INstalling the game now. Looking to get back into an MMO. Played WoW for 2 years pre-BC and always wanted to try out lineage. It's been a while since I played an MMO but I am excited to get back into it.
I was wondeirng what server I should join. I live in the northeast of america if that has anything to do with my choice. Looking to play with mainly american people here... what do you recommend?
Chronos and Naia are always good choices as these servers have been around for 8 years. The politics and economy are more stable than other servers, with a higher population. However, due to their longer life-span, there is a greater curve as far as levels and gear are concerned. You may need to work harder to reach your goal.
Shillen was the first server to open as L2 went free to play. That being said there is a larger Brazilian community on Shillen than there is on any other server.
Bartz and Magmeld were to follow after GoD went live. They have a larger foreign population than Chronos and Naia, but not as bad (or good, if you're BR) as Shillen. Both of these servers are just over a year old, and you my find them easier to compete in if you get into the PvP aspect of Lineage 2.
TL;DR I suggest Magmeld or Bartz, personally. I know some may disagree but chances are they wont be able to give you the well rounded knowledge of all the servers as I have.
Sources: Payed subscriber for 8 years, Kain> Aria> Chronos servers. NCSoft informed us when the new servers opened that server transfers to the new servers would not be available, so i gave away everything I had earned in 7 years on Chronos to re-roll on Magmeld for a new community with an even battlefield of people all the same level and gear. Currently residing on Magmeld.
Side note, if any hill-jacks say "d00d magnald is full of naabz they cant pvp jaja" just ignore these ignorant natives.
