Reasons for pay to win:
- Event is designed only for players with NC Coin, Pay to NC and NC will reward you.
+ No servers overload of new players hunting like a bot
+ Players can log in the game
+ Combat RMT (indirect)
The problem now is the amount of adena in RMT players bag.
Buy adena to buy items is cheap. Spend U$500 you can earn adena and buy a Antharas Earring, a "good prize". To receive a Antharas from event you need lucky, no one grant with U$10.000,00 of NC Coin you will be reward with Antharas Earring.
This is a pay to join event, try in next time show the chances to players win rewards. Will turn the event more atractive.
If you are so unhappy just leave... but you won't. We will see the same types of posts complaining about something else soon enough.

You have no clue about how a company works do you? Every single company wants to make money period. There's no escaping. You can come to the forums every day, and complain about something else in this game. But face it. You will never ever be happy until you stop caring about what's so bad about this game and start enjoying what's good about this game. If you can't find anything to enjoy about this game, leave.
Of course I hate the events too, that's why I don't participate. I could also come to these forums and complain about every event, but what good would that do me?

It's not fair that the event can only play if you pay, is supposed to be free, you can buy upgrades with real money but the event is exclusive to real money is really unfair and pathetic.

Yep, this event is NCCoin driven. But so what. You shouldn't be surprised. This game was originally subscription based and those fees paid for the upkeep of the server. Now the subscription model turned into free to play with the option of purchasing extras. Listen, if NCSoft was to just let it go and don't offer things to bring in money, the servers will die as quickly as many private servers. Of course, they will make events to turn a profit. It's the reason why you freeloaders still have servers to play on. You still have a choice, and try as you may to complain about it, people will still buy stuff with NCCoin. Here is a fun fact that will blow your mind..... Yes, bots do buy coins and in turn, they pay into keeping the servers alive. The servers that you currently play on are being paid for by bots. But, eventually those Bots do get banned and their money is wasted.

First, it gives people a chance to get in xp parties and second brings people's war tags outside of safe zones which encourages pvp. With a store only event none of that happens. In fact, if people were out xping for drops there is every chance that xp item purchases would increase since finally people could find something other than a kartia.

I'm finding that most of these events have been converted to lottery types. No more exp bonuses, buffs, mini-raids, campaigns, PvP. Just buy whatever format the lotto ticket takes, and pray you win. I suppose all previous events were a lotto, just there was always a side benefit as well. Now theres just NCcoin dumps for those with disposable income.

If they made the eggs dropable, then we get the freeloaders complaining that the event is made for bots. I prefer the eggs in the store to weed out the riffraff lazy kids from our server. Besides, what better way to combat RMT than to make the items tradeable.

Bots being a problem simply because NC makes them a problem. You don't need to keep every event compartmentalized to a web store.
I do believe there is an event that is coming up and it's not tied to the store.
And yes, I think the store does weed out the lazy. My definition of "lazy" in L2 are the people who dodged the official servers because they didn't want to pay 15 bucks a month to play legally. And when the game went non subscription, we have droves of "lazy" people coming here and mucking up our servers with expectations of fast leveling, easy adena, PK'ing abilities and frequent PvP. When the retail end of the L2 kicked in, these people either leave or get angry. I prefer them to put up or shut up. L2 was retail before GoD, and it will stay retail afterwards.
Wait until you have to pay NCoin to attend a siege, or enter an instance, or raid a boss, or level up...

The events wouldn't be botted out IF NC would actually DO something to permanently block bots. Of coarse they made it a cash shop event, this was the answer to the complaints.
And yes it DOES pay to complain, I wrote a complaint this past weekend to a company via facebook and they are sending me a free item. I didn't ask for compensation. I just expressed my frustration and they agreed and offered me a free product.
If you aren't happy you should express that to the company by all means,but obviously the customer service here is deaf and blind.

biz model etc. is all fine but do not call it an event as it's not accessible to all players, only to those willing to spent money..
call it a sales event or a store promotion w/e just do not pretend it's any where near the original Korean event which was actually done ingame and available to everyone that could login..

Really? Want to compare NCoin purchase histories? I'm pretty sure, sadly enough, mine will top yours or at least be up there with it, but that somehow doesn't seem to make right what NCSoft is doing. Are you really that dense to think that this is sustainable? NCSoft took what was a $15 dollar a month game and turned it into a $100-200 dollar a month experience in trying to keep up with the Jones. Now, not satisfied with bleeding money out of fools for DEWR, they have turned to ruining events with this ****. Keep beating on your chest about those "couple bucks" you spend each month, it'll do you well when they're shutting down the server because even the other paying customers got tired of the BS.

I'm ranting and I DO spend money also, so honestly I think you need to zip your lips up. I however am choosey on what I spend my money on. If it's something you get a chance at getting then no I won't buy it. If I'm spending money on something then I want a said item, not a chance at it.

Yeah and to each his own. What I can't understand is the folks who think that a business needs to give everything away for free. And the squabble over calling it an event is laughable. Sure, you go ahead and define what you want "event" to mean and go start your own game around it. No one cares.
Spend money or not, your choice. Enjoy the game or not, also your choice. Quit griping and lets just play, or not. If you don't agree with the company's tactics, then leave and they'll get the hint soon enough, it's that simple. But in the mean time, you know that complaining won't change anything. The eggs can be trade, that's true.. But tell me how is possible for normal player to participate in this event? It's another bot event cuz bot's have all adena and NCoin items in this game. Normal player can buy up to 50 eggs and then he will not have adena for soul/spirit shots. Then what to do? Is is for all?

I agree with you there, I'm not happy with where NC is going, compared to where it used to be years ago, but I don't know, maybe I'm jaded. I just don't expect it to get any better.

I don't expect it to improve either. The game will be 9 years old next month. It's not worth their budget to dedicate people to the bot problem or have much staff dedicated to in game petitions. Even when the petitions were running you'd just get an automated response anyways from a robot.
Makes me wonder about the next installment if ever of Lineage will be like for support. Makes me leery that's for sure.
