There is no feature for changing the name of a clan. Only way is to dissolve the clan and make it again.
I was able to change my clan's name earlier this year, but I have not messed with the clan since the server merges.
I doubt it, that feature has never been available; plus the server merges happened more than two years ago so I have no clue what you are talking about.

I'm guessing 1 of 3 possible explanations:
1) He lives on MARS, the years are ~2X as long as our Years...
2) If he is Clan Leader and kicks whole clan, can he Transfer servers without dissolving Clan?(new server already had a clan with same name)
3) He's Talking about Bartz famous Clan: NameChange12412(or some other Clan reported with inappropriate name, which GMs change to NameChange#####.
and they have to contact support to change it to something NOT offensive)
[i dunno, maybe he Transfered off one server and already had toons on the new server, so his account had it's own merger???]

My clan was renamed to blahblah14.. I went to the high priest and checked the clan options... low and behold it had the option to change clan name (in yellow letters), so I changed the clan name to the original name without the "14". That options disappeared after awhile and the clan name was changed a week or two later. Where do you get off calling me names because you are misinformed? I took a 2 year break from game and came back and most of my characters had different names as did my clans. I also changed the name of a lvl 4 clan to something totally different. If his clan qualified for this then it will work otherwise he cannot change the clan name.
By the way you cannot transfer clans to a different server.

That is not the same as what the OP was asking, so changing a clan name is not available. It would be the same with character names after the merge that were duplicates; you do it once and that's all.

your original syntax using present tense verb made it confusing as it sounds sequential, i.e. that the server merges happened since "earlier this year".

Your situation was actually somewhere between #1 and #2...
1)it was meant as a joke to explain how "earlier this year" for you was more than 2 years for the rest of us.
2)what is a server merge if it is not 1 or more servers transferring to a new or existing server.
3)this was based partly on my own experience, I logged in one day earlier this year to find one of my characters renamed NameChange###, and I did not know why. I was searching through Forums to try and find out... I found Threads about the server merges and the one with the information about the clan with GM Forced name change(I later found e-mail from L2 support in my Spam folder which allowed me to change my characters name[my 3rd choice as my first two choices were in use or too similar to someone else])

I don't see how you think I called you any names, unless you think "He lives on MARS" means I'm calling you a Martian[Humans one day living on MARS I think is more possible than the existence of Martians]
