When i saw the patch notes about vitality i thought 2 things, one was well that is cool and the other was "wait, ncsoft doesn't usually do cool things like that!".
To my funny surprise i came to the conclusion that i was right, basically what they did was turning vitality in a shop function where, if you want to use it you need to buy vita pots.
If, while doing K90, we loose all the vita in the first waves, why do we actually have the vitality function? Why trying to fool the users? Wouldn't it be better to just put another XP item in shop and remove the vitality system for real?
Another disappointment by ncsoft...
I tried a 85 Group Kartia, and my full Vitality bar ran out by the time we left the first chamber. Hence, I had no Vitality for over half the instance, and missed out on any bonus XP from the final boss.
Well... it is NC's goal to make up micro-transaction more, buy more XP items and spend more money. Good job NC.... mission accomplished.
Vitality is now unique to each character and the class they are on. Every character on a game account, and every main class, Dual Class, or Subclass of that character will have its own dedicated Vitality points pool, weekly Vitality item count, and Vitality item re-use times.
we tried VERY well
there isnt in patch notes anything about cutting the vitality more than half in every sub/main..
if such serious change is to taken place we DESERVED to know BEFORE the update dont you think?
Vitality thing is a joke right ? A bug or something ? You cannot be serious...
Before : K90 was using 40% of vita
Now : 100% is used in the first 2 rooms.
And dont remember they raised the price of vita items like 3 weeks ago.
I think i'm done now. GJ NC. Enough of this pay2win game.
Try the Vitality changes and see how things go first. :)
In this case this vitality change sux hard. I've used vitality on sub only 1x when I was making noblesse. After this i always used vitality for 2 k90 and 2 fortunas/ few spezions on my main. Now i can do max 1/4 of 1 kartia.
I guess my parent's wallet will experience a huge pain... Well played NC, well played.
Just did a little experiment on sub. Yesterday at 62 I used a vit pot on toi 2, I leveled for an hour. I know this for certain, because I clicked the pot at 10:02 and at 11:00 I was already logged out and watching my show on TV.
I still had vitality remaining after that hour. (not a lot, but I did have some) and I logged in later on and burned the rest of it off. (I don't like leaving vit on my toon right before it resets, feels like a waste.)
Today I did the same thing, I used the same gear, same buffs, everything the same. I didn't kill any faster than I did yesterday, if anything it was a tad slower without my subskills (hadnt gone to reset them yet)
in 43 minutes my vit dropped to 3/4. The vitality pot only recovers 1/8th.
NCSoft is cracking down on making a profit. Nothing personal, just business. Before it was "Pay to Play", they relied on regular subscriptions to help pay for their bills. Now that it's "Free to Play", now it's relying on the addictions of the player to help pay for bills. Personally, I haven't spent a dime on any items in the store since April and I'm fine with it. I doubt NCSoft Korea would change the vitality system back and it's best to get used to it. Nothing personal, it's just business.
Here is another funny statement from the patch notes.
Keep in mind that, as of Goddess of Destruction launch, having Vitality points does create a drop rate bonus, but not having Vitality points creates a drop rate penalty. To achieve the most, have at least a few Vitality points on your character or class at all times. So, not only do you have to buy vitality potions from the NCstore constantly if you want the vitality xp bonuses you also get a drop rate penalty when you have no vitality. Very nice of you NCsoft. Not even a reach round?
Apparently it's always been like that, that's just a reminder and another prod in the butt to buy coins. Chances are if you haven't noticed it you wont. I forgot about vit over 85 lol. Boy am I glad i p lvled up my wynn b4 the update though! Would have been nice to have the vit consumption increase in the preliminary notes Sace. Might be less angry people!
Agree, Epic FAIL with the VP changes, nice to have separate on subs, but now it goes even faster,... WTF is going on here??? It sounded like they had the right idea leading up to the update.
Do they hate the customers?
I always found treating the customer good, and extra, produces more customers, and more income,......
"Dirty and underhanded" is an opinion but that is economics among businesses and companies. Rockafeller, Carnigie, and Ford wrote the book on "cut throat" business and they were just as "dirty and underhanded" as any business man. Funny thing about being "dirty and underhanded", you get a building or monument named after you. Please do not feel slight or hurt by the way things are being done. We can not change the major things just by a vote, we can't even change things if we just stop playing. NCSoft thrives on the popularity of the L2 and the addictiveness of the "instant gratification" junkies out there. Believe me, there are plenty of them out there. My advice is to stay and play, or just do something else until you feel the need to come back. And you know you will.
Yeah, I woke up this morning and there were mechanics from the local Ford dealership hoisting the 4.6 out of my car and preparing to put in a 1.6 litre 4banger. When I asked them what they thought they were doing, they claimed that the 4.6 is now a separate option that I hadn't paid for, so I was being downgraded to the new standard model's 1.6.
I thought I was going to have enough money to upgrade back to the proper engine that I enjoyed since I bought the car, but then my insurance company called to let me know that my policy was no longer $1250 a year, but $1250 a month.
I hopped to the bank to see if I could take a loan out of my retirement funds, but since they changed the interest rate without telling me, I am actually 60 grand in the hole.
Well I guess I'm just stuck like that. SrStupedHead thinks it's completely normal, and that's good enough for me.
I'm completely convinced that being dirty and underhanded is the best business model.
Later today I'm going to the old folks home to fix their TV, I can't wait to smash it with a hammer and tell them I'll have to sell them a brand new one.
I tried to text my wife and tell her about all of this, but now my cell phone provider only sends consonants in text messages unless I buy their new vowel package and she couldn't understand what I was trying to say.
===
Yes, all of that sounds outrageously ridiculous, but the SrStupedHead/NCSoft Business Model is here to stay! Nothing to be done!
Not really, now I'm not going to buy runes for my subs. Runes are great when you have vit, but I'm not buying items to make the items that I bought work as effectively as they did yesterday.
If you take a peek at the Korean patch notes, the same update that introduced separate vitality for subs/duals class also decreased the amount of vitality consumed while hunting solo, or in a party of 2 to 6 players.
Our update is just broken, someone failed and now everyone would rather just say "no no, this is so you'll buy items!" than to expect some accountability from ncwest.
Try the Vitality changes and see how things go first. :)
i'm ok with that but i think that the amount of vit used while lvling needs to be decreased by quite a bit and i think most players will agree with that
Instead of making threads on forums about how we dislike the new system, do what people do in real life and boycot. You want the vit system back or a better one, stop buying anything from the store with vit. You are the customers people wake up, if you don't buy what they are selling they are going to have to make a change it's that simple...

Vitality
Vitality is now unique to each character and the class they are on. Every character on a game account, and every main class, Dual Class, or Subclass of that character will have its own dedicated Vitality points pool, weekly Vitality item count, and Vitality item re-use times.
Our release patch notes:
Vitality
The Vitality system has reverted to being character-based instead of account based, but even better; your character's main class, Dual Class, and Subclass each have a unique Vitality pool and weekly Vitality item limit!
The consumption speed of Vitality points when gaining XP is increased.
Korea's patch notes:
1 Vitality consumption point efficiency has been improved. Solo hunting and two to six party consumes reduced vitality points.
2 Independent vitality points by the characters within the account to have been improved.
3 The main character one / dual / independent vitality points in units of the subclass to have been improved.
Someone screwed up. Plain and simple.
But of course, let's all just make excuses for ncw. That will help.

So you think boycotting won't help yet posting on a forum will. Interesting! As a Manager of numerious companies, if something wasn't sold the company got rid of it, or changed it to make money.
Stop complaining and buy some nc coin. This isnt a private server, remember ? People used to pay to play on these servers monthly, most having to activate 2-3 accounts at $15 a pop. You dont like it ? back to your private servers you go.

Yes, all of that sounds outrageously ridiculous, but the SrStupedHead/NCSoft Business Model is here to stay! Nothing to be done!
Exactly!! Business have to survive and how they survive is through strategy. Sometimes strategy is questionable but we, in general, accept it as the way it is. For example, you go to a famous electronics store to buy a computer. The salesman comes up to you and befriends you. Why does he do that? It's his job. It's his method. It's his business model to keep his job and get promoted to the big chair. He gets you to trust him with his knowledge of what his selling. At that point, you are convinced. You want to buy that particular computer. Now, the trustful salesperson suggests other things to go with the computer to "enhance" your experience with it. But now, the battle for your money begins. You come up with valid excuses as to why you don't want to get the extras. The salesman, who wants to keep his job and stay top dog, counters your excuses. You win on some "no"s and walk out with more than just a computer. Is that personal? No, it's just business. But, now you walk out slightly upset because you left with more than you asked for, and you shake your fist at the company. But why? That famous electronics store knows you will come back to shop again because they know they are the top sellers and dealers in the city, region, state, country and even the world. But you swear never to shop there again but you will if the company buys out the competition. It's how business works. You may not agree with it but it's the nature of business.

I am one of those people that paid for multiple accounts, for more than half a decade. It was cheaper to do that, than it is to play now that it is "truly free".

Your example is a great one, for a different situation.
This more like going and buying a new computer, then getting it home and using it with no problems for a month, and then some major component within the machine stops working, so you call about the warranty and find out that the system itself was designed to stop working after 30 days so that you had to buy a new one.
I wasn't convinced to buy extras (that is called upselling, by the way) I was sold something and then had part of it taken away.
Ok, i understand why they did it (increase profits) but do they really need to go this low? I mean i don't know many companies going this low at the point of pretty much scamming their users.
In my case they won't see a single dollar. Don't have a problem playing without spending money on this game so, their lost.

Why do you people want to gain exp so fast? To get to 99? Just remember once you get there you will be greeted by the botting script users with their +16 weapons.
LOL..... just level slowly and enjoy the ride with your freinds. Looks to me like NCSad is trying to help and delay your ultimate disappointment.
It works with any company selling a product... How do you think the f2p model came about?
I have to disagree. F2P came about because all the other game companies are doing it. NCSoft Korea wants to keep up with current trends. They tried it out on Guild Wars and found out it can make money. It's not because people refuse to pay the subscription. Before F2P, we had two servers bussling with players at different times. Bussling with players who gave up 15 dollars American to play on a laggy server with bots and terrible customer service. Now with F2P model, they can make more from players who want to contribute money to enhance their experience online. Why not? People have been doing it for years, even from adena farmers. So now they give you a choice. You can buy stuff from the store to get your toon to the top fast or, don't and get your toon up to the top eventually. You can say, "oh, I am not going to buy stuff." They will just say, "ok, that's your choice. But let see what the next player says." You know there is a person with big pockets paying minimum 500 dollars to get his nice glowy weapon for his 2 accounts. If you break it down, that's about 33 subscriptions he paid for. (500 dollars divided by 15) I might suggest that if you happen to find that guy, please thank him for me. He paid for my subscription for the month.

Did you buy the "Extended Service Plan"? They call it "Cheese", you know. as in: "Hey, boss. I just sold the "super dooper ally ooper 8000 with a 36 in monitor, gaming mouse and keyboard, a subscription to "SmashBox Live" and "Film Box", and the techs are going to the customers' house to set it up with wireless, printing and docking." "Did you get 'Cheese' on that?" "Yep, boy did that old man have good credit!".

Its a good theory except you forgetting vita does change the drop rates.

It's not scamming if you weren't personally there at the negotiating table. In fact, nothing was negotiated, NCSoft Korea are doing their job by releasing content on a product that they put their names on. If you look on the EULA, no where does it say that the players are the deciding vote on the company's track. In fact, it even says that you are not even supposed to mess with the program to run that you want. By clicking on "agree" on the page, you consented them to let you enter their virtual world. If it were a scam, they wouldn't even offer a "Decline" button. If you think about it, going F2P has ripped the power of voice from it's players. You nash your teeth at NCSoft West, NCSoft West can't do anything but try by reporting back to NCSoft Korea, and in turn NCSoft Korea will take it's time to make the smart move to appease the players. But when the changes are made, they are not satisfactory because they are outdated. So it all boils down to two choices: "Agree" "Decline".

When you open a service, then give you the idea that it will work in some way and then goes the exactly the opposite, it's really close to scam. (Note that i did write "pretty much scamming", meaning close to be a scam. Sorry if i mislead you)
If you know their history of doing this kind of things, do you feel like spending money on them? I don't.
Well I'm not going to be buying ncoin items to lvl a subclass, that's just not happening. I'll be spending a lot more time leveling those subclasses now, which means it'll be quite some time before I need any items for my main class.
That said, our patch is still broken. We got the opposite of what other territories did.

:D I haven't spent a dime on the game since April. I, too, am disgruntled at the state of things. I am still waiting to be gruntled. But, hey, at least we have GMs that are not corrupt and the game works 90 percent of the time. Besides, this reminds me of making wishes from a Genie. NCSoft, we wished you give back the old vit system but you gave us vit that burns fast but you did good on the separate vit bars. Oh, wait, you didn't say we had to be specific on our wishes. Ok, how about we wish for a separate vit bar for each toon and subclass, and the vit to burn slow. What? no more wishes? blast. :p life is funny

You can disagree with me all you want but it's about bottom line on a companies income. If you effect the income by boycotting, change will be made. Ofcourse I am sure you will say you need a lot of people to do that. Let me remind you this topic is already on it's 3rd page. F2p is not about lag, or bots it was about making money and allowing more users to have the chance to do so, it reminds me of when a store( not company of store, that particular store's location) closes and have signs 10 percent off everything. Is that really a sale or a marketing ploy?
Actually, by nerfing vitality you make it more useless, and make it less worthy spending money on it, before it was a way of keeping the people out of the pc, now... It's just an excuse to try to take money of addicted people which is something... Pathetic.
But the thing is, people don't like being milked for their money, they prefer a more gentle approach. Of course, at first your profits will go up, but in due time they will go on a freefall because of these mislead choices.
And as for the mrwhateverhead, learn about business strategy first (or better, learn about strategy itself first), and then give your opinion, it will make you sound less stupid.
LMAO, not so long ago there was no such thing as Vitality and it took so much longer to grind. Even without vitality you level very fast these days... slow down and save your money... enjoy the ride before the ride is over.

:P That is usually a sign of a small store getting muscled out by big stores.

hee hee, thanks. I know I am stupid or at least sound like one :P but it's still common knowledge of "survival of the fittest". Plus, players age and grow out of games. So the game companies like NCSoft, go after the next generation with a disposable income. Makes me feel like a "coppertop", if you ask me.
:P That is usually a sign of a small store getting muscled out by big stores.
Bestbuy got muscled out? Or did technology take over, either way by not buying vit pots or whatever restores vit or gives a bonus. It will make NC rethink vit, it's Newton's law, for one reaction is another action or opposite action. And if you know Economics, you'd know that customers are really incharge of what is sold. A company can not sell something if no one is buying.
There really isn't a way to put a good spin on how the vitality nerf was rolled out. It came across as doubly underhanded because it was an unpleasant surprise discovered by players after the fact, not something that was even hinted at prior to its implementation.
I'm all for good business strategy and maximizing profits; I run a store. One truth that's easy to forget, though, is that consumers actually spend more when they feel valued and rewarded.
It's true that some business models don't depend as much on good customer relations, and that you can spoil your customer by giving them so much for so little so often that they learn to expect it. However, I think NC would benefit from at least attempting to walk the middle road.
- If you want to entice your customer to spend more, try doing so by increasing the incentive to spend rather than devaluing in some way the product that they've come to expect for their investment. If you want people to spend more on toothpaste, you don't put less paste in the same size tube. You either very gradually increase the price and/or provide additional product or "freebies" to make the customer feel as if they received sufficient value for their expense.
- Disclosing an unpleasant change ahead of time goes a long way towards improving customer relations. People will still complain, but they'll usually feel a little less antagonistic if they feel that the disclosure was there (i.e. "What, did you really think I wasn't going to notice that you did that?")
You can't necessarily blame a business for wanting to make more money, but there are best practices that help retain customers. I won't storm off declaring that I won't ever buy NCoin again, but I'll likely trim down my discretionary spending simply because 1) only a handful of vitality-related consumables have any use now and 2) I don't feel like maintaining my current level of spending when I get noticeably less entertainment than before. Not that vitality directly = entertainment, but I find character progression to be fun, and I have relatively limited time each week in which to progress, thus the investment in items that maximize the benefit for the time spent.
Stop complaining and buy some nc coin. This isnt a private server, remember ? People used to pay to play on these servers monthly, most having to activate 2-3 accounts at $15 a pop. You dont like it ? back to your private servers you go.
I've been on retail since Jan 09, had 3 active subscription accounts, and since F2P I have likely spent more on this game than the vast majority of players. I can say without any doubt that this game is now far more expensive to play with 1 toon than it was 3 subscription accounts, especially if you play competitively. I have no problem with NCSoft making money, but there is also a balance that needs to be maintained between profit and customer satisfaction. They are doing the same thing that many private servers did: suck every last penny out of people regardless of the long term consequences.
So it all boils down to two choices: "Agree" "Decline".
since they say they arent allowed to change anything on the servers due to nckorea
so why when they decide to change such a serious thing they dont added up in the patch notes?
1)they always were like that
2)they never learned
3)they know that the majority will not complain because they bot
4)they dont care about people that dont pay them
a company that gives you the middle finger and change things in the game for the sole purpose of getting more money isnt worth anything
that company its like the greek gov they know there is a leak but instead of fixing it they just added up and voila leak still there but you get more income from the wrong target
That is true, if the company is only selling one product. But, NCSoft has other games to pull in revenue and I'm sure they haven't shutdown the dept where games come from. But, the boycotting idea is a good one.... if you can convince EVERYONE to stop buying the coins just to prove a point. But, I highly doubt it. sorry. it's the truth. I am willing to bet in a month, they will sell a vit replenishing potion (think Birthday buff, but smaller) very cheap, and don't make it count as one vit item on the bar. I remember it when it was 5 per week. Now it's 20. Maybe more, I haven't checked. They sell it through the online store, it's really cheap, it delivers instantly. I am willing to bet a player who is leveling his toon in a good group, will not miss a chance on a vit pot that refills as fast as it depletes. I will also add the fact that at least one player has the what I call "The screen is 1 inch longer" syndrome. There is always a person who is willing to pay obscene amounts of money just to have the latest things or have a good advantage over everyone else. A company who is in it for the profit will not turn that person away. That is not just economics, that is psychology as well.

I speculate that the Greek Economy is in trouble because it hosted the Olympics, not because they have idiots in charge. NCSoft is not really giving the customers the middle finger, they are only providing a product that will appease the majority of the customer base until it's time to "add another inch to the screen". No system is perfect, everyone wants a fair share. But I'm sorry, just like Vegas, the house always wins.
Now, let me say that toons on the same accounts sharing vit is pretty uncool and it's cool that NCSoft changed it to reflect subclasses and other toons. But, before the change, a person can level up 6 toons on an account and buy a bunch of birthday day vit pots (or use a stock pile on a toon that never gets played) and go to an instance like the nursery with each toon when the vit gets to zero. Out of vit? no problem, I will run my alt through the nursery to get it back up. Rinse, repeat. I am willing to bet some guy working for NCSoft has noticed this and suggested to NCSoft Korea to change the game in thier favor. Ran out a vit during an awesome group? Don't worry, just buy one of our replenishing pots that regains your vit as you hunt. Vit goes up, the pot wears off, vit goes down, spend more coins to make it go up again. Admit it, someone is going to buy coins no matter what. I wouldn't be surprised if they started an event that pops out cool stuff like Destruction scrolls at a high drop rate but the catch is you have to buy something in store or the event won't work on you. It's all just a business. nothing personal.
Boycotts do not work, there are never enough people willing enough to do without.

Our preliminary patch notes:
Vitality
Vitality is now unique to each character and the class they are on. Every character on a game account, and every main class, Dual Class, or Subclass of that character will have its own dedicated Vitality points pool, weekly Vitality item count, and Vitality item re-use times
+1, clean and simple.
Any GM will say anything about this? Id like to know if i have to look for another "c2p" game or not. (btw c2p = cheap 2 play, cause now l2 is ve2p.. very expensive 2 play)
"The consumption speed of Vitality points when gaining XP is increased."
The nail on the coffin on this complaint. but hey, at least the vit regens fast when you get an herb or use a vit pot that acts like the herb. ...... or does it? O.O I say it takes three licks on a tootsie pop to get to the center.
Unfortunately, I'm quite sure there was no screw up on the dev side. They've intentionally made the Vit useless unless you're buying loads of Vit pots and they're forcing players into buying XP runes to get any decent xp per h return. 50$/month just to keep up, an insulting feature of a 8y old game.
Try the Vitality changes and see how things go first. :)
I did...less 3 minutes, 1 train in Guillotine my VP was completely drained. Doing the daily
Meaning that if you want to have any lasting effect on your XP bar you need to buy a ton of holders/refills for 1hour+, and grind with them on constantly. Cause the second it drops your VP is gone!
Smooth move NCsoft West, nice way to force ppl to buy more from your Nstore.
hmm i didn't pay attention how much bonus ex the vit gives now, but last night, at fortuna (which btw now is so easy you don't even need full pt), where usualy i get ~1% exp, it gave 2%+. And yes the vit drops faster, so what. The point is i can finally lvl my dual with perma full vit, not biting my nails every time i kill some mob on the main from DQ or Instances.

You don't need everyone, you just need the majority or to hit the companies people count, or wallet depending on the company. For NC profits and people count! Obviously items are tracked, so once the numbers go down a change will happen. I think you're looking at boycotting them in every way, I am just recommending anything to do with vit.
Here is an example since you don't understand: Pepsi doesn't just sell pepsi, but if people stopped buying Mt Dew(which won't happen) but if Mt Dew had a decrease in revenue the company would wonder why. If you can't grasp this maybe an economics course at any college will be your best bet.
Pepsi would then do freebies, 2 for 1 which I assume NC might do, bring out some cheap rune, or something which is still better than what it is right now. Something would change. A win isn't always getting what you want exactly, although when the company makes a change it's because they are changing to suit the comsumer and to keep monies comming in. Mcondalds was seen doing this recently bringing the Mcrib back. If NC does nothing, then they are thinking about dropping this title, and I don't see this happening, but you never know.
I must admit that i'm very satisfied with Glory Days patch, everythign looks good at least for me, but the VP system.. i dont' know if this is some kind of sick joke or what.. but VP doesn't even last an entire Kartia instance, u can barely reach stage 6 with a milimeter of green bar of VP...Come one NCSoft, this isn't funny anymore, who was the guy with the crazy idea of VP mad consumption.., i'm glad u heard all our prayers about changing VP system in the way u did in Glory Days witch seems ok having individual VP for every character and subclass, but once again, the VP consumption with main ch 90+ at least idk about the rest, but is just ridiculous...
hmm i didn't pay attention how much bonus ex the vit gives now, but last night, at fortuna (which btw now is so easy you don't even need full pt), where usualy i get ~1% exp, it gave 2%+. Not 100% sure but nothing in fortuna gives vitality bonus, or does it?
I mean the raids for being raids aren't affected by vitality and the rest of the mobs don't give any exp at all, but somehow I manage to use half a bar (one of the 4 cells) and gain as much exp, if not less (maybe I got less because I did it with a higher level group than usual).
Since I read the patch notes before getting into the game I catched that increase consumption before I got in game and I thought "ok its fair since they are actually giving us more vit" but seeing how my vit ran out faster that I could notice on a kartia 85 which usually just uses a bar and maybe a bit more I was alarmed, this didn't change anything, but made leveling sub/dual actually even harder (thank god those raids are there though).
As I wrote this it came to me that they actually didn't increase the consumption speed but actually gave each main, dual and the 2 subs a forth of the vit bar we had before, so essentially we still have the same vit just spread out, only extra vit we got is that of the alts on that same account.
I like the vit for each char on the account, including subs. Not so fond of the fact that you can't make it to the boss on a Kartia with any vit unless you pop a pot at the very end. On my lower lvl toons it's not as big a deal, so I don't care about them. It is what it is I suppose....just gonna be a draw to the NC store for those with deep pockets and no patience for xp. Personally all I can do to feel better about the whole thing is to think back to when there was no vitality...We got it made nowadays, so I'm not worried. It sucks compared to what we've been spoiled with, but I'm not gonna get too bent out of shape about it.
"Here is an example since you don't understand: Pepsi doesn't just sell pepsi, but if people stopped buying Mt Dew(which won't happen) but if Mt Dew had a decrease in revenue the company would wonder why."
Mt Dew is pretty awesome. And of course they would wonder why. The same will happen when there is a sudden drop in NCCoin sales. The bookkeepers will notify marketing. Marketing will introduce a package deal that any person with a lot of money to waste can't resist or marketing will contact the multitudes of websites that feature games to work out a deal to introduce a limited item in game for ad space. The website will agree because NCSoft will say, "hey, check out this website to collect your limited in game item". The website gets new visitors, and old visitors get to check out this "new" free to play game called "Lineage 2".
btw, it was not I who said to boycott. I am just saying that it's the nature of things to have changes in the game that not everyone will agree on. Boycotting is fruitless because no one can control what they can not see, talk to or touch. Who is going to be the leader? Who is going to lead the charge? What happens if someone still buys NCCoin while the boycott is in place? Right now, everyone doesn't have the opinion that NCSoft is so corrupt that everyone will not buy any NCSoft game or virtual items. It will take something like wiping the servers to get everyone angry. Until then, pitch forks and torches come, and they go, the castle never burns.

According to NCsoft's own earnings statements they are losing $2+ million dollars per month in West. That's winning?
The vit thing is fail but its not a realy big problem for some of us that used to play w/o vit eny way, the thing i find very interesting is the drop rate penalty w/o vit points i guess ncwest rly need all us to start buying vit pots :D
Its a good theory except you forgetting vita does change the drop rates.
Drop rates have always been pathetic. Those that profit from the drop rates are botters. The game imo is designed that way. Kinda like cheaters helping cheaters.
You have to remember that these guys are the ones that in response to the botting problem came up with the "bot button". hyped it as the game saver and then did nothing with it while constantly misleading and lying to their paying customers.
well with less vita to use actively for lvling means soon rampant botting if not kept in check..
the vita system encouraged active play with ppl being very conscious about how to use their vita xp wise, with the now almost non existent vita means less care on how they get their xp as long as it's a lot/fast..
also we used to have the vita this bad before but in those days we also had nevitt blessings ingame that you could buy with adena to compensate..
grtz on the potential future wins on ncstore sales, now make sure u use the money on getting rid of the afk bots..
Any GM will say anything about this? Id like to know if i have to look for another "c2p" game or not. (btw c2p = cheap 2 play, cause now l2 is ve2p.. very expensive 2 play)
best regards.
It shouldn't be +1 because this is not a mistake. NCsoft intentionally increased the consumption rate of vitality. They are losing money hand or fist in the West and are just trying to milk their customers to offset the losses a little. This is a sign of how serious things are getting at NCsoft in my opinion.
It doesn't matter if they did the opposite in Korea. That market is their only profitable one.
Well I'm sorry to be blunt, but if you are losing money even after dropping Russia and the entire EU from the "West" market, with 5 active servers and the F2P model, I gotta say you are doing something very wrong.
I guess they changed it because the overall amount of VP through Class-Dual-Sub will be huge, like someone said before they split it instead of giving "full" to each.
To be honest, if you don't have any subclass/dual class then I don't see why would they cut the points. Make it like if you have a subclass, then it's 1/2 for each, 2 subs then 1/3 and so on.
I played another game for a while when I couldn't afford to pay for this game anymore. In that game, a player could buy Gold, which was a currency used to buy stuff from the company itself (fashion, mounts, and other things). The in-game currency was Coin. You could buy the Gold to buy stuff from the company through the in-game shop, or you could sell it to other players who could then do the same. Many (most), if not all, of the items from that shop were tradeable. You could buy "Packs" which had a chance of practically anything in them, but I think most often had "Tokens" which could be used for many things, including Hyper XP Stones. These Hypers would allow you the potential of 12x xp if used properly. Hypers could be (de)activated at will, I think up to 10x a day.
The idea of buying money/xp will always appeal to people in this game, whether they actually do it or not, because the reward is often not worth the effort to most people. This is why the Adena sellers do so well. I have health issues which have prevented me from working so buying anything is out of the question for me, however, if I could buy xp products from other players who bought them with NCoin, by using Adena, this might encourage people to buy more products and thus spend more money.
My proposal is that NCSoft should sell something along these lines, or, sell money directly. Charge 15-20 USD per 100M and people will pay it. They're more likely to pay the 3-5x prices you see in game. Why? Security. If people can have a reasonable assurance their account won't be hacked when buying money, people who have never bought money will be more inclined to do so, and people who have already, will now have a secure way to do so, even if it's more expensive. I doubt this will mess much with the economy in game as tons of people are already buying Adena, which is why the spamming was so bad. Face it, the main reasons many people don't buy Adena right now are 1) it's against the rules, and 2) many people who have, had their accounts hacked. The fear of being hacked is more preventing than the whole "against the rules" thing.
I suggest selling the money directly because in the other game, Gold was, at one point, like 10k per years ago, and is now, last I heard, 2-3m.
Put the vitality back the way it was, sell the money directly, allow Galleria items to be tradeable (at least some), and I suspect this will solve many of the issues in the game, or at the very least lighten them up some.
Of course, some people will always whine and complain.
IF NCSoft had implimented the 'vitality by character' part of it and left vitality usage alone, everyone would be cheering. If the vitality usage went a lil' bit quicker, folks would buy more vit pots.
But when we can see our vit MOVE mob by mob it all comes across as a ploy for cash that implies that we players are pretty stupid because NC didn't think we could figure it out.
I was in fact quite surprised to see 90% of VP go in 1 SOA instance for less than 1% of XP. Prior to the update, Kartia 85 would use 40% of VP and yield 3+% XP plus 1 level for Fenir. Fully a third of all Kartias yielded no drops, before, am I to expect no drops now?
As to the old game, their was VP, but it would replenish with rest. Now it will take even longer than the old game to level up, with the way the VP is, even though it was already slow prior to the update. The penalty for pink mobs also makes the situation worse. I am in no big hurry to get anywhere here, but I can see how this would be frustrating to many. Clearly, playing this game at will and maximum can be quite expensive; too expensive for me, and probably too expensive for many others. When the VP potions I have collected over the last couple of years are gone, I will be forced to rethink even playing this game.
I guess the bottom line is that if you are going to present a pay to play model, you should call it that. Let the new players kow before they start, that the free model is only an introductory offer. If you want to continue playing the way you can at the start, it will cost you.
On top of all that the game is crashing, for me and others.
Ok, so now I have to add since I somehow missed this, the other toons on the account have their own VP, so all is not lost, until they awaken. At least one can continue to level them in the normal fashion, for now.

Game "IS" F2P and no one "forces" you to buy from the l2 store or the Galleria...Only you can decide if its f2p or not
:mad:I'm so glad I did not waste the $50 I was going to spend, prior to this latest patch. The vit consumption sucks. The price for NC coin is absurdly over priced compared to other F2P games, just one example Shaiya you get a minimum average of 120 coins per $1; plus bonus coin the more you buy. Lineage 2 store items are also extremely over priced, again example Shaiya 30 day xp stones are 2,500-3,800 coins; plus they run deals like buy 1 or 2 get 1 free.
Oh yeah before I forget, any other summoners notice the p.atk/m.atk was reduced on your summons after the patch?
So yeah, NC$oft will no longer be gouging this player.
If this is going to the same payment method used for Lineage Eternal...

Agree totally, and it is F2P right to the awakening, without any need to spend a nickel. You can, in fact, play to an extent afterwards too, but not in the same way unless you pay. However, not getting to play even one instance without totally exhausting the VP is a little extreme.

LMAO, not so long ago there was no such thing as Vitality and it took so much longer to grind. Even without vitality you level very fast these days... slow down and save your money... enjoy the ride before the ride is over.
lol no joke, what would some of the players think if they had to spam soulshots, god it would be the end of the world. just enjoy the game and make some friends. the great thing about l2 is the journey, hell some people will never cap out in this game and thats not really a bad thing if you can say you had fun after its all said and done.

Mega Casinos have always been built on profits... companies stay in business because of profits. The vitality feature was built on the need to have something faster, thanks to the entitlement generation, and providing this feature has proved to be a revenue source. When I fly first class I know I am paying for a luxury I choose to have, nothing more nothing less.
If you have to argue about the cost of a luxury... you can't afford the benefit of being rich.

That's the most stupid excuse a player would commit in NCs defence. Back in those days even the level cap was ''a little bit'' lower. Not mentioning what else has changed.
And yeah, people used to pay monthly for a fair game, not the ******** we're feeding on now. If they're going to continue powering up the rich people I prefer the old system where we pay monthly and receive actual support, bot hunts you know.
There's just no logical explaination for this except that they want to earn more which is okay, it's a business for them after all. My point is, boycott people. It's the way capitalist system works otherwise you'll be ripped off again and again.

boycott and they loose money, then we go the way of L1. I say let the rich people keep the game going as long as they can and if you dont want to spend money enjoy the fact that they did reduce the xp needed to hit 85 from where it was before this f2p and cash shop thing was even a thought in the back of the big wigs minds.

Naw DrachaVonDrachen is dead on. This game has always been about the grind on retail. Now when it went free to play the private server crowd came. You guys saved the game we all love by doing so. However you guys where use to amped up Exp and expected it. The vit system has provided that for you and a source of income for Lineage2.
They are loosing money and everyone knows that. If seperating vit per character and cutting the time it lasts by 2/3 helps that then so be it. For me every time I exp'd I used a vit maintaning pot. The k85 would wipe my whole bar of Vit before the last boss. Now it whipes it out before the first room is done. Either way I use a one vit maintaning pot and go str8 to the Nursery when done. You all are making a MOUNTAIN out of a MOLE HILL.
IF you never bought lvling items in the past you are loosing what an extra 1% after you awaken a week? If you bought the juju juice it changes nothing and you will still get essentially the same exp for your money.
I have gotten ****** at NCwest so many times and quit. Just spent 6 months wasted on Tera. I always end up back here playing this dammed game and I am glad they are finding a way to keep the servers open at all.....

+1 on this one, too. It's not about the shiney, glowy stuff you have. It's about interacting with people and communicating to the GMs about the real issues, not the petty ones.

A total boycott, and I mean a TOTAL boycott would send a message. No one buys any coins for whatever reason for at least a month. But something like that would be hard to arrange immediately. That means communicating with the adena sellers as well, if you can get them to co-operate, it will help. But, there is always a chance that NCSoft will close down L2 and shift the workforce to other depts, or even to the unemployment line. NCSoft will just move on because it still has other projects and games.
I agree with you. +1 The game is perfect the way it is, bots bugs spammers language barriers included. Buy or don't buy, your choice. Just enjoy the game and have fun with the people you game with.
boycott and they loose money, then we go the way of L1. I say let the rich people keep the game going as long as they can and if you dont want to spend money enjoy the fact that they did reduce the xp needed to hit 85 from where it was before this f2p and cash shop thing was even a thought in the back of the big wigs minds.
You're missing the point. There is a balance between making money and harming your own business. The "rich" players who fund this are slowly but surely growing tired of all the increased prices. The cost to play competitively shot through the roof with F2P, and at some point (probably sooner than many would think), those same "rich" players will just find some other game to sink their money into. Then there will be nothing left to support the servers.
For example: They add in DEWR, so all the Oly hero hopefuls have to run out and drop crazy money to make an OE wep. Then they add in a scroll with higher rate, so ppl now feel they have to get that to get a little bit more power. Then you get the stones for a bit more chance, and they work with the ancient scrolls. Then of course there are also the packs with Energy of Destruction, so you need those too because you can't let your competition get a talisman of longing while you only have hellfire. This is all within the span of 1 month, and the next thing we're likely to see is DEAR packs that people will have to grab for +6 armor and jewel sets.
This is on top of the adena that people have to either farm/buy (yea being realistic here) to get +10 skills (I personally have twenty +10 skills and the rest are mainly +7 or better), dyes, accessories, etc.
Of course there were always people that botted/ebayed for stuff, but they were limited by the actual in game presence of the items they needed. Now you put in your CC/paypal and a script //summons the item from thin air into your inventory. The nerf to vitality, while fairly meaningless at higher level, is still a symptom of NCSoft's effort to bleed as much from the player base as they can, regardless of the consequences to long term viability. That, in the long term, will kill this game.

Good post - just wanna add: ncsoft has always preferred the quick short term buck over making this game viable for long term.

Well, I am glad that you didn't think that I am trying to pick up a fight. Speaking for myself, I've bought coins in the past I never regret it. I am playing since C2 and appreciating the game as in one big picture and trying my best to help staff as much as possible. It's simple human nature, if you receive goods -which could be items, power-ups, or just simple appreciation- you're obligated to keep them going. But the thing is, I feel like they're kinda abusing this and taking the rich's side which is totally not cool. All I am telling is they should keep the balance between. It's not the real word where nations argue which one of them has bigger junk than the other, it's an amazing game and we're all here to enjoy this.

Love when class warfare is brought up in a game. lol
If you could not afford vitality maintaning items before you still will not be able to. Now you get 1% less a week over lvl 85.... You know what else you get? A FREAKING FREE SERVER TO PLAY ON. (Thanks to those rich people)
If you bought vitality in the past this changes very little you loose nothing becuase vit has been a joke with a maintaning pot since GOD. You actually gain some vitality on low level alts now. Cudos to NCwest for that.
"Vitality
The Vitality system has reverted to being character-based instead of account based, but even better; your character's main class, Dual Class, and Subclass each have a unique Vitality pool and weekly Vitality item limit!
The consumption speed of Vitality points when gaining XP is increased.
Keep in mind that, as of Goddess of Destruction launch, having Vitality points does create a drop rate bonus, but not having Vitality points creates a drop rate penalty. To achieve the most, have at least a few Vitality points on your character or class at all times."
Erm... Let me ask you l2 Staff team... with all respect but, wasn't hard enough before?
I mean, eventually people go to kartia solo and group everyday.
Kartia solo have a "fix" xp, don't matter how much vitality u have. Don't matter what happen, when the boss at end dies u take the same xp and don't waste any vitality.
Well Kartia group eat the full vit before it over.
So... what is my point?
With vitality making a drop bonus or penalty u are making so many people have problems.
Example? Me, my girlfriend and some friends in fortuna.
Me and my girl with full vitality, they just left kartia with 0 vit.
Well, We finished the whole instance without ANY DROP. Just an ear. Because they vitality we got problems too? So if we want make money we should not farm in open-areas or instances that consume our vitality? I'm sorry but this is really horrible. Vitality herbs? where? ;/
As well people yday cannot make marks for teredor/spezion...
Make the old system back and improve it making individual vit for players mains, duals, subs were really important for make the whole community happy.
What sounds good in an idea sometimes isn't. We can't close eyes for the problem with so many bot-users. The prices of the equipments are already too high coz this bad users farming with ilegal programs making a drop penalty u are just killing people that play without cheats or that isn't with one mannutence vitality item on.
I hope that I don't had insulted anyone writting this, just did it coz I think after this "vitality" change, instead of give 1 step foward we gave 2 steps for back.
NCSoft will just move on because it still has other projects and games.
heh thats true, i just hope lineage eternal doesnt steal away too many players. Im sure those that dont like the diablo style games wont go.

10 months after god lunch, this notice apear in patchnote.
Nice.

ok i gotta say that on this one i do think its a bit much. if the drop rate were bumped up a bit without having to buy vit pots then maybe people could stop feeding the adena sellers to get decent gear (post 85 cause before that its moot).
Over the past 24 hours we've seen and heard many complaints about the new changes to the Vitality system. Please read the following:
To clear up some confusion: The Vitality changes in our version of Glory Days included some changes that the Korean Glory Days brought as well as some additional changes in later patches. That is why some folks translating Korean patch notes will see a difference between those and our patch notes. The patch notes on our site are what we have, and there was no mistake.
That said, the staff of NCSOFT West was indeed surprised as the extent and impact of the Vitality changes, and your concerns and opinions about it are not going ignored.
Know that we are looking into this matter deeply and we are requesting that Korea send us different, more forgiving Vitality settings. We cannot say at this moment exactly what those new settings will be, or when they will be implemented, but we should have more news for you in the near future.
Well I have to say I am very disappointed with the Vitality change. We all were hyped to think all our subs and account chars would recieve the full amount of vit. NO it did not work that way so PUT IT BACK...NO ONE LIKES IT!!!! One Kartia and your vit is gone....that is CRAP. It was better before, and now you cant even recharge your overall vit with a pot from another char on your same account and alot of these pots people have been saving are nontransferable. So our Vit has been cut by a third or less~! and if you dont have a sub your overall vit is Nerfed!!! This was a bad idea, we are ****** ...please put it back the way it was, if you want us to buy more vit pots make them cheeper dont piss people of by doing this kind if crap.

actually, they cant 'put it back' if you wanna ask for have it back you should write to koreans.
In all this time of patches, people still didnt learn that ncsoft just put patches from korea, they dont own them, they dont chose what to change, they just get it from korea and yeah, they cant do anything for it
"Dirty and underhanded" is an opinion but that is economics among businesses and companies. And you know you will.
ugh...let me point out what ncsoft does to games that lose most of their players
Lineage - the original flagship game that's still popular and running well in korea (shut down for lack of player base)
Tabula Rasa - was supposed to be the next big thing, hiring a game guru in Richard Garriott and investing millions to the development (failed miserably in marketing, shut down after only few years of service)
Lineage 2 - most of the players who've played the game from launch are currently in the "where are they now" section of gaming history, but still a few remain. with the return of GoD, many came back, only to get disappointed and become true F2P players who log in once, maybe twice a week to get rid of the vp, or to see if anything changed at all. (you applauding cut-throat business will eventually repel any existing players or future ones, eventually leading to what has happened with the other two aforementioned games. the community boards are meant for people to give feedbacks with open discussions, not merely for just bashing one side in favor of the other)
P.S.
keep supporting the cause, eventually you're going to run out of things to support and then the game itself will have disappeared completely, trust me, i was one of the lineage players who played the game back oh when there was just talking island, before gludin was even updated, gm's actually came online and played / asked the players of their feed backs probably right up to the giran update, then the game became business and cut throat as you say. some stayed to keep playing the game, others have quit the game and moved on to a different game (WoW mostly), some went back and forth to see if anything really changed only to cancel the subscription after few weeks...sound familiar?

I remember when the GMs came online. I even remember the GM events on the PTS before they officially release the next update. Now, those were the Glory Days. :p But, you are right, people do lose interest eventually. Players get tired of a game and move on to the next one to take a break. Game companies lose interest in supporting their out of date games and close them down to make room for new ones, really sounds like that the games are on a belt heading to the archive room to one day see the light of day again as a "Remember this game we used to play?" release. But, lets not really put NCSoft on the spot on how they don't upkeep their games. I'm sure other companies do it, too. I used to get annoyed whenever my Fallout 3/New Vegas game would crash on me. Now, I just restart the game and go about reverse pickpocket a grenade in a raider's pants. I like it when things go !BOOM!. :D
most of ppl complain about vitality are newbies, they came probably from a private server (which believed that was free of bots and legit) and they wona reach asap 95+lvl.
some ppl spend time and money to go 95+lvl and y wona go in few week this lvl with out buy ncoins and blame nscosft for vitality?
vitality may reduce but the game has more quest that gives y huge exp so no worried about vit find a clan, o make friends and dailies and dungeon with out worried about vit.
the game is free, ncoins is for ppl that dont have time to play for hours they wona spend some coins to reach high lvls, pvp and party with ppl,
some ppl work have life but they still wona play or some wona reach lvl 99 and end.
i will tell y again read the patch notes learn about the game quests.
another thing that is anoying is that some ppl believed that glory days is bugged ,they make me sick because y probably had some modify client from a private server that change the data or running multiple server or try to bot in server official or private.
whattttttttttttttttttttttttt i install the game and game runs smooth than before better graphics and fast skill response.
i only blame ncosft that all these months had a diamond in their hands and didnt release soon glory days is by far better client than before.
again thxs nscoft dont change anything about vitality because some ppl are lazy to find the new quests to exp.

ok then erased vitality points and believe only 200% exp runes for lvl 85+, because today is unfit vitality

A few years back we had to crawl up hill backwards in the snow to get XP, there was no vitality and there sure as heck was no L2Store! Back in 2010 we were hardcore and proud. We didn't cry when we got PKed. We didn't complain the Quest were too hard. Now any 10 year old can buy Adena directly from NCsoft and acquire 6 times the XP with a Paypal account. These young whipper snappers don't realize how great they have it in this Care Bear excuse of a game.
Care Bear (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Care%20Bear)
A lightly derogatory term for an MMO player who avoids PVP combat, heavily preferring cooperative or solo PVE combat, chatting, or developing tradeskills/running quests. Depending on the game and the individual, this PVP avoidance can show up in several ways: by playing on strict non-PVP servers; by avoiding PVP areas or declining duels; or, by avoiding or condemning PVP players.

We have achieved our goal. We've got promise that they will try to do something with it. I think its time to stop spamming here guys and hope that Sace is not lying :P

I assume you are talking about NCsoft's Korea business because their business in the West for the past 6 years has been a disaster. They are losing big bucks every month. Why do you think they did mass layoffs near the launch of GoD in North America?
In fact, due to the severance pay associated with those layoffs NCsoft Korea even lost money in 2011 for the first time since 2006. NCsoft West is a giant black hole consuming all the money it makes and a significant portion of what NCsoft Korea generates. I think you need to take a closer look at those earnings statements.

To be honest, I've been playin Lineage for 7 years or so. And I never really minded anything, as long as I had the game. I paid subs, sometimes 1, some months 2... I was younger and unemployed back then.
I do work now, I do have my own money and I don't really have anything against the money shop ingame, as system. But how it came out to be, really is a different matter. None of their products makes me want to spend MY money on them. Except some appearance stones which i really wanted because of maybe nostalgy, even though i'm busting my *** hours and hours every day to lvl and i would totally totally LOVE to have those exp runes....
... i don't think it's worth the money. And man, I AM one of those addicts.
The new vitality system? To me, the vp concept itself just became a joke. Why pay hard worked dollars for something that goes away by mistakingly killing a few mobs? Do I really need this stress about not accidentally killing a mob and dropping my paid vp? No, I don't. It's just too much of a bother.
And tell u another thing. Players in this game are just too unstable. You can't rely on the fact that you will drink a pot and stay there for 4 hours. Or one hour untill the pot goes off. Someone will disconnect, someone will have wars... someone gets tired. And then u just spent money on their failure.
Wanna hear how "pros" spend their birthday vps? find a bot train a roll.
So I just have to wonder what is the NCSoft strategy behind this? behind the prices, behind these changes.
Being part of a big clan, I know a lot of "addicted" players, old players, new players from privates etc. All kinds of ppl. And then I know my own constant pt in which i played for the past 6 months. And here is what i noticed:
1.the vast majority of people never bough and will never buy NcCoins.
2.a vast majority within this previous vast majority prefers to bot to gain income ingame.
3. most of these nonlegit players think it's cheaper to directly buy adena and powerleveling than the NcCoins.
4. free to play server just made the bot problem worse. there are zones we all know that can't be farmed by normal active people anymore because they are farmed and camped by trains of bots of specific powerful clans. Like LoA area, like monastery, like imperial tomb. You can't afford pk chars and bot trains? No problem you can always get a cheap spot in swamp.
5. NcShop offers are just not tempting for a wide majority of people who WOULD like to buy, but just think things are too expensive. What that means is that only quite a few people, usually aged 30+ with stable good income pay for these extra passes, runes, boosts, scrolls of destruction, ALL together. They spend A LOT, because they like the game and they want the boosts and they can afford it. But that leaves the rest of the people left frustrated, dissatisfied and unhappy.
6. People who spend hundreds of dollars every month on this game are, to put it bluntly, "reckless". Someone who is willing to spend this much on a game will go further if circumstances allow it, because he wants to WIN. these are the guys that additionally buy adenas and bot for draco potions who fortunatelly cant be (maybe yet( found in ncstore, and use 3rd pt softwares to improve their pvp. Or you say it's not funny how draco pots and res scrolls are still in auction in packs of 1000 after what? 5 months afetr the event?
That is just my take on things. I wouldn't have said it unless I had the experience and knowledge about this.
Vitality system was boosted in past when it was 300% on Lv4. Now you did low it to 200% (unless it's an event period), so you'd better increase it.
After those changes it's even worse than before. You can't even reach the boss in Kartia instance keeping your vitality applied.
EVERYONE would like this to be changed back, and even more to keep it as it is but with the pre-update period vitality amount applied individually on each class and character in the same account.
If i have said it once...i have said it a thousand times...why cant the ppl over there at NC soft come out with an update that doesnt mes up something else...For Gods sake...use the Old PTS and problems like this Vita thing wouldnt happen. I mean when i can physically see my vit go down when killing a mob and then kill 50-60 mobs and my vit all gone. This is either and Honest Mistake or an Honest Intention to Give it to us good( i personally think it's the latter....Your Vit is a Joke...why i keep playing this game is beyond me. IMO NC gonna drive themselves to the grave if they dont stop with their greed
Hey Sace.....i have a question for you and ill get to it as soon as im done with my statement. If i go shopping at Target/Walmart/Costco and buy say a Laptop and i get it home and it doesnt fit my needs...so...i go back to the store and ask for a refund cuz im not happy with the results/ it doesnt suit my needs...guess what...they give me a refund with tax included. Now with this new Vitality system....im not happy/doesnt fit my needs ( just like the laptop that i got a refund on ).....Am i getting a refund for all the coin i bought for Vit items to replace the Vit back to what it was prior to Glory Days?...if in fact the answer is no....ill have to talk to my credit card company and see if there is a way to either "stop payment" or get a "refund"
You can always revert things on your credit card from the time you get the printed statement until about four weeks after. If you choose to do that however you can be certain that your account will be closed free to play or not because NCsoft will have to pay chargeback fees and they will be ******.
Your Walmart comparison is somewhat lacking... The thing you are describing is more like this: You have a ****** laptop, you are going to Walmart to buy a better one. You come home with it and notice it's even shittier than the old one. You then return to Walmart with it and demand that they pay the upgrades necessary to it to make it at least as good as the one you wanted to replace.
There is a difference between making money and all out greediness.....i am not opposed to companies making money...hell i use alot of the things those companies are selling, but the one thing i never feel after shopping at those stores is "Ripped Off", which is not the way i feel about this new Model...This new model wasnt built for new players or ppl with lower incomes, it was made for ppl with Fat Egos and Fat Wallets. yes it is true , you dont need to pay to play, but lets see where ya are in another 8 years (lvl 85-99) when the Lvl cap becomes 120...and yes...yet again you'll be behind trying to play catch up so you can hang with your friends who DID buy from the L2 store and now cant lvl with cuz you didnt pay to play and they left you in their dust. There has to be a place somewhere in the middle where Both sides are happy...right now the only ppl happy are the PPl at NC Soft as they lie naked in their bed rolling around in all the money we put in their pockets. It is a sad thing to say, we have lost 35 ppl from our clan cuz ppl DO NOT like this model and there are plans for others to leave as well and if NC wants to keep these ppl, they may wanna try something different ( this time in the right direction ).
most of ppl complain about vitality are newbies, they came probably from a private server (which believed that was free of bots and legit) and they wona reach asap 95+lvl.
some ppl spend time and money to go 95+lvl and y wona go in few week this lvl with out buy ncoins and blame nscosft for vitality?
vitality may reduce but the game has more quest that gives y huge exp so no worried about vit find a clan, o make friends and dailies and dungeon with out worried about vit.
the game is free, ncoins is for ppl that dont have time to play for hours they wona spend some coins to reach high lvls, pvp and party with ppl,
some ppl work have life but they still wona play or some wona reach lvl 99 and end.
i will tell y again read the patch notes learn about the game quests.
another thing that is anoying is that some ppl believed that glory days is bugged ,they make me sick because y probably had some modify client from a private server that change the data or running multiple server or try to bot in server official or private.
whattttttttttttttttttttttttt i install the game and game runs smooth than before better graphics and fast skill response.
i only blame ncosft that all these months had a diamond in their hands and didnt release soon glory days is by far better client than before.
again thxs nscoft dont change anything about vitality because some ppl are lazy to find the new quests to exp.
Keep in mind....this is only "your" opinion....and like the old saying goes...."Opinions are like *** holes, everyones got one...and they all stink". i also want to address you comment on the only ppl wanting/needing Vit is a newb player. You sir obviously didnt P2P in the past, cuz if ya had,you would be ****** to. In the old days, Vitality wasnt an issue cuz there was no such thing as Vitality, then they give it to us, spoil us with it, we have it for over a year and now comes GoD with the New and Improved Vit system which still sucked but is a whole lot better than what we have now
You guys are hilarious ... what did you expect? to get 28 times more vitality all of a sudden? (7 characters per account times 4 classes each)?
Of course since vitality moved back to being per character (and further to that per class) from being per account the vitality available on each individual class would be less than the vitality that used be available across the whole account. In total though you get more vitality per account than you used to have.
Not being able to get to the raid boss (where the ONLY drops are) on one bar of Vitality, requiring vitality for drops, else a penalty is dirty business.
Vitality has always been stupid, but this update is the worst yet.
I often use the $0.50 vit pots for raid bosses, but I dislike receiving a drop penalty if I don't. What's next, we get debuff and the only cure is special potions from L2 Store? f2p? rofl.

The "distribution" of vitality across characters and subs isn't really a good justification for lowering the vitality point pool since it doesn't translate to fun for most players. How many of us at this point have more than one character on each account on which we spend our time (and NCoin) equally? If anything, with F2P, we have multiple accounts with separate "mains." Even with subclasses, how does having a separate vitality bar for each lvl 80 subclass help? Dual class is helpful for most, but not when the vitality depletes too quickly to be of any real use.
I thank Sace for giving official recognition and response to this issue and don't have anything further to say on it except to wonder why some players insist on trying to say that the system is just fine the way it is now. It's like saying you're happy to be worse off, which I don't really understand. You don't have to be an egregious whiner to say, "You know, I'm not satifisfied with this change and don't think it necessary or useful."

Are you kidding me? On what grounds, how about false advertising? Every statement after the other is either false or crap, misleading people intentionally. And the game hasn’t always been f2p and me as many other players, we paid the salary for them. It was either though the subscription or most recently through the in-game items, which I’ve stopped buying a long time ago. They are selling false delusions and treating their customers worse than any other game company. And I can assure you I’m no troll, is not only about this update is about the entire history NCWest has had with this game.
Have a nice one!
===
Yes, all of that sounds outrageously ridiculous, but the SrStupedHead/NCSoft Business Model is here to stay! Nothing to be done!
hahaha, I almost died laughing at this.
While it is shady, I agree with the fact NCSoft is running a business... So why doesn't everyone prove they wont stand for raised prices of vit items and reduced amount of time with vit? They stripped the longevity of vitality and raised the price thinking we would accept it..
Just don't buy anything for a month or two. I'm in the military- and we have a saying when planning any operation- "The enemy has a vote." Well, the consumer has a vote too, especially in this plan that NCSoft has placed forward. Let's use our vote.
About it... That penalty in drop items because 0 vitality will still on? May we will take our vitality back or some compensation?
The penalty to drops, XP and SP has been in place since Goddess of Destruction (as long as you have Vitality you get them as normal, but if you have no Vitality they are nerfed/the penalty applies) and it is not being changed or removed with Glory Days nor with this maintenance. There are no current plans to refill Vitality before it is automatically refilled next Wednesday.

You are missing there point: With the drastic loss of Vitality after maintenance the majority of the community were in groups doing Raid Bosses and grinding without vitality and therefore PENALIZED.

^this thus resulting in the use of more vitality replenishing items. Good it's fixed now,but I think the right thing would also to be a vitality refill for all or at least vitality items to compensate.
That's my thinking... Before I was buying 1 or 2 vit pots a day to make my vit last throughout the week.. no I would require 3 or 4 a day to last throughout the week but you can only use 20 a week and I refuse to spend anymore money than I already do.. so I will just forego the vitality pots until it's changed back to pre glory days.
Grats on fixing your mistakes so fast NC but i mean, would it really hurt THAT much to just replenish our vitality as compensation? Before GoD launched you threw all types of events at a disgruntled fan base and we actually started to like you guys. There are ways to make profits with the store AS YOU HAVE SEEN without being so ruthless about making a quick buck. You guys need to learn that the l2 fan base isnt going away and you really should focus on the longevity of that client base instead of just a quick cash grab.If you guys actually go out of your way to care about the players more you will make much more money...i promise. I know its just 1 week of vit and i honestly dont care about it...i just care that you never bothered to replace it.:(

Oh c'mon give me a break. You ppl got so much lazy .. "pls replanish our vitality" when vit herbs drop from solo spots every 20 mins. Since Wednesday i've menaged to bow off all my vit and Full restore it TWICE.Why so much QQ then ?

Where did you farm? DV for 40 min, no herb. Succubus 40 min, no herb. WoA for daily, no herb.
Why do some of you guys keep calling this a mistake. NCsoft radically increased the number of vitality items you could purchase by making vitality on a per character basis and then tried to force you to buy them by making your vitality bars vanish in 10 minutes of killing mobs.
There was no mistake. They did what they intended to do. lol
Hamidemian, yesterday my hubby n I AOE'd swamps and we got two in about 10 minutes.... then did not get any more for 30. I'm thinking maybe it geared to high lvl spots? Or you need a higher kill rate.
Conclusion?
Not gonna buy a single stinking Ncoin in my life!
Maybe I'd if you were fair.
before Glory days
2x kartia , fortuna and maybe more....
after glory days
NO VP on 1st boss in kartia this is like 1/4 kartia
after fix NCSOFT claim that vitality is fixed but its not :
1 kartia = 2.5 Bars of vitality lost = no chance of second kartia
so for me this is not a fix...Im also finished of buying Ncoins ever...
In the 1950s a hamburger cost 15 cents; cheeseburgers, 19 cents; fries, 10 cents; milkshakes, 20 cents. Over the years the cost of these items has increased, companies increased the price these items were sold to maintain profits... to stay in business.
