Why is it that when i wasn't a aero healer i could out heal anything and people where saying that i was healing better than some 90+ healers but as soon as i hit 85 aero healer i kinda suck at it, trying to find skills and such lol i don't know what i'm doing wrong?
Mobs AI: Some mobs will target the healer if its in their range.
Balance heal doesnt draw agro compared to progressive or other heals.
Use Fairy of Life on the Tank or any target that keeps getting damage. - The more damage someone gets the more he gets healed.
Use Sustain if situation is tough for extra % in heals.
Use progressive heal next to the target you want to heal not on the target itself.
Ask from ISS to heal...They got that skill for a reason...
Try to use progressive heal and balance heal, fairy and sustain on tank at all times. Use panic heal if progressive and balance is on reuse. You also have self celestial protection and party celestial protection. I think Aeore Healer is much more powerful than any 3rd class healer.

A wiser healer should never use it often in pve situations. if you feel obliged to, then I advice to re-think what your partners are doing and if its worth to keep playing along with them.
for the OP, wtf are u asking? No way any 3rd class healer can beat an aeore in its full potential: now you can heal even cp!! Ofc, dont expect be a god in all manners, as paper players will continue die like flies even more now, in the new hunt grounds (as paper, I'm refering to those players with 0 element on armor and bragging to the world "I'm dd, FU!" as if this was enough). If you face any of these, just let them die often and often, till the pain teachs them something worth.
but if even after this you still find in trouble, then just a re-roll, 'cause maybe you'r playing the wrong character. #cheers

/facepalm
The previous posters had already offered some insight. I felt like sharing my disappointment in a fellow Aeore Healer who doesn't know the name of his own class and apparently doesn't know how to play it.

Misstype, dyslexia or w/e

ahh yea i was just trying to help the OP since balance and progressive heal are not enough for him, i rarely use it myself in pve.

If you play Aeore Healer almost in randoms parties (>> me <<), then sometimes you just realise you'r not enough for that party in particular, 'cause nothing you can do or even for more skilled you are, you wont be able to bring the "win feeling" over it and you'll end feel yourself dunked in a wallet of n00bs. In this situation, just face the truth, accept the reality and leave. Its not like you'd have to wait for another invitation, anyway.
there is a learning curve.
also, you lose your casting speed when you switch.
if you were previously playing an Elven Elder, you'll have to practice a bit, but you will get it, and you will excel if you were doing well before.
give it time.
also make sure people are buffed properly... in case your Iss is also having trouble... if tank dies a lot tell them to remove daring Sonata.. and to put the Lion back in his pants.

is not only that, if u playlong long time with pre awakned (likeme for years)
u will made mistakes
example the cooldown/the range of skills is not the same.
when i thought i was ressed someone i noticed i was not, same for heals.
u just need practice
and ofcse **** those morons who go in instance w/o atribute, no clan skills, etc
usually when them QQ I PUSH THEM TO THE RAID and give them 0% xp :D
(i told them before more QQ and be ready for consecuences, some pplneed to learn this game have kings and queens those are healers, iss, tanks, rest is crap u can found crap everywhere)
and remember that u have the control of the grp.
if someone is getting too much dmg i told him/her to step away several times on bosses, i prefer the party bonus (exp and force) and a exp leeching guy than a waste of mp bc that cheap bastard didn't element his armor.
lv3 sustain gives u +200 power on heals is huge, use it if you need it.
tree has aprox 200 range, and his first wave is at 3 seconds then every 5.
a well placed tree is a huge advantage, and also sometimes u only need to place a tree to heal nothing more. (in my case in kartia grp in the first part i only use the tree to heal and my only focus is on recharge, unless u have some weak bastard but at my lvl range that is almost impossible to find)
progessive will change in the next upgrade but right now is like someone told, target the next guy with the most hp. progressive is based on % of hp. so targetting tyrs is a good idea if he is not the one with low hp.
use fairy on wynn's if they are using cougars specially. with the current cd of the skill u can use fairy on 3 party members all the time at least.
if u are in a random grp and you see that they are too weak and they didn't listen to you and your warnings, use pr and leave them don't waste time, healers are needed elsewhere always and you might find a better grp.
Healers should have "leader skills"... Most of the pts i join im the one who say to the tank to sum the cubic, to put knight on lowbies, ect. The fact is moxt of l2 players think that they know everyrhing... And they dont listen, so same recomendation as someone did, pr and find a new group.

This is true, I find myself doing this most of the time as well. Like Anhur I try to get the lowbies who seem to not be able to take hits (especially Dynasty Daggers) to hug my tree and stay near me. I give them the job of rezzing me when my Salvation is down (I have brezzes on hand) so they're not completely being useless.
Unlike Smittie, I don't ragequit and try to find a different group unless the group really treats me harshly. Most of the time I stick with it and try to teach to the best of my ability. As a result most of my friends on my buddy list are tanks due to my coolheaded nature and affable service as a healer :D.
It's all a matter of how you approach the game. My suggestion is that if you want to learn how to heal first read the descriptions of the skills then practice in small groups with friends in easy places (like swamplands and such).
1. If you are struggling healing then first off just focus on heals, DDing and debuffing are secondary, debuffing can be very important but is always secondary to keeping the party alive, once you have healing down then move on to debuffing then dding, if you choose to.
2. remember you have 4 heal over time skills, get used to them and comfortable, sometimes using anyone or all of these on a tank etc can help.
3. Use wizard buff, knights and robeas etc can work, but requires more a more effecient player behind the healer due to lack of heal power.
4. You can always target yourself on progressive heals, an instant 40% to all party in range and keeps you targeted incase you need to spam heal on yourself, this is very good in situations were the party is close and the damage is spread out not necessarily all on tank.
5. Party celest and regular celest, use accordingly, do not use party celest for one personl, try to use ind cel, it resets faster but lingers for 60 secs too, party celest is your most defensive skill and the worst thing is to have it down for the party when its needed.
6. Make a macro for self celest maybe a few orthers, in pve not many are required but self celest helps, in pvp you can justify making many more.
7. Keep a heavy set/hp weapon if you can afford it, I keep an matk setup and a pdef/hp set up, the pdef setup gtes used much more. Being rdy for situational play can help.
8. most your heals should be progressive and balance life, if you have to spam the tank then try to get sustain off first, I usually try to keep it on as much as possible when xping in areas where hp can go fast.
9. MP only becomes an issue when you are having to spam frantic heal for the most part, an mp weapon can help, also use your aux tools, sleep a mob rather than spam heal the person taking the damage (esp range) heal over times on people that may pull for aoe, celest on tank rather than spam heal.
10. 2 types of healers this server needs, the first is the good strong healer that can do it all, everyone wants him/her. If you are not a very strong player but enjoy healer then be the reliable type, the one that ends up in a solid constant party that compensates for anything the healer may lack.

I'm wondering what should be the "dd'ing" thing for a healer in a party setup, kiling in a party designed area or in instance. and dont come here to say me that doing 100-150 dmg will hurt something, cuz its just meh. while doing k85/teredor, I laugh hard when I see healers letting ppl with low hp just to throw their ubber damage skills :p
I never use my aoe damage skills in a party. DD is not my job. My job is to keep my party alive so THEY can dps. MY priority is heals, debuffs, recharge....in that order. In pvp I am still learning to use my defensive skills so I am kind of a soft target atm but I am learning. But I have seen many healers let party members die trying to dd and tbh I even had it happen. That is why I don't do it in party. I would rather heal well than heal crappy and dd crappy at the same time. Just sayin.....
Take notes of everything written here HumanSide, there are a lot of very useful tips.
I would recommend you to join a guild owner of either a fortress or a castle, get some KE and buy Maximum clarity and Life Force talismans, (the ones who gives a faster MP regeneration are not are so important but well, better use them too than nothing) with those plus rebirth, salvation, a Wynn Summoner in your group for mana share and a big MP pool made of the use of a specific weapon (Mana up) and clan skills like the Divine Squad lv 2 one forget mana problems. Spam all the panic/brilliant you want.
One thing further I would like to add. Most of you probably know this but this is for less experienced healers. I always stay in range of my tank. The party dd's, particularly the ranged ones, need to be aware of where I am so they can receive heals and cleansing. You cannot go chasing after an archer or wizard trying to heal them when they get out of your range. Most experienced ranged dds will stay in the general vicinity of the healer for this purpose. But your priority needs to be the tank, not chasing after an out of range dd trying to panic heal. That is the only instance in pve where I have seen panic heal used when the ranged dd comes back in range almost dead. Even then, balance heal is the far better option. You have to keep your tank healthy for the party to remain healthy. And the party needs to remain in range of each other to function optimally at any case. To sum up, don't chase a ranged dd trying to panic heal, if he knows what he is doing he will come to you before he is in real trouble. Just my two cents....
Your Progressive Heal should have the range to cover all your dd's. Just use it on the tank since he takes the least amount of damage from a burst skill, while other classes take heavy damage from burst skills. When the tank takes a lot of sustained damage use Balance Heal then quickly follow up with Brilliant Heal. This is the simplest way to keep your party healed.
Additionally throw fairies on Tanks then Summoners. Why Summoners? Because Summoners' summons both become buffed with fairy, giving your party a triple boost and ease in heal.
If you can try to micro Sustain on melee classes (Tank, Warrior, Rogue). This will give you that huge boost in healing power as well as benefit the classes who would take sustained damage.
Finally Tree of Life can be used for yourself. I don't like using it for melee support because it seems to always get one shotted, making the risk of running up and summoning it or making the effort of pushing the tree into place wasted. Tell your ranged DD's to stay near your tree for heals when you're busy keeping your party alive.
HeirToRune, have you tested if Sustain helps heal more than 30-40% on the targets nearby from Progressive?
If you havent, you might want to. Progresssive seems unaffected by sustain, and microing Sustain on melee DDs seem pointless if you arent gonna be spamming group heal, which would actually have its heal power increased by the buff.
Also, why is it all healers that use trees think it has 0 range? It does not need to put in the tanks face, or near any of the aoe'ing mobs.
well some ppl just never learn
o its lazy healers o any class
i have a good friend who exp his healer to 95 cos he watch me on pvps...
but usually i dont like pvp with him becuase he ***s my skills using party celestial fo 1 single target and when i really need i cant use -.-" ....
If I've learned 1 thing from playing several classes of healer over the years it's that it always better to stay back until you know what kind of group you got yourself into..unless somehow the update made random l2 players smarter I doubt that's changed.
The second post in the thread pretty much answers your first question.
Heavy set is kinda useless at 85. You're not supposed to take damage unless you're soloing (and if you're soloing, robe increases your m.atk, heavy decreases it), and at 85 pvping is just a mirage.
