XP Runes price difference

Seriously, can someone explain to me while a rune for above lvl 86 is more than $25.00 vs a rune below 86 which is less than $10.00?

That's over 150% mark up...

800NC Coin 100% 7 day XP - Under 86
2240NC Coin 100% 7 day XP - Over 86

... that's outrageous

Might want to rethink your prices, I for one refuse to pay for runes over 86 at that price, even the 1 - 3 hour ones are over priced.

Don't you know the economy is bad?

QQ about the future? You don't even have a clue what level I am, therefore I wouldn't state anything, I like to level alts.

I am level 96 so no i am not complaining about the future, I am complaining about the now, I am complaining about the huge price difference between sub 85 and 86+

You cannot be serious.

It doesnt even take 7 days to do 1-86. So you arent even getting full use of it. Maybe that is why it is alot cheaper?

You will however for sure spend more than 7 days lvling past 86.

Unless your signed in for 7 days and exping 24/hrs you don't get to use the full 7 days regardless of level.

If anything if the xp runes were cheaper they would be bought more often as once your past 86 that is where the majority of your leveling with be.

What do you mean?
1-86 is very easu even in 3 days, not even 24/7 playing.

That's my point. You can't utilize the runes regardless. 1 the use time while logged out. 2. Use time while server is down.

After 90 these runes are useful but cost way too much.

Oh sorry, i totally misread your post, disregard my post.

I dont understand why you complain though, imagine how long a 7 day rune would last if you only did dailies with it.
Imagine this, you purchase the 7 day rune, and you spend a total of 4 hours ingame per day, then this rune would last you 42 days, you really think thats OK?

25$ for 7 days is not that bad, consider the extra XP you get, but meh.

are you kidding me? so you think below 10.00 is ok for below 86 but a 150% markup on 86+ is ok? it should be one price across the board regardless of level.

Uhm afaik the 7 day runes are for 7 days. Even if you are logged out the clock is ticking :p

Acutally it shouldn't, if you would pay the same amount of ncoin for runes below 86 and above 86 then everyone could get 99 in a month! and that really isn't the idea what ncsoft is after and it would ruin the gameplay as well.

I can understand that its fustrating that its more then when below lvl 86 but that is the way for NCsooft to say, alright you had your easy time and now the game is really beginning and you now need to WORK for your exp.

So you believe a 150% mark up is ok? You don't feel taken advantage of? Isn't NCsoft in the business to make money. If you want more people to buy you lower/place things on sale.
This is yet another example of if you have to ask why they cost so much you can't afford them. The 7-day Runes are cheaper than buying 7 days of 1-Hour runes 168 runes. The cost savings more than makes up for the times you are off line.

7 Day 200% Rune 4800 NCcoin

1 Hour 200% Rune 400 NCcoin

A 7 day Rune is like buying 12 of the 1 hour Runes and getting 168 hours

I know it is, but that is how "Original Erica" wants it to be. (atleast how i understood her post)

Yes i do, 1>86 is a joke, its a "walk in the park", which is why it is so much cheaper.
86-99 on the other hand, is very "hard" to achieve, which is why its more expensive.

This comment makes you look like a complete ***. I make a six figure salary. Just because someone complains about the price of something does not make it so that they can't afford to buy them.

If anything I could afford to throw money away however unlike you who must be a multi-billionaire and don't notice any dollar figure leaving your account, I like to figure where all my money is going.

I was not comparing to the 1 hours I am just saying that based on the fact that a 150% mark up is a bit much, a 50% markup would be more reasonable.

We are talking about intellectual property. They would actually make more money by selling more of the item for a lesser domination because more people could afford, or even find it reasonable to buy it for the amount of time they actually use the item.

This thread can be closed, the trolls are starting to invade.

One could argue I am less likely to purchase a rune below 86 because some runes are provided at level 80 and 85 or because it's so easy to level from 1 - 85.
why do you contradict every single reply that everyone gives, i mean you ask for a explanation in your OP and that you think its outrageous that its set so high, then when everyone comes with calculations, explanations and replies you just keep on going on about how highly priced it is and that everyone is wrong except you.

i mean what are you looking for in this thread? That ppl agree with you? that people will stand beside you so you can make a petition towards NCsoft about the item?

If you are going to do a thread and ask for explanation or if you are wondering why it is like that, then don't contradict every single reply someone gives....
FYI i used 3x the 200% rune in a row.
As said already, if you can't afford it, don't buy it.

If NCWest would earn in the end more $$ if the Runes would be cheaper... well... we don't know.
Noone is forcing anyone to buy Runes are they?

It is hard for me to believe you make a six figure salary and still can't see this is a mark down... you are buying 12 hours and getting 168 hours. This basic math equation is the the Achilles heel to your argument and a concept that keeps many working for others. As far as your attempt at flaming... claiming the trolls have invaded this debate and not looking at the facts is just weak.

Multi-billionaires can spot a deal, six figure salaried employees complain everything is unfair.
Noone is forcing anyone to buy Runes are they?
Who said they were?

No one, so asking that is useless.

Price is too high. No one is forcing anyone to buy it. They will simply sell less, but since they're so ridiculously expensive the higher price may simply balance out the lower volume.

NCSoft knows the types of player "more apt" to purchase these runes, so it's actually a clever play on their part.

Still doesn't change the fact that the price is lulzworthy.
It's all good. This just shows the mentality of the player base.

As for you DrachaVonDrachen, getting a bundle vs non bundle is always cheaper. Again my post clearing states that both are over priced in my opinion.

I still don't get the "If you don't like the price, you can't afford it" mentality.

Ok so lemme see if i got you.

You don't like the price -> So you don't buy it -> Why do you bother then?

Possibile scenario:
After all you want to use them, but you won't pay that much for them aka you can't afford them.

Did i got it? :p

Scenario is this.

I don't like the price, therefore I don't buy, I am not bothering I was looking for an official answer.

I would love to use them, refuse to buy them due to cost, I can afford to spend the money but choose not to.

Did you get it?
Rich and cheap at the same time.

Working hard for the less fortunate to get a price cut.

That it?

Not really working for the less fortunate, I was merely making a point that I find the prices to a be a bit high. I am cheap. I will admit that, I've even been called "Jewish" by friends and family.

Dunno, but i don't ask stuff i am not interested in.

About spending that money, well you are either not rich enough to not care about that, or simply greedy (like we all are in some situations).

I agree with you, that it is for sure totally overpriced for some ppl, especially in the poor countries. But it's easier to get $$ from the rich ones. And for sure NC would have setted a lower price, if they think they would make in the end more $$ out of.

Regardless of financials, the price is overpriced.

People that spend to just spend are the entire cause of inflation. There will always be that idiot that will spend tons more than another REGARDLESS OF WEALTH.

it's like going into a car dealership with sticker price cash in hand and go, I'll take it with the best deal *Sticker Price* without haggling down the price to pay less. Mean while I'll go with cash in hand and pay below sticker price and come out with extra bucks in my pocket.

Point is, I don't see the amount of time I may use that rune to justify spending that kind of money on something that will expire faster than I can use it.

Simple solution would be not to use Runes and avoid looking at prices you can't haggle down to a price you can afford.

If you make 100k a year then haggling a 25k car down to 20k is an epic victory. However, if you pay 5k a night for a vacation cabin you wouldn't waste the time...

What ever you say dude. Keep on trolling that people can't afford this or that.

Sorry I drive a 75k car that I got for 68k. I can afford the runes in bulk, I'll choose not to purchase since the price is not acceptable to me.

Have a nice day.

Me and my girlfriend came back to L2 last week, and we are almost finished with mentoring. We thought about paying for exp runes, but they are just too expensive to buy for me, her, and our buffer, so we chose not to purchase any NC coins. I doubt that will change in the near or distant future too. We also useto pay monthly for each of our accounts, but that was monthly. $100 *3 per month is just too much for us, so we won't be paying it, ever.

Anyways, we'll just level legitly like we have been for the past decade. I mean, at least we get vitality points now.
I like the theory that things like XP runes should become cheeper over time.. like say the major patch will last 2 years, they should not exist.. in the mid stages full price, something like say 55 dollars per 1 week of 200% rune, then as the major release continues.. near the end should go down to like 25 bucks for a week, or 55 for two weeks, this kind of thing. That way people can catch up cheeper, and to take a lead in the beginning you must pay through the nose.
The price is ridiculous. Relative to the other runes, it's ridiculous.

As for the whole 1 hour vs. 7 day rune price comparison that's only valid for people who play ridiculous numbers of hours a day. For someone who is quite casual it's more economical to buy 1 hour runes to use when they know they can make full use of it. For someone who plays 8-18 hours a day, the 7 day runes are obviously, clearly better. Price doesn't make them better, it's just common sense.

Has nothing to do with whether or not you can afford it, or whether or not someone feels they are forced to buy them (to level up/compete, or whatever other reasons you can dream up).
That 10% victory is yours, enjoy it!!
Money doesn't lose value simply because you have lots of it.

It's still worth the same, and many people still value it the same. There are millionaires that still look for sales prices, because wasting money is still wasting money whether you have $1 or $100000000000.

Also keep in mind that someone making $100k/yr is probably only taking home about half of that due to taxes and deductions, so an extra 5k in the bank is still very useful. They can pay their insurance with that.

You obviously don't have a "lots of it", everyone is painfully aware rich people waste money... some revel in the fact they can. The line between the have and have-not can't be explained in these forums. The value you place on money is relative to how much you have... to say otherwise is childish and naive.

People don't get rich in the first place by wasting money. I have come across many beyond stinking rich people that are so cautious with every cent they spend that you look really stupid claiming your opinion is fact on this.

You are correct for the most part, but there are always exceptions to the norm.

I would buy a 200% rune every week if they were half the price they are now... It's hard to mentally justify the current price, so I only splurge on a 200% rune once every month or every other month. I am most certain they would sell enough to make more money if they lowered the price. Maybe they also wish to keep some of the people lower level so they don't hit level cap and get bored and quit as well (milk smaller amounts of money from people over a longer period of time).
