hello and I'm new with a question or two

Aeore Healer Started Last reply 13 posts
Greetings

Going to give L2 a shot as I was in a whole myriad of mmorpgs.

What I love is healing classes, in fact in WOW I was a druid. But as time progressed I wish I had chosen a Pally.

So Trying to start off right, I'm asking about healing classes and whatnot while the game downloads.

I love groups(so if you have a server where a 2nd shift(Chicago time) worker can group up with before and mainly after work, Pls post!)

I'm ok with PVP(I hate griefing though, if your grp griefs, don't ask me to help)

As I'm new any resources that would help me pick which race best suits my playing style(love to heal, not dps/heal or any other hybrid healers, I'm pure heals) I would love to have you Post!
Hello,

welcome to L2!
It may sound bit unpolite, but pls read around here. Cos this got asked sooo many times already.
If then you have any Questions in detail ppl will gladly help.
The Aeore Healer's main task is to heal. Not to nuke down things. That's done only while soloing or when there's nothing else to do.
The three races with a healer class (human, elf and dark elf) have basically the same skills, save for the stats, but as Dreamer said you're better off reading your info on those since they've been talked about countless times.
Tip: the main site's library section and beginner section are worth a shot.
yea I have been reading up on the forum posts.

but like in wow, I just read the new player guide and what not(long ago in BC). Hence me asking the question.

I mean if I knew then what I know now. . . (imo trees were the bstard children of wow)
that's why I asked. And from some of the posts, wow just wow. didn't know you can lose xp(that kicks ****) it sounds like grouping has meaning in L2(something I sorely miss from wow)

Anyhoo reading on and I thank both of you for your posts.

edit: for instance it seems every H. class has a different set of spells or whatnot, if this is true, where can I get laymans understanding on how they work(IE in wow a druid was a heal over time, while a pally was instaish heal and a priest had "pre-healing") hope that doesn't sound confusing.
Those set of spells are different only pre 85, so they don't matter a lot, only as a training...
thankyou again. :)

btw 75% dloaded :)
Well, you can roll a human healer since it's pretty much the one with the most healing spells out of the 3 races, and those spells are very similar to what you'll use after 85.
The dark/elven healers are more geared towards mana regeneration, so they have less healing oriented skills till 76, when you can learn them with pomanders (and unlearn again after 85 - yes, it's a silly system now).
What you have to keep in mind are the racial stats and skills.
where do I find these racial stats and skills?
Check l2gc, that has a pretty good table on those.

oh hell yea, that's what i'm talkin bout

thankyou all for the tips.

I've never played WoW as you did, i guess, but here on lineage all the classes are "hybrids" through their journey and untill they get high lvl.

For example, mages. They at the begining have healing, buff, damage, and summon skills, or tanks: they are fighters but later make the decition if go for tank or warrior type.

In your journey you shall have different kind of mages skills but while you are growing up you'll deicide between your profession roll. In your case: Healers :)
any new player to L2 should understand, leveling can take a very long time, like months, before you get to end game-ish (85 awakened). and atm any race of healer functions almost exactly the same.

1-75 should only take a week. 75-85 will take the rest of the month given you put 3-4 hours a day into the game. This is with VIT + Mentor Bonus. It can go even faster with EXP Runes.

If I recall, WoW leveling is pretty bad. I wouldn't say as bad as L2, but close to comparable.
