I would go with either : Feoh Soultaker for the strong magic defense debuff skill or Feoh Soulhound for the passive M. Crit increase that could make them have more magical critical rate then light elves.
Also Soulhounds have a nice Paralyze debuff & power defense self buff.
I hope necro started his return, but since i dont know sucess landrate of this new 'gloom'',i cant say anything, still will miss all his other skills(pet/transfer pain/nuke equal to deathspike ect)and why kamael feoh exists and has ''paralyze'' skill?since its necro who had the original paralyse=ancor in game, kamael could keep the mass paralyze and necro take back the single one.Atleast!
Most ppl play de feoh beoucouse most of them see highest matk number. but rly good feoh knows that matk ist everything )) gl with DE guys )
Many went DE because of the way skill stacking worked before some more recent updates. Being able to keep Empowering Echo and Arcane Power on a DE Feoh gave it ridiculous M.Atk stacking advantages over other races. When you take that into perspective, yes, it was a no brainer to go DE otherwise you were willfully gimping yourself. There was no other choice outside of aesthetics.
As for the Soultaker Gloom isn't enough. It wasn't the end-all-be-all before GoD and it won't be the end-all-be-all in GoD. Have to know how they will be further diversified after that.
It's actually a bit reckless for the Dev Team to implement these types of changes without giving the player base a decent roadmap IRT where they are going with these classes. There simply isn't enough information.

Agree with all that, but on god,i remained a human wizard without empo echo or arcane power or disparisition and still won over all darkelf nukers huhuhu
human wizard missed all that, but had other goodies if you knew what you were doing :p
if necro gets a gloom with 100%land that reduce -50%defense,i dont care how much matak or reuse the others will have heheheheheheee.

Clearly you hadn't been nuked by a stacked/tatted DEF Feoh with a Red 300 Attribute Retributer and full buffs stacking Emp Echo and Arcane Power. I have. You'd need help to win as a gimpy human unless they were so bad they could more easily have just walked away from the PC to let you win, anyways... They could Dispirate and destroy half your HP easily. There's a reason why people cried endlessly about those buffs until they were nerfed.
The damage differential was just too great. Skill only accounts for so much. At some point the damage disparity gives them too high of a margin of error that it really doesn't matter how much better than them you are, especially since with Attributed gear your damage was laughable compared to theirs. This is similar to a level 90 PvPing a level 99. No matter how good you are, you're going to need help to win because the damage difference is just too big if they are decently geared, even if they're still wearing Immortal Gear.
It's not about M.Atk. M.Atk doesn't scale that well and raising it doesn't matter all that much unless you have stacked buffs like Emp Echo and Arcane Power (and/or BR) boosting it up by multiple thousands of M.Atk each. Unfortunately, the StSc Feohs back then had both of those (or all three in group PvP/Seiges).
The issue is burst damage. Gloom won't help you kill a healer (or anyone) that simply cleanses themselves (or gets cleansed) 1-2 seconds later, for example, but chaining to high powered nukes that can crit for a ton of damage will. It won't really have that much of an impact on your soloing proficiency, either. But those busters and AoE busters will.
Those buffs were a big deal for PvE and PvP. A leveling DEF Feoh with those buffs was simply superior to a Human. The benefits were too good, so people went DEF instead.
Doesn't matter now as Emp Echo has been obsoleted, but it did matter back then.
Most people didn't go Kamael because Kamael Feohs are awkward to level up given the end class is wildly different than the starting classes.

I am AtaRtH Trenshero,i am in DH clan, the party of my clanleader is full of darkelfs with red weapons we try together our skills so we know how to kill enemys faster and i pvp against SH top partys also full of all kinds of red weapons and much more...

Elaborate please. I see no chance for a human Feoh over a Dark Elf feoh. You need to completely outplay the other Feoh, but once you have an equally good player, he should win against you in oly. Depends again on arcane barrier cancel, but still, the dark elf has the better odds.
I agree that debuffs are what kill people. Gloom will be powerful even too much powerful, but it will really depends against what group you play. Against a group with 2 good healers, without a perfect assist, the burst comming from the new "vortex-crusher" combo is much better. However on paper with everything perfectly done the gloom will do better. And again it depends on what group you are. Gloom will be useless in a group with fighters, but if you are 2-3 nukers, then hands down gloom wins.
I really doubt Necro will be much better than the other Feohs in oly. In 1v1 - maybe, but against the other classes - not really. Maybe and just maybe Necro Feoh will do better against summoners.
I have played a soultaker for 2-3 years and I was totally dissapointed from the class. I admit I missed all these necro chronicles and I played during the most tough necro periods, but still, I would have taken the gimp archmage over necro everyday. Right now I am also thinking to take archmage over necro. Just the current Feoh concept says "AoE damage".

Well,i am not the kind of player who searches on each update which is the OP class to play.
I was necro since the begining of my ''life'' and i really felt in love with. All classes in L2 had their best and worst times, but since a well played necro was a class that was solo killing 1 party, even in his worst period was solo killing 1 toon or 2.
On the first class diversification, classes not fully return,so really i cant say if the 1 debuff that necro will have will make him win against 1 sts with max dmg.I dont know how the skills ''unless hell'' that now dont work will land then,if they do land 100% i doubt sts new skill will have more power and necro has those skills. If they remake the classes correct,he has to win vs another nuker even with a very small difference. To have a 100% win, necro has to take back his pet and transfer pain too.
maybe you forgot they had more than just a pet and transfer pain. physical silence, magical silence, paralyze, gloom , decrease heals and what not. now mages are like all about dps and aoe with totally other kind of debuffs.
for the people still lvling up to 99 they should consider pve too. is it gloom going to land on bosses or it will fail 100% just like devils curse? if its the 2nd, it will be not only the gimp pvp class because of cleanse and people that time cleanse at milliseconds but they wouldn't be invited as dd either in pve instances to gear up. idk how much is the increase of m.atk of sts over the other mages with lvl 2 passive but i'll take that -10% reuse on skills, having reuse time neck plus this passive and augment, i might like circulating my self buffs and attack skills over and over.
The thing is im a soultaker/feoh and im not that bad in oly i beat tanks far above my lvl and pretty much any class.. archer and othel tho are very hard to kill with their half kills it takes just 2 hits to get you down so basically you have to kill them with HB+DC/WS/AB - in oly i use DC-WS right before the match starts and if things arent going well i hit AB,
AB I don't like to use even tho it makes u invincible(and it let me win a couple of matches)but i usually run out of mp before the opponent runs out of hp.. especially has good gear..
also with summoners and healers i have used the infamous Death spion(y i was desperate) and to my surprise i regend hp from 400 to almost full
which turned the tides(oh and btw summons died meanwhile) I think i won those more because of surprise factor it had on my opposition rather than the skill being that much usefull.
now im still not sure what we will get after livindor but boost is a boost and if im good now im going to rock everything after that :D what I'm hoping on is that update helps me with othel/archer/healers and makes battle more even rather than being at huge disadvantage from start(every win against them is basically and upset) otherwise im good as i am and ive killed dark elf feohs higher than me.. also i rock in party pvp with hell bind and mass hell bind and aoe elementals

1. Gloom lands reliably on MOBs, all indicators state.
2. The StSc Passive is only a "1 Level" Boost over the Soultaker. The only time the M.Atk is a factor, is for people who are rolling/Awakening Feoh Wizards after Lindvior launches - in their cases they are locked to the Feoh for their Race (Human or ST for Human, StSc for DEF, MM for LE, SH for Kamael). For those of us asking now, we can go either class on our toon when the update launches so that M.Atk difference is a bit of a wash.
3. With just a reuse neck the skills still don't recycle all that quickly. I am not sure an extra 10% will be all that huge outside of Cooldowns, but stacked with cooldowns it may be quite powerful. We haven't seen how it's going to work together yet, though, so the jury is out on that.
Personally I think they missed an opportunity for better balance when they didn't address the buff disparity: Add Magic Crit Damage to Mage Set Bonuses (particularly Twilight needs it, at least) and add Magic Crit Damage bonuses to buffs that give Physical Crit Damage. Also need to add it to Counter Crit proc. An easy place to address this is in the Feoh Sigil Bonus. Remove MP Regen, add 5% Magic Crit Dmg.
I personally don't think Mages will be competitive with physical DDs in high end PvE dmg output. I think the gap will be somewhat shorter (esp with the correct class stacking) due to the boosts, but Archers and Tyrr Warriors will still be better, and easily so, because a lot of the issues mages have aren't really in the skills but in the buffs and itemizations and NCSoft is too afraid to denerf some things due to fear that they will get abused easily.
The average mage simply doesn't Crit enough to make up the ground, and physical DDs get a ton of dmg from their non-skill melee crits due to their higher crit mods and better/more efficient use of epics right now.
Video with 3k non-crit archer hits, then crits for exponentially more dmg, for example (hundreds of times for). Mages cannot achieve that kind of damage scaling in crits, and certainly not at the rates an Archer/Tyrr/Dagger can achieve them (nor at their speeds in most cases).
I did vote to Archmage right. I'm not Feoh, but I think nowadays the PvP and often the XP too got higher focus on the AOE skills and as we could know from the skill lists, the Archmage is who will be the most powerful AOE wizard.
Soultaker I guess will be the best against Raid Bosses.
Storm Screamer will the best in 1vs1 PvE.
Soulhound will might be the best in 1vs1 PvP.
Mystica Muse will the wizard what will be the balanced one. Through its fast casting speed and reduced skill re-use will use all of its skills very well, but won't be so good as the different specialized wizards in different area of fights.
I think this is the way how all of you should decide, what class stands to closer to your taste, that you like to PvP or PvE or you like to make mass PvP or mass PvE or maybe all of them a little:).

The MM looks balanced when you consider it in a vacuum but when you you realize that unless someone awakens before the update their MM will be Light Elf and the StSc will be Dark Elf things look a bit differently.
I still think the Elf Race needs a stat balancing and I think overall the races need to be bought more in line with each other base stat-wise with the differentiation being the actual Racial they acquire when they awaken (like the Crit Dmg for Dark Elves, which Light Elves also lack and that stat comes at a premium in this game for Wizard Classes, currently).

I'm LE from ages and I see 2 simple ways to bring balance to LE vs DE.
1st Remove LE (or DE ) from game :p
2nd Remove 1999 cast speed cap.
With good reuse, fair critic rate and with cast speed up to 2500, even with relative low dmg I think it would be fair.
But heh we play L2 ruled by NC where for some reasons Korean hates LE from C3 onwards.
For now: or you delete LE or just keep hating yourself playing LE as I do all the time ;)
Spoken like someone who has absolutely no clue why casting speed was capped to begin with.
No, it should remain capped at 1999.
Do you know WHY casting speed is capped at 1999?!
Huh I guess you were working with designers of L2 before 1998 :)
Can you enlighten me?
----
Truth is cast speed 1999 was sky high at C2-C5 when most what you could get was 1300-1500. And that time LE mages were consider as top one even having bad M attack compare other races.
Key was fast cast speed + critic rate.
After introducing 3rd class skills (PoW/CoV etc) when 1999 could be reached MM role become problematic, but still critic rate was advantage to other.
Nowadays I think all classes can get 1999 (if they want) and critic rate from sub class / BS / items makes MM with his low dmg just annoying opponent not deadly enemy.
Ofc instead of removing 1999 cap we could consider mess up with reuse of skills and set reuse 20-30 % shorten on all skills as base for LE... but that could create sea of tears ;)
if they increase atk speed or cast speed cap the servers will crash more often. that is one reason. on our current servers with cap cast speed or atk speed, bss or ss dont load at every atk/skill when servers are heavy.
What LE could use is higher m.crit rate passives, 'coz right now its laughable, could use at least +50 or 100 m.crit rate. I even changed one of the Lv5 INT legendary dyes to 5 WIT, and still sitting at 291 m.crit rate.

Not a smart idea bro. WIT does not change much stat wise. There are other ways to increase m.crit damage that are costy, but efficient - valakas/(bless), lilith soul necklase, talisman. Now with lindvior you will have new epics for that too.
I am posting my question here rather than starting a new thread.
I am concerned about which diversified class to choose. It seems that one of the new level 99 xp zones is an aoe party area, and the other a fighter single target area (from lindvior preview site). This being the case, wouldn't an archmage be the prefered class to take to the aoe zone over an Sts or Soultaker? So my concern is that choosing one class over an another may result in not being chosen for some xp parties. Or am I overemphasizing class differences and limitations after the update?

I am unsure what it takes to aoe the new spot but if it is anything like it is now shadow snare is the main reason for having a nuker in party so tyrr can mow the mobs down. The differences at least for now aren't really that big especially when considering aoe zones. STS will hit harder even on it's aoes so still viable for sure. Archemage well people just love to hate them as they always have.
Took Soul Taker, and never been happier with feoh so far.
Best thing about mages in PvE is devil's curse and Dark Curse both finally landing on bosses, which gives us quite a dps boost. And by "quite" i mean at least 2 times bigger crits, if not more.
Same thing in pvp, both debuffs landed perfectly, alto it was 1 v 1 pvp, not the party one, which would make debuffs less desirable.
Any other feoh's opinions on other specs? Really interested in Storm Screamer.

I also chose Soultaker, and so far I am loving the damage. I am going to try StS next week or even this weekend and see the difference in dmg. I've heard the vortex skill isn't landing as much as some would like, but that was only after a few minutes testing with some clannies. I'll check for myself and see what its like.
I want to see if the dmg bonus earned from -80% m.def with the + 7% from wizard mastery (ST) is better than the -30% m.def and + 10-15% m.atk (STS)

Afaik devils curse and gloom don't stack. At least that's based on dps tests people have done on rochand. So 50% debuff on ST or 30% on the others.
edit: to clarify.. they do stack but the effect does not stack.

Well, i just tested stacked damage on lvl 91 iss with 2400 mdef and 60 wind resist.
Damage with Elemental destruction +10 with dark curse were 42-45k crit, and with devils's curse +9 (-9% mdef) and dark curse 67-69k crit. Tried it few times and were getting same results. So i think they actually stack.

I have to agree that the %s do stack. Tested on a clannie, tried applying one debuff and then the other, and the m.def dropped on each application.
i tested 3 feohs soultaker/soulhound/and sts/ soulhound is by far superior in pvp,
soultaker is good on paper but u physically cant cast that many skills in pvp its too slow... before u use debuff double cast wizard spirit.. you're already dead. i was fighting in coly and i virtually died between the time i clicked on a skill and it finished casting it was terrible(my hp was full and i have +6 set) so just plain ****** me off...
the defense skill for soulhound makes more difference and can outplay sts if u play smart.. sts itself is a paper and if you are attacked and first hit is delivered by enemy you are dead most of the time, however if you are the one attacking you have the upper hand.. same can be said about soultaker if u get to cast 2 debuffs you do immense damage probably one of the biggest in game... but in the real world nobody will let u cast 2 debuffs on them and get away with it... it just takes too **** long and no matter how good your armor you still die in one blink of an eye :/
In pve Soultaker is best the debuffs land 90% of the time and cooldown is very short so it speeds up most instances
So i would say Soultaker best pve and for lvling
Soulhound best pvp
and sts somewhere in between them

In short I do agree 100%.
I can add, I tested MysticMuse (as I'm LE from ancient past) and that is now far worse nuker class. Reuse skill in pvp or pve is practically invisible.
Soulhound skill paralize land rate in PvE is superb.
In HF when we were doing 50 quest I could keep around 80% mobs in perma paralize state. In pvp skill was not so good. I did pvp against 99 lvl people maybe one it landed on healer and 2-3 times some melee who jump on me. Reuse of skill is 2.5 sec(?) and it let you to spam it. Soul Barrier is just excellent. With crystal form and + extra skills i feel far more comfortable in pvp but also in pve.

In most cases soulhound now is good in pvp not so paper anymore , BUT ! Until u meet necro :D.trust me u will go down FAST VERY FAST . Its like your opposite class vs him u have no chances.
Btw about feohs and diversation :) I was suprised of kamael diversed into necro.Thing is he kept pasives from 3rd class oO . As far all probably know Kamael necro is able to keep 20% reuse pasive and 10% pasive for matk. Awww :). So i presume that there will be a lot difference between each feoh dependant on his race and kept skills.Forgot to mention : still have my painkiller :D

I just tested gloom works perfect -- mdef
then i tested gloom look mdef then put on devils look mdef its even more less mdef. So ? it does reduce mdef and they stack.
and you can use even more debuff for - mdef :D so far i have 105k crit in pvp .I presume its unhealable damage ).

Then people should find a soulhound, plvl to 99 and turn him into necro in 30 days?Same for other classes.Ncwest messed up again, toons should rewaken according to their race/class.
In that case I would be Mystic Muse...naaah, I'm glad they did that :).
Alto, they should have made Lindvigor test server so people could actually see what they would get and don't bother with those scrolls.

That was impossible due to them putting in the stone of destiny back when, and then selling them in the store.
Also, the people blindly going Soultaker to pwn this update may find themselves discontent next update when elemental nukers get pretty decent PvP boosts and the damage differential between them and the Soultaker begans to widen up again. It will be interesting to see how many people come crying asking to go back to their elf class then, :P

I actually took ST just because we're getting a pet with 60% transfer pain.
I will be doing my own tests on StS this weekend. However, I was in a group with someone who may or may not have fully understood my question. But I was asking him (he's an StS, I'm a ST) what his avg from spike was. He claimed in was 11-15k on the same mob where I was hitting for 2-4k. This was with Devil's Curse and Dark Curse. His m.atk buffed was 44k, whereas mine was 30k. Does that 10k m.atk really increase dmg that much? I'll check for myself, but would like some other opinions on the dmg on StS vs ST.

In a group settings its more depend on a debuffs on mobs not just from you but from other players, such as iss or lumi with mdef debuff.
And 14k matk difference doesn't equal 4 times damage since m.atk scale very poorly, at least compare to p.atk.
I will be switching to StS too, just too see the damage increase, but really doubt it will be major one.

I will be switching to StS too, just too see the damage increase, but really doubt it will be major one.
Yah. I really like Soultaker even if some people think we're only picking it because it may be the FotM. Nevertheless, in episodian we're getting summons and transfer pain :) , but StS is getting 25% m.atk from empowering. Then again, empowering will = 35% extra mana usage, with arcane power StS will be running out of mana quickly.
Well you can atleast get a feeling of the damage vs ST dmg. Let me know please ;)
It's about the same, but I didn't took 4 levels of matk yet, only 1 and don't even have buster, working on SP now :)
Matk about the same, 50k atm, no different than ST. But I was testing on mobs in cemetry, they die from 1 hit anyway on both classes.

Well I am only lvl 95, but with +4 spec retri (emp), 115 INT, seraph robe, +5 passives, I have 31k m.atk

Just went to solo kartia, never seen 30k crits before on last boss with lvl 2 buffs and no sonatas, so maybe there is something to it :)
Oh, i've got regular gear, +4 ama retributer, +6 R99 set and +5 passives. And only 110 int, with +15 dyes. Light elf, what else to expect :)

Then people should find a soulhound, plvl to 99 and turn him into necro in 30 days?Same for other classes.Ncwest messed up again, toons should rewaken according to their race/class.
If you want to keep some old passives and old actives and you want to combine class + race you need to get account which is prelindvior awaken and not changed skills until now. Because i supose if you lvl up human prophet now and awaken you are entitled to be only human iss prophet with only human skils and stats. And basicly you dont get those advances as prelindvior chars lvl 85 with awaken quest.
:D i wonder thou is there any Big orc soultaker with arcana power. To think about all those class combinations there should be so many variations that i even confused lol. Destiny stone and after this class diversation is imba :)
I actually took ST just because we're getting a pet with 60% transfer pain.
I wasn't talking about you. I went ST as well, because that's what I played before and I do know that they are restoring it's original flavor next update, which may not be the type of class many of the people going ST actually want to play.
That is why it's good to look at upcoming updates. So you can make informed decision and not have any surprises when an update comes and fundamentally changes your class (the way GoD did for many people, and the way Lindvior can possibly do for some people who awaken a class because they get one good debuff skill).

I played an Sts before GoD but chose ST because of their gameplay in later updates. However, I'm curious about the extent to which they will be sought after for grinding parties. I expect the game will take a turn and restore more grinding areas rather than dailies ( I hope), and so I hope we will be viable in parties (e.g. DV Leeches). I will still try out StS, the extra m.atk from the passive, and in the future empowering echo is appealing. However, the mana usage worries me, especially for raids. For some zones, herb drops will mitigate the extra mp usage. But any input here would be appreciated. I like to hash out every factor to make a proper decision.
Why unleash hell/mass hell nuker 99 skills still fail ????
I read they fixed them, their cast has been improved, but they still do no dmg, they get resisted!
Wizard Spirit for fear, fear jewels and it will land. Not the best skill though. I have not used it much.
The good think is that if it lands the fear effect of it will not be interrupted from hits

That skill is called "Expert Casting" and provides 20% reuse reduction and 10% casting speed only when wearing light armor. If you are wearing robes then this passive skill does not apply. Thankfully the 10% m attack is a completely different passive called "Abyssal Power". Unfortunately both of these are lost if you choose to take "Superior Weapon Mastery" which provides essentially no extra m attack and a 23% bonus to casting speed.
So any Kamael who still have those passives is gimping themselves on an 23% extra casting speed simply to pickup 10% more mattack if they are wearing all robes, unless they are running around in light armor. This actually would almost be viable if there was either a light armor that provided extra casting speed or a robe set that would provide its extra casting speed just from wearing the hat, gloves and boots. But you'd still need a wicked amount of Wit to make up for the lost 23% extra casting speed.
Soulhound is a bit overrated right now, even in PvP the PvP damage bonus does not keep pace with Elemental Burst or Dark Curse. The M.Crit bonus is laughable.
It's a decent mage for fighting melee characters especially - largely the para for melee, cause many classes have a way to run that P.Def buff out (Celestials, Hides, Stuns/Disables, ++++M.Evasion Buffs, etc.).
Not everyone runs around trying to stack every debuff they have off the bat. 30% debuff is nice enough. Wait until a moment of opportunity when you can throw out some big nukes to cast Dark Curse i.e. When Hell Binding lands. PvP isn't always about just standing there slinging nukes like someone just landed Dryad Root on you.
EDIT: Just tested in game. Both M.Def debuffs stack: Gloom and Devil's Curse. So the fact that other Nukers have Devil's Curse doesn't decrease the value of Dark Curse. It will still reduce your M.Def along with Devil's Curse.
yea it seems different from the other tests. here you can stack both gloom and devil curse for almost 60% mdef reduction which is a lot. its not additive but multiplicative. but as expected if ppl have debuff resist, nothing you can do, you also have to cast 2 debuffs before doing damage.
anyway you say that soulhound is overrated... tbh i've seen parties of enemies bsoe... and you can finally tank all physical damage. other feohs i've seen are 2-3 shots. its also not for melee only, snare.. proceed...
That only works against clueless people. People have been avoiding shadow snare (almost instantly blinking/jumping/rushing out of it) since less than a month after GoD launched when the first Feoh Wizards acquired the skill.
Does not change the fact that the P.Def Buff is on a cooldown and largely situational while all other mages got factorable all around, always present DPS boosts which quite frankly are worth much more than those buffs.
In any case the biggest reason a lot of people went Soul Hound was for the P.Def Buff (which is useful, just very situational) and PvP damage (which is kinda funny). I think I heard one mention the M.Crit, and I just figured I should not respond to that...
I'm choose without fear MM but why???
I read here on this topic that reuse time is equal, but its not true.I read that empowering echo is better to keep but its not true. I read in this topic that is better to keep arcane power but its not true too...
Why everyone talk MM is the worst class??? Cause everyone keep this 2 old for nothing skills...(arcane power+empowering echo)
Everyone will says that i'm crazy but...Its not true. Lets see:
Wizard Spirit+10(TIME)For 40 seconds, M. Atk. + 30%, M. Critical Rate + 60%, P. Def. and M. Def. + 20%, Evasion + 2, and MP Consumption for magic skills - 60%. When attacked, has a chance of inflicting magic damage on the attacking target. Enchant Time: Increases Duration.
Soo i will trade cause arcane power give only 35% all time, but reuse time for this skill is exactly 300s. Full buff i hav 25%(reuse time) from buffs, 5% from jewel, and 35% from passives. But theres another thing:
Double Casting+10(time but can go for Power, increasing 10% m.atack)=For 40 seconds, you can cast elemental spells with both hands. Decreases MP Consumption by 80% and magic skill Cooldown by 20%. Eliminates magic cancel during magic use. Enchant Time: Increases Duration.
Now i hav more casting than a STS or a ST cause i can do 2 spells per time, and 20% more reuse time, with a cooldown without all this reuse =180s,...
Soo if i use dual casting, and after that i use wizard spirit, 120% reuse time...
But its not only that. On next update:
Improvement Elemental Burst (Mystic Muse)Inflicts damage with 622 power on single target by strongly detonating Elemental Destruction. 100% chance to trigger... New Skill Aqua Crash=Damage to the target with 199 power, causing the abnormal state, decreases movement speed. The cumulative abnormalities, the final step is freezing for 2 seconds. When you double-cast, the steps are not cumulative, the final step is freezing for 3 seconds. Over-hit is possible.
Opsssss. Now i will hav a 100%trigger vortex???NICE.But with all this casting and reuse time, I can do a realy aqua crash...Soo i think a mystic Muse are a good class and will be better.
Maybe now all StS and All ST will cry and trade arcane power+empowering echo. Cause with this 2 skills they will never come to:
"DARK SIDE OF FORCE."
Ps. (my vortex will hav more power that StS vortex kkk)
Ps2. If i were a StS or a ST i would keep Arcane+empowering because I would not have the necessary wit to beat strong without put int dyes ;D
Personaly i prefer MM crit. rate than crit. damage.
Well actualy i read many threads and think about for many time, in the end i become to this conclusion: "Lineage 2 don't hav a worst or better class, all depends on how you play". Developers think about it for much time and i ever knowed that Mystic Muse strong point always are: Reuse time of skills. Why? Its very simple: casting speed don't means nothing if you don't hav spells to do. For example:
Everyone said Soultaker are best, but forgetting of he doesn't gained a elemental explosion. So what matters if he can debuff or if he has high casting? In the end, he will be stacked with spike, storm, crash, destruction and blast. In other hand the StS hav the most strong vortex and the most strong M.atack, but we know that: if we take away arcane+empower, he will lost his glorious M.atack, so his reuse disrupts the casting because you will use all magics and will be in cooldown for little secs ( of course in both cases we hav unleash hell and mass hell, but reuse of this 2 skills sucks too).
So i start to learn about how to make the casting of Mystic favorable to his reuse ( i realized that it has the only feoh that gained reuse and on init i think it has a **** ). In the end i choose to trade my arcane power because light elf mystic muse has better Mcriticalrate, and with more casting and reuse, i prefer hav 10K M.atack each 2 min and land in 5 hits 3 or 4 criticals than hav 13K Matack all time and in 5 hits land 1 or 2 criticals.
Answering your question, this is not theory. Because Matack of Light elf can be very near of a StS if he use wizard+double.
Well actualy i read many threads and think about for many time, in the end i become to this conclusion: "Lineage 2 don't hav a worst or better class, all depends on how you play" . . .
All you had to say was that it was all just theory.
All you had to say was that it was all just theory.
have u tested all this or is it just theory?
Actually, this is not just theory. I have a feoh evolved as Mystic Muse and I have to say: if my feoh equip with the same equipment of another character from a friend who is feoh StS, the difference in damage only appears if it using empower + arcane.
Already with another friend who swapped the 2 skills, the damage only differs by 10% ~ 15% by the fact that the dark elf has more intelligence, but that's where the 10% of "reuse time" that makes the difference when using the double + wizard. What will change the damage of Sts will be the next update, where he may have double + empower. So the mystic muse still takes advantage of this update and take the next one, which will have two new skills on which I discussed earlier.

If anyone wants to ask me something about it OK. But want to know if it is theory or practice, demonstrates the lack of knowledge of the questioner himself, who is too lazy to test but want to know if it works.

1. Any Feoh can use those Skill Enchants. The difference between the MM and the others is still *only* 10%, assuming equivalent gear and buffs. It is still generally a weaker class, especially if you're comparing a LE MM to a DE StSc.
2. Elemental Destruction isn't even close to 100% Proc Rate. The StSc Burst is currently stronger.
Where did you get the information that Destruction proc rate would be 100%? Where are you getting higher Skill Power for MM from? Serious questions.
3. Unsure how the new Elemental skill in Epeisodion stacks up against other Feoh Skills. Like Empowering Echo, or the 20% M.Def Debuff on Arch Mage Burst, or Transfer Pain and a longer Curse Gloom on Soultaker. We don't have any comparative information, currently.
4. No StSc will keep Empowering Echo because the buff does not stack with other needed buffs - the new level in Epes. will not have that issue. Welcome to a year ago, buddy. That party is over. Arcane Power for End Game PvP you probably want the M.Crit boost on Wizard Spirit. It has decently low cooldown, and crit is kin in this game (Skill, M.Crits, even DoT crits :P).
Arcane Power is good for leveling up, though, since it's virtually free and permanent in PvE especially solo areas which all drop herbs making the MP consumption a non-factor.
Unless you can provide a source for some of this information you're spewing out in this thread, no one will take you seriously because it's not what has been said about future updates - one of which has already launched in Korea, IIRC. Unless I missed those details.
Yes, in theory...
P.S. StSc damage will scale better than MM damage with the Ability system due to their higher BASE INT/M.Atk. They have a built-in advantage there, unless the MM awakened on a DEF toon in Lindvior.

The reason why people like ST is because the Debuff is a reliable means of damage increase, while the Burst skill isn't. It can simply not proc. It can get resisted. If the debuff gets purged/blocked you can simply recast it. The reuse is laughably low compared even to Devil's Curse.
Truth and the matter is, A Soultaker's Elemental Destruction with Dark Curse on the target is almost as a Mystic Muse's Burst skill. Stacking it with Devil's Curse, I think it would be reliable to say it's about as good.
A StSc can stack the same temp buffs. So saying the MM M.Atk is as good if he stacks those temps while ignoring the StSc's ability to do exactly that is kind of dumb. MM (On Elf Toon) is one of the lowest M.Atk Feohs (I say almost cause I have never played a Kamael and don't know what their base INT is). It's lower than Arch Mage and Soultaker as well - who will also be able to stack those same buffs for more M.Atk than a MM given the same gear/buff setup...
The reuse is nice, and if you are happy with it no one is knocking you. These threads are just people giving their opinions, nothing more. Sometimes the numbers support them, sometimes they don't.
Arcane Power should be kept for leveling and discarded for PvP, for obvious reasons.
Also a buffed StSc with Arcane Power and Apoc/TW gear and very little +INT from tats has like 22k+ M.Atk not 10 or 13k - with level 1 Iss Buffs.
Most of us know about that website, generally speaking. All the information gets translated by players and discussed in length at : boards.rochand.com
1. I see the 100% chance to trigger there is nothing about a power increase on the MM's Elemental Buster.
That's the only thing that seems to have any type of credibility from what you said, from the other new skill they added.
Feoh Arch Mage:
Buster: AoE, Power Increased to 683. Applies a 20% M.Def Debuff (AoE) for 30 seconds when used.
Feoh Soultaker:
Gloom: Non-Attributed Damage @ 115 Power added. Duration Increased to 15 Seconds. -50% M.Def, -50 All Attributes.
Transfer Pain: 60% Transfer
Cursed Man and Reanimated Man added back for them.
Feoh Mystic Muse:
Elemental Buster: 100% Proc Rate. 622 Power (Less than Feoh AM, for example - no debuff applied).
Aqua Crash: 199 Power. Reduce Movement Speed. At max level, 2 second freeze. In double case it's immediate 3 second freeze.
^- Currently Elemental Crash with Water Slows and Stuns in Double Cast. Would have to see what this performs like in real time, but it's not really a make or break skill.
Lightning Shock: 188 Power PBAE, 3 Second Para and -50% to incoming heals.
Physical Soul Barrier: +6,000 P.Def for 20 Seconds
Values are based on the final level of the skill.
On the Flip side... All Archer classes got M.Def based boosts. Either increase M.Def or M.Crit Reduction. Summoners get a fairly substantial boost if the Wrath nuke procs at even half the rate of Elemental Destruction... I don't really see how that will change much. Being able to perform optimally at a feoh in end-game PvP is all about gear. +6 R99 Sets and Red Weapons are starting to be considered standard **** these
Also not sure if it launched in Korea live with the red edits as those were added during the PTS and they were doing changes every 3-4 days during the Korean PTE for Epeisodeon. It also seems missing some information.
Doesn't matter what class you choose if you're not very close to 99. Choose Arch Mage and level faster, then choose whatever you want later.
If you buy Chaos Essence from L2 store, it comes in a package and the time doesn't start running until you open it. Buy two (or one if you still have one of the others) and save it to change to whatever you want when you are decently high level and ready.
Until then, enjoy the extra AoE potential and level faster.
In Epe it seems AM is being balanced as a PvE class, though the AoE debuff is nice (but will be cleansed :-P ).
The amount of Soultakers running around is really sort of killing mage synergy in groups with multiple mages. I did a Kartia late last night with 4 mages. 3 were Soultakers and one was Storm Screamer. At least I didn't have to bother with keeping Dark Curse up, Lol.
Changed my class though. The debuff is nice but the duration really hamstrings you. They realy should have made it a 20 second debuff, or made it not stack with Devil's curse (a nerf in function, but a boost in Quality of Life).

They should also give Soulhounds our class defining cannon AOE back. I mean this is even refered to in the Kamael lore (now removed from the game) as the defining spell and most powerful attack of a Soulhound.
They should also change the debuff that reduces the elemental attribute on the target to allow multiple element debuffs to exist on the target and to extend the timer to 20 seconds.

I think 10 seconds is fine for the Elemental Spike Debuff.
It's spammable so the duration is fine.
As far as the stacking you're suggesting, that would not be balanced as it would allow one mage to debuff multiple attributes -100 due to the spammability of that nuke.

I thought the class defining function was the melee/mystic cross breed like it was for the tank/mystic shilien templar?
I guess we all pay attention to the big flashy things instead.

I am just going by what the lore defines as important and what visually distinguishes a Soulhound from the other classes.
The cannon was really one of the coolest looking spells in the game as it was meant to be given that it had the highest spellpower of all the magic AOEs.
The magic/melee hybrid worked up until around level 75 and then it completely fell apart because Soulhound lacked the defense and p attack to really be a full blown meleers and lacked the reuse reduction and magic attack needed to be a full blown mage. And since at the time nearly all the mobs were only capable of being killed by either magic only or melee only the Soulhound was in a pretty poor place so the hybrid class was really a failure after level 75 because of the poor design decisions made by NCSoft in regards to stratifying the grinding areas.
And I don't think anyone would classify the shilien templar as a mystic tank hybrid. It was a tank with a ****** drain spell that all dark elf melee classes got (elven classes got the crappy heal) and a paralyze with a really low landrate (eva's templar got a seperate but equal skill).

I have invoke. It "had" the highest magic AOE power when enchanted and it certainly looks grand and amazing. Its even said to be the fist of Nabiarov himself. I still wouldn't say that its class defining and that makes me a nuker instead of a summoner.
you guys are terrible. best nuker > Necro. even after Episodian. SpellHowlers will be on the 2nd place in Episodian if you are one of those smart people who kept arcane power will have a huge m attack with empowering echo. Saw fraps 450k m attack SH with +16 dark caster. For non factors it doesn't matter what you play. All of the nukers will be the same with crap gear and crap jewels. Well, necromancers has slight advantage since you can reduce more m.def of ur enemy with gloom but won't be able to one shot them anyway without crit rings which are vital in this update. Since access to b.Aq and b.baium is monopoly and the only rings most ppl can get are probably b.istina+b.octavis which I doubt most of you have it's not going to matter much. You need like at least +6 blessed set or preferable +8 robe sets and b.antharas and full subs with good support in group to be a "decent" nuker without getting one shots from every archer. Unless you can crit for 20k+ with devil's curse you shouldn't even consider playing Mage.
Nuker list for open oly:
1) SLB
2) SpS
3) Necro
4) Sorc
5) SH
CB:
1) Necro
2) Sps
3,4) Sorc/Slb
5) SH
for open pvp it's Necro is the top the rest is w/e till Episodian. Like most non factors don't even know how the wizard class works and what(how) the benefit from each stat. M attack scaling is really bad. It's scales under square root in oppose to linear scaling of p. attack on archers. And after 30k m attack all the extra m attack will go into your crit power. You will see almost no difference on regular hits. But the difference with 50k and 200k m attack on crit is big. It depends if you use blunt or sword but.
Thanks for opening our eyes to the fact what gear play huge role in feoh's power and M.atk uses square root for damage formula.
Please continue with insults to a mage community, so we would learn from such a famous and renown user with 3 posts.
Finally someone who is not terrible can lead us into better tomorrow.
Nightbane, you should link this guy your +10 Blessed Eternal Stockings :p
You really don't get it why i made that sarcastic post? Then you even dumber then your friend.

But the Soulhound's canon was class defining.
According to the lore, the canon that Soulhounds used was the thing which distinguished them from the other Kamael classes. The Kamael were created in order to destroy the gods, and in order to help the Kamaels accomplish this the Giants gave the Soulhounds a canon and the Doombringers an attack that could cut everything between heaven and Earth. A Doombringer used that sword attack to kill one of Einhasad's daughters and the Soulhounds used the canon to scatter and devastate the god's forces (the angels). Tricksters who were all female were never supposed to exist as originally all female Kamael were not soldiers which is why they don't really have a flashy high damage attack and instead use trap which is a really awkward mechanic.
Said class defining skill is gone. I still have summons though...
for open pvp it's Necro is the top the rest is w/e till Episodian.
@ricetastesgood: Most of us know who Nightbane is, ty. The person made the sarcastic reply for obvious reasons, which you clearly missed.
On a more serious note, Nightbane is right, though. Feoh isn't even worth playing if you don't think you can get competitive gear, because the surviveability [currently] is not balanced with the DD performance. If you have incredible gear, with high crit rate and Crit Jewels, that changes.
But it is probably the worst performing class at "Average Gear" levels.
The fact that some have taken to wearing Heavy sets speaks for itself.
If you aren't super poor, level up at Arch Mage with a Class Change Package in the WH and change to Necro at 97+. If you're poor, go Necro.
If you cannot gear up decently to do decent damage, then consider another class. You don't have to be a pro killer to be useful in PvP, BTW.

so true seems like one of the first persons that shares my opinion on that
but anyway even with bad gear i enjoy feoh although i play more my dagger or my tyrr atm anyway xD
I never actually bothered posting here. There are only a few people who read offboards anyway. I keep forgetting my password to offboards too. xD. Was just logged when I tried to post on that day and responded to it.

it's not bad in average gear too if u r fighting average geared archer.
Anyway untill 98+lvl bracket nuker is strongest class in pvp ( if all classes are same geared)
you guys are terrible. best nuker > Necro. even after Episodian. Unless you can crit for 20k+ with devil's curse you shouldn't even consider playing Mage.

tl;dr nukers sucks unless u have at least +6 set (better +8) b. antahras and valakas, improved rings, decent weapon....
nothing new here man. m.att scales bad, but wit scales even worse. how much m.crit rate increases 1 wit? men scales bad too. so u wanna put con on your mage? I did not rly get your 30k m.att "reveal" u shared with us.
whats your point? u need to have an extremelly good gear to be good with a mage? we know that already.
