Is that ssylm (or however you pronounce his name) the level 99 archer with the +15 r99 dual SA 300 element weapon with reflect and the recently acquired +6 r99 light set level 7 element x3 and the +10 Heavy arrow rain and multiple arrow?
I know that pay to win archer. Back when he was in fatnecktigers he was nothing... then he broke out the autoparties, sold characters for cash, bought tons of NCcoins for exp, bought destruction scrolls left and right and decked out.
Then when glory days comes out and his clan wars all the little clans and they can't quit without dropping 5k clan rep, the server will start to slowly decline. I'm pretty sure the same will happen on other servers. Soon we'll be down to 1 or 2 servers of pay to win players that will end up trying their hardest to sell their characters after they've bored themselves to death.
Then the servers will remain dead until another crazy promotion for the chapter 3 update brings in a few players.
I think it's slssm, don't pay much attention to other ppl on the server due to me getting screwed by server time change, but yeah. And I agree partially, +10 skills don't even compare to red weapons though. At 98 I have 7 skills at +10, sure it's pricey but not on the level of a red R99 weapon.
Specifically speaking for shilen, it's because the Vietnamese run the market, they buy everything up and then jack the price way up. I'm also 100% positive that one of those VN guys was running Blackhouse(an automated buffer in town for those who don't play on the server). I remember looking at his monthly sales stats and it was something like 600,000 private sales at 70k? per buff i believe. 42b right there.
Also one of the guys from the same clan offered 38b on my blessed anthy.....just lol at anyone having that much adena.
The guy who runs blackhouse and igi comes from a recently closed private server. He used to run a full party of dominators that ran a long chain of flames of invincibility during castle sieges while engraving along with using them for mass CP healing and chain healing when the server updated to high five. He had automatic clan hall buffers there as well. I've known the guy for a bit.

These people don't play for fun, they play to win, they are mentally sick and take virtual competition to extreme levels, he will give any money to buy "hapiness", very sad.

Nice weapon, someday it will be just like a +16 Homu :-) the game updates often and top gear becomes . . . outdated. Enjoy while he can.
Devs said awhile back in an interview that they were going to focus on the gear that was in-game already, not add new sets. So it might be obsolete way down the road, but not anytime soon.

People spend more money per month in the cash shop versus $15 a month to play. Pay per month now days is a fixed avenue of income/profits however you want to name it. With the cash shop the profits are endless possibilities. These days players don't want to invest months or years trying to get anywhere in a game. They want it now and will buy it if they have to. Adena is being bought in order to have the best gear. You can't buy gear in the shop so players turn to the adena sellers.
As said in another thread GW 2 has an exchange system that turns your shop currency into game currency. It has killed the need for money sellers. L2 is the perfect storm. They don't offer game currency in the shop,BUT they do allow you to sell bonus items from the coin cards at gamestop and the recent promo items. The only problem this causes is that when the server is loaded with rich players the price of items become so expensive that no one can afford them. This is what happens on private servers because the adena drop rate is high.
I think the key to making this fair to all players is offering an exchange system or adena bundles in the cash shop. There's people who can afford to spend money and I don't think there is anything you can do about it unless Nc limits what people can buy per month,but then again its the fixed income issue again.

I don't deny they're related, just trying to avoid that whole aspect because nowadays anytime rmt or bots are mentioned the thread is immediately locked.
That's interesting about GW2, I've seen L2 servers use a similar system where whatever currency is used(we'll just say adena to keep things simple), you can obtain special currency through daily events and exchange them for a greater amount of adena, say 1:1,000,000,000. So the same concept except backwards, and change whatever special item I mentioned to NCoin. The only reason I never sold that anthy is because A) it's a rare jewel so it's nice to have, and B) I don't even know what I would do with that amount of adena besides buy useless ****. :rolleyes:

That's how it starts. I remember the first red weapon on shilen, it was an apoc bow that belonged to some useless SR. Now look at the number of red apoc retributers. And I have a feeling that the DEWR promos aren't over yet.
Tbh, the high OE weps only really made a huge difference to archers and mages (and mage weps are wtf hard to OE). I get where you're coming from, as selling power was a mistake imo, but just thought I should point out that most melee DDs dmg comes from skills, and patk is still not a very big deal in that formula.
PS- I realize the pic is of an archer, but just putting a positive spin on it overall :)
As an archer i can tell you the difference with +3 and +15 is missirable compared to the difference with +10 passive skills (mostly Bow mastery and Crit mastery and i got them both to +10 at lvl 92) and +15 STR dyes. There is some, but not what you'd expect from +15 weapon. Even with the Blessed items it's ot that great. It's getting vast if you've learned Archer's Will (something i'm really annoied i couldn't do b4 awakening). The real power comes with the +10 Active skills and PvP options on the weapons.
With +10 Bow mastery, Crit Mastery and Pinpoint shot, it doesn't matter if you hit with +15 R99 or Clean Requiem. The dmg from skill enchants its just mindblowing.
tbh, I feel fooled, either by NCsoft with his greedy for money, or by the player that cheats to the max level of things for the sake of win, or even by me, that keep loggin in with the high hope of some change (that never will occur, from what we can see right now). Before this "ease fever" that NCsoft had introduced with such things like Destruction Enchants, if you'd see a player running with a red weapon, you knew all the risk/effort that he putted on that matter, 'cause it was a game of "all or nothing" to him, and even if he was your enemy, you just could feel some respect for his guts. And the most sad part is to realize that even the guy running with all red weapons/OE sets, the majority of them just suck playing the game, at the end.
These people who waste thousand of dollars on L2 Store keep the servers online

this pic dont make me feel anything...it does make me think his parents need to take away his credit card tho. as for the enchanting aspect itself...i was told ( i dont know for sure myself as i dont have a nice red weapon at R Grade ) by an archer in my clan ( who is filthy rich ) that when he OE'd his apoca bow, it started to glow Red at +7 ( not like the days of old when red was+15) and at the higher lvls ( like +15) would glow a "white" color. Like i said...im not sure if this is in fact the case as all i have is a +4 apoca weapon. Can anyone verify this for me? thx in advance :)
Here is something ppl need to look at. #1 the chances of the "Average" person competing against this person is low to say the least as he is NOT going to OE his weapon to compete with lvl 85-90 unless he is a Griefer ( which is ALOT of the server ) so most ppl dont even have to worry about crossing paths with this guy. #2 If he is so worried about lvling up...he wont be anywhere near the places the "Majority" of the server lvls ( hence ya wont run across him at all) #3 In time, he will get bored with the game cuz he has all the top gears and weapons and can prolly kill most anything in the game with a few hits and we can say "Bye Bye" to him cuz all he'll have to do is PK ppl ( and as much fun as it is...will get very boring after awhile ) #4 when he does quit the game due to lack of content, he will be looking at his CC billing statement over the past few months and realize how stupid he was to pay real money for Pixels and then kick himself in the butt ( which has no bearing on the rest of us ) and finally #5, who really cares?, certainly not me as i know it is nothing but a "Passing Fancy" and one day he will move on. :p

Agreed, they're appealing to the wrong crowd imo. I would think the better business plan would be to appeal to the masses and make thousands of small to moderate sales rather than a few large sales. Approaching like that, if a few people leave that spent a small amount of money each month then no big deal. If a few people leave that spent hundreds a month you will definitely feel the impact financially.
Wait when they have chance to put pvp option on r99, then will be bad.
I don't see that happening for awhile, they made it easier to get that stone in some upcoming update so everyone that participates gets credit rather than the top ~10, but nobody even does the campaigns on any of the servers. It would take several zergs on a server to try and push the tax campaign.

Some 3 years ago i left the privates EXACTLY because of ppl like this guy.....
its sick!!! And i see my game falling even more deep to the hell....
There's always going to be those people out there that have deep pockets and can afford things like this. I'm just thankful that there aren't a lot of these kinds of players.

One example… kids play basketball around the neighborhood for fun, colleges have basketball programs to win (student enrollment) along with making money and professional basketball organizations play to make money. No matter which “activity” we choose there will almost always be able to identify these three levels of connection to what motivates people’s involvement.
So, let’s not worry ourselves about what the other guy may purchase or how long they can grind during the day. Enjoy what you have and the friends you've made.
