Server timezone confusion?

Ok so on the Lineage 2 website it says all physical server location is Dallas Texas. But they are GMT -2 GMT +2 GMT +0 GMT -5.....

I want to be playing on an American server.. closest to Central time. I'm having a hard time understanding how this is set up.

For example... according to the server list... Bartz would be the ONLY american server running GMT -5 which is eastern time.

Shilen, on the other hand, would be a foreign server considering it's GMT +0 on the server list.

Explain all this to me please.

Just ignore the fact all the servers are in Dallas.

Most players try play on servers where the Sieges, CoC & Olympiad, land more in there time zone.


- Shilen seems kinda split, SA/NA & EU. (Not sure why so many VN on it = Sieges 3-4 Am. for them lol. I am GMT -4 East Canada, and they are at 5 Pm. for me in the summer, and 4 Pm. in the Winter, so still not to bad. It kinda attracts players from EU & SA/NA to play here, so more fun.) Like someone posted, Shilen is perfect if you on a boat in the Atlantic Ocean though. The penguins even managed to avoid GMT 0,.... why they moved it to 0 I still am baffled. Maybe because so many EU & SA/NA voted, they just put it in the middle, or because no server ran this time zone yet. It was GMT -5 to start. They say cause of votes, that's crap. The whole server is NA/SA/BR/EU,..... who votes for 0 lol? So unless it must have been because of a split vote. (Great PvP server.)

- Chronos mostly NA/SA & EU I am told. (Not sure I am on Shilen. It was GMT -5 to start, and we got screwed by NCSoft.) (Told by some PvP here good, some say sux.)

- Naia I am pretty sure is majority EU, and should be as it runs perfect on there time zone. (Told by many the PvP here is EPIC.)

- Magmeld & Bartz were opened to take stress of Shilen when GoD came out, and I have been told they are kinda dying, alot of NA jumped to Bartz when it opened, I assume it's mostly SA/NA. I have heard people from these server want to change server, or push for server merges, so they must be bored. I figured after the GoD zerg cooled off that would happen anyway. (Told the PvP is non existent compared to the other 3 servers.)


Please note I have NOT played on any of the other servers,... going by here say, fellow clannies information, and forum topics info. So the information could be slightly wrong. Except Shilen. *** :)

EDIT: (It would depend also I guess whether your a day time, or night time player, or 24/7 like me,.... would also affect your choice of server also whether you plan to be a farmer, and make you Char. look pretty, or you wanna PvP alot, or both like me lol.)
