iam about to start a toon which should awaken as a feoh wizard.
Now i was wondering, which char would be the easiest one to level if i go soloing all the time (ofc with mentor buffs). I dont want to dualbox any recharger, though.
I was thinking of Soul Breaker since somehow i got the impression, that melee chars level up quite easier than nuker classes do, even though they dont level that fast.
On the other hand i thought about creating a necromancer, since they can have their pet for tanking/doing decent melee damage while nuking/debuffing from the back.
I really dont know. I always got the feeling that it is more reliable to kill only a few mobs which give alot exp (like ToI) than killing tons of low-hp-mobs with low exp.
So i thought for things like ToI leveling a Soul Breaker/Necro would be more useful, since he isnt that mana dependant as a SpH/SpS for example.
One major update ago Orc Mystics were super easy to level because their hp drain restored both hp and mp while also having the same magic power as the other mages nuke spells.
I find that dark elves are always easy to level since they hit the hardest, have all the important spells necroes have along with an overhit spell that gives you extra XP, normal nukes if you are feeling cheap and don't want to buy bones, and a better aoe than a necro.
In terms of most fun however I liked Soulhound the best because it was a hybrid class that allowed you to mix things up a lot. If you got tired of nuking you could switch to melee and conversely if you got tired of meleeing you could switch to nuking. They are also able to use crossbows to some extent in order to take advantage of those mobs that are weak to cross bows, however I never made use of this.
The lv 80 (?) ones with the Symbols from Ivory Tower, Salvation of the Cardinal, dunno about other skills... The Wynn's one for summoning Beast Soul/Spiritshots in exchange for R crystals, too?

Once you get to 8x the Necro is superior to the other nukers due to the servitor - it can level as a melee DD, while other nukers can't. It's always been that way, since people were leveling in IT at S Grade, and later Hellbound, etc.
Now that the summon lasts basically forever and takes no XP, things are even better.
Just make sure to Give the Necro Mage Harmony first and then give the Summon Warrior Harmony.
Major heals require spirit ore. MP Regeneration on Spellsingers requires spirit ore. All of the the level 77+ buff skills require obscene amounts of spirit ore. The player summoning spells require summoning crystals. The summoner summoning skils have a component cost. There are more but I think this list is sufficient.
And once I get to level 80 I just use my awakened toons to level in swamps however mages with aoes can do really well on dino island between 80-85 aoeing the pack mobs.
That's all cute and good, but not everyone has an Awakened toon to PL themselves with. When I came back from break after GoD release, I certainly didn't. I had to do it the hard way, soloing and grouping with people my own level. When you have to do it that way, all other mages are disadvantaged because you cannot level faster in PI than you can on a Soultaker debuffing and using a buffed Cursed Man in a decent GC or inner DV. It won't happen, unless your server has so many bots that you can't find any MOBs to kill.
Nevermind Corpse Burst is Dark Attribute and Full Power so a Necro can AoE there as well.
Personally, I think asking what the fastest class to level up is stupid unless you're just leveling up buff-pets (Aeore, Iss) or toosn you're gonna use to PLevel with (Feoh, Wynn, maybe a Tyrr).
For a main toon you should choose your class from the start based on where you want to be when you awaken. Dark Elves are better Feohs than Human, simply due to stat distribution, so I'd recommend that for a serious player and Human for someone who just wants an alt or PLer toon to play around with in their spare time (or a Dual sub since you don't have a choice there if you're a Human race toon).

Your Suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Speaking strictly solo...
So far I've Awakened a Spellhowler (to Wynn Summoner), a Tyrant (to Sigel Knight), a Hawkeye (to Yul Archer), and a Warcryer (to ISS Enchanter). The fastest was the Spellhowler. The easiest was the Warcryer. The most fun was the Tyrant. I am working on leveling a Spectral Dancer and a Doombringer next, but neither of these two fighter type classes feels like an effortless grind.
