Tales of Linnda!

FINAL EDIT: This will be a sort of fan-fiction/journal/image-blog project I'll be doing for L2. I'm going to try updating this often when something major occurs or if I feel like a great story is coming up. I have some ideas that I might come up with later. Look at the goals to see what to expect from me.

Yay! My start again at fanfiction. Time to go at it.

It was only when she was standing in front of the massive white-stone gates of the castle-town did she realize that she was home. Tired from her long journey to an unknown land, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes in relief.

She was home.

"So this is where you lived before?" questioned the Agathion floating over her shoulder.

Linnda threw a quick glance at the cute bear and smiled.

"Yes, I used to live here with my old clan before I departed. I'm not sure how they've been faring, but we'll see soon enough," Linnda replied.

The bear tilted her head, staring at the town as if in deep thought.

"I feel a dark presence here in this town. The town is just leaking darkness."

Linnda took a look at the town again and indeed it was bathed in darkness. The majestic white walls starkly contrasted with the writhing wisps of darkness that leaked from the crevices. Linnda shuddered a bit.

"It's probably Kartia or perhaps some sort of ilk Shilen has brought upon this town," Linnda said half-heartedly.

The bear made noises, sounding playfully inquisitive. She giggled.

"You don't think the people are all zombies or something in there right?"

Linnda looked at the gate again, the darkness seething out of it. "Maybe I should be cautious," the Kamael thought to herself.

"I don't feel any strong malevolent characters present, though I feel a large presence of awakened champions here though," the bear commented, cutting through Linnda's doubts in an instant.

Linnda relaxed. They champions inside are probably dealing with the issue. If push comes to shove, she can help them against any serious threat.

"No need to worry." Linnda assured herself

Linnda began to make her way into town. As she made her way through the outer gate, her eyes met with the beautiful greenery and the intricate waterworks that decorated the outer ring of the town. After his Majesty's renovation, Aden became a brilliant gem on the continent of Aden. In fact, after his major renovation, most of the wealthier nobles flooded into the town and ravenously purchased whatever piece of the jewel they could get their hands on. In fact, buying property here became so outrageous that the Lord himself had to partake in controlling the sales of the property here.

Linnda laughed a little. "The things that people are willing to spend money on," she mused.

Something was different. Normally at this time of day, the nobles would be out on their evening strolls, talking about the resplendent splendor of the town among other things with the other residents. Now, there isn't a single noble in sight. All Linnda saw was the meticulous shuffling of hooded men in ragged gowns. They walked around grotesquely, quietly chuckling to themselves probably about something sinister.

"Hmm... If I recall, his Majesty made it his utmost priority to eliminate these eyesores from the village. Soldiers would have immediately arrested these miscreants if they dared to show their faces in public," Linnda pondered, "Now they're roaming around freely doing as they please."

As Linnda made her way through the inner gate, she saw the the usual vendors and bidders crowding around the Auction House Manager. The Auction House reminded her of his Majesty's benevolence. After his Lordship's economic revitalization, necessary good became more easily accessible to the general public; a much needed change from the old system of sharp rich and poor class distinction that plagued the land in the past.

"Maybe I can find that pendant I wanted to buy in the past, and for a cheap price too," Linnda thought to herself as she moved along.

As she made her way toward the town center, she heard the clamor of the champion volunteers crowding around the Kartia Researcher for a chance to test their mettle against the other worldly threats within the warped dimensional space.

"Let me at em! I slice all their heads off in one sweep!" an Orc roared.
"Not if my spells fry them before you even unsheathe your piece of scrap," a Feoh Wizard mocked.
"Why you!..."

Linnda chuckled. Somethings never do change.

Linnda made a sharp right through a smaller arch. She made a left and was in front of her old clan hall.

"Home sweet home," Linnda thought to herself as she stood in front of the elegantly structured building.

However, Linnda felt uneasy on her way here. As she was making her way here, she noticed that squads strange men clad in black hued armor were patrolling through the town. On their armor they had two marks. On their chest the held the mark of the Aden lord, while on their pauldrons a enigmatic insignia with a sword on a sun was roughly inscribed into the plating.

Strange, she never recalled the Lord of Aden stationing this many soldiers for the security his town, let alone mercenaries. Must be something about Shilen that is stirring up his majesty's feathers. Something is definitely up.

"Those men are a blur, I can't sense anything! Maybe we should..." The Bear said with discomfort.

"I should watch myself and avoid trouble. I don't know what I'm dealing with," Linnda advised herself.

"Just leave it, we'll figure it out after we go meet with my old clanmates," Linnda replied nonchalantly, cutting off the Bear.

"I don't like the feeling of this," The Bear pouted.

A familiar face was still standing in front of the hall as always. It was Niels, the doorman of the clan. He was always upbeat and cheerful in the past as she remembered. However, Niels seems very different from before. Now, he looks very tense and nervous, completely opposite of his outgoing personality the Niels Linnda remembered had before.

"Maybe if I give him a shout he'll brighten up. I'm sure he would be happy to see me," Linnda thought to herself.

"Niels! It's been a while hasn't it," Linnda shouted in glee as she made her way toward him.

The keeper looked up in surprise and saw Linnda. He rapidly approached Linnda an pulled her close.

http://imageshack.us/a/img694/3994/shot00009bd.png

"Get inside quick, Albert will tell you everything," he whispered.

Linnda was quickly swallowed by the clan hall, the doors slamming shut right as she was pulled inside. A hand covered her mouth as she was pulled deeper inside the hall.

"Grrr....Get your hands off of...," the Bear began to shout.

"Shhh!" A voice replied.

The Bear immediately fell silent as she heard the footsteps of armored men approach the door. A hoarse voice resonated through the doors.

"I heard some shouting, sirrah did you see the cause of this disruption?" the voice barked.
"No! No Sir! I simply heard the noise too!" replied Niels.
"Are you sure? If I recall, this was the meeting place of an outlaw clan before his Majesty did away with them."
"Yes! I only heard some noise!"
"We're under strict orders to apprehend any 'strangers' that may come disturb this peaceful village of Aden. You aren't hiding any miscreants now are you?" the voice sneered.
"I am sure! The clues I've given you last week were the only traces of the important members that I know! I swear!"
A loud crack could be heard outside; as if a metal gauntlet punched the wall.
"Good, I'll make a report to the Lord of your compliance."

The arms around Linnda relaxed as the noises of footsteps slowly faded away

"Great, now I need to fix that dent in the outside wall. Sorry about that Linnda, Aden has been a mess as of late and you just threw a rock at a weird bee's nest," a familiar voice said.

"It's been a while Albert and this is no way to treat a lady," Linnda replied jokingly.

Albert was the hall manager, managing the functions and settings of the clan hall. He does his job earnestly, while keep a casual and very cordial attitude with others. But something was different this time. Although his way of talking was exactly the same, he seemed a lot more serious and grave in his tone of voice. Something is definitely up.

http://imageshack.us/a/img202/8846/shot00017gq.png

"Sorry about that Linnda, but the clan is pretty much underground at this point. There was a coup d'etat and now a new Lord is ruling over Aden. I odn't know the details, but I do know that he's been ousting any threats to his reign. Nobles, clans, whatever he deems is a threat to him, he eliminates. He wages extreme taxes while enjoying the protection of his bullies. Aden has fallen to darkness."

Linnda froze for a moment in shock. She quickly composed herself then started.

"Way to tell me straight up," Linnda replied dryly.

"Well it's better if you know sooner than later," he replied.

"Explain to me who those men are."

"The fractured Remnants of The Revolutionaries of Dusk."

Now it all came together in Linnda's mind

"Which explains the reason behind the darkness seething from the town. This tyrant is probably an agent of Shilen," Linnda concluded.

"Precisely, and in other towns there are similar trends of evil. Wretched kings are empowered by Shilen to wreck havoc and harm over its citizens and cause misery throughout their territory," Albert stated, "However, there has been news of benevolent nobles are blessed by Einhasad, Eva, and Laksis in many ways like bountiful harvest seasons or miraculous protection against malevolent forces. "

It all made sense, except one thing...

"Why is this happening now?"

"My guess is Shilen is beginning to make her move, my hunch is that the 5th seal beginning to crack under the weight of her power."

"Figures, just as I got back all this happens," Linnda cursed in her head.

"Okay, let's put this into perspective, how does this affect us immediately?"

"Well first off, the previous leaders of your clan have fled and are in hiding. There was really no choice. If they fought they would have been killed. If they stayed, they would have been arrested and executed. Now, the clan is running underground without any sort of real leadership for the sake of safety."

"Sounds lovely...What do you recommend?"

"Write a diary, make a journal and share your tale with others so that you can unify a band of friends to stand against this evil. A revolution is coming, you'll need a lot of friends to face the ensuing chaos."

"You sound a lot like that crazy Proclaimer in Goddard who was barking something about light prevailing over darkness," Linnda retorted.

Albert paused and gave Linnda a harsh stare. Linnda then realized...that Goddard was one of the towns blessed by light. "Wow, I'm an idiot," she thought.

"Fair enough. Bear, what's the status of my projects to be completed."

Bear closed her eyes in deep meditation, looking as if she was looking deep in the depths of her memory for all the information her master required. She opened her eyes then started.

"There are several goals that can be accomplished to add to your individual strength:

Unlock the final potential of the Judicator and Awaken (Gain an Iss Dual Class)
Gain more experience in your healing and unlock even greater potential given from Laksis (Level main up to 90)
Raise your Kookaburra to a point of self sufficiency so it can aid you in your assigned tasks (Level Kook to 99)

Some of these are easily in reach...others are extremely stupid to pursue, but I suppose if you do them, you'll gain some sort of merit from other champions. You can also help others so that your overall preparation in making a force to stand against Shilen is stronger. You can do the following:

Help young warriors become stronger under your guidance, gaining reputation for you and your clan as leaders against the evil (Farm Clan Rep points)

All of these are do-able and you should be able to get some benefit out of helping others in order to fight the evil. You can also do some research and find some background behind some mystery and knowledge behind different things as well. I will give you a few examples, but you have the freedom to decide what you want to research and learn (fan-fiction):

Catacombs/Dimensional Rift/Kartia/Kamaloka see what connections there are with the other factors and possibly yourself.
The Lore of the Past (Read up Lore)
Political tensions between different groups and perhaps racial tensions that may exist as well.

I think that's about all I know at the moment," the Bear concluded.

"Bear, get me in touch with Pebble, I'd like her to get reacquainted with her old anvil," Linnda said with a smile.
Good story.. Keep it up..
Journal Today:

Maximized Expertise as a Soulhound (hit 100% exp on sub)
Transitioned into a Judicator and learned the secret origins of the Kamael
Managed to slay a Kartia instance despite the complete disorganization of our team.
Nice prologue. Lack of proper descriptions since players know how Aden appears, but I liked the interactions between Linnda and her Panda agathion.

Btw, the proper name of the goddess is Shilen, "Shillien" is an adjective. (Remember Stigma of Shilen skill? It was improperly called Stigma of Shilien before Freya update.)

Thanks a lot for the comments guys. I'll be writing more about my world! xD

What to expect next: my explaination for agathions (what they are /their purpose, etc.)
Okay here's one about Lumi!

Linnda was in her clan hall preparing herself for a mission at the Bloody Swampland. Vollodos just contacted her again, asking her to prepare some samples so he could study a possible cure for what illnesses befell the Dark Elves during Shilen's awakening.

"It must have been tough for him to see everyone he knew die all around him," Linnda thought to herself.

"Linnda, want me to make the preparations to summon Lumi?" the Bear asked.

"Yes Bear," Linnda replied curtly.

The Bear floated around playful and made some careful movements, adjusting the magic levels and environment in order to make the place suitable for summoning

"Done," said the Bear, "The clan hall is ready for you to summon Lumi."

Linnda took a deep breath then closed her eyes. She started her chant to summon the Spirit of Light

"Friend of Laksis, Warrior of Light, lend me your aid to fight against the dark!"

Linnda was surrounded by an aura of light, shinning brilliantly as she continued the chant

http://imageshack.us/a/img72/5121/shot00025e.png

"Lumi I ask of you to heed my call and come forth the fight the shadows that threaten the innocent!"

A circle blinding blue light appeared in front of Linnda. Appearing within the light was a swordswoman who was ethereal and had a shinning aura of light within her.

http://imageshack.us/a/img542/4867/shot00026b.png

"My master, what is it that you require of your servant?" the spirit asked.

"We're going to the Bloody Swamps for a mission, I need you to aid me to gather samples for Vollodos so he can find a cure to an inexplicable illness," Linnda replied

The bear floated in front of the spirit, looking at her inquisitively

http://imageshack.us/a/img203/3908/shot00028ya.png

"Would you like an analysis of the summon?" the Bear asked.

"Yes, please Bear. I would like to check up Lumi. It's been a while since I've summoned her," Linnda replied.

The Bear closed her eyes, analyzing Lumi's current state of being. She opened them and started

"Lumi:

Guardian Parameters:
Strong defense stats with decent melee capability.
Can draw aggression from enemies in order to direct hostility away from her master.
High base health with bonuses from her shielding.
Sword gives her a decent amount of chance for critical.

Spellblade Parameters:
Strong ranged attack; gathers up a small, yet powerful blue orb of light that smites foes.
High base attack.
Decent health stats along with defense.
Cannot take hard hits.
Low base critical, due to her attack being magic based.

Lore: Lumi is a guardian of Aeore Healers. Lumi is the manifestation of both the blessings of Laksis and Saha that are given physical form. As a result she is a pure being of light that is suited to eliminate demons and other foul beasts that would dare harm the weak and innocent. Depending on who her master is, Lumi has access to different forms with several different parameters and skill sets. The two known forms are Lumi's Spellblade form and Lumi's Guardian form. Linnda's Lumi is a rare case where she has access to two of Lumi's forms. Linnda also has a very rare skill in her Guardian Lumi, which is drawing aggression. Normally associated with the power of Abelius, Linnda's Lumi has miraculously gained this ability. Whether it's dumb luck or blessing from Abelius himself, Linnda's Lumi will be an invaluable asset to her adventures in the future.

Well that's done," the Bear concluded.

Linnda began to move toward the clan hall doors. She turned her head.

"Both of you come. We have a lot of work to do," Linnda said.

"Right away!"
"Yay! A mission!"
The good part of the fanfictions is that you can bend the laws the way you want. This idea of Lumi's stances is nice.

Also, the screenshots make for a cute addition to the story.

But I haven't gotten the Agathion's purpose yet, are they animal companions? Or something akin to the Talking Cricket? A spiritual helper?
Albert doesn't seem to have noticed the Bear on Linnda's shoulder, so I'm thinking the Agathion is something that only the owner/master can see and talk to.

Thanks! Your posts keep me motivated to write!

Also that was an oversight. The Bear can be seen by others, it's just that Albert was really focused on the fact that they're in a hostile environment and would really not have the thought of asking about the bear when those guards are present. I'm slowly think about ideas about how to make Bear interact with characters other than Linnda in ways other than superficial.
Your bear is like a pokedex.
Your bear is like a pokedex.

Pretty much.

Also I'm got cann'd on the boards for a few months. Will be posting only FanFiction on this account while avoiding infraction.
Nvm i'm back expect another piece today!
Glad you returned safe and sound :>
Okay here's one about the bear.

Linnda was in her clan hall doing some studies. On her way back from the Bloody Swampland, she dropped by the Kamael Village to take a few texts left in the Hierarch's Temple. A lot of supplies were abandoned when the Kamael fled their village during that fateful day of Shilen's awakening. A lot of the ancient texts that told of the Kamael history were forgotten amidst the chaos of that day. Thankfully, Kekropus and the other Hierarch's had memorized the Kamael's complicated history. Almost nothing was lost and they're currently restoring these texts in the Talking Island Museum. However, due complicated restrictions and current issues as of now, Linnda's status as a Judicator was not enough to clear her for access to some of Kekropus' deeper knowledge about the Kamael race, especially the information regarding the Spicula.

"So I did a few...necessary, measures to study more about my race," Linnda thought to herself.

Linnda knew from her knowledge as a Judicator that the Kamael were originally made by the Giants to oppose the Gods. By design, the Kamael were made to defeat the Gods. Linnda studied this in hopes of discovering some sort of a trump card or major advantage that the Kamael may have that would be able to slay Shilen.

"And then later...Einhasad," Linnda muttered in disgust.

"You seem agitated," the Bear said.

"Sorry," Linnda replied.

The Bear giggled as she floated around Linnda playfully. Linnda remembered when Agathions first were created by the wizards of Ivory Tower. By imbuing a bracelet with magical properties and a crystal with a bound soul uncovered by the Dwarven Gray Pillar Guild, a miniature summon was created. This summon had a conscience of its own that was linked to the master. It used the bracelet wearer's life energy to give itself physical body and form. The Agathion was an aid for adventurers who could afford it, doing active calculations for its master while enhancing combat capabilities with small boosts to certain character parameters.

The first wave of these Agathions were very similar to cubics in that they were simple and lacked the complex features that Agathions today have. These first generation Agathions had only the capability to calculate stat parameters and give a tiny boost to its master's own parameters. Linnda remembered owning one of these older models. A wave of nostalgia gentle passed over her. She smiled.

"I don't know where I would have been if it wasn't for the Knight Agathion constantly re-evaluating enemy parameters while I was fighting against Emnity and FuriousSteel," Linnda quietly told herself.

"Did you say something?" the Bear politely asked.

Linnda shook her head. She turned back to her books, pretending to study as she mused about her Agathions

The second wave of Agathions were a much better improvement from the first. They were more fluid in speech and adopted more real personalities instead of robotic ones. They used their own battery core on top of their master's life energy, therefore giving the Agathion a lot more independence and freedom in movement than the previous generation. However, they still had the same problems as the first generation, which was their limited function. They could only do calculations and give a slightly better parameter boost to their master when needed.

Then the third generation of Agathions were created a bit later. These Agathions boasted a large power core that made them completely independent of their masters. Furthermore these Agathions could do a lot more that stat calculations and small parameter boosts. They were full fledged summons that could aid their master in combat in a significant way. From major heals to offensive spells, these Agathions could easily turn the tide of a battle in favor of their master.

Linnda looked at her Bear and smiled.

Linnda mused about how she received Bear. She remembered it was a gift from her friend from the land she traveled. Tyria, if she recalled was technologically ahead of Aden by 100 years. She met with an aspiring Asura who was seeking to invent something new for her people that would, "impress them all and show 'em whose a true genius!" The Asura was inquisitively curious about Linnda (who, as a Kamael, was completely alien to the continent) and asked her a lot of questions about her race, her continent, her technology, and so on. One day, Linnda's Asuran friend saw her Knight Agathion Bracelet and was delightedly curious of its function. Linnda showed her and the Asura was amazed. She babbled on about artificial intelligence and some golem science that Linnda couldn't comprehend. Then she told Linnda she could make a new bracelet for her, something unique and never seen by anyone of her continent. Linnda, seeing no harm in this new endeavor, agreed. This is how Linnda got Bear...

"I got it! I made it! It's a new Bracelet made by yours truly!" the Asura said triumphantly as she ran out of her lab.

"Oh wow it looks much larger than my old one!" Linnda replied as she turned to face the little tinkerer.

"That's because your power core was so tiny and primitive," the Asura said bluntly.

"Hey, this Agathion served well me for quite some time!" Linnda said distastefully.

"Well on your continent, it's understandable how it would work. Here, your little piece of junk wouldn't last a second," the Asura continued, unaware of Linnda's annoyance, "Anyway, this thing can do everything your Agathion does, but even better. Heck! It's basically its own living creature with it's own life and conscience linked directly to yours! It can enhance your power in many ways, I can explain endlessly what you can do with this thing, but since I got the design of this bracelet I can't sit here explaining to you every bit and detail of the ****ed construct. I gotta start mass producing them! Fame doesn't grow on trees you know!"

Linnda took the bracelet from the little Asura and put it on her left wrist.

"Then how do I use this?" asked Linnda irritatingly.

"The same way you used the old one!" The Asura replied in a jolly tone, "Oh, and here's some additional instruction that you can read to solve out some of the more involved functions!"

The short creature struggled to pull out a huge manuscript. She then dropped it into Linnda's hands. The Kamael went down hard.

"Ooof!"

"Well enjoy it! I assumed you might be like the other bookahs who look like you on this continent. So I made it into something cute!" the Asura said with a smile, "I'm off to make a name for myself!"

The Asura ran off without even saying good-bye to the Kamael.

"Some friend," Linnda thought to herself as she inspected the bracelet on her left wrist, "If it's the same as my Knight, then I should be able to summon it..."

A bright blue light flashed from the bracelet as the power was released from the jewel, Linnda could feel the power surging from the bracelet as if it would explode. The light was blinding, Linnda closed her eyes for a moment. Then the power ebbed away as Linnda reopened her eyes to see a cute teddy bear floating in front of her.

"How may I be of assistance?" the Bear asked with a playful smile.

All Linnda remembered then was hugging the bear endlessly due to its cuteness. It was real and furry! The Agathion was huge too! Not like anything she had seen previously in Aden.

"That tickles! Stop the hugging!" the Bear pleaded while giggling.

That was the day that Linnda summoned Bear, and has never been without the Agathion since

"You should stop daydreaming and get back to reading those texts!" the Bear reminded Linnda.

Linnda smiled once more. She never does feel lonely anymore.
Oh gods! Oh joy! A crossover with Guild Wars!

The Asura is as mean as his race is depicted in the Eye of the North expansion...

I figured to use GW2 Asura for the creation of this Agathion. After all I was playing GW2 and LoL all this time before I came back to L2. One of my friends from GW2 purchased the Agathion for me and she was an Asura so it worked out perfectly. ;)

The Asura were introduced in Guild Wars: Eye of the North (short: GW:EN, as a pun on a certain NPC's name), and they were actually more mean than current GW2 Asura, which are more like a comic relief than an arrogant and prideful race. I still haven't seen an Asura calling "bookah" a member from another race :p

I know, I got the God Amongst Mortals title...I'm pretty well-verse in GW lore.
That was just to say that your depiction of the Asura character was more similar to GW1's, in my opinion ;)

Actually, the agathion thingie could also explain certain minipets in GW... Not all resemble dolls empowered by mini-mechanism, like the Gwen-chan minipet. (I want it QQ)

(Also, I'm 2-3 titles away from GWAMM but can't bring myself to grind for the Kurzick faction title... 4 ranks are waaaaay too much after grinding so much already)

I know right!

Trust me...it sucked to get all the way up there.

Also make sure you rep me!
Bump due to that ******ed BR flooding the board with his nonsense.
Here's a new one with the latest developments of my own character.

Linnda was in a Goddard Clan Hall. Due to even more pressures and oppression from his Majesty in Aden, she was forced out of the town and from her clan. Linnda moved in with a Dawn aligned clan called Sunshine. Goddard is a Town of Light, a haven for those who oppose the rule of Shilen and her darkness. Not only are there town guards stationed here from the Duke of Goddard, but there are also Priests of Dawn and Dawn Soldiers who are assisting with patrols here with the Duke's forces. Linnda felt immensely relieved and was at ease in this town. She was sitting down in Sunshine's Clan Hall reading through her notes regarding the Seven Seals.

Recently, Linnda dove deeper into her studies of the Seven Seals. She worked reluctantly with the Dusk Abyssal Priestess Elcadia by the order of The High Witness of Dawn, Franz, in order to dive deeper into the history of the ancient Elmordian Kingdom in hopes of finding some key clue that would allow her to triumph over the forces of Shilen.

"And perhaps a way to finally destroy Einhasad," Linnda quietly muttered.

Getting into the Library of Dawn was easy for Linnda due to her high clearance level as a Judicator. Finding out the truth behind Solina and the corruption of the humans made Linnda sick to the stomach. First the humans declare war on the non-believers of Einhasad, raging bloody massacre and turning many people to the dark goddess Shilen. Then the humans, according to the biased history, acted out of insolence and saw themselves as capable as the gods themselves. The history is similar to that of the destruction of the Giants. Einhasad threw her wrathful fit and sent her armies of light to confront Baium and his forces. Thus the history of the Tower of Insolence was made and the tower exists today as a testament to that history. Linnda sighed. Einhasad is just as terrible as Shilen herself. Both should be destroyed, for their emotions of rage, jealousy, pride, anger, hate, and revenge bring only suffering to the people of this world. It's because of them people have many bloody wars and conflicts.

Linnda's recent visit to the Monastery of Silence has given her a lot of insight on humans who follow Einhasad. The aesthetic monks there have held their vows of silence, but underneath their sealed lips their disdain and suppressed anger toward the lords and kings in throughout the land reflect the rage and jealousy of Einhasad herself.

Linnda thought again. We are beings capable of amazing things. The gods may have created us, but that doesn't mean they control us. The Giants were great examples of good creators. They created the Kamael with a purpose to serve, yet they were compassionate enough to save us from their own demise. We need to start thinking on our own and forge our own destinies if we plan to move to a better tomorrow.

And so Linnda spent the rest of her night studying her texts, finding her own answers to the problems she faced.

I always loved the Seven Signs epic quests!

And I also waited relentlessly for a new chapter!
Thanks Tif. I'll spend more time now writing now I'm on a break from studies :D
Again a nice tale.
May i suggest/request to check the Storyline about Forrest of the Dead.
It is a really wonderfull Quest Chain lore wise.
Also the Primeval Isle quest chain is interesting for fueling Linnda's studies...

By the way, do you plan to sew together these "one-shots" chapters into a coherent storyline?

Eventually I'll come around to it. Right now I'm loaded with ideas, but I just can't come around to completing them.

I haven't been able to play L2 due to my parents taking away my laptop and locking my IP/MAC address on my gaming computer. Psychological issues aside, things have been both pleasant and brutal here back at home.

Anyway, when I finish up some work tomorrow I'll get to writing my next story. I'll have to look into the PI quest chain again. It's Shilen, but it's like an offshoot, somehow I'm going to have to fit it into my fiction work.

I gotta start jotting down mental notes...

If you want I can provide you a summary of the quest chain dialogues, if it helps you. Just drop a pm if you feel like it :) (There's also a lore thread on these boards where it's been discussed)

I also hope you can resume playing, at least a bit.
Cleaned and final product!~

"Bear bring me tea," Linnda said as she flipped through another page of her notebook.
"You're studying too much...why won't you go out and play anymore," the Bear pouted.

Linnda remained silent, ignoring the Bear as she flipped through her notes. It's fascinating how there were many parallels between the dark Catacombs of Shilen and the Kamaelic Isle of Souls. Linnda noted many similarities between the two structures within their dimensional realms. First and foremost, both the Kamaelic Village and the Catacombs were sealed off into other dimensions for reasons of protection. This probably means that the power of the gods do not extend past or beyond the dimension. More specifically the gods' omnipotence has some sort of limit as Einhasad failed to eradicate Linnda's own race and the remnants of Shilen's army dwelling in Catacomb due to ignorance, or perhaps even carelessness.

Maybe the Giants actually had much more potential than the gods themselves.

Unfortunately that would also mean that Shilen herself has access to powers beyond that of Einhasad.

That doesn't explain though why Eva and Gran Kain would know about the Dimensional Rifts, specifically the one which protected Linnda's race for so long.

This is something Linnda would dive into further, as this study directly touches upon the abilities of the gods themselves.

Linnda shuffled through her notes again, this time pulling up the similarity between both the Kamaelic and the Shilen-based architecture. The build style is probably meant to hold some sort of magic in order to withstand the unstable space of the dimensional rifts.

Something in Linnda's mind clicked. Both had dark powers to sustain and power the structures and their inhabitants within the rift. Whereas Shilen used her own dark powers to power the structures and beings within the rifts, the Metusela Kamael used the power of souls to fuel their training. Did Mother Nornil make use of these powers as well to keep the Kamael within the rift?

Linnda groaned. Now Mother Nornil has gone rampant due to Dr. Chaos' meddling. Now her clearance as a Judicator means nothing as she would probably have to fight her way through the Spicula clones and **** into Nornil's system. Unfortunately this was morally unsettling to Linnda as Mother Nornil was held in the highest respect within her race. Doing a violating action like hacking would go against the years of moral teaching the Kamaelic race was based upon.

Linnda eased a little. The circumstances call for it, there is nothing else that needs to be said.

Linnds let out a sigh, then continued again through her notes.

"Perhaps, the Giants stole magic from Shilen, perhaps Shilen stole technology from the Giants," Linnda thought to herself as she went through her notes again.

Linnda's Judicator permissions seem to be hitting their limits, as she was unable to clear herself for entrance to the Catacombs the other day.

Linnda began to recall the days of peace before the destruction Shilen wrought unto Aden.

Catacomb hunting was always a profitable business especially when Ancient Adena was circulated among the Lords of Dawn and the Army of Dusk to fuel their never-ending wars for control of the Seals. Back then, Linnda was simply a sword for hire as the Kamael were recently warped into Aden from hiding by the "grace" of Eva and Gran Kain. To her, the Seal Stones were just a means to firmly establish herself as a member of Aden society and financially support the Kamaelic campaign of base establishment. Now she realized her errors aligning with he Armies of Dusk for profit. Shilen is making moves against the world, and now Linnda's race is in danger too. Linnda hardened herself to the feelings of guilt and focused only on moving toward the future.

Linnds reviewed what she came up with today. It seems as though the parallels between the Kamael and the Catacombs may lead to some sort of kink, a weakness of Shilen (and maybe perhaps even the gods) that can be exploited to the benefit of the Kamaelic race. Linnda gave this a second thought. She would probably have to join the campaign against the Spicula on the Isle of Souls to find out more information regarding the Kamael, especially the programming of Mother Nornil.

"I want to go see the dinosaurs that Tife told us about yesterday!" the Bear started whining.

Linnda remembered! She heard from a close friend that the Elrokians and the Primeval Isle may have some clues regarding more details regarding Shilen. Perhaps she would learn something there that would be of use in her studies linking the Kamael and the Catacombs together.

Linnda closed her notebooks and stood up.

"Bear, let's take a trip to the dinosaurs. I think they might be able to help me in my studies," Linnda said as she walked toward her clan hall door.

"Dinosaurs are smart?!" the Bear replied in confusion.

Linnda giggled a little. The bear would always somehow manage to bring her back to the good things to enjoy.

---

Linnda could only wonder. What sort of darkness was she diving into...
I puked.
The Bear is really funny. First with reminding Linnda she's being too nerdy, and then wondering about the dinos... Certainly I wouldn't call them smart, but cannon fodder!

Another hint, the new Noblesse quest seems to attract Einhasad's direct interference somehow, unfortunately I've done mine before Tauti and to dive into it I need to Awaken and noble one of my alts...

I <3 you too.

Thanks Tif. I got my writing inspiration back, so I've jotted down a few ideas for other branch offs to keep things going. That's something I may look into with my alts. That is, if I even get enough time to play on my alts and level myself up before Lindvoir hits.
Cleanup Done!

Linnda was on her way to the Primeval Isle by suggestion of her friend, Tiferet. Although she was prepared for dinosaurs and the wilds of the jungle when she got there, she was completely caught off guard with the means of getting there.

The boat crashed against a wave, throwing Linnda off balance and unto her rump.

"Oof..."

She was sailing on the ocean. On one of the few ships to the island. Linnda was struggling with the swaying and rocking of the ship, failing to gain any sort of balance as she futilely attempted to steady herself on the ship. The Kamaelic race had no experience with ships that sailed on water. Flying boats that soar through the sky? Yes. Ships that sail the seas? A terrible no.

"Master, you don't look to well..." the concerned Bear commented.

A terrible wave of nausea rippled through Linnda.

"Not again..."

Linnda got extremely seasick the first time riding a sea-based boat. She took the pleasure cruise in Heine in the past in order to get familiar with the region as a part of her mercenary contract. This same flood of nausea and dizziness led to some unfortunate occurrences that Linnda was fairly certain that the lovey-dovey elf couple that sat next to her on the boat weren't too happy for the remainder of that trip.

This time around, Linnda has gotten used to the swaying of the boat enough to not heave on the other passengers of the boat. However, she still felt very off balance...

"Ow! Watch it bird!" a human archmage snapped as Linnda's wing smacked her face.

Linnda gave up standing like the humans did on the ship and just sat down. "I should probably avoid anymore embarrassment or I could possibly be jumped," Linnda tought to herself as she averted the gaze of human onlookers. With the Kamaelic race claiming their rightful place as the servants of the Giants, they've been gaining quite a bit of flak from other races, especially from the humans.

"This is fun! The ocean breeze is so fresh and cool! The boat is just awesome!" The Bear said as she jumped around in the air.

Linnda pulled the bear down from the air.

"Ow! That hurt!" The Bear pouted.

"Shush, not another word till we reach the island. I think we've might have attacted enough attention!" Linnda whispered to Bear.

The other humans on board were indeed eyeing the Kamael suspiciously as they began to circle around her.

"By Hermuncus' Arrse!" Linnda muttered under her breath."

Now they were really looking for a fight, Linnda knew even if she fought them all off, the captain would still blame her for causing ruckus and would throw her overboard...not that it mattered since she could Recall, but she would be stuck at Rune Harbor yet again with no other possibilities of reaching Primeval Isle until the next week.

"Did you bring wolfie like you said you would? I want to play with him again!" the Bear playfully whispered to Linnda.

An idea popped into Linnda's head. Linnda gingerly pulled out the Fenrir Necklace that was attached to her belt and put it beneath her bottom.

"You know, we don't see birds that often around here in Rune," barked a gruff looking warlord.

Linnda kept her eyes locked with the warlord's while keeping her left hand behind her back.

"I'm thinkin' how great of a decoration your wing would make in my trophy collection. Much better than the prizes from Muertos where you were from."

Linnda drew the Wynn pentagram within the circle of the necklace. A faint glow of blue started to illuminate her back.

"Whatever fancy magic trick you're doing won't save you from the thrust of my spear!" the brute shouted as he made a jab toward Linnda.

Linnda immediately rolled over and a blinding light illuminated the boat.

"What the..."

A large silhouette dashed through the air and grabbed the neck of the warlord's spear.

There was heavy growling.

It was a Snow Fenrir biting down onto the warlord's spear.

"Heh, that it? This stupid mutt? I'll kill this sloberring excuse for an animal with one..."

The Fenrir snapped the warlord's spear between it's massive jaw. It then circled back to Linnda and snarled at his master's offenders.

"You think that stupid dog can..."

Before he could even finish the Fenrir bit hard into the warlord's forearm.

"Aggghhhhh Einhasad's bloody piss! Now you've done it, I'm gonna..."

The Fenrir bit down even harder, stopping the warlord dead in his tracks.

"You know, this "mutt" just snapped your spear in two. Imagine what he can do to your arm," said Linnda as she smirked deviously.

All the color drained from the Warlord's face.

"O-o-okay! I-I-I give! J-j-just, get the wolf off my a-a-arm."

Linnda gave a nod and her Fenrir released it's grip. The warlord scrambled back in fear as the other humans began to back off.

Linnda smiled with satisfaction as her pet returned to her side, growling aggressively to fend off any would be attackers. The smile immediately faded as one of the ship's crew members came on deck.

"Bloody bastard of Shilen! the 'ell happen'd here?" the crewmate exclaimed.

"That dammned bird hard her mutt attack me for no apparent reason!' the warlord roared.

The Fenrir barked even louder, silencing the rabble-rouser. The crewmate came close to the wolf. The Fenrir stopped growling and immediately began whining, giving the crewmate an endearing look of an innocent puppy.

"He don't look like 'o bad dog," the crewmate said, "Look at the way he begs for attention!"

"Sit!"
"Shake!"
"Roll Over!"
"Play Dead!"
"Awww good boy!"

The wolf rolled over and exposed it's belly to get rubbed. The crewmate oblidged.

"He ain't a bad pup at all! Girl, this be your pooch?"

"Yes, he is. Had him since he was a wee baby," Linnda replied.

"Oh he's a bright young laddie, it's good to have a friend like him to protect ya!"

The crewmate stopped the belly rubs and then turned to the other passengers.

"You bloody sons of drunken dwarves," the crewman roared, "this innocent girl y'all decided to attack for no reason...shame on y'all. I hear any more of this sort of rubbish, you'll be thrown overboard! You'll be PISSS dammned lucky if the captain lets you go with just the doubling of your ticket price!"

The crewmate turned back to Linnda.

"Sorry for the trouble lass. Kids these days, jumpy as hell and like to pick fights like bloody Ketra Orcs."

The big man let out a sigh.

"I'll tell the captain, and he'll waive your ticket fee."

"It's alright, my weak sea-legs caused this ruckus anyway," Linnda joked.

"Well mistakes do happen, but people should be a lot more willin' to let things go. Gettin' angry and full of Varka dung just causes a lot of bloody trouble. I'll report to the capin either way. Just take it easy for the rest of the voyage."

The crewmate turned and headed below deck. Linnda let out a sigh of relief then turned to her wolf. He looked up at his master and began panting with affection. Linnda gave the Fenrir a nice rub around it's neck.

"Wolfie!!!!! <3" the Bear shouted as it flew toward the wolf.

The Bear immediately began to cuddle with the Fenrir, which immediately laid on its side so the bear could get comfortable in it's fur.

"Could you run an analysis of him?" Linnda asked, "It's been a while since I've brought this fella out."

"He's so fluffy and soft...Oh! Analysis! Right!"

The Bear closed her eyes, analyzing the Snow Fenrir's current state of being. She opened them and started:

"Snow Fenrir:

Parameters:
Extremely high melee and speed capability.
Has an extreme sense of smell and hearing allowing the wolf to aim critically for a target's vital spots while having high evasion itself.
Dominates opponents with its growls, barks, howls, snarls, and roars inflicting a variety of debilitating mental effects.
Is extremely vulnerable to strong direct hits.

Lore: This wolf would be classified as a Snow Wolf that has become exceptionally rare in the wild. However, Linnda's exceptional care of this wolf has allowed it to become the mythical and extremely deadly Snow Fenrir. Linnda found this wolf as a puppy, abandoned and injured in the outskirts of Shuttgart. Poachers were to blame. Regardless, Linnda took the little pup under her care, nurturing like a mother would a child. Due to this, an incredible bond of loyalty is exerted by the Fenrir, which is willing to die for his master that cared for him in his greatest time of need. Through intense training and honing of his natural instincts, he has become a beast of legend: the Fenrir.

Well that's done," the Bear concluded, "Now I want to play with him!"

The Fenrir barked while wagging his tail. His eyes locked onto Linnda's sent the message that he wanted to cuddle. Linnda closed her eyes and shook her head in amusement. "He's still a little puppy despite the vicious facade he puts up." Linnda took the invitation and nestled herself into the wolf's underside.

Fluffy and warm. The rest of this voyage should be a relaxing one.
And the PokéBear strikes again :p

You have much more sense of the rhythm of the storytelling than I do, I particularly enjoyed the quarrel with the other passengers.

The swearing by the name of Hermuncus... XD

Fixed it, should flow much better now.

Thanks. I want to use images a lot of the times, but getting the image time/setting/lighting/etc. is so much effort that I get super lazy just thinking about it. I'll insert a lot more images sometime in the near future to make the stories a lot more visual.

Glad you liked the swears. Sailor talk is always fun, no matter what the setting is.

I want to see your fictions here or in your own topic soon! It would be nice. I have an excellent plot line coming up now Lindvoir is coming up. I know who I want in my party to fight against the dragons!

Yeah, I noticed so by the first installments, where you put images along with the written description of the action. It's still a writing style, though more oriented toward a visual novel than a traditional novel.

Here I bring to you the "Battle of Primeval Isle - Part I". (edit: Cleaned a bit more)

"Welcome to Primeval Isle," said Dinn with a sarcastic tone, "Where prehistory meets modern history. This is the most god-forsaken place you'd wish never existed."

The man himself looked worn and rugged, probably after years of living on the dinosaur ridden jungles of Primeval Isle. He looked down at the passengers who just unloaded from the ship from the dock. Linnda looking around saw some recently dug up entrenchments and fortifications put up around the wharf's parameter. Linnda remembered her last visit here was another mercenary contract with Marquez. It regarded befriending the Elroki. Linnda did somewhat of a poor job and managed to spark up some hostility between the humans at the wharf and the Elrokian people. Perhaps this is the result of it. Perhaps it is something else.

Linnda was standing on the pier looking toward her right toward the right. The cave that led to the Lost Nest from the wharf was blocked out by a large boulder, while the path leading to the plains was heavily barricaded with wooden spikes and crossbow traps. The beaches followed the same suit, being heavily fortified by entrenchment and wooden barricades.

Seriously, by Hermuncus' name, what in hell happened here.

"Most of you guys are here on mercenary contract," the rugged man said as he inspected the crew the just unloaded, "Therefore I expect no questions from any of you and I expect you all to do your jobs."

Dinn then turned to Linnda.

"For those of you visiting, Primeval Isle has turned into hell after the appearance of that red moon in the sky. You will find nothing here regarding trade and historical research. I would suggest that it would be in your best interest to turn tail and leave."

Odd, Linnda recalled Tiferet just came back here with all the research she needed. Maybe she was on better terms with the Elrokian people.

"Umm, excuse me... I just had a colleague who had some historical research on the Elrokian people..." Linnda started.

"They nothing better than the dammned dinos!" Dinn cut her off, "They've mutated. They've changed. They're something else now and they only are driven by their insatiable appetite to destroy. Not just that, they're **** intelligent too. The other day we say them attempting to create a ship on the plains. We drove 'em off and scuttled the **** ship. We can't let those beasts get off the island. Who knows what kind of chaos they would cause if they were able to reach Rune."

The response caught Linnda off guard. Looking into Dinn's eyes she saw weariness from years failure and recent loss.

"I apologize, I didn't mean to make you angry..."

Dinn's expression eased. The grizzled old man let out a sigh.

"Don't worry so much about it. Sorry for snapping at you lass, just years on this forsaken rock can turn the mightiest of men into shells of their former selves. Hell, I don't even know what was going through my bloody mind thinking that this place would be a business miracle."

He let out another sigh

"Just keep your nose out of trouble, I don't want any more lose anymore than what I have," he wistfully replied.

He then turned to the mercenaries again and began to give orders

Linnda began to reorganize her thoughts. Something doesn't add up. Tiferet went to this Island JUST a week ago and she has research to back it up too. Linnda took out her colleague's notes and began to shuffle through. Nothing about this at all. Though she could read through the rough work that her bias and faith toward Shilen was obviously there. Even after Shilen did that to her own children, Tiferet's faith remained strong. It baffled Linnda. Linnda respected the Giant's due to their benevolent self-sacrifice to spare a race from total annihilation. Even then, when the Spicula were only tools and the Mesticula were mere infants in the space of time, the Giants saved the latter from total doom at the cost of their own lives, unlike Shilen who had forsaken her people in her pursuit of burning revenge. Linnda could never understand Tiferet and her faith.

Well now, all that mattered to Linnda was accomplishing the task of destroying the gods in order to preserve the lives of everyone else.

"Believe in yourself. This is what will allow you to change the world."

These were the words that echoed in Linnda's head when she awakened by Hermuncus. She was destined to become a Feoh Wizard, but after the vision she was given by him. The vision of that bloody field, littered with corpses...

No, now's not the time to live that terrible vision, Linnda thought to herself.

Linnda had to focus on the task at hand: find out what the hell is going on here.

"Now for you mercenaries, you will be separated into squadrons of five. They will consist of a medic, two casters, a summoning pointman, and a brawler. Pointman gives suppressive attacks to give the casters ample time and room to hit their marks. The brawler will be up front taking hits and grabbing the enemy's attention. Any wounds that come up should be healed by the medic! Do you men and women understand me?" Dinn barked.

"Yes sir!" the hirelings replied.

Linnda turned away from the battlements and focused on her notes.

"Bear, check the time an date of when this parchment was written," Linnda told her Bear.

"Exactly a week," the Bear responded with a scared looked, "...Linnda, I'm scared. I don't like the feeling of this place."

Linnda looked up at the bear and saw, for the first time, a frowning Bear.

Linnda realized that something bad was probably going to happen. Bear never frowned. Not once.

Linnda took the bear into her arms and held her tight.

"Bear we'll be fine, I promise," Linnda whispered as she stroked it's fluffy head.

Bear only gave this uncertain look back to Linnda as the Kamael put the bear into her bag.

"Don't come out. You'll be safe."

Linnda put the parchment back into her back and walked toward the barking man.

"...You will all get archery support from the Kamaelic Forces once they set foot on this land. They've got a new surprise for us it seems. They said this island will be held, even if it costs them their lives," Dinn continued.

The hell? The Kamaelic Trickster Division is getting involved. This is something extremely serious. Maybe she should head back to Rune.

Linnda shook her head.

No, I must persevere.

"Dinn, how would I be able to cross these barricades?" Linnda asked.

Everyone turned and looked at the Kamaelic girl.

"You must be bat-sh*t crazy to go beyond these gates girl," Dinn said with a steady tone.

"I do what I must," Linnda responded holding a firm tone.

Dinn looked at her as if she was a lackwit. He then let out a sigh.

"Climb-over the rocks over there on the beach side. It's a tough climb, but it will get you in. Can't say anything about getting out though."

Linnda remembered Marquez and Singsing, who were advocating to coexisting with the Elroki people.

"What happened to Singsing and Marquez?"

"Marquez went off to live with the Elroki, never to be seen again."

"And Singsing?"

"Dead. Mauled and ripped apart when we found him. He was trying to find Marquez. Dunno what got into that old kook," Dinn said with a shaking voice.

Linnda swallowed hard. This island is a powderkeg waiting to explode.

"When did he leave and when did you find him?"

"He left about three days ago. Before departing he gave some information to a Dark Elf girl who was also doing the same sh*t research you're doing. Now this was two days before the fortifications. After we found his mauled body, we holed up. If he was killed by dinosaurs, nothing would be left so we're **** sure it were the Elrokians. If them Elrokians were willing to kill their own friends in that manner, then they've lost all reason and logic. That probably meant they'll be attackin' soon."

Linnda was still trying to get a grip on the situation, but at least she knew that what she was up against was something terrible.

"Thank you for all the information and good luck to you Dinn."

As Linnda turned her back, a hand pulled her back and turned her around.

"Kid watch your back. Don't make me repeat another Singsing," he said as tears welled up.

Linnda nodded as she headed toward the rock cliffs. Linnda only knew that this was only the start of her difficult quest to eradicate those who play with lives.
!!!

I like this twist, it inspires my own plot bunnies :D
Yay bunnies!
Next Blurb. A bit of progression, but very little action. (Edit: Cleaned)

Linnda landed with an elegant click as her heels made contact with the ground. She jumped down from a high cliff from the beach-side after leaving the Primeval Isle Wharf. She turned and looked back at her entry point. It was high. Really high.

"Nothing to grab on to either. Looks like I'm going to have to find another way back," Linnda said with a bit of exhaustion.

Linnda turned back to the Lost Plains. It looks the same as the last time she visited though the absence of dinosaurs was a little discomforting to Linnda.

"No signs of life within your vicinity," Bear said quietly, "I think you should be careful."

Linnda nodded as she took note of the time. Almost sunset. She would have to get what she needed and get out quickly. From what she was told by Dinn, the Trickster Division was getting involved on this island and that would mean a lot of business.

Bloody business.

Linnda started her hard march toward the Elrokian Village. It would be there that she would probably find clues to what was happening.

"Linnda, be beary careful...I don't think its safe around that village," the Bear pleaded as she poked her head out of Linnda's knapsack.

"I will Bear, just stay in my sack and everything will be fine."

Linnda continued moving forward toward the village. Without any cover, Linnda could be overwhelmed very easily, should would have to remain vigilant on the plains.

Linnda slowly inched her way through the plains taking cover in any sort of brush she could find. She kept on looking around. No signs of Dinosaur and Elrokian life. This was really strange. Linnda then stood upright in the open, startling Bear while she took a look around. There was no sign of life whatsoever. Was it a trap?

"I still don't sense any life signs. If there were any dinos here, I'm pretty sure I would have sensed them by now," Bear said nervously as she looked around.

Linnda quickly gathered her thoughts. They're not here. Why though?

"Because they're mounting an attack through the Lost Nest," a rough gutteral voice responded.

Linnda quickly turned around, caster in hand, pointed into the face of a crocodilian humanoid.

"No I am not your enemy, though I probably should be after what happened to our people," the crocodilian said.

"How did you know what I was thinking?" Linnda retorted.

"You had this bewildered look on your face that was asking for my answer."

The crocodilian scratched chin.

"My name is Karakawei. I am and Elrokian who used to serve as my village's gatekeeper. That is until our goddess awakened."

"Your goddess?"

"Yes, the very goddess that put that bloody moon in the sky and turned my people into monsters."

"Shilen!?"

"Ah yes, that goddess! The one, who is so consumed by her desire for revenge, has used her own children as new blood for her army."

Linnda was perplexed. She gave the Elrokian a puzzled look.

"Come with me. We have much to discuss and little time to talk."

"Where are we going?"

"To what's left of my village. It isn't much, but at least I can attempt to make you comfortable."

Linnda was very wary of the reptilian humanoid. For all she knew, this could be a trap.

He continued to walk forward toward the horizon, failing to notice Linnda wasn't following him.

Linnda furrowed her brows. This was the only lead she had to discover what happened on Primeval Isle.

She pondered again for a moment.

"Are you coming or not? You're slower than a stinkbug, and that's surprising for someone with long legs like you!"

Linnda nodded and began to follow him through the plains. What choice did she have?
Oh oh oh, I wanna see ~
(Minor Edits)

Linnda made her way through the tiny islet village as she followed the lead of her Elrokian host. The intense setting back in the wharf starkly contrasted with the calm of the plains. The Kamael felt uncomfortable.

"You know I was expecting you for a while now," Karakawei said as he made his way into one of the smaller shacks that dotted the islet village.

Linnda followed the reptilian into his shack. The interior was simple. In front of Linnda were shelves filled with all sorts of magical potions, mixtures, concoctions, voodoo, charms, and fetishes that were normally associated with tribal people. To the left was a few crudely constructed stools which stood opposite to a wood and straw bed. The shack was very quaint, but comfortable. Well for Elrokian standards Linnda assumed.

"You were, now were you?" Linnda asked in response.

"Yes, I will explain that to you in a little bit. However, as a host I should, at the very least, provide my guest with some refreshments. After all your journey here was very difficult with the anxiety from being exposed," the Elrokian responded calmly.

Linnda could only nod as the Elrokian shuffled in front of the shelf and pulled out carved dinosaur skill filed with a bright green fluid.

"I know the humans like sweet drinks. I'm not too sure about...whatever you are, but I would assume that you all have similar tastes being that you associate with each other often," the Elrokian said as he handed the skull to Linnda.

Linnda looked at the skull suspiciously.

"This isn't some poison or something?" Linnda asked.

"Nonsense, it's juice squeezed from a native plant. It cures paralysis and shock. It should easy your nerves and leave a sweet taste in your mouth."

Linnda stared at the green drink. Bear poked out from under Linnda's arm and sniffed it.

"I think it's okay Linnda, drink it," the Bear said.

Well bottom's up. Linnda drank it all down in one gulp.

It was sweet and thick.

Linnda suddenly felt calm, as if all the recent events just melted away from her mind.

"There! You look like you've just experienced heaven!" Karakawei said laughing as he sat down on his bed.

Linnda noticed from his gait and movement he was fairly aged. Linnda followed and took a seat in front of him.

"Now where should I start. Ah! I should probably start with everything that would allow you to trust me fully."

Karakawei pulled out a necklace which was a cross adorned with the goddess of light from a small pouch on his side.

"This is a necklace of Einhasad. Marquez gave this to me before he passed away. He said his daughter gave it to him for protection as he embarked on his journey to explore this island I call home. He gave it to me as a gift for the strong friendship we developed while he lived with our people. This is what protected me from Shilen's influence."

Linnda examined the glittering piece of jewelery. Indeed it was blessed by some sort of light or protection magic.

"So Marquez is dead?"

"Ah yes, from old age. A moon before my people were changed he died peacefully. Thank goodness he passed away before all of this. He would have been crushed by the loss of his dear friends."

Linnda put her head down in respect. So that's what happened to him.

"Now to explain the origins and purpose of my race. Do you know the origin of everything, including the gods?"

"You're talking about the shattering of the globes by Einhasad and Gran Kain if I'm not mistaken."

"That's exactly it. Now the Dinosaurs were created from the existence of ether. This was completely by chance and without control of the gods," Karakawei said as he took a breath.

"However, it became apparent that these dinosaurs were dangerously vicious and powerful as they preyed on most living creatures and conflicting with the kruma as well as the giants. This is when the Elroki came into existence. Shilen, before her fall, was a wise goddess who managed to trap all the dinosaurs on this tiny island. However, she had other duties to attend to as the water goddess and the dinosaur threat was too big of an issue to ignore. She created us the contain the dinosaurs so that they wouldn't wreck havoc on the world. She then sealed our tiny island in another dimension as precaution," Karakawei said as he stopped to sigh.

"We had her favor, as we were the protectors of the world from this threat. She supported us and blessed us with power and weapons to combat the vicious dinosaurs. However, when she fell, so did our power. We lost what was originally given to us as blessing and we were pushed out of the Lost Nest into this tiny islet. She fell silent to our prayers and we were left as a dying race," Karakawei said.

"So because your people are from Shilen..."

"She could use us if it is her will. Which was what precisely happened. Thanks to Marquez's effort, our race was growing back and we were slowly regaining our former glory."

Karakawei closed his eyes and shook his head.

"Then Shilen awakened. Her eye that rules the sky did something to my people. They turned aggressive, vicious, and violent. They soon mutated, gaining hardened carapaces and wicked claws and teeth. The set out to conquer the dinosaurs, then the world for their goddess as a testament to their faith to her," Karakawei said.

"Why didn't you follow? Why didn't they kill you?" Linnda asked.

"Aside from Marquez's pendant, my ancestors contacted me through a dream. They told me that my people were lost and doomed to destruction and oblivion. However, they told me I could save the pride of my people through a winged girl. This was why I stayed behind while my brothers, filled with bloodlust, went to conquer the Lost Nest," Karakawei said as he took another breath, "I don't know how I survived. I looked totally different from them by the time they went into the Lost Nest. Perhaps they thought I was just too old and I would expire soon. Whatever the reason, I'm here now to give you what my ancestors told me to tell to you."

"You were told by them to tell me something? That seems hardly believable," Linnda responded with skepticism.

"Believe it or not, I will tell them what they have told me."

The elderly Elroki took a deep breath, then started.

"The winged girl is the soul of the fallen innocent, friend of Laksis. She will experience a battle on our land that will shake her. She will remember after she sees the wind of the west. She will lead a band of allies. One of the Wandering Tribe of which she knows of well and earned the title "Sweeping Wind". One of the Lost Tribe whose bitter resentment toward the blood of the earth will earn him a spot in the alliance against the darkness. One of Maphir, who has lost the way, but still has the favor of her goddess. There are others we do not know of, but it is of these 3 that the winged one will befriend and be her allies till their demise."

The Elroki paused to scratched his chin then let out a sigh.

"I'm afraid that's all my ancestors told me. As far as I'm concerned with the prophecy you must go back to the wharf and aid in their preparations against the Elroki attack. I can use the last of my strength to warp you to the docks."

Linnda was in a daze about what she just heard.

"Wait, what about you?" Linnda asked in confusion.

"It would be nice to join Marquez in the paradise he described as afterlife. After all I've been through, I would like some rest."

Linnda stood up about to stop him. The Elrokian began glowing a soft blue.

"Good bye winged one. I'm glad were able to talk. I will pray for you in paradise that your tale will meet a happy end."

Before Linnda could do anything, everything turned back.
Cleaned. :D
Very, very nice so far :D
Thanx...I'm procrastinating right now. I should write down my fiction, but I lack the decent will to.
Ah-ah, I feel your pain. :(
Done. Cleaning will be soonish.

The light faded and Linnda suddenly found herself in the middle of the Primeval Isle Wharf. It was about dusk. Before she could even gather her wits, a circle of torches surrounded the healer.

"Freeze! No moves!" a hoarse voice shouted.

Linnda froze in surprise.

"By Einhasad! It's the Kamael who went out into the Lost Plains all by herself!" said a familiar voice.

Dinn made his way through the crowd of mercenaries to greet Linnda.

"My god you're back in one piece! How did you make it out alive? Never mind that! Do you have any reports on what the Elrokians plan to do?"

Linnda was still in a daze, not knowing what exactly happened and not knowing exactly what to take in

"Answer me girl. Have you any news? What have you seen?"

Linnda stared off into the distance

"...an alliance, a respected ally, a jaded warrior, and a lost friend..." Linnda murmured.

"What? You're babbling nonsense girl. Are you okay? Have you lost your wits?" Dinn asked in both concern and impatience.

"No, a prophecy given to me by the Elrokian gatekeeper," Linnda replied.

"Does the prophecy have to do anything with the wharf girl?" Dinn asked intently.

Linnda's mind started to piece itself back together. Suddenly she remembered the Trickster Division's involvement, the gatekeeper's prediction about the attack, and the Elrokian intent to conquer in the name of Shilen. It all made sense now."

Linnda let out a sudden gasp. of shock

"What? What is it lass?"

Linnda gave Dinn a hard look.

"Storm the wharf, slay it's inhabitants, and set sail for the mainland for the glory of Shilen," Linnda uttered.

Dinn let out a face of shock as he began to fathom the severity of the situation.

Linnda now began to process and understand Tiferet's research on the Elrokian in relation to Shilen. Although her studies were based on historical theory and conjecture about the ancient culture, Tiferet's studies on the potential power of the fallen goddess has proven itself true. However, what Linnda shocked Linnda the most was the fact the dark goddess was able to tap into the Dimensional Space to seal away a dangerous race.

The Kamael have the power of the Giants and their technology to boot, but Shilen can play the same game that Linnda's race has been playing all along.

Linnda quietly swore to herself. She's two steps behind in her goal to eradicate Shilen and her ilk now that most of her theory about the fallen goddess has been proven wrong. However, Linnda did take solace in the fact that both Shilen and the Giants were able to deceive Einhasad and inflict massive losses to the God of Light during their respective conflicts. To kill Einhasad will end the implications against her own kind and the giants once and for all. This was Linnda's ultimate goal. The destruction of the other gods were secondary in her agenda (except for Shilen who hampered Linnda's progress toward the elimination of Einhasad and posed a threat to all of Adenian existence).

Deep in thought, creating new theory and clearing old ones, Linnda failed to notice an old friend who approached her with utmost amusement.

"Well if it isn't Linnda of the Soulhound Elite," a familiar voice quipped.

A female Kamael soldier donning the mithril pauldrons and the heavy visor of the Trickster Division walked behind of Linnda. She gave Linnda a pat on her shoulder, who suddenly jumped like a scared elpy.

Linnda turned around to see who touched her and saw the familiar smile.

"Yatae?" Linnda gasped.

"In the flesh. I'm surprised to find you here of all places," the bow-woman mused.

"I'm just as surprised," Linnda replied with a nervous look, "Why are you guys getting involved? We usually don't get involved with worldly affairs unless..."

"Unless there is a danger that threatens the existence of our race and the legacy of the Giants," Yatae finished.

Yatae gave Linnda a smirk.

"Hmm...I don't recall the Hierarchs calling the Soulhound Special Forces to deal with this issue," questioned Yatae.

Linnda pulled out a symbol of the Aeore she received from Laksis through Hermuncus' blessing.

"Hermuncus put me on a special path for the preservation of our people and our creators," Linnda replied.

Yatae eyed the insignia intently

"Linnda you always were a cut above the rest. There's always something different about you. Something that distinguished you from the others during your service in the Soulhound Division," Yatae mused.

Linnda looked down in embarrassment. Yatae laughed

"But you're still that shy bookworm I know and love, despite the cold act you always put up," Yatae joked.

"..."

A loud pop could be heard from the ocean. Linnda turned to see many ships shooting off flares in the distance sea.

"We got special permission to get some human ships and outfit them with our ballista to give artillery support to our frontline," bragged Yatae, "Whatever we're fighting, they won't pass."

"So you guys do know about how our situation is," Linnda murmured.

Yatae turned and gave Linnda a bittersweet look of pride.

"We wouldn't truly be Kamael if we didn't now would we."

As the two friends looked at each other with tense, bittersweet gloom, the old Dinn approached.

"Commander, your forces are almost set up with their garrisons and towers," Dinn interrupted.

Linnda turned to look, and indeed the Trickster Division has set up their floating towers of stone, suspended by ancient technology. They've even made a makeshift dock, similar to that of Soul Harbor, that a number of towers and blockades sat on, protecting a stockade that had its back wall to the sea. Linnda has always been impressed by the art of quick deployment the Kamael race have mastered after centuries of training.

"My men and mercenaries, what should they do?" Dinn questioned.

Yatae gave Linnda a sad smile.

"Protect this healer at all costs. She is the historian who will forward the news back home to our respective leaders so that they can take action. Whether this wharf stands strong or is completely overrun, she must survive so our people can prepare for a possible conflict."

Linnda gave Yatae a distressed look.

"You're going to retreat if things get bad right? Our race cannot handle any more losses right?"

Yatae looked down and let out another sad smile

"We need to hold the ground here at any cost..."

Linnda stared at Yatae for what felt like an eon. Yatae looked up at her dear friend again."

"I'm sorry Linnda, you know the agenda of our people, its something..."

"We cannot fail, no matter the circumstance or situation," Linnda concluded.

As Linnda trailed off into space, Yatae nudged Linnda and held up her crossbow. Linnda noticed that it looked different than a normal crossbow, having a cylinder under the stock of the weapon.

"Our reports indicate that the Elroki will probably use the now tamed dinosaurs as fodder. That means hordes of enemies. The higher-ups had us prepared. These weapons are straight from the Black Anvil Guild bring the innovation of automatic fire. This weapon can fire three bolts every second for ten seconds before having to reload the cylinder."

Yatae let out a sigh.

"The higher-ups said this would be a big battle. They gave us everything. Cheiroballista artillery. Even Arbalest snipers for this mission. They won't pass."

Linnda fell silent. She now knew this is an all or nothing battle.

Yatae, noticing her good friend's distress began to pull out an item from her fany pack. She grabbed Linnda's hand and put something in it with her cupped hand.

"Remember my lucky ribbon I would wear all the time during training, the one my mother gave me before she passed away during the Muertos Uprising?"

Linnda looked at the ribbon, tears began to well up in her eyes

"I-I can't..."

Yatae gave Linnda a pleading look, with a deceiving smile that hid sadness.

"If I don't make it, please remember me by this. Remember my lifelong wish to rid the world of senseless bloodshed and violence," Yatae's voice slowly faltered.

"Captain! We got herds of dinos running toward our location from the Lost Nest opening!" A lookout shouted from a nearby watch tower.

Yatae turned to the lookout.

"Lock 'n' Load! Tricksters we got ourselves an elpy shoot here. Line 'em up an mow em down!"

Linnda turned to see the Kamaelic warriors prepare their wide arsenal of weapons, nocking crossbows, loading bolts, and taking aim among other things.

"Use your automatic weapons to mow down these beasts. Save your bigger bolts for the Elroki!"

Yatae then turned to Dinn.

"Bring Linnda into the stockade. Do not let her out into the field of battle. If we fail, make sure you send her back to Rune with the Sayune ward we've established on the roof of the stockade. After it is used, the ward will self-destruct and implode the stockade, wiping out most if not all life here on this dock."

Linnda could only stare blankly into space as the world began to haze around her. The marching of footsteps slowly faded into a blur and the action around the dock began to slow down as was slowly pulled toward the stockade. Only Yatae seemed to exist in the moment. Her friend's back turned to her as Yatae slowly walked away from Linnda. Linnda wanted to shout, but nothing came out of her throat; only silence.

Yatae stopped mid-step. She turned her head and gave a smile before turning forward.

Linnda eventually lost sight of her friend in all the chaos of preparation in the wharf. Dinn pulled her into the stockade and shut its gates.

It was the last time she would ever see her closest friend.

Behind that visor, were there tears?
Bump. I've cleaned up all posts from Wolf's Introduction to Yatae's introduction. I hope any readers who read this will enjoy.

I plan to finish at least the Primeval Isle saga before I decide to continue my fan-fic.
Nice :)
Thanks. :)
That was a good read \o/
Great to hear. I'm working on the conclusion of the PI saga. I'm glad you mentioned PI, cause it gave my story a sense of direction. Basically you made me really think about Linnda's legacy as a healer in relation to the giants and Shilen. Shilen is playing even a larger role in game and ever before so it should be no surprise that Linnda's path intertwines with that of the dark goddess, both indirectly and directly.

Anyway text will be coming up soon, will be working on this and an essay.
Eh eh, I loved PI's series of quests, and being partial to Shilen I couldn't ignore that on my character either :) Glad you had some plot bunnies hopping around :)

....still waitinnng

...some more waiting. ..

I'm getting impatient I have no stories to read! D:
Thanks for the support. Currently RL things are keeping me from posting and cleaning the story up.

I have a draft atm that's like 2/3 done, but I'm going to work on it when I get a lil bit more breathing room.
This is a setup for the next few stories. Its taking a while, but hopefully I'll get to finally concluding the dino arc.

A thundering boom echoed through the cold room where Linnda sat waiting in silence. Echoes of battle were heard through the walls of the stockade. Shouts of commands and orders from the Marksman met with the bestial roars from the enemies they faced. Dinosaur or Elroki, Linnda couldn't tell the difference.

It’s been about a day since when the invasion began. The Kamaelic forces held off the first assault, but were forced to fall back to their towers when both the Lost Nest and Primeval Plain barricades became littered with Dinosaur corpses just as Yatae predicted. The Tricksters have taken a defensive position toward the southwestern side of the wharf, holding off wave after wave of attackers with grueling endurance. To make it this far, Linnda thought...

Looking down at her palm, Linnda laid her eyes on the ribbon Yatae gave her. Lasting peace, the end of constant strife and senseless battle. Yatae's dream of a better world.

Linnda let out a bitter chuckle.

Ironic, given the fact her race was made for the sole purpose of war and the destruction of another race.

A race that has constantly brought about the deaths of millions of innocents because their petty conflicts and irrational emotions.

Linnda clenched the ribbon in her hand. Linnda swore the death of the gods.

She swore the death of Einhasad whose unjust wrath and jealousy claimed the lives of many innocents.

She swore the death of Shilen whose frustration and selfishness claimed even more innocents who were underserving of death.

Death to them all. For Yatae's sake and her own.

Linnda looked up and saw the restless warriors scattered around the hollow stockade. Their tense feelings diffused an air of silence throughout the fortification. Some held expressions of nervousness, some of worry, others of boredom.

Linnda felt guilty. Despite her ability as a healer to recall, she knew that given the chance she would rush to Yatae’s aid. The lives around her were being sacrificed for her own safety. They never asked for this.

Linnda shook her head.

No, she mustn't think like that. Her duty lies to the Giants, to her race, and to the protection of this world. Her fellow warriors are fighting for the same cause she was; only fulfilling their duties, nothing more, nothing less.

Linnda sank deeper and deeper into thought, until the shout of a messenger cut through her reflection.

"We've got news! They wharf has been held! The Elrokian forces are making a retreat!" a voice said, cutting through Linnda's thoughts.
A sudden wave of shock hit Linnda. Yatae! She might be alive!

"Don't let the healer out though! The commander said that its still unsafe outside, and her forces need to take a check of losses and reevaluate the field for another confrontation," the voice said.

A smile arched across Linnda's face. Yatae! She made it!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yatae looked over the beach from the keep. The acrid smell of blood and sea water flooded her nostrils as she looked over the dusk bathed battlefield. Hundreds of dinosaur corpses littered the shoreline as her women searched for stragglers. The lack of Elrokian corpses surprised Yatae as they were the ones leading the assault. However, her reports did mention the numbers in Elrokian tribe were very few in comparison to the amount of dinosaurs that lived on this island. Yatae sighed. I guess they were truly going extinct like the reports mentioned, she thought to herself.

“Milady, one of your soldiers has arrived with news,” said her attendant.

Yatae turned and faced the younger corporal who stood facing her.

“Captain, the shoreline has been scoured and any survivors well swiftly neutralized,” the said said stoutly.

Yatae turned to her subordinate.

“Good, tell the other women to start cleaning the beach up. Use a dark magic fire to incinerate the corpses.”

The soldier gave an uneasy look.

“That hardly seems practical Captain.”

“Do you question the orders of an officer, corporal?”

“N-no, ma’am, I’ll get right on it.”

The soldier scurried down the stairs.

Yatae sighed again. The soldier was right. It was impractical and served really no strategic purpose to clean out the corpses when their mission was simply a defensive extermination. Yet, Yatae couldn’t bear to show her best friend the amount of bloody work that her division had done.

Despite the cold efficient exterior Linnda presented herself with, Yatae knew deep down that Linnda was soft and very kind.

Yatae looked over the beach once more and saw that her women began to clean up shore. Yatae turned to her attendant.

“Tell Linnda to come out after dawn, I would like to see her once more after we’ve cleaned up.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Linnda made her way outside, she immediately noticed the beach was stained red. Yet, there were no corpses, as if phantoms fought here then vanished the next day.

“Were there any injured?”

“Only three, and they had minor injuries. Nothing a bit of elixir would fix.”

“Ah, thank goodness! I was worried that you would be…hurt,” Linnda worriedly said.

“Linnda, I’m an elite soldier. An elite trickster for that matter. Do you think a few overgrown lizards would prove to be the death of me?” Yatae said as she let out a smirk.

“Err, I never thought you were unskilled…its just that, well…”

Yatae let out a laugh.

“Linnda you’re definitely something different. Despite your distinguished career as a Soulhound, you’ve never quite fit the mold of the typical Kamael soldier,” Yatae said as she adjusted her wrist guard, “Perhaps you’re too…fluffy,” Yatae teased.

Linnda only looked down, her face full of embarrassment.

“Now, eherm… that ribbon. I meant to give it to you as…err a certain gift, but seeing that the circumstances have changed, I would like it back,” Yatae said looking away.

Linnda looking at Yatae let out a burst of laughter.

“You’re just as bad as me when it comes to these situations Yatae,” Linnda said as she giggled.

“Shut up. We’re friends and all…so I thought…you know… we need to do this sort of mushy stuff once in a while,” Yatae said awkwardly.

Linnda laughed again.

“Yatae, as much I am odd, you’re just as strange.”

Yatae flashed a smile.

“Then I guess this is why we’re friends,” Yatae said with a smile.

As the two friends exchanged warm smiles, a whistling sound started riding the breeze. Yatae suddenly looked away.

“Wait, that sounds like…Oh no...”

The two look up and see a hail of meteors hurtling toward the wharf.
*Imagines a giant Final Boss Veigar throwing Primordial Burst on the shore*
*Imagines a giant Final Boss Veigar throwing Primordial Burst on the shore*

Spoiler Alert: Veigar is actually the dragon of darkness and son of Shilen.

I'll probably be posting more stories now I've decided I'm going cold turkey on gaming for the next year and focusing whole-heartedly on school work and being a music stockpiler.

Already finished the next part. Will post sometime tomorrow.
On a serious note, the name of the Dragon of Darkness has been revealed by some high level raid bosses (his heralds) across the map. Unfortunately I keep forgetting it...
“Incoming!” a soldier shouted.

Linnda stared blankly at the meteors hurtling toward her. She then felt a push and suddenly found herself on the ground under Yatae. Linnda heard several explosions around her. She couldn’t see past Yatae’s bosom, but everything just sounded really bad.

“We have hostiles storming the dock…we have to activate the detenator or..."

The soldier was cut off.

“Rally to our defensive positions, we cannot let them take the wharf,” shouted another commanding officer.

“Linnda. Linnda!” Yatae shouted as she shook Linnda.

Linnda suddenly snapped to attention and stared into Yatae’s intense gaze.

“Linnda you need to get off this island now! The dock will be lost and they’ve destroyed our detonation device,” Yatae said sternly.

“T-there’s a magic rooting me to this wharf, I can’t recall back to Rune,” Linnda said nervously shaking.

“D’arvit!” Yatae swore as she backed away from Linnda.

“Listen, Linnda you need to survive. Your knowledge of Shilen and your research are pivotal in our fight against the gods. This is not just a fight for our own lives, but the lives of all mortal beings in this world. You must survive so that our sacrifices are not in vain.”

Yatae looked around to make sense of the ensuing chaos.

“Linnda, I need to go rally my troops and keep these beasts from leaving the island. You need to protect yourself. Promise me you’ll stay alive! Promise me!”

Linnda stared blankly into Yatae’s eyes. “This can’t be happening,” Linnda thought to herself.

“Linnda! Now is not the giants’ d*mn time! Promise me you’ll survive!”

Linnda shook her head then gave Yatae a hard look.

“I promise.”

Yatae then looked back toward some of her fighting soldiers.

“I need to go rally my troops, hold that ribbon for now. I promise I’ll be back.”

Yatae ran off to aid her women. Just as Linnda was about to call out to her friend, a guttural roar vibrated through her body as she turned to face the huge axe of an Elrokian warrior. She clenched her eyes shut as the Elrokian brought its axe down.

Linnda then heard the clang of metal then opened her eyes. Lumi was in front of her blocking the massive axe with her shield.

“Master, now it’s the time to fight,” Lumi said as she threw of the Axe and eviscerated the unfortunate Elroki.

Linnda shook her head and stood up. Linnda looked toward where Yatae ran, her friend inspiring her soldiers to fight the losing onslaught. Linnda then closed her eyes for a moment.

"Yatae made a promise to me she'll be back."

She picked up her caster then pulled out her Fenrir Necklace.

“I made a promise to Yatae and now I intend to keep it.”

She opened her eyes and with five swift motions, Linnda drew the Wynn pentagram into the sand with her heel. Linnda jumped back from the symbol as pentagram began glowing blue. Linnda threw the necklace over it. There was a bright flash. Linnda’s wolf stood where the pentagram was moments ago.

“Bear come out, I need your assistance with battle perameters.”

Bear immediately popped out of Linnda’s bag ready to help.

“Seeing my master all pumped up and serious makes me want to fight too,” the Bear said as she began to punch the air adorably.

Immediately Linnda looked around and noticed she was quickly surrounded by many Elrokian warriors.

“Bear, where is the highest concentration of hostiles surrounding us?”

“Northeast, roughly forty more filing in,” the Bear quickly responded.

Linnda then immediately slammed the pommel of her caster into the ground. Dark energies pulsed through the ground then surfaced around her, immediately impaling the surrounding Elroki.

As the first wave of Elroki fell to the ground, Linnda twisted toward a cluster of reinforcements and immediately pulled her caster upward. The Elroki were immediately crushed with dark energies.

Linnda gave a quick glance toward her wolf, which then immediately launched itself into the fray in front of Linnda.

“Lumi, cover my flank. Make sure no Elroki gets me from behind while I deal with this stream of fodder.”

“Yes, Master!”

Lumi then immediately jumped into combat, smashing the face of an Elroki with her shield while gutting another with her sword.

Linnda watched as her wolf gracefully dodged the Elrokis’ vicious attacks while retaliating with those of its own. Linnda then began to wave her caster toward any stray Elroki who tried to flank her position, impaling or crushing them with darkness as soon as she had sight of one.

“There’s just too many of them, we can’t hold!” a soldier shouted.

“We must hold this wharf, these foul beasts cannot be allowed to escape into the mainland,” another shouted.

Linnda suddenly was filled with a sense of dread. “Will I die here?” she thought to herself as she looked around the battlefield. Her sisters in arms were fighting valiantly, but still were falling quickly to the vicious numbers of the Elroki.

“Linnda!" Lumi shouted.

Linnda snapped back into attention, then whirled around and blocked the sword of an Elroki warrior. Linnda clenched her teeth as she dug her heels into the ground against the overwhelming strength of the Elroki. Her feet began to sink deeper into the sand as the warrior pressed its weapon even harder.

Linnda closed her eyes and focused.

“Saha give me strength!”

Linnda felt a surge of power as she opened her eyes. The ground around her flared orange, burning with the symbol of Laksis as she shoved the sword off her caster, then immediately kicked away the unbalanced Elroki.

Linnda pointed her caster toward the Elroki, then crushed the Elroki’s head with darkness.

The healer paused again to take a look around the battlefield. Death, blood, carnage. Everywhere.

“This is the vision I gave you so long ago during your Awakening child,” a deep voice resonated.

Linnda looked around again and saw her vision of bloody conflict, death, and sadness.

“If we let the gods have their way, this is what will happen to us. Destruction and oblivion. Now child it is time to realize your fate and seize your destiny.”

A brilliant light began to shine. Linnda couldn’t keep her eyes open as the light consumed her.

“What is going on?” Linnda thought, “I’m I dying?”

The light began to shine even brighter and Linnda shut her eyes as the light completely consumed her.
