You dont have to buy anything first of all thats why its FREE TO PLAY. Also you got to understand just because Lineage 2 is Truly Free doesnt mean they run the servers for free, they have to make income somehow and adding temporary items like these help because they know that the PvP players will buy many many stones to try to get these augments even though the chances of them getting it is RARE. Stop crying and play the game and have fun like games are supposed to be. You act like this will affect your gameplay because OMG someones got underwear and I dont.

NC West has been providing Lineage 2 experience to the western hemisphere for almost 9 years now. The game is long past its prime and its been in a steep decline for years. NC West is making a terrible mistake of ruining what's left of L2 with zero care about the community, bots and the state of game in general. They can't make money out of L2, they can only sustain it. Lineage Eternal and other NC East's projects are behind the corner and NC West keeps brutaly ignoring customers and fair play for the sake of few dollars. L2 can be sustained without the game killing L2store in order to keep the players. No one will even think about playing another game provided by NC West. City of Heroes fiasco is what awaits L2. In order to leech a little money from its L2 players NC West is giving up on a much larger profit on later projects which no one will want to play. Turning L2 into pay2win and ignoring the pleas of the vast majority of its player base NC West is a publicity harakiri.

It is actually possible to be competitive and not use the store. It just takes a hell of a lot of time and farming and luck. Those underwear won't impact a player's ability that much, it's like the cloak. It's not really gonna save your life in a situation. Plus you have to also consider the chances on the augments are probably low. Look at how much it costs to remove the augment. Not exactly a cheap game of chance.
I have said it before,some people have bigger budgets for this stuff and spend lots of money on adena and L2 shop items. I try not to spend over $25 a month. Does my budget put me at a disadvantage? Probably,but if I sat and worried about what everyone else is buying in game then I probably shouldn't be playing then. Whining about how it's not fair really isn't valid. Unfortunately for the kids who don't have a full time job they can't spend the money we do. I find this game does entertain an older age group. Hell we got a guy age 60+ in clan. The guy is hilarious and a good player. He can also afford 7 day xp runes. I however can't,but that doesn't give me the right to cry about it.

+1 to this because the only people who cry/complain are the ones you do not have the cash to spend. I never spent a dime here but I still enjoyed playing, minus the massive bot problem, and I am 42 years old with a full time job.

Basically this. The game has been on a downward slope since they made it F2P. They add in a new power item every few months, and it almost always involves Korean random so you can gamble your money away that much more. True most of these items don't make a huge difference in open pvp (except the super boss jewels and the +16 weapons), but NCSoft knows that and that's why they make them usable in Oly where it forces people to seriously consider this ****.
I'd take a $15 a month subscription and a cash shop with vit only items any day over what we have now.

That's not the point, nobody cares what you spend your money on, it's an argument over what should be in game. If they decided to put the "sword of 1 shot- kill anyone in game in one hit without karma (limited 7 day item)" in the game tomorrow for 50k NCoin, would you think it's a good idea? What about "GM super haste in a bottle, 2 mil patk and stats all to max (lasts 1 hour)" for 10k NCoin? Being able to afford it, which I could, still doesn't mean it's a good idea for the health of the game.
Those blessed jewels they were "giving away" with the vegas style gambling game wheel are being sold on the market for about $2,400 USD per jewel. The cost to play competitively continues to rise to an absurd level, either locking out more and more people, or just driving others away in disgust. Anyone who has played on a large private server has likely seen this same thing happen, and at the end of the day it always ends badly.

I know a player age 72 who recently got 99 and he doesn't bot. BUT he is a millionaire irl so yea he can afford all the runes and items he wants.

Bold part is why they make it usable in Oly. Shirt with cleanse, 3 second underwear w/ cleanse, 7 second underwear w/cleanse, tali, racial means 5 cleanses in an Oly match (if the 3 and 7 second underwear augments have separate cool downs, which I imagine they would).
That is game changing for some classes. Again, if this weren't usable in Oly then it'd be w/e, but they know that and figure they will again force ppl to make a decision to pay or become less competitive.
At the end of the day it's NCSoft's call on what they want to put into play, but I don't think it's good for the long term health of the game. At least DEWR is obtainable in game, some of this other stuff is not.
I might get myself the underwear honestly. I haven't bought anything in awhile and it's a little boost on stats so it's not a total fail item. Will it be a mega impact? No absolutely not.
You can be level 99/99 spending USD 0. You can get great R99 Items +++ enchants, boss and epic items +++ and use its for USD 0.

An MMO is meant to play as an RPG...if you haven't forgotten. It's not a competitive game like LoL or SCII.
You play how you like it, there's no such thing as winning or losing. PvP is just one aspect of the game, and depending on how you approach it you can be a winner.

If you're bucking heads with a cheater/hacker you always lose. This is given in almost every game. It doesn't take a brain to realize you're wasting time and not having fun. Being top in this game means you have as much as a life as the top players on the server, which is pretty pathetic. You don't want to stoop to their level either, have some dignity.
You've never been with the old vets of L2, some of use were real hardcore PvE/RP players. It's fun when you play it like this since L2 is very rich lore-wise, one of the most extensive RP games I've played all my life.
Again, if you're not having fun, you're not playing the game right. Winning isn't everything. I learned that the hard way after getting permabanned from League of Legends for being hyper-competitive and nasty to my teammates after losing.

Are we playing a different game? L2 was much better from OB/C2. I knew a lot more friendly people in game and it was pretty open and empty. Simple and clean fun PvP and PvE were a lot more involving, but held a lot more reward. C3 onward they made the game more accessible to casual players. GoD everything got whacked.
L2 wasn't as bad as it is now. You think bots were bad back then? They had little incentive to do RMT in a small game that you had to play $15 per/month. Little profit compared to what's rampant now days. You think the top players were bad back then? They were bullies compared to the gangsters that run the servers now.

And yes, the players were way more friendly, than they are now, but the game itself was not complete, PvP was a mere dream 'cos most of the ppl were carebears, XP was coming slow, very slow and only nolifers (and ocasionally botters), would care to go out for random PvP.

1) I bought NCcoins (to be competitve as said before , no coin no competition) you know nothing about me/my transactions with NCsoft, and you start trashtalk with no reason, nice way to be.
2) I just say what is going on : No cheat, no ebay, or no nccoin => no competitive , just a fact, no rage, no QQ, no cry here .
3) I payed NCcoin so i wont cry about it, and at the same time i really dont want to play only with buyers :) cause i dont see fun in a MMORPG if only botters legal/illegal buyer can play the game ( Massive => need many ppl to be fun :p )

A typical opinion of an ignorant, clueless newbie. Many people, including me, can pay a lot more than you will ever be able to. But that's not the point. I bought some underwear last night, They aren't too terrible for the money. Everybody does what they want to do. I didn't think they were as bad as the power shirts. You didn't have to enchant them up with chances to fail to get a skill. It's a nice little boost in stats and an augment.
I miss running everywhere because there where no gatekeepers, you always met more people that way. From OB to C2 there was a ton of pvp, and yes the xp was slow, but it forced you to meet new people and join clans and enjoy the game. Im not saying the game isnt fun, hell I have fun everyday both with clan groups, clan raid, random raids, or solo, you just have to allow yourself to not take the game serious and you can have a whole lot of fun.
Im probably one of the people with one of the oldest NA accounts, and I still have fun, when I stopped having fun I took a looooong break. Sure people use the store(s), and they have all the right to use them, doesn't bother me one bit, I have never had over 100m adena, but that hasn't prevented me from getting gear (albeit late) I don't let it bother me. Hell, sometimes ive spent an entire day in game just chatting in clan chat, or with friends, just for a change of pace. If the game starts to feel like a job, then it's time to take a break.

Your right, my bad. Went through my old screenshots, just couldnt afford the ports. I remember when soulshots/spiritshots had no weight, and you had to press the button everytime you attacked tho. Good times.
It was funny when they added the weight to the shots and most people couldn't move because of the penalty. That was the first time I saw my weight gauge go over 100%. some of my friends used stuff to hold down their ss button so they wouldn't get cramps.
