I guess Draco pot's will be removed from reward list, and blessed epics/earth wyrm ring don't drop every 3hrs to random bots like was last event with Tauti ring.
Personally I feel I reap the most benefit from the free teleporting/no exp loss event then any. Iv been playing now for 6+ months and have not received 1 reward worth anything (bsoe/brez). I really hope my luck is with me at some time during this event....
There will be as normal draco gifts along with the shiny draco gifts too as before.
Prepare to farm eggs big time and also the bottors prepare your bot-trains to kick in action.

Are you joking? RMT sites and players will make the most profit out of this. Selling adena, accounts and items generates money for RMT to invest into Pay2Win events like this one and increase their profits.

People who make hundreds/thousands of dollars by selling Adena/Chars/Gear will use that money for Pay2Win events like this one to gain additional items and sell them through RMT.

They(Me included) are upset cuz now not everyone can participate in the event. To prevent botfarming, they could just made the "rewards" untradeable. Its not like ppl arent buying from NCStore, but now they seem to want that either you buy everything there or you can go die.

This, I bought and opened almost 20k eggs last event. Got a few dyes, some DEWR if i recall? Don't remember the other rewards, but that was 20K EGGS, have fun paying for 20k eggs now :D

now that's the player's fault right there, they shouldn't buy adena! So it's the players that RMT that have caused this event to be an event for bots! NCSoft has banned many bots recently . . . RMT keeps the bots coming back, everyone that does that is to blame imo. :eek:

well.. other problem is with nccoins, every time i have to write ticket to them that i want to spent some money, someone from support read it, then make auto answer that "ah you need personal help, so i sent your ticket to other team", and close my ticket. i wait answer for 1week, later i check my ticket and no answers, just status changed - closed... pro support.
but anw there is a bright side of this event. no $$ for bots and farmers in xp spots.
Ok, my previous post in this forum were trolling post. I get sick of people always ranting about bots this and bots that and how every event is an event for bots no mater how the events are made. Even where players have to spend $ on NCcoins someone turns it into another event where only bots will get the best opportunity in the event. Geez . . .
For NCSoft, this is a fail event in the eyes of the players, imo, because the 1st Draco event was awesome! Everyone enjoyed it! E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E.!!! People have been looking forward to the second Draco event ever since the last Draco event ended. There's been a lot of excitement and talk about the 2nd Draco event how much fun it will be . . .
Think of it as a young child hearing the icecream truck around the block! He hears the music and run homes and is excitedly shouting to his parents "The Ice-cream tuck is coming, The Ice-cream tuck is coming, The Ice-cream tuck is coming!!!!" His Mom gives him a dollar and walks out to the curb to wait on the Icecream truck. The child is jumping up and down with excitement! He selects an ice cream cone! He unwraps it! The Icecream truck pulls away from the curb, the child looks up at his Mom with a big joyous smile because he finally has his icecream, he accidentally tilts his icecream cone and the icecream falls in slow motion to the dusty sidewalk . . . that icecream is THIS Draco Event.
I was actually looking forward to grinding today and getting some cool event items, just for something different you know. W/e though.
I remember back in the day I useto enjoy seeing and participating in events, but now all these events are nc coin only events.
Kinda destroys one of the more fun opportunities of the game.
I hope they wise up and just put blessed earthworm rings, etc, in the shop for like $5000 nc coins, and change the events back to the way they once were.
Since I've came back to l2 the only events I've seen are nc coin only events.

I'm also a 100% legit player, and I count on ncsoft banning bots. I don't count on them making events absolutely unattainable for everyone just because there are so many bots.

Firstly shame on you this was not a decision made by the korean team at all, this one is pure North America.
Secondly for all of you thinking bots will not benefit from this event your correct.
They will not spend a single dime on this game they use it to make money not spend it. So they will not be buying eggs they will be still farming there adena and selling it to you as usual.
Events like this were for the slim chance of your average player to get something, nothing amazing just something to have fun with.
You won't get the necklace or the rings, why would they give something like that away? noooo they rather you go get it yourself (hah yeah right)
or do without it like the other 99.9% of the people on the server.
But you might get a nice hat or some scrolls but at least it would be fun right? well by making it a payable "event" you took that away also.
I agree to keep the servers alive you need some income and i am sure you do well from fancy underwear and shiny weapons stones, but the only people you hurt from something like this is you average player not your bots or even your op gamers they will continue regardless.

If this is an attempt to get not paying players (like me) to spend money on your servers you guys are completely wrong. In fact if this make me do something is to leave this servers and go to Innova where you are still able to enjoy some free events.

Best is to NOT buy any coins anymore. This event is a slap in the face. Only the rich ppl (aka bots) will profit of this event.
But because there is no drop of this eggs even the BEAR and other scrolls won't go down with price in AH/Market. Usually an event is good to get some new Scrolls and other stuff but this time it will be only ****.
BTW I don't understand why they put this **** Giant scrolls in the drop list. They are crap most of the time. The chance to get +3 is too low to get a profit. DEWR/DEAR would be much better. Even for the market price.

It's a pitty that I spend some money in this game in the last month. It would have been better to spend it in RTM I think. I would be much better equipped.

events should be of something that can be celebrated amongst all users, with some benefits to those who choose to spend their money (ie. provide a means to purchase the required item via ncstore without the need of hunting to gain)
you really dropped the ball on this one, and the only excuse i can think of that can explain your need to make it so, is the fact that you didn't want the automated / RMT players to have an edge on the event (which in my opinion can be combatted very easily should you choose to send out GM's with the authority to ban the offenders in the first place)
oh and by the way...again with the translations. it should be LIN-draco and not LYN-draco, as the monster/npc associated with is in relation to the LINdvior update. you should really, REALLY hire someone better than what you have for translations

I again refer to the "PROMISE" ncsoft made when they first announced thier free to play marketing strategy, WE WILL NOT SALE THINGS IN THE STORE THAT WILL AFFECT GAME PLAY OR PVP EXPERIENCE..... LMAO you lied to us all at the very beginning and you wonder why your game is dying.
I for one will not participate in this event, as for my money goes for things in life that matter, like bills, and food, gas for my car, not for a game.
And even if I had the extra money to spend on this so called event, why would i spend my money on only a chance, If i was going to spend my money I would want to make sure i got a item i sought. With this event and NCsofts % of giving rare items in a event, I would be better off to take my $$$ and purchase adena through rmt sites and then just buy the item I wanted in game from a private vendor or Auction House.
NCsoft, you need to come up with a better way to excite and motivate your player base, the way your going will only end up in 2 things.. A boycott of all NcCoin by all and your forced to adhere to the player bases wishes and concerns, or a Boycott in all NcCoin and the closing of Ncsoft West's Doors.
If this is your way of trying to kill the game, your going to succeed, but it will cost you faithful players who will vow never to play a Ncsoft game again, so there will not be a NEW NCSOFT Cash COW as for all people who have dealt with this game will be lift with a bitter taste in the mouth and never ever go to a new game of yours. If you want to kill the game, then do as you did with citi of heros, which was a profitable game, and just announce your shutting it down, Im sure those of us DIE hard fans, can find a private server that is more concerned about its player base than you seem to be.
like most things in life, money is the solution. However that being said, i believe Ncsoft is alienating their own player base and grossly misjudged the amount of free flowing money that l2 players have.
This event is for customers (people who buy ncoin). Everyone else are browsers, they are good for business but bring in no profit. I have no problem with this event. Ncsoft must make money or no one can play. Just enjoy he free part of the game if you don't have money to spend. There is no point in acting like you are entitled to something when you are playing a free game. This is a nice way to reward the people who support ncsoft by buying ncoin.
Also for anyone wanting to try their luck at a boss jewel, I popped around 25k boxes before I got my anthy, 3 people in my CP either double or tripled my number of eggs eaisly because I had by far the least amount of draco hp/mp pots in the end out of all of us.

If you want to do something good for the bots prohibit monastery, Swamp, among others Stakato 10 billion of places.

This game used to be $15 per month. With how steep the grind in this game is and important every little advantage you can get in PvP is, NCSoft is making a killing at the player's expense. *Almost* forcing any average player to spend much more than before's free to play. Events used to be a thing people looked forward to. Milking players for money at every opportunity is a terrible thing. Events should be completely free and a gift to the player's that play and enjoy the game.
Not everyone can spend extra money. How imbalanced the NCoin "event" rewards, or purchasable items are is absurd. Not to mention many things the player gives money for is just being gambled. This game is hard enough to play by itself, it should not so highly reward people who can spend hundreds, or thousands of dollars at any given moment.
NCsoft: guys lets make an event a 100% nccoin event we'll make a bunch!

Been playing since closed beta, and lineage 1 before that. I can rightfully say
NCWest is just a trash company now compared to what it used to be.

If this is an attempt to get not paying players (like me) to spend money on your servers you guys are completely wrong. In fact if this make me do something is to leave this servers and go to Innova where you are still able to enjoy some free events.

I got all excited when I saw this event started today so I jumped on a newbie toon to do some farming. 30 minutes later I still had not gotten any eggs and figured it was just because of a low drop rate because of the time of day... Jump on the forums to learn this is an NCCoin event only...
I've played this game since May 14th, 2004 and I have to say that once this game dies I will never play another NCSoft game again. NCSoft you have never cared about your customers (yes I use the term "Customers" because I payed to play this game for about 5 years) and in all that time you have never showed an ounce of appreciation for the people paying your salaries.

Its a god**** event, people ARE buying their crap from L2store already. Its not like noone buys anything there anymore, i see no need in NCSoft placing their greedy, filthy fingers on events just to get some extra cash from all them "Oh, i make loads of money, im rich and i buy for 50% of my monthly salary" ppl out there.

Well, this was the last straw for me. I'm not so opposed to actually spending a little bit of $ to enjoy the game. I was willing to do that, and the fact that these items are only purchasable and not obtainable through normal hunting did not bother me too much. What bothered me was the fact i can see this as further proof that NCWest will officially close it's doors this year.
I'm far from a conspiracy theorist or anything like that. But if i add up everything that has been happening for the past year or so and i look at it from a reasonable point of view. Anyone with half a brain can see what is going to happen VERY soon. The only people who will probably deny this are the ones who have spent unreasonable amounts of money and time into this game. I'm far from someone who has not put too much time into the game, i consider myself to have accomplished a decent amount as far as gear goes. I've successfully obtained * the legit way * multiple epics including a Earth Wyrm Ring and a blessed R99 Weapon but all of this is not going to change my perspective on the state of the game. Anyways it's been fun ( kinda ). Going to jump on Innova to actually play a real Lineage2 until AA comes out. Good luck to those who remain until the final day.

I definitely don't disagree with not spending money in this regard, and as I said in my post i feel the same way about NC West. Most games i usually quit because the game itself gets boring or stale, it's sad that the company just runs things so poorly that people want to leave (not speaking of just this event in particular, but all the issues that have plagued the game for years).

+1, this is not an event and for the crazy ppl out there it took on average 20k boxes to get a rare reward during the first Draco event so do the math on how much you need to spent to get there with this store promo..

Look guy, no one brought an Earth Worm ring the "legit way" unless you got lucky opening event items. Even a blessed R99 weapon is pushing it. Earth Worm rings were selling from 18-40bil depending upon when you brought it.
Anyway I think, people will bored one day the only payable events.
This Draco event in this form is a waste of money event.
If you would try to force the NCwest to put to the L2 Store fair priced and useful, but not overpowered item, you have to buy just NCoins when the actual item exist in store and buy high amount of it, if they put to store after a crap item, do not buy it.
But I think, better if the NCwest just simply doesn't make events. I never was a real fun of the events, but these events nowadays just results drama.

That awkward moment when the game went from 15$/month->Free (with some ok events and NCCoin *perks*)-> terrible bot control, no active gms, broken petition system (though this has been down a long time)->events with NCCoin perks-> NCCoin only events.
They went to free to play because the 15/month wasn't sustainable. Fact.
This means they would have to have NCCoin perks to help sustain the game.
Making the game a complete NCCoin driven game (cycling back to 15/month type of style) will destroy the game again.
Let's take a game like League of Legends. This game is 100% free. You have access to all of the content of the game without having to pay anything. The perks you can buy are; skins for your toon (skins don't affect gameplay at all), IP boosts (ingame currency used to buy charecters / runes. You get IP regardless but the boosts just increase the amount you get per win. Only useful if you are impatient and have to have everything ASAP. Again this does not give any player advantages). Finally an EXP boost, getting to level 30 is doable pretty fast without the boost, its just if you are impatient. Again, non of the buyable items give any player advantage. Look how successful this game is doing / size of the playerbase.
Now look at NCSofts model. Most of the items in the shop offer a HUGE advantage, and most of the items aren't readily available in game.
Boss jewels do drop, rarely. Trasken ring isn't even attainable yet as no clan can kill it.
+16 items, yes destruction scrolls are "obtainable" in game through Moe, but the actual rate of getting them isn't even comparable to just dropping 50$ easy for a guaranteed one.
The reason they are switching to more and more NCCoin driven events are because the casuals are quitting and only the hardcore NCCoin buyers are remaining, so they have to keep milking them for all they can until they are dry. When people have finally had enough and they cant possible sell any overpowered item anymore. they will shut the servers down asap.

here is an idea, make events FREE, BUTTTTT have active GMs take 10 min on each server once a day to ban bots trying to farm the event. This would be a better approach.
and even a more simple way to do this is see the time spent in combat and check those toons first

Last i checked there is a 7v7 tournament being held that costs no ncoin. This takes paid peoples time to organise. Also if these items were droppable it would benefit people who don't work, play all day, and most likely don't buy ncoin. Leaving the people who have jobs, more likely buy ncoin and play less because of these jobs getting less items.
I was supporting this server almost 1 year...bought few thousands of NC Coins, but starting from today I am not gonna spend even 1$ for more NC Coins.
This event was last drop in the ocean for me and I have decided to go to Core.
Yet I am also donator I hate that way you are doing events last months.
Events should be for all and not only for donators!

Tournament has been done before, didn't cost anything there either.
Check the Korean site, see all those free events? See all the events period. Though its still a subscription, it still doesn't balance out how they are abusing NCCoin here.

Leveling- make 1%/hour normal hunting, with Ncoin 20%/hour. I could care less, it's a convenience fee. It's a nice perk for the store and while the boost is huge. It's not bad, leveling is easy if you have a group/do dailies.
SiegesHave fun in a siege where your enemy has +16 weps/+9 armor sets. (while obtainable form in game items good luck farming it in a timely manner).
OlympiadSame as sieges.
Now just the people that pay can have access to draco pots. Which were never a problem. There's always been access to pots, cp/qhp/CoC/oly. Though I could care less about them, or the actual event rewards.
It's the pure fact that NCSoft keeps getting greedier and greedier. They've made far more now through Ncoin than they did when it was 15$ month, but where's this money going? Their staff shrunk, their service is getting worse and worse. We're just getting regurgitated events that they cant even bother to update the info about, and now it's costing what should be a fun perk to the player base.
Since they keep screwing over their player base they'll be forced to have more and more Ncoin only perks until absolutely nothing in game can be done without them. Then they'll be forced to close the servers because a great game will have been turned into trash.

Give me an event that no one even complained or not liked? Even if the events were not NCStore based, the kids complained because they didn't get the goodies. So here we have an event that is beyond the reach of toons that are not awakened, it's not a "farming" event, it's not an event that you need to be logged into to get stuff and it's stuff that you can actually use. I remember busting up pumpkins in my S grade gear to find D grade armor enchant scrolls and C grade Soul Crystals popping out. This is exactly what everyone wanted. Careful what you wish for.... So what if the eggs are an instore item, you can still buy them off of other players. Perhaps the idea of "you have to spend adena to make adena" is not something that is grasped by everyone but sadly, it's the sign of the times. There will be events that are not tied to the NCStore. The battle tournement as an example. In fact, I am willing to bet that people still will play the game if there are no events at all. The game ran on the income of it's players and it will always be that way by catering to those who bother to purchase coins.
NCSoft and Innova are two different business models run by two different companies selling the same product. The beauty of free will is the freedom of choice. If it's better on that side of the fence, perhaps it's time to migrate over there.

So here we have an event that is beyond the reach of toons that are not awakened, it's not a "farming" event, it's not an event that you need to be logged into to get stuff and it's stuff that you can actually use. I remember busting up pumpkins in my S grade gear to find D grade armor enchant scrolls and C grade Soul Crystals popping out. This is exactly what everyone wanted. Careful what you wish for.... So what if the eggs are an instore item, you can still buy them off of other players. Perhaps the idea of "you have to spend adena to make adena" is not something that is grasped by everyone but sadly, it's the sign of the times. There will be events that are not tied to the NCStore. The battle tournement as an example. In fact, I am willing to bet that people still will play the game if there are no events at all. The game ran on the income of it's players and it will always be that way by catering to those who bother to purchase coins.
NCSoft and Innova are two different business models run by two different companies selling the same product. The beauty of free will is the freedom of choice. If it's better on that side of the fence, perhaps it's time to migrate over there.

yeasterday i wrtote some sms to friends that used to play here about draco event , they say they will come back, but when we saw that egs will be only from L2 store they delete L2 from hard drives. SAD.
I understand NC west need money but its not the way like this.
why not only agathion to be on NC store for about 1200 NCCoins
or large egs from store , small ones from drops (with a bit better rewards)

In your opinion, the first Draco Event was the "Bests" event. And that is your opinion. However, not everyone agree that it's "bests" because I, for one, did not participate in it. Hence my point, "Find me an event where no one complained about it". I'm sorry you missed the point. You say that the first Draco event was the "Bests" because it gave you could get mass amount of eggs to open. However, as I stated before, people complain that events that depend upon drops are events that bots have an advantage. NCSoft, in my opinion, has taken the event in a different direction. They made the event items available only in the NCStores. To purchase the item, you have to have NCCoin and be awakened. Once the item is purchased, the owner of the item has a choice to use the item or resell it to those who prefer to purchase the item with adena. So, in a sense, the event is still available to everyone. This, in turn, is proof positive that NCSoft is listening to feedback. How? People complain that the events that depend upon drops give the bots an advantage, so they made an event that is not drop related and still available to everyone.
I'm sorry you are having a bad time at our servers. I really wish that you would have a good time because it's a great game. But, it's a game that is run by revenue and to generate that revenue, an exchange of goods have to exist. Personally, I like the way things are set up. The event is not a blocked content. It's available to everyone. You can buy Draco eggs with adena. The game is truly free, you can level a toon up to 99. NCSoft doesn't sell character slots in their online store. Once again, NCCoin is not needed to participate in the event. The Draco eggs are tradeable, purchaseable, and useable with adena. Please go to your nearest AH and buy some eggs. :)

In anything i said in this thread i was not defending Ncsoft and i do think this is their dumbest move they have made since the dev team made bound weapons.I do however have a problem with people that play the game free and feel they are entitled.
This game has always been pay 2 win but it was a grey market and while many got away with the most blatant cheating, many got banned and would lose everything. The problem is buying your way to power was not legit and looked at as dirty and now it is services offered by the company.
In a way the community is seeing NCsoft as not only the company that didnt ever ban bots to the point where the game had to go F2P but now the game is one big cash shop and they are seen as the shady dude selling epic items for real cash that used to be the farmers they *banned*

This is exactly how I feel... I was looking forward to farming the eggs... I probably would have gotten some good items and then bought some from the store as well. Without at least trying out some eggs (few hundred which in last event was a couple hours farming) I would have gotten at least one item and then wanted a few more while I was openning eggs so I would have bought some.... The way it is now I refuse to support it so I refuse to buy any at all.

The reason people to play official server is not to learn how to play with bot scripts and how to make a bot party. The reason was that there was fun with new and interesting events. Now the events are gone.
In private servers has no bots, have online GM's that speak with players and answer online, and no events - like here except that here 95% of traffic are bots that isn't watch the game, there is no GM's not just online - NO GM's at all.

I've been waiting 8 years and the bot problem has only gotten worse. How much longer do I have to wait? Though the sad part is the in game economy can't function without them since drop rates are so bad.
Also you keep parroting yourself "you aren't required to buy anything." While technically correct it is fundamentally wrong.
Person A: doesn't buy Ncoin, has to wait for someone to buy them with Ncoin and sell them at an inflated price because they are a rare commodity.
Person B: Buys eggs and sells them in game under the guise of "creating a market".
It's far easier to spend a grand and make a couple billion adena, than it is to actually play the game and make a couple billion. Relying on drops, farming raids, random drops if you aren't in a constant.
Just because you're buying eggs doesn't mean that you're creating a market, you'd have to have people with a high amount of income to buy them in bulk, mainly people with bot parties.
As other people have said a better model would have been to have the old event + being able to buy them with NCoin. Firstly you appease the majority of F2P people because it's an event they can participate in. Secondly you offer the ability to buy them with Ncoin, which enables people to either buy them because maybe they don't want to grind and farm them or it's easier for you to just buy them and resell them in game.
It would also lure in people who don't really spend ncoin, but they farmed some eggs, got addicted to the gambling part of it and wanted to buy a lot more just for the chance to win.
I buy Ncoin just for some of the perks, but being forced to buy them for something that was an integral part of the game for the last 8 years? Nah.

Most of players know about the event rate and chances to get something good, and therefore know how much they would need to spend to get something. They won't spend any coin on that, prefering using their money elsewhere. However, a vast majority of player is facepalming seeing that.
Imagine the contrary now. What would happen if this event would be free ? Obviously no direct NC Coins purchase. But a lot of players would play the event, and be happy. (When customers are happy, they generally tend to spend few bucks in the store). Some player would abuse this by logging a ton of bots, but we wouldn't have the login problem we would have with an event like the Tersi one. You need to farm to get eggs. People having bot trains which have not been banned are already farming and their bots are already there. The others ? They start from scratch, and they will spend half the event leveling chars.
So, most of people would play the event, get some nice items or nice money from it. "Oh great I won some legendary dyes I can put on myself !". What would they want next ? Xp, xp and xp. Xp to level, to get an higher level and enjoy more those things. And they would be inclined to buy Xp items to xp faster. Because they were happy.

Leveling- make 1%/hour normal hunting, with Ncoin 20%/hour. I could care less, it's a convenience fee. It's a nice perk for the store and while the boost is huge. It's not bad, leveling is easy if you have a group/do dailies.
SiegesHave fun in a siege where your enemy has +16 weps/+9 armor sets. (while obtainable form in game items good luck farming it in a timely manner).

Now just the people that pay can have access to draco pots. Which were never a problem. There's always been access to pots, cp/qhp/CoC/oly. Though I could care less about them, or the actual event rewards.

I just honestly, would like a respite. I understand the "use l2 store to help maintain the game" mentality but seriously. Since last year, first the kaliel wish (which made you have to at least put in $5 to participate worth a **** so you could get the "free" 1 coin buffs) and the "wheel", and the "xmas promotions" (needa get the rudolph at the very least for the buff, another $5, then some more for the xmas outfits cuz, you know, you like supporting the game); then the St Valentine event which, again, made u spend at least $5 to get your "free" creme, then the pack w/ 100% rune which many bought cause really, it's $50 for a month long rune! cheap!
But wait no then there is the underwear, and you think, meh, it's $25 and I'm still supporting the game (ofc it's never just $25 because then you need to get a good augment on it). Now this egg event in which, it doesn't matter if you already spent 8 months worth of subscription in the last 2.5 months trying to "support" the game, you are, again, forced to put some coin in your account to at least get the "free" ones.
I'd just really like to get a respite from having to "support the game" to actually you know, enjoy my 100% rune, with my cute underwear and xmas outfit armor, having my rudolph out and hunting some -- finally actually free! -- event items.
Now of course, nobody is forced to buy the wishes, the xmas stuff, the underwear, the 100% rune and any creme and so on, but since many people did (and as shown by the many red weapons and lvl 99s many people have been supporting ncsoft for a long while) maybe, can we catch a break from the l2 store for once?

Well obviously if the servers were to stay open the best way to do that is to make more money, and since NCSoft did this they actually lost out in making more money. Infact, they made less money. Obviously I'm a pretty big nc coin buyer, hence my picture a few pages back, but I'm not going to go out and buy a bunch of nc coin cards just to participate in this event. Nor will I be buying exp boosts, drop rate boosts, etc, like I would've normally done for this event.
It isn't hard to comprehend why a business would make more money having a server wide event where everyone could participate in and the servers will be 10x more active with people vses a nc coin only event. I mean, are you and the other defenders really that stupid or are you just here to try and help nc soft save face, hence the friendship with the mods you got in your profile?
As far as bots go... let bots take the gambling risk of playing an extra lot during an event/battling with other bots for spots and them reporting eachother, and let me, the legit guy, not take any risk and play a lot and be rewarded with items/gear I wouldn't have normally obtained except through this event.

You should run for politician, you seem to have knack. This text advertises how everything is not restricted without paying (thus the Trully Free moto). If it was blocked to me, I would not have the option to buy anything.
Or should we hold NCsoft accountable for us blocking ourselves from buying items, since we wanna spend our dollars on something else?

Before NCSoft create the 'Truly free' idea their servers was completely empty and no one was playing here. Their global idea was to create the 'truly free' servers, make some free events, fill up the servers and then - 'STEAL AS FAST AS WE CAN'. Now we watch the final stage on their progress where ppl's that play'd here for about 2 years are forced to pay if they want some different in game.
I bet that they will make some free event like 'free teleports' or smt to close our eyes and then they will launch another payed event. And that will repeat untill server goes completely empty - AGAIN!

Nah, I am too honest and level headed to be a politician. As for a minority, yes I am a minority. I am a person who had an account before GoD/F2P. If you think about it, the events pre-GoD were pay to participate. You had to pay 15 dollars to participate in an event with out of date rewards and get to play a MMO with few bots, stable minded people that you can understand and leveled the old fashioned way. After GoD, you can play in an MMO with rampant bots that is populated by people that insult each other if a party goes bad all without spending a dime. I am a minority, yes, but I'm a happy minority because NCSoft is actually putting an effort to try to make a change for the better.

Extremely disappointed with these kind of events. NCWest is turning to pay to win. And I personally will never give a penny until this is fixed. Wondering how many people quit/switched to Innova after this event. My bet is at least 10% up to 30%. I was about to give up if it was not my constant party.

I've never been one to be an NCSoft fanboy over choices they made. If you look at some of my previous posts you'll see that I'm generally the guy that's at odds with the likes of Smittie, Dracha, and (from what I've seen of some of his/her posts in the past) I probably would have been against SrStupedHead as well. But this has to be one of the best points made in this thread.
It seems that people have the notion that events were supposed to be free, but they never were. Events were just something to take you mind away from the long and dull grind that L2 was, but there was always a 15.00 a month surcharge to participate. With the exception of the "Return to Arms" event, never has anyone who didn't pay the monthly subscription been allowed to log in for free and play the game when they made events. Now with GoD, you're getting the reverse, You can log in and play for free, but the events may cost you a few pennies. I have to be fair and say there's nothing really wrong with that. I made a post a few months ago where I was angry about bots and said I would no longer buy NCCoin and just play the game for free (I've since bought 2 cards :o). I didn't participate in the last event and I probably won't participate in this one just because I know the odds on getting something are extremely low. I'll still play the game, but I won't be mad about the company trying to sustain itself simply because I CAN STILL PLAY THE GAME AND NOT SPEND A DIME IF I DON'T WANT TO.
This event seems find and dandy, it's not like the last Draco event and I think that's what bothers the people that are bothered by having to pay NCcoins. I don't plan on buying any of these items other than the 1 NCcoin items. I prefer to spin the wheel :-) so come again with the Spin the Wheel Event!
if u ask me this event is quite on point, why start events because some freeriders beg for it because they manage to make 100-200m adena and feel lile waren buffet of L2 while the dozens of others who dont come here and brag about their earningsfrom the events because of their bot trains do billions and billions of adena destroying the value of adena and server economics? Their is still one failure in the event, the eggs been biught should be untradable because now those few ambitious wanna be buffets go buy eggs for 50$ and sell them to the certain bot financed toons in towns, giving the botters just the oppurtunity to turn their worthless adena piles into tauti rings and so forth? You want to play or make a market buying those eggs? then use them instead of turning them into more and more useless adena. Stop obeying to the cryings of few. Or keep selling the eggs to one random lvl1 toon and buy a "hard earnt" istina earring or the long awaited baium ring from the one sitting next to him.

To all the people that are saying that this event should be more like the first Draco (the so called best event ever), I disagree.
At the time I also believed that the first Draco event was amazing but in hindsight I think that, if anything, the first Draco event only INCREASED the disparity between players.
Think about it; Draco I, which was a pure farming event, disproportionately benefited botters and high end players. It flooded the market with Draco pots that either a) the botters kept, or b) rich players bought up. It put a small amount of high end epics in game which also went to rich players or bothers. This in addition to the other stuff that dropped made Draco I a farmers dream.
Now, it's true that players with the means (lots of $) can probably obtain the high end stuff from this event but at least the money they are spending is going towards keeping L2 running. Would you rather have another event that makes it even hard for regular players to compete, further enriches bothers, and extends the inequality in game; or would you rather have an event that may increase in game inequality but also helps keep L2 running?
OK! They make it free, but why they don't just give daily on every player 3-4 small draco eggs or 50 shattered eggs to get 1 egg? Just to try the event. If i'm a new player and i don't know what to do i'll not risk to buy. Also this will stop crying in-game and forum.

Free to play is not a sustainable model for long period.
It's showing, there's no bigger proof than this. If youhate this move, leave, don't look back. This game is only made for adicted gamblers, it's not adressed to anybody else, it's not adressed to you if you're not an adicted gambler. So, do yourself a favour and leave, rly, you'll only get more frustrated, this is just a snowball effect now.

Man, be happy you can login in this event. Just take it as there is no event going on, forever.
I just honestly, would like a respite. I understand the "use l2 store to help maintain the game" mentality but seriously. Since last year, first the kaliel wish (which made you have to at least put in $5 to participate worth a **** so you could get the "free" 1 coin buffs) and the "wheel", and the "xmas promotions" (needa get the rudolph at the very least for the buff, another $5, then some more for the xmas outfits cuz, you know, you like supporting the game); then the St Valentine event which, again, made u spend at least $5 to get your "free" creme, then the pack w/ 100% rune which many bought cause really, it's $50 for a month long rune! cheap!
But wait no then there is the underwear, and you think, meh, it's $25 and I'm still supporting the game (ofc it's never just $25 because then you need to get a good augment on it). Now this egg event in which, it doesn't matter if you already spent 8 months worth of subscription in the last 2.5 months trying to "support" the game, you are, again, forced to put some coin in your account to at least get the "free" ones.
I'd just really like to get a respite from having to "support the game" to actually you know, enjoy my 100% rune, with my cute underwear and xmas outfit armor, having my rudolph out and hunting some -- finally actually free! -- event items.
Now of course, nobody is forced to buy the wishes, the xmas stuff, the underwear, the 100% rune and any creme and so on, but since many people did (and as shown by the many red weapons and lvl 99s many people have been supporting ncsoft for a long while) maybe, can we catch a break from the l2 store for once?
It is events such as this that are helping the RMT to survive. Why would you spend NcCoin when you can get the adena cheaper from RMT and just buy from someones private store. NcSoft has about as much smarts as my daughters dead hamster.
NCWest stayed more than several months in the red, with money injected from Korea to continue. The servers didn't close at this time.
While the time is going, we can notice a decrease in service quality and observe an obvious reduction of the Lineage 2 team (Seattle and Austin)
This is not by putting an event where you should always spend NCCoins that NCSoft is going to get more money. Most of players know about the event rate and chances to get something good, and therefore know how much they would need to spend to get something. They won't spend any coin on that, prefering using their money elsewhere. However, a vast majority of player is facepalming seeing that.
Imagine the contrary now. What would happen if this event would be free ? Obviously no direct NC Coins purchase. But a lot of players would play the event, and be happy. (When customers are happy, they generally tend to spend few bucks in the store). Some player would abuse this by logging a ton of bots, but we wouldn't have the login problem we would have with an event like the Tersi one. You need to farm to get eggs. People having bot trains which have not been banned are already farming and their bots are already there. The others ? They start from scratch, and they will spend half the event leveling chars.
So, most of people would play the event, get some nice items or nice money from it. "Oh great I won some legendary dyes I can put on myself !". What would they want next ? Xp, xp and xp. Xp to level, to get an higher level and enjoy more those things. And they would be inclined to buy Xp items to xp faster. Because they were happy.
And I assume NCWest knows exactly what they are doing, and the flame they were going to see. See each Juji thread : directly locked. We both know most players that dont spend Ncoin regularly, wont do it because of a free event. All free events do is have tons and tons of toons logged in collecting rewards, and the ppl that cry on the forums about lag coz of it.
This was the best solution for everyone.
I'd rather not lag for 2 weeks just so some freeloader can have some fun with a free event.
and we all know the real issue & reason for your logic here is cause NCWest is unable/to lazy w/e to deal with the bots & script users that would cause the login etc. issues during a real event..
let's not pretend that's not what's going on here as well..
last draco event like tersi had maxed out servers cause certain ppl farmed it hardcore with bots and used scripts to open the thousands of rewards, now how hard would it be to login and banhammer such bots or check logs to see who has been hatching eggs near perfectly for 100+ times in an hour hmm ?
but no obviously making it a store promotion is the way to go as it's profit & less cost as no increased GM activity required aka Win : Win by NCWest logic.. too bad it also drives away disappointed customers.. guess that was the trade off they were willing to make, cost risk analysis wise.
Honestly I'm just disappointed myself as I was looking forward to the Korean events but as things are now I have lost faith we will ever see any of those without some sort of NC Store connection, making them not real events any more :(
I can honestly say that I am enjoying this event. I don't have to grind to get the event items. I don't get annoyed watching the bots farm in the prime spots for the event items. I can log in to the game and enjoy it at my pace. Partake in an event that drops relevant and useful items or don't partake in it at all and sell off items to help the economy. And finally, I understand why people like to make kids cry. Makes me giggle and proud to be a Capitalist Pig Dog American. :D
If you want an actual balanced gameplay where you can join and still be able to compete without spending ANY $ i'de go to Innova ( core ). Here if you wish to be a competitor your going to need to drop a serious amount of $ and/or play to the point where Lineage2 WILL be your life. And errr...that's sad? Ive been a customer since April 2004 and there has always been Bots/RMT but not to the extent that there is now....I mean seriously +19 blessed weapons and +9 armor sets? Call it what you want but your not competing with that unless your gear is somewhat similar and even then after you drop your absurd amount of money on the game, you still need to factor in the scripts your going to need to have to compete in PvP/Olympiad/CoC. And just pray you dont **** up and get banned and all your money goes to waste. NCWest is a gamble for your time/resources to the fullest. If NCWest had went the route Innova went with a more monitored Lineage2 store and monitoring of these bots and scripts. Then they would have had a much larger (active) player base. As of now you can say what you want but NCWest Lineage2 servers are nothing short of a High Rate private server. While Innova has a balanced Shop / active players/ little to no bots and the grind is somewhat shortened because of the PA services so people are more enticed to spend their time on there.
I've enjoyed my time here before it went F2P but i'm going to stick with Innova. So i don't need to worry about constantly dropping $ and there is no ******ed highly enchanted weapons unless you consider +6 ******ed. Good luck to anyone staying on these servers.

Still no reply from an official member of NCWest. Think that says much on how L2 is at the moment.
I would like to officially with draw my negative comments I made earlier in this thread. I poped off due to disappointment in what I thought the event was vs. what the event is. In the future I would like to see that when a post is made like this one that the info be included as well, even now, clannies that heard by word of mouth are being disappointed that the event is the way it is. Having the info when the announcement comes out would be tons better.
It's fine, its all good. I may log back into Lineage 2 in a few months; idk I feel it's time to move along
