Testing: Last Hit for Drops
Question: Do you get more drops if the lowest level character in the party delivers the last hit on the boss OR does damage contribution affect the drops?
Reason: It's very important! Raid Boss: Freya (Level 85)
Note: Two party members were used for this test, so the items that drop may be different when there are two full parties. I used a level 99 character for this test to drastically show how damage contribution affects the drop.

Test Updated (Version: Valiance) 11/20/2013
Drops are calculated based on individual damage contribution.
* With those results we can establish it depend on the Percentage of the damage done, but now it require extra test where you test more than 2 players like for example 3 player: 1 player 85 makes 40% damage and 2 players 99 each of them make 30% damage.
with such test we will be able to determine if the drops chances are determined by the 60% total damage of 2 players level 99 or simply by the player who done most the damage(player lvl 85 with 40% damage).
* And here is also another thought maybe extra test: where player level 99 make 90% damage and log out while level 85 make the 10% rest of damage and see if it deletes the level 99 damage from calculation since he is logged off!
Um, I think this just confirms that for raid bosses:
"If the person who made the greatest contribution is 3 or more levels higher than the raid monster, then the item/Adena rewards will decrease. If the difference is 9 or more levels, the monster will drop nothing at all."
what for 6 ppl 85 and 1 99 in same pt .
% is for all 6 ppl or each .
example
1-10%
2-10%
3-10%
4-10%
5-10%
6-10%
7-40% 99lvl
drop - ???
and maybe answer on how will afect exp for all 85lvl , 99lvl in pt .
none of that matters. juji proved conclusively, the player lv 99 must do LESS than 50% of damage to get any drops. if that player does >50% damage, there will be no drops IRRESPECTIVE of who gets last hit.
the party can consist of 6x85's and 1x99, as long as 99 does not do >50% damage, there will be drops and it will not matter who gets last hit.

Actually, Spudnik said the exact same thing that's in the game tips you quoted, just with a different approach. I guess it's you who needs to read better, next time.
If a raid force really needs a higher level DD to take the boss down, that DD needs not to deal more damage than the other hitters (Spud quantified it at less than 50% damage in comparison to the lower level DDs), otherwise the drop chances say goodbye.

Let's see what he said:

So both with your logic, if in a pt of seven, we have:
p1=10%
p2=10%
p3=10%
p4=10%
p5=10%
p6=10%
p7(9lvl above raid)=40% (less than what Spudnik and you suggest:50%)
the boss will make drops..
Guess what? You both fail hard to understand that the damage given to the raid is being calculated individually, and not:

If this is true, the ingame tooltip is wrong, as the level 99 contributed most and is "9 or more" levels higher. There was never an indication anywhere that the game would group the contribution of players with different level ranges together, and then compare the range totals. No need to show childish glee towards people who trusted the tooltip and now see their belief contradicted.
Bonus question for pro raiders: How do a healer's heals "contribute" to the fight? Is the amount of HP healed on allies counted 1:1 as if it was damage done to the mob?

Usually damage comes from just 3-4 damage dealers. Some classes like healer or even summoner made 0 dmg at all. But if they in party during RB death, they get same base xp, as DD, depending of comparison their levels to RB level.
The most interesting thing, looks like server grouping same levels during damage calculation. If thats true, EVERY raid boss has false info during years, and now, after Juji post, it's should be :
"If the person or persons with same level, who made more then 50% damage contribution is 3 or more levels higher than the raid monster, then the item/Adena rewards will decrease. If the difference is 9 or more levels, the monster will drop nothing at all."
yes thats the question :) point dmg are individual or group :)
10x for info
so same is for exp i gues . 99 will get 0 and 85 dmg% = exp%
I went over the tests again to figure out if it's truly based on group damage or individual damage contributed. I found some errors in the recent tests (please disregard them). Loot is calculated by an individual's damage contribution.

They don't. Its all based on dps done to boss and who did it. Healers have no say...
Actually I should test this out in Teredor with my 92 healer. BRB.

1st one should be strikethrough too, no?
What difference between 1st and 3rd test?
Or some mega 85lvl from those 6 done 50.5% and other 5 - 0.1% each? Interesting.
Anyway, glad to see looting rights working as intended still, even in Valiance.
You stattered about lvl 99 player:

So, why you talking about ">3 levels over the boss" now?
i'm still right, tho.
as long as the player >3 levels over the boss doesnt do >49% damage then irrespective of who gets last hit there will be drops.
eat a bag of wieners.
You should play more Linege2 instead of hanging out at THIS forum. :D
Thank you Juji for all those tests, I feel myself senile old man in this thread, but now we all know: Spudnik is! XD
Btw, even in last "excuse" post, Spudnik is wrong, becase if "the player >3 levels over the boss" do, for example, 48% damage, most probably will be no drops, and forget about last hit, this stupid stereotype came from freeshards.
what was the MAXIMUM amount of damage the lv 95 player could do in the test juji ran, to obtain drops? go ahead and check, i'll wait.
what was the ONLY stipulation in that condition?
eat a bag of big juicy floppy wieners.
you want to know why i modified my original statement form Lv 99 player to >3 lv player ? because juji re-ran the test and included a lv 95 player in the test, further disqualifying the lv 99. in principle, i was still right.

You talking about this one?
Raid Boss: Freya
Level 95 - 50%
Level 85 - 51%
Drops: Yes
It's a synthetic test which will NEVER happend in real raiding. Because higher lvl char do much more dmg to dark blue mob, then 10lvl lower to white mob. Also, in real conditions, 3lvl higher then mob char can do more then 50% dmg, for example 55%, and will be drop still, with 100% probability. How? Try to answer here, to show us your "perfect" raiding skills ;)
And btw, no difference between 99lvl and 95lvl in Freya's eyes.
WHY ARE PEOPLE ASKING FOR STUPID TESTS IF IT'S SO OBVIOUS OH MAY LORD PLEASE COME DOWN AND KILL ALL THE NOOBS I CAN NOT TAKE THIS ANYMORE PLEASE COME AND BRING JUDGMENT DAY AND KILL THEM ALL PLEASE JESUS ALL MIGHTY PLEASE LORD COME I CAN HELP YOU ARCHANGEL MICHAEL THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD WHO IS GOD WHO IS LIKE GOD THE GENERAL OF THE HEAVEN ARMIES PLEASE COME AND DESTROY THEM ALL ARCHANGEL GABRIEL THE SECOND RANK GENERAL PLEASE COME AND ASSIST ARCHANGEL MICHAEL PLEASE AND STOP THIS MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a question.
What about drop if DD 99 lvl will make damage and before RB die he go out, change class on dual class (lv 95 healer, for example) and come back?
Also if DD 99 made damage and before RB die he logged out?
Bonus question for pro raiders: How do a healer's heals "contribute" to the fight? Is the amount of HP healed on allies counted 1:1 as if it was damage done to the mob?
It doesnt "contribute"to the fight :)
If u have one person in the party who made 0 dmg to the RB,for example - The healer,and u dismiss him from a party before raid boss die,he will get exacly 0% exp and res 6 people will split the xp , u can dismiss even the tank if he dont need xp ;)
p.s. This is good if u want to use 99 lvls iss,healer and tank in a PT,lower lvl dds and go raiding for drop ;)
