The players who already bought a Stone of Destiny, if they are only able to reach lvl 85 after the lindvior patch comes to our servers, will they be able to use the stone in order to awaken as one of the ~34 diversified classes, or will ncsoft simply refund them the money they spent to get the ncoin for it?

Why do you asking about things like that? Those 3x classes will be here in about a year, and you already have issues regarding that? Even Koreans are now like "wth man?".
Now srsly... NCWest for sure don't know a **** about Chapter 3 at this moment.

It is too early to say how the Stone of Destiny will apply to the changes coming in major future game updates, but no refunds are planned. That is part of why the item will cease to be available for purchase in the next couple of days.

An estimate is an estimate, and this is not an official estimate, so best not spread speculation. We will announce a time frame once the schedule is more reliable. In the meantime, know that the Lindvior update is indeed a long ways off-- too far to estimate or talk about quite yet.
AFAIK all SoD will be deleted with the Livindor update.
Sace maybe you might forward this, since selling SoD's (cos some could stock em) that will be removed, could been seen as fraud.
Hey Sace/Juji, dejavu with something called Elemental Shirts and known bugs?
You ignored it even after players pointed out that it's bugged while providing links to NCK/NCT etc. (While YOU Sace still kept pushing the sale of this BUGGED Shirt)

캐릭터, point 3.:
As someone already mentioned, that is a patch note for the Korean servers; not for ours. Other territories might choose a different path for what to do with the Stone of Destiny. Please do not spread the rumor that the Stone of Destiny will be deleted as that is not a fact for our servers at this time. We will be able to say more about this as decisions are made in the future. Rest assured that before the update arrives on our servers any announcements regarding important items such as this will be made so that players are well-prepared for any related changes.
Well I totally agree that we don't have the same game sadly (they have far less bugs, no gameguard issues & so on) but the main core of Lindvior update is the diversification of the Awakening Classes into archetypes similar to the old previous classes.
So I don't think you can deny the fact that the Lindvior update is about the class diversification process, whatever the changes are between the two versions (Korean / American one).
The Stone of Destiny is directly linked to the Awakening process, and therefore to the class diversification process.
In the case of NCWest getting the Lindvior update, I should miss something there by reading that such changes could be removed from the NCWest version of the game.

This is all true but please wait and see what happens and do not consider it set in stone until it is officially announced by NCSOFT West. The point of my warning about rumors is simply to manage expectations within the official realm and prevent players from acting on rumors instead of announcements relevant to their server.
While we are not sure yet about what will be the exact content of the next updates of Lineage II for NCSOFT West servers, I would like to remind everyone that any "items, services or to access other specific forms of Content offered by NCSOFT in exchange for NCoin may be discontinued, modified or removed from the Account by NCSOFT at any time in its sole and absolute discretion." as specified in the Lineage II User Agreement (http://us.ncsoft.com/en/legal/user-agreements/lineage-2-user-agreement.html)
However, be sure that such changes will be announced several weeks ahead of the changes, and we are now today sure about the fact that it will be the last time the Stone of Destiny will be available in the L2 Store or L2 Galleria. Be sure to buy it before it's too late !
PPL need to relax here...i can say this from a Business point of view. The stone of Destiny Will return in the future as NC makes money off the selling of these Items and if it sells and make em money why would they cut off their nose to spite their face. Yes its true it will disappear FOR A WHILE but it will return or a suitable replacement, you can count on that. All comapnies gets rid of the things that dont sell and keep the things that do sell, NC is no different. Now unless they totally revamp the "Awakening" process...it has to come back as it is a "REQUIRED" item for "Awakening", so forget all the things ya read on other forums from other countries, as this DOES NOT apply to NCWest. Look at it from a business point of view and it only mkaes sense, You dont think "Apple" is gonna get rid of Ipad or Iphones, do ya?...ok relax...it'll be back or a suitable replacement. Think logically with common sense...would you get rid of it if it were to make you money? i think not. :)
The SoD is NOT required for Awakening. It's required only for unorthodox Awakenings...
But the point of the diversification system is to KEEP your 3rd class main features, adding the 4th class capabilities... That's why in Korea they removed the SoD and are manually changing the class for every pre-Awakened toon who wants to go back to the 3rd class they abandoned with the unorthodox Awakening.
By the way, Sace stated it's the last time they put SoD in the store (and there's a reason for this, see the above explanation)... Why do you insist that it'll return? The comparison with Apple and iPad can't stand, because Apple doesn't sell iPads only at alternate time frames...

....
Hmm.....that explanation is kinda messed up. You make it sound like they're forcing "unorthodox-awakened" characters to diversify only into what they were before the SoD, instead of letting them diversify into the available routes for their current unorthodox-awakened class. (ie: kamael wynn, orc wynn..) etc.
Are you trying to say that they will not allow things such as a Kamael elemental wynn, or a orc Sigel eva's templar etc? -> If so, i would have to say this would be absolutely illegal of them to do on our servers considering ppl pay for SoD.
The standard, as it was envisioned by the developers, is that a Kamael who used the Stone of Destiny before the Lindvior update to become a Wynn Summoner can talk to Hardin and choose between Kamael Wynn Arcana Lord, Kamael Wynn Spectral Master and Kamael Wynn Elemental Master on update day: http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%EC%84%9C%ED%92%8D%EC%9D%98+%EA%B8%B0%EC%9A%B4+%ED %81%B4%EB%9E%98%EC%8A%A4
In Korea it has turned out, however, that many players who used the Stone of Destiny wanted to return to the 3rd class they abandoned with the unorthodox Awakening. Since the Lindvior system only accommodates class changes within your archetype group, such a return to the class you have played since C1 would theoretically not be possible. But as a special service, the Korean GMs are at present manually resetting the classes for those players who want that. In the article I linked above, they apologize that this takes so long - there are far more players who want to return to their old class than they originally anticipated.
And to avoid any misunderstandings - after the Lindvior update you will not be able to use the Stone of Destiny any more, for the same reason why you can not use a 5 1⁄4-inch floppy disk with an iPad. The system is different. Sace gave you a false answer.
After all, a lot of players decisions and purchases were based on the fact that they simplified the game greatly and removed everyone's uniqueness, at least they recognize these people's rights to now freely go back to lost classes. Thats cool.
I can't fathom how you could get I was suggesting that Korean players were forced to go back... But again, English isn't my main language, and probably some more commas would have clarified more...
Glad that at least you could get a better understanding of the matter through Yidao's post.
