It's mostly up on weekends,a red coloured cloud appears surrounding a device to port in near the big building. If you need infos about what to do inside there are some videos on youtube or i can tell you.
2.- After 1 hour of campaing if you successfully complete it, Altar of Shilen will be opened :D
So I guess if this one is not currently available is because of no one have completed the campaing
but I think that this campaign is not working, at least on Bartz server I do not see this campaign come ...
You know what's funnier, is that already do almost or just over 2 weeks with this and nobody solved this problem yet! or does not know that this not worked? I think we need GM to play like normal players on the server and not with GM status, so they know the problems of the server, for that who are there do not know anything ..

campaign works fine on naia the fact that no1 gives a **** about it means the campaign will fail always thus instance never opens
pre glory days no matter of campaign failed or not it would open anyway
You dont need any campaign to enter that instance, Altar opens randomly. But it doesnt work at all since Glory Days update.
Can Any Gm give an official answer????
GMs dont read forums. Its not like it was at your favorite private server. Use support ticket to ask GMs directly https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/

That got changed with GD. Now you need that campaign to be done.
Which is kinda impossible based on the amount of 95+ chars that rly do this instance.
Many have the SA's already, others are simply at 99 and see no sense in doing Altar anymore.
You also have to factor in the Clan Wars and the resulting pvp during that Campaign.

Well, you already answered everything perfectly, only adding that currently, (I will not generalize, since i dunno about others servers, but where I play, it is useless to make campaigns, no one does, there is no incentive, maybe server starting to show signs of death early, or the players sufficiently equipped.)
Hi all just need some info about this. Since glory days update i cant find altar of shillien open... Use to be wednesday friday, saturday on Bartz server, but since glory days is just closed all time.
My question is if theres something to do to activate it like old server quest for open hellbound or like i hear somewhere i do a campaign for this.
Thx in advance for ur answers
well as mentioned before pending on the rewards folks might participate, take the zombie campaign for example if it actually worked many would do it just for the rewards.. like really who wouldn't for a chance on an earth wyrm ring (ultra rare reward but still) etc.
According to the second link it say u only need to have the campaing active but not say nothing about to have this done in sucessfull way. How can kill this quantity of mobs with the low activity on most part of servers(activity intended as legit players doing instance not afk playing :X)
I put in the English link just as an aid for those who are not so familiar with Sino-Korean expressions :)
In fact our English patch notes are not entirely correctly translated. Relevant is what it says in the Korean text:
특정 시간에 진행되는 캠페인을 완료하면 실렌의 봉인 중앙에 나타난 차원문을 통해 입장********* 수 있다 http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%EC%8B%A4%EB%A0%8C%EC%9D%98+%EC%A0%9C%EB%8B%A8
When the Campaign, which is held at specific times, has been successfully completed, players can enter through the Dimensional Gate which appears in the center of the Seal of Shilen
The afk players might indeed be a problem. ColleagueA arrived at the above numbers by testing the "Destroy Shilen's Creatures" Campaign on an empty event server. He is not sure whether the number of players logged in on a live server has an impact on the target number of monsters that must be killed. If that should be the case, a lot of bots would drive up the target, making it even more difficult to complete the Campaign successfully.
But if we assume that there are at least 100 players of lvl 95+ logged in at the time when the campaign gets set off at 13:30 and at 23:00, then all that needs to be done is that the majority of them congregates at the Forbidden Gateway and concentrates on taking out Shilen's Creatures as soon as they spawn. Server populations that cooperate get rewarded, server populations who prefer to hit each other over the head get punished. Working as intended :D
There is the problem. No way to complete this instance. The number of monsters is simply way to high.
Also if really 100 or even 200 players killing these mobs there would be soo many wartags around which prefer to farm crp ;)
Pretty simple, R95 SC are broken, OE your Apo and keep on moving towards 99
I'm sorry but i find all this situation with R95 crystals ridiculous! There are 2 facts.
1) Campaigns are a failure, everyone admits that. The rewards have always been minimum, so noone even cares. Now they allow access to an essential item for lvl95 players only by doing a long failed instance, with very high requirements and in open field. Yea right...
2) Servers at this period have a lot of 90+ players, we can all see that by looking at the AH (items sold), party matching (kartia90 rooms, istina, fortuna, spicula, spezion etc). Also with the addition of spicula quests (93+) many players got a big boost to reach lvl95. So with so many players trying to make their lvl95 gear, practicaly noone is able to make a weapon right now! In fact, it's easier to get lvl99 weapons!
So i think there is a huge gap in game development progress. Remember, this is NOT Korea, this campaign is never gonna be completed, who says otherwise, just go to SoS during it and watch lvl99 players of the biggest clans porting to find pvp and 1-2 players solo xp-ing.
As a suggestion, R95 crystals should be made available through Epic Spezion or Kartia 95 etc. Just like the R ones!
My worst fear is that they will put them in store for sale for some extra money!
i think we can say BB to sos instance.
even if clans make partyes for this campain, how much will stay? 1 min? 2 min? and then will end in mass pvp cos of war tags. I doubt also that lot of players 95+ are in clans w/o wars (at least on magmeld that is already empty) for make the campain.
also this means, every time u need this campain for open it? yay maybe for a kind of miracle will happen 1 time, but really lol lets say BB to it

Shilen's Altar being accessible even without the Campaign having been successfully completed was a bug.
Yeah NCsoft got a talent for breaking something that worked alright.
Most of lvl 95+ people are members of top clans, they already got their weapons and stuff, so they are absolutely not interested in participating in idiotic campaigns.
Whereas those who'd really need to accomplish the goal of that campaign cannot take part in it all.
That's NCKorea's infinite wisdom at its best.
So people are QQing because a bug is not a bug anymore and can't be exploited ?
I think, that people are QQing, because the bug was providing a workaround for a failed game mechanic, and now, as the bug is fixed, there is no workaround. Also it is unfair situation between those, who already got their R95 weapons, and those, that are about to get them in the future.
welcome to L2.. this happened so often that it really shouldnt be a surprise any more..
before this it was the rewards that you got from spez etc. were changed from full items to mats only.. also very unfair for those that weren't 90+..
in short: if you want to get max profit & gains out of this game you gotta be on top or suck it up..
This is yet another incentive to rush to 99. The faster you reach the current features, the more you gain from it, stay behind, and you'll get hit with nerf after nerf after nerf till there's a point one can't compete.
Guys we are not talking about all players being able to have Valakas! We are talking about being able to get your own level weapon, just like when u turn R grade! Huge difference! It's not even endgame stuff!
Guys we are not talking about all players being able to have Valakas! We are talking about being able to get your own level weapon, just like when u turn R grade! Huge difference! It's not even endgame stuff!
So everyone should get one easily because it's a basic thing?
Let's just face it, the bug was letting the instance open without the campaign, so the lazy 95+ people could get their R95 crystals without actually get up on their feet and doing something as intended.
You are exactly right... Although I think getting gear from quests and not being able to put SA on a weapon is totally different.
well it's the same when it involves stacked parties farming the stuff for resale on market.. why you think TW prices went up after the nerf on spez ? same is now happening with the R95 crys..
hey am one of those chars that has lots of useless sincerity now as well so meh..
Reminds me of when Fortresses in Aion were unsiegable because the maximum siege time was calibrated for hundreds of Korean instead of 60-120 NA/EU crowds. You could never siege a defended fortress quick enough to take it.
If this was Classic Antharas or some other epic raid I would agree with massive participation being required. However, a midtier weapon/SA? No thanks.
Entry barrier dissuades people from leveling up, especially as high level players have already reaped the benefits and are likely using those benefits against the lower level players.
It's bad for the game long term, tone down the participation requirement.
well, i think we'll never see this instance open again.
beside cos people wont do the campains, biggest problem is: from a campain in 30 seconds sos will become a siege, with pvp everywhere.
yday I had to talk to the npc in sos for the 3rd class change in subclass, i had to bsoe 5 times (in 3 different moments of the day), wont image if 'all' clans will be together for a campain.
my (crazy) idea would be to make peace for the campain, after ended it mass pvp or w/e everyone wants, but i know im crazy to think that even an other person in whole server would think like me.
I've my specter weapon with sa, but i liked that instance for various reasons: drop (well, on magmeld r.95 weapons are 1bil+ and more), crystals (still money from selling them).
But i think will be impossible do that campain
The ONLY r95 crys on AH on naia is priced at 950m, gg. Just better to double SA APO, and go to 99 with it like Draecke mentioned, server will run out of r95 crystals soon.
That's because campaigns were intended for a gaming population, like the Korean one, which prefers collaboration to competition. That's the main reason the campaigns are successfully accomplished there, while in our servers they fail because the community fails to see the main purpose for which they were designed: collaborate with each other to reach a goal and take the rewards.
Or simply don't care enough to do it, with the result of seeing the Orbis zone quest and SoS campaign fail every time, even if the rewards are (at least on paper) excellent and favourable for everyone.
This is a PVP-oriented game, it is virtually impossible to put competitive gamers colaborating for the same cause when the related colaboration is to help mid-game.
This "campaign" goes against everything L2 stands for which is competition. We don't have factions to suport this type of gameplay.
People can't be brainwashed into doing something they don't want, the instance itself bores me to death and alrdy makes it feel OBLIGED to do it to begin with, and im easy going with this stuff. I was going various times on weekends and it took long to get enough for 3 SA crystals which i should've taken when i had the chance, now im stuck with the items. For people to colaborate, one would have to have SOS be a "peace zone" until the game shutsdown, that 's R-tarded.

We did go on campagns the first days..
Porting in dh village meant getting shot by enemys in black screen, yes black screen since the lag was huge.Went with alt toon, couldnt move at all due to lag, tried to target the campaign mobs, there were not enough for all the people that went.I dont know how koreans can run their campaign on the small space outside de village old wharehouse and all korean players run happily after mobs, but on Ncwest servers we had nothing than lag.
-Btw,arent all campaigns farmed by socketca?where's the mighty mortal to open altar?-
That's because campaigns were intended for a gaming population, like the Korean one, which prefers collaboration to competition.
Collab... what?
I'm lost: what game are you talking about? Lineage2??
Ok: since when L2 is about collaboration???
It has always been about the opposite: clans war each other and try to prevent each other from getting to the top. It's all about putting areas on lockdown, raiding something before the competitor can do it; farming something while not letting anyone else farm the same stuff, and so on.
However, when there's a bottleneck in the game world that can be easily controlled and exploited, it's called bad design, and it should be fixed. Remember how professional farmers monopolized Lilith while the rest of the server had no way of obtaining soul crystals other than purchasing them from the farmers? So, when the developers realized that, they added new bosses for crystal leveling.
Yet the current devs team looks like they have no clue what they're doing: they keep changing the game, moving some things back and forth (e.g.: monsters will drop herbs of vitality! monsters will no longer drop herbs of vitality! monsters will drop herbs of vitality again! and so on). And, no matter how idiotic some of these changes look, there's always someone to support that: "It's working as intended".
Care to dance? Campaign failed, gg.
Ok next time they will probably introduce a campaign during which you'll have to create thousands of lvl 1 toons to enjoy catching butterflies in the fields of lag, all together. Sounds like fun eh?

Sorta. Koreans have always favored cooperation for sure, but there populations were never that lopsided either. It easier to gather a massive coalition to take down a Dragon, when there are 4-7 major alliances on a server rather than 1-3.
Why would you help they people who are going to push you out of leveling, who will prevent you from farming bosses? All the wonderful tactics that happen in NA, also happen in Korea. Theres just more clans to work with.
NA political landscape usually ends up as two sides. One dominating, and one developing. The dominating entity attempts to suffocate the developing entity as much as possible. While the developing entity minimizes the damage it takes, trying to merge smaller entities into itself so it can effectively fight the dominate one. Any developing alliance getting caught between the forces dies 90% of the time.
There is no room to breath in NA/EU. One of the minor failures I believe of L2.

Managed to get the campaign to half whit 3 parties.Making trains in the upper and lower of the SOS.
You can open the portal whit 6 parties each whit their own spot.
Cemetery included.
But that will mean making it a clan event. Why would my clan open the instance for my enemies and vice verso?
Instead of being afk and getting lvl in gf or orbis or even hellfire they should take 40 min and try to make the campaign.I'm not talking about clans only;randoms can create party rooms also,to make the campaign.
3 random parties +another 4-5 from different clans and the portal will be opened.
Problem is that players don't know why SOS portal is closed they still think its a bug that must be fixed.Heroes on all server's should spam and let players know that portal will be opened only by completing the campaign.

See, it's absolutely doable :)
This is just a political problem. And under that aspect everybody might want to meditate on the Dimensional Magician, an NPC that provides a +100% exp buff (like the Fall of the Dragon buff after Antharas gets killed) to the server who takes a castle in the cross server wars: http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/event/sa/121107_battle/index
(about halfway down the page)
The cross server wars are technically a free-for-all, like the Ceremony of Chaos, there is nothing to prevent anybody from killing anyone, but either SilentHorrors and DragonHunters let bygones be bygones (and gang up on Nova and Enmity) or Naia will be playing at 1x exp :D

I talked about how Koreans mostly play and see the game. And since the game is attuned to the Korean players' philosophies and ways of gaming, that's inevitable that we get pure cooperation-oriented stuff while in our servers the clans try to bite each other's remains.
As long as things stay like this, we'll never get a game specifically suitable for the Western players' way of competing.
Aconyte, you must not underestimate Confucian educational terrorism. Children who see in a video game that competitiveness leads to poverty are much more prone to put in an afternoon of community work and help clean out the irrigation ditches of their village, even if only some farmers and not they themselves benefit from their work. This is not trivial. When I was young, in the 1960s, South Korea was famous for its famines (dictatorship does not work). People either cooperate or everybody starves.
The change to the Seal of Shilen instance did not come randomly through an error of programming but it was a deliberately fixed bug in the export version. The present way is how the developers want this to work, not only in Korea but everywhere in the world. We must either accept this or ask whoever is acting L2 producer at NCWest at the moment to forward the players' discontent through official channels to Seoul.
an official response about its working would help some I'm sure. 2 of the 3 pages in this topic was just asking if it was broken or if we have to do the campaign.
You can't do anything solo in this game. You need help, you need people, you need cooperation.
Simple as that. People justify being selfish because it's a PvP game.
This game IS about being selfish!
If some1 takes your spot, everyone says, deal with it.
It some1 scams you, everyone says, deal with it.
If some1 takes better drop than you even tho he's a newb, everyone says deal with it.
And now we are suposed to have everyday peace on SOS and be friendly to enemies? It goes agaisnt everything L2 stands for.
Just because Koreans make, doesn't make it right, nor rational. They are not smarter on a game, and nothing excuses them to put their nationalism on ours.

Actually, dictatorship does work (since it forces people to cooperate), you just need a perfect dictator such as Stalin or Lee Kwan Yew (Lǐ Guāngyào) to build a perfect society ;) (May the prosperous city of Singapore be an example.)
It's in the libertarian society where everyone is on their own and left alone with their own egotistical needs and desires, collaboration is barely possible.
Anyway, my point was simple: Lineage 2 has always been positioned as a game where competition and oppression is enforced; it's called "Chaotic Chronicles" for a reason.
Trying to force players to cooperate with each other after so many years of encouraging selfish and anti-social behaviour seems just silly.

By the way, we had something similar to the Bartz Liberation War when the Dwarven Hammerstrike clan on Lionna took Giran Castle in October 2007, also with the help of players from other servers who had made characters on Lionna for the purpose. Nothing is impossible :D
If this really can be done with 6 parties, then sounds fair. In theory ally that I'm in have around 5-8 CPs, so it's just a matter of leaders standing up to the task.
I just wish I wouldn't have quited game at the beginning of GOD, so I would be 95+ already.
The whole matter of SoS isn't only R95 Crystals, the instance also provided some R95 stuff, after Glory Days many ppl hited 95 on Bartz, before GD a Seraph LA price were 350~500M and you could find many, now it's the rarest thing to see in AH and when someone put it on AH it's almost the same price as Seraph BP around 1B.
Besides the factor of mob killing there is the time when it starts, on weekend s:
2 a.m. 95+ people are sleeping or afk exping, few players are not afk.
2 p.m. 95+ Are afk exping, doing their daily Instance/quests cos they want to be free for Oly, or going out it's weekend after all.
8 p.m. Even the 95+ afk exping left their spots to join Oly are and fighting (buying points, helping clan mates, farming etc etc) at Olympiad and none will leave the town for SoS.
Here I leave my sugestions:
- One way to go it's to increase the quest window
- Leave it open for the week after the quest is done
- Make the players doing the campaing (the ones who clicked at campaing button) non attackble (this one will never gonna happe)
- Since fortuna is an 90+ Instance and R95 stuff can be dropped there, they could do the same with Altar adjust only mob level and let people 90+ also enter, this way the campain can be done easier on NC West servers.
You can't do anything solo in this game. You need help, you need people

Quite true.
Question is,where to find the people to fill the game when game changed so bad its Lineage2 only in name. The new players were introduced into a game they take free gear, fast lvls and with an event every 6 months they get some free hundreads of millions.Once they realise there's no game after 95 without good computer and a credit card with monthly bills for L2,they quit.
By the way, we had something similar to the Bartz Liberation War when the Dwarven Hammerstrike clan on Lionna took Giran Castle in October 2007, also with the help of players from other servers who had made characters on Lionna for the purpose. Nothing is impossible :D
Elmar i respect you for all the informations you are giving us but i believe that there should be no comparison of our servers to korean servers and gaming at all.
Not because they are better players or they collaborate and we dont, but because Ncsoft all these years operated the game in a much different way than Ncwest.Korean players were paying to play and were getting also the best quests and rewards, while we are paying to play and were getting crap. Also, noone from us played ever in korean servers' big clans to know what is really going on and what players need to do to keep their ''glory'' ingame.
Us,if we are not usa citizents with game store in our city to buy their gamecard, there's no free gift-adena for us,if we dont buy from coin shop there's no vitality for us ect ect ect.Our struggle to reach 99/99/80 with X1 xp longing for the day we will be free again to login and do what we want and not what we have,is more than enough to stop any other action.I hear more and more people quiting because they realise the game has stopped been for fun and became a prison - its totaly insane to accept that you are a prisoner in your real life that you need to work and spent your free time working in a virtual world that takes your real money too-.
I absolutely agree that you can not compare NCKorea servers to NCWest servers. This starts with such simple things as Korea, Taiwan, Japan etc. being one-time-zone territories, so it's much easier to match campaign times with server activity peak times than at NCwest, where you have for example on Chronos players from Russia to Australia. What many of the new players do not understand is that this game is made in Korea for the Korean market. In their infinite mercy NCsoft permits us to give them our money, setting up some servers in Texas where we can play a game with English-language dialogue screens.
Expecting major adaptions to the specific circumstances in overseas territories would be unrealistic, but in the case of the Seal of Shilen instance I see no reason why it could not have been left with the old bug that opened it independently from the "Destroy Shilen's Creatures" campaign. The developers actively spent man-hours to fix that bug; it was a deliberate act. So we must assume that this is indeed a case of educational terrorism, cultural warfare with the intention to hammer home to the overseas players their inferiority. "See, you are not even capable to cooperate for 40 minutes. You don't deserve R95 weapons!"
An obvious workaround would be GM events. Either Juji Pking anybody who kills players at the Forbidden Gateway during campaign times, or, what they do in Korea, use the old Catacombs (they still exist under the lid) and spawn the Boss sisters down there, teleporting in players in parties after they have nicely lined up: http://www.inven.co.kr/board/powerbbs.php?come_idx=390&l=856
As to what what Korean players need to do to keep their ''glory'' ingame, you can follow the unfolding drama on Teon here: http://www.inven.co.kr/board/powerbbs.php?come_idx=390
(copy/paste 테온 (Teon) into the search field at the bottom of the index)
Clans betraying their erstwhile allies, those flying in additional troops from their home server via paid server transfer ...
Most players in those top PvP clans are 99, they don't need to buy exp runes (http://nshop.plaync.com/lineage2/goods/detail?goodsNo=4154&categoryPath=1&sort=1&sortOrder=DESC) any more, but they are regularly raiding Antharas and Valakas to equip even their support characters with Boss Jewelry, they turn up for the sieges in full force, which are all activities in non-peace-zones, i.e. they must pay for the game time. But you are right, when you take into account the average income and cost of living, Koreans get significantly more value for their money than people over here.
Hm, ok u covinced me! Lineage is all about cooperation, collaboration, not being lazy and all that stuff!
So if ALL those ppl who got their stuff through SoS before, took them because of BUG, let's all send tickets to delete all SAs from 95 weapons! Let's cooperate and collaborate to make the game as it was intended to be. Let's not be lazy! Let us put our words to the test and make it happen!
I will wait for u at the SoS at quest hours! Let's all shout in one voice: WE ARE ALL KOREANS!
I will wait for u at the SoS at quest hours! Let's all shout in one voice: WE ARE ALL KOREANS!
Koeran servers are superior to ours so why would they waste their time playing here? :D
In Western L2 is all about getting to the top as fast as you can using any method you can get away with.
Wow, after week we got another chance to open altar and guess what, it failed. Don't you think that 12k mobs is too much for server with 4k dualboxes on?
-Seraph leather armor from 300-400kk changed to 1,2-1,7kkk
-No more R95 crystals in whole server. A.H Empty.
-No more Weapons R95 to sell, the ones in a.h are from before glory days yet (and prices up 2-3x more).
In Bartz, there is no enough people to finish this campaign, so, after glory days what happened is that seal of shillen was "removed" from Game and I'm sorry, this is frustrading and terrible for the economy. We have to face that have so many bot users and farming adena like's hell everyday what already make the prices higher, with this is just lol for a normal player that buy ncoins or just play without it.
Lineage 2 is the best mmorpg and one of my favorite games ever, but none can be online 24h/7days farming and even if could this instance missing is killing the economy and the fun as well.
When the automated characters are removed from the three new servers, they can be merged into one. Then it should be easier to complete the Campaign. But even on high population servers like Naia or Chronos there are nor enough players doing the Campaign. As I have mentioned above, the obvious solution is to make this a GM event. NCWest could for example run a protection racket. Take a very visible accessory that's in the game files but has not yet been in the shop (the Bee Hat (http://nshop.plaync.com/lineage2/goods/detail?goodsNo=3858&categoryPath=1_3&sort=1&sortOrder=DESC) comes to mind), sell that for 20 dollars or whatever, then Juji logs in when the Campaign is activated and PKs anybody who kills a Bee Hat wearer, brezing the dead bee. Getting 50 people together shouldn't be too difficult. Draecke and his Antharas raiders could singlehandedly complete the Campaign, and I guess that atarth and the DragonHunters have similar resources at their disposal. You just have to prevent them from molesting each other.
That being said, the Campaigns are basically not a very well thought-out game feature. Completing them successfully depends on too many factors which are beyond the developers' control. A good solution would for example be to remove the time limit and simply say that when a certain target number of monster death points has been reached, no matter whether within half an hour or within a week, the instance opens for a day or two. Opening up Hellbound wasn't easy either, but when people crashed in the Baylor instance they could just come back on the next day and try again. Eventually every server got there.
People who were around back then will remember that even though Dynasty equipment was theoretically available since the Kamael update, the first Dynasty armors only appeared on Teon in the Gracia updates. Vincen, you don't really need R95 equipment. Moirai is a very good armor and socketka uses an overenchanted S80 weapon at lvl 98, doing very well with it :)
Sorry Elmar, but I distinctly remember 30kisses on Lionna getting some stuff (Dynasty armor & shield) when it merged with Kain the 8th July 2008. A bit before Gracia iirc :D
When the automated characters are removed from the three new servers, they can be merged into one. Then it should be easier to complete the Campaign. The sollution is reduce the number of mobs that quest ask for and done. 42k is insane and no sense to our current server populations.

Not the activity was the main problem on these servers. But they had lower activity as some of the really big servers like the Bartz or Teon.
One of the main reason might be was the server power balance to the cross server sieges.
Like a powerful and high populated Server easily can win over a weaker one.
I did almost write, that maybe was some financial reason in the background too, now they can use these servers to the Cross Server Events.
I think the activity of the Lineage 2 Korea is much better nowadays with Chapter 3 as before.
The Lineage 2 just with two places behind the fresh released Blade & Soul. The Lineage 2 also was on better position on the last statistic as the AION.
While many of big and waited features are only on PTS.
But back to the region of the NCwest.
Was sometimes when I did hunt alone in Seal of Shilen wasn't another player there and I made about 3-5% of this Destroy Shilen's Creatures Campaign under a hour.
So normally 3 parties would be enough to make the campaign under 1 hour easily if they are 95+ or mostly 97+.
I think we can find 3 parties on any server for it. Just need some organization from the players also would be useless if the NCwest would make shouts, that everyone who join to the campaign get from now fix, reward and this is the only way, that we can open Altar of Shilen.
if it made enough adena to do so am sure the top clans would have np doing that and shouting in hero that they're there for any wartag to come and donate some crp as well..
right now it's just not interesting enough for said top clans to do so but still if you want to do it with sub top clans go for it, find a hero willing to promote it for you and give it a try.
me personally skipped R95 completely as an oe'd apo weapon works equally fine and is actually cheaper to put a 2nd sa on but to each it's own ;)
NCEast is simply preparing for the upcoming cross server system, they have not has that big of a population drop even if L2 in Korea is not as popular as it used to be.
That means either until one of the recently quite frequent server crashes or at the most until the next maintenance :)
Update:
There seems to be a bug in the export version. Taiwanese players completed the Campaign and opened Shilen's Altar yesterday at shortly after 2pm Taibei time. But after about 12 hours, at around 2:30 am, it closed again: http://tw.myblog.yahoo.com/l2_friend/article?mid=31011&sc=1#31049
People should also start to realize the top top clans do NOT want this to open. They already have the weapons and crystals they need and would not want to give up the advantage they have on the lower and smaller clans that do not have the weapons. Do you really think they want people (outside their clan) to have Specter weapons with SA's? They are not into fighting fair they just want to win at whatever cost. This is also why many of them have bots running on the side so they have more adena compared to those that play legit. NC is not doing anything about the bots that can be seen at least.

Ah not really, most of us could care less if you get an SA for your +3/+4 specter. But people in top clans that are already 99 (which is pretty much everyone) are only doing a handful of things: PvP, major raids, xping dual class, Oly. Campaigns do not fit into that list.
Shilen's Altar being accessible even without the Campaign having been successfully completed was a bug.
Here is your answer. We got a ninja patch to fix it, and now it's working as intended :D
People believes what they want, so anyone can tell it's bugged when they would like it to be bugged :)
Hello, one of the bigger PvE clans in chronos server is going to try unlock the altar instance on wednesdays ( once the server not perma crashing after server comes up) and ofc anyone is welcome to help . Im I right that the campaign suppose to start 6pm gmt?
Do only the shielen undead/messenger count for this or also the lunatic creatures etc.?
About the required mobs needed: a duo team can easily aoe 1 spot down,so in my experience a duo kills about 100 mobs per 15 minutes . If campaign last only 1 hour and there r 6 fields of shielen mobs (the small upper spot near cemetry i count to the bigger spot, since it can be aoed same time on street) it makes approx. 2400 that can be killed if the spots r kept clean . That would be like +- 1400 undead/1000 messengers as we know messenger always take longer in daily q.
If also the other fields count for campaign ,there is like 5 more spot to clean, that cant be much more than the 2400 mob that can be killed in an hour. ITs easy maths and the 42k mobs required, as former posts saying, ,cant be true because there are simply not enough mobs (difference is factor 30! for undead shielen ,42k/1,4k ).
I more likely believe that the player is right who actually ve tried this with 3 grps and apparently got it half done. In this case make 6 duo teams, be rdy 5mins before start and keep spots down for 1 hour- sounds easy to me.
I doubt that this campaign requires 100pl where everyone must guard "his" m^2 ,to kill the respawn in less than a sec for max out respawn times- would be too crazy..
Anyway i let you know how it worked out.

During the campaing the amount of mobs spawning is increased. So .. was your attempt successful?

I think its more like they can't script campaigns.

Actually, they could script most of it, but what would be the point? Top clans gather in force only for oly/siege/dragons. Aside from that it's mainly a handful of ppl xping a dual class or looking for wartags in small groups. I'd venture to say that most mid-level pve clans are more active than the top pvp clans during the week.
