the skill re-use effect of rapid fire stance gets nerfed, so only MS will have quick fire with re-use below 60 seconds.
Not only that, you have to count other things, such as the fixed debuff duration, stun will always land for 10 seconds (or 20 if proc skill mastery), these things matter for an archer aswell and that stun is rly hard to remove by hits.
I would compare between the same grade of armor with the same enchant values. I know getting two eternal sets is expensive but comparing eternal heavy to seraph robes is a bit much.
I would compare between the same grade of armor with the same enchant values. I know getting two eternal sets is expensive but comparing eternal heavy to seraph robes is a bit much.

Seraph's bonus for Robe recovery type is better than eternal's. Pdef won't make a huge difference.
as a conclusion, your pictures says that seraph robe with knight harmony has about the same or even better some of the stats than eternal heavy with wizard harmony. not to mention, you forgot to put the hp stat since with robe and light you will have like 4.5k more hp. speaking about light, would be nice if you have one around for test, or borrow one.
The difference between some extra pdef and 15 mental resist and 3% m.crit rate? O.o

Missing out on wizard's harmony most importantly has you missing out on 20% reuse and getting that on robes makes you lunch for daggers and archers and God forbid you get hit by the dagger/tyrr/archer CP setup.

On Heavy: 23122/18414/17262

On Robe: 22440/21619/18409

No, i dont have and i'll never have a Light armor on my healer.

And besides the stats on each armor, you have to consider the bonus each harmony gives. I rather use Wizard than Knight cause of the -20% on skills cooldown, -15% MP consumption and +100% Magic Critical rate. I still can ask for knight (if it's necessary) and get +45% extra Pdef, and the shield defense aswell.
Yep, light seems a bad a idea ive try it and didnt like it, ill post stats soon..
http://i46.tinypic.com/154xbp4.jpg

My stats just in seraph heavy normal 99 buffs knights on the left wizards on the right.....

Now please tell me why you would use anything other then heavy in open PvP currently.

There's also plenty of better equipped healers then me on this game.
In heavy atm I will be 3 shotted by R99 Red weapon Archer or Tyr. BUT that still gives me a possible chance to do something before death. In robes, it would be a 1 shot and no chance to do anything.

I have a set of robes and haven't even bothered to put more than 150 ele on it because it's freaking ugly on my race/gender, and I only wear it to do solo sos quest and maybe solo kartia. If I cared to do oly seriously I might bother to finish the element on it.

There is a way to set up light armor usage to not quite suck, but it is still inferior to heavy, so the only reason to wear light at all is when you cannot afford heavy yet, or already have a light set from your main, or you are only pve, etc. For serious purposes and in the case of any pvp light is still last choice.

At least in robes with knights you will still have some cast speed boost and some pdef. Pretty sure light armor with either knights or wizards is inferior to heavy with wiz or robes with knights.
well i got 4.4pdef atm in robe 27k hp and 1999 casting..

As I asked before, screen it or never happened. oh, w8, u'r planning to do this, ok. I bet only if you'r an Orc (max con race), with +15 con, +4 shirt HP, health weap, full clan skills and hp passives as sub/dual skills setup, you could acquire those 27-35k hp as a healer, but really dunno if possible. I guess ya know increasing CON on non tanker char (or a char with normal low con setup, like L/DE) works a bit different, dont ya?

Yep, light seems a bad a idea ive try it and didnt like it, ill post stats soon..

I didnt went to heavy setup after 95+, instead I'm addicted to light armor, and its working quite well. I have +4 seraph light breast, what give me less chance to receive a crit hit and physical hit pdef. with knight + FH on, I have 1900+ casting, pretty enough to instant cast almost all my skills, while using wizard I can roll any instance (FH not being necessary)

with rose buff + full light set, healers can get over 6k pdef (I had 5.6, but not all my parts was +3, and just chest was +4)

anyway, the dmg output from yul is too high atm. even with heavy set, any healer will fall down fast enough in the moment that 1 othell+yul pull on him.
Ironcially I probably have better stats and survivability in heavy armor and wizard, not even using FH to have good enough casting speed.

Does light atleast look hawter on dark elf females?

dont worry, i saw robe in lindvior with almost 6k pdef and that with wizard harmony. i also saw a guy healer with heavy armor this time, having over 30k hp and 45k cp with no con tat. i specifically said heavy because you dont get the hp bonus from robe/light.
Still rockin my vesper. :3
My god.. I really hope that Heavy won't be able to wear on healer soon..

Sad to see all you guys speak about heavy armor. And NOBODY who can say "technically, healer can't play with heavy.."

Rly hope that Lindvior will change that.

(You don't need heavy to be a good healer, just learn to play.)

Ye let the healers use Robe again. Any Yul with 2 crits and also myself as Tyrr i would be more as happy to see that :p
Lol, i win vs tyrr at same lvl than me in oly, i use robe only.
Last time i won vs a 99tyrr too (I'm 96)

And i never get 2 shot by yull.
(Except 99yull with weap ++)

Oly =/= open pvp
I say in oly because it's 1v1 so better to explain but if you prefer, sunday in siege, we was 5 in pt (without tank) and we stayed alive +/- 20 minutes vs 2party with some 99..

Heavy don't do all and don't really help you to learn to play healer.
Heavy just help you to be a noob.. And when you won't wear it anymore, what will you do? Learn to play again? Oo
What does have heavy armor to do with player ability?
Nothing, that's what i'm trying to explain..

Heavy don't help you to be a good healer.. It change nothing..
Being a pro healer is meaningless if you are 1-shotted. No matter how high your APM is or how well played your tactics are. If you are dead in 1 hit, it does not matter. No matter how good you say you are in robes on these forums that archer on BR and ME will still 1 shot you and that noob healer in heavy will be replacing you.
One Shot? I want to see that.

What will you do when heavy won't be possible to gear anymore in healer? You will play with 4 Iss in heavy? Healer will disappear from the game? Because they only get one shot?
I don't think so.
Uhm, actually, any archer can one-shot you.

And at the present state of the game, healers still don't have penalty for wearing heavy armor. Frantic Healing is a minor "penalty"...
So enchant a minimum your robe.. Mine is just +3, upper +4 and full elem lv7 and i never be os by a yul --"
Time to move on from harnak pvp.

Lemme tell you, even at 99 with full buffs +6 R95 Set (more pdef as +4 r99), + Turtle Buff i get from time to time 20k++ crits from Yuls.

And as for being pro as healer in Robe:
Jump Attack + AD + Power Bomber + Mega Strike and Robe users are down.
Good geared Tyrr even 2 hit Robe users with AD+Mega Strike. Wonder how you will heal in less then 0,5sec.
Lol really strange so. Never happened to me and other healers in my clan.

What kind of ppl are u pvping ?

Mine is +4. With Mind's Eye, Armor Destruction and whatnot on, I fall down pretty easily...

u pvp with bots?

no healer in robe +4 can beat math.
Time to stop pvping in harnak

I lol'ed....
In lindvior, only can to use robe & light.... the heavy armor is off in those chronicle :D..... the set robe is better, enchant the superior robe mastery & the p def increase & status for set robe is better than the set light

Niet.

That's a no. Maybe I'll be forced to keep daring sonata during PvP fights, but that is still much better than wearing robe set.
likewise, the set robe with mastery (pasive) +10 is better, i hate the healers with heavy set. They cast. 1999, but increase the WIT status (+7? +8?, maybe) but this status (WIT) increase the reuse skill. Several healers with heavy armor are fail. The healer with robe armor, dont need WIT status (+2,+3 max.), your reuse is fast.

I saw healers with armor robe resist more than a healer with heavy, is only technique & know how to play as healer.

i knew that in Linvior the use of armor heavy in healer cant because the reuse skill increase by havent armor mastery heavy....also remember to be obligatory awakening skill learning.

excuse me. my english is medium low :P

lol what. provides links to confirm this information

most healer skills have fixed cooldowns, not affected by wit. and yes I can easily max cast speed in heavy.

point of heavy is to live thru 20k crits of archers and tyrs, impossible in robes
ALL healer skills are unaffected by WIT. What you can do to decrease the cooldowns, is to take buffs, Wizard Harmony and some epic jewel with reuse reduction... Works wonders!
lol my 99 healer and my 85 healer both in heavy dont have any difference in skills cd.
yeah in heavy i lose cd, but since in pvp the skill you use most is panic heal, i doubt i care of the 1-2sec more reuse on balance.
Panic heal is spammable, purge is spammable, only ''problem'' can be on balance and b. purge, but tbh i prefer my 7k p.def, i may have more cd but a dead healer dont heal at all.
and why everyone say 'healers will not wear heavy in lindvior' lol only thing is you cant use frantic healing, wow, i've 1900 c.speed in heavy and knight; and more mana consumation, again, wow, acu+mana up.

At this point, you'd want int for your nukes and heal amount...

This game's stat system is incredibly broken. I just stopped caring about PvP and became a PvE carebear.
