Of course you can. Just because you have a default passive bestowing upon you +10 dark doesn't mean you have to use dark attribute. Whichever weapon attribute you choose, it'll override your passive one.

Wind is generally considered a good attribute for your polearm (due to many AoE places being filled with mobs resistant to earth).

Depends on the spot you wanna pve.
