Well, I was looking on web, and i found (same as corean servers) that palyers are going to be able to select classes, only if you was awake before the update, doesn't matter the race...
Well, from now, I think its a terrible thing... :( And i hope this won't happen. Because, if you ALREADY created a char with a race and class for example Orc Tyrr, then you change to... Kamael Tyrr, why they make the chance to "mutate" classes and races? It's totally absurd...
I take myself as an example... My favorite dagger class was always the wind rider, but i picked up a dark elf because i liked their base stats better for a rogue. I believe many people did the same so i think it's fair enough.

So basically you picked a class because being op, and you not happy because you won't be anymore the next update ?
So basically you picked a class because being op, and you not happy because you won't be anymore the next update ?
No, i picked up a race because their stats were more interesting for what i envisioned on my class of choice (Rogue) because these things count on l2 after all and they would end on the same class anyway... If we don't have an option to switch i would still play my second favorite class so it wouldn't be much of a problem for me. :D
And i feel that lindvior will definetely bring loads of people doing that, and regretting later because of the new skills that shall come.
But i think that the looks of the character/race should change according to your choice... At least for the main class (it will be weird seeing eva templars or wind riders heroes being dark elfs for example) and the old racial boundaries for subclasses should be extinguished (w/ the exception of maestro and MAYBE judicator).
the koreans have this update and we're getting 100% what korea has so this whole topic/discussion is moot, also use search as there was even an official poll about this on this forum and the majority voted for these changes ;)

Well i guess we was going to take this changes anyway , votes or not :p
Anyway i don't really get it...but i srsly hope that if you'll change ur class you can change ur race too...or just bring urself automaticaly to ur previous class...'cause think about it :
4 daggers , 4 Humans piking the 4 othels and becoming hero you will have a
Human Adventurer othel rogue hero
Human fortune seeker othel rogue hero
Human ghost hunter othel rogue hero
Human wind rider othel rogue hero
i dont like it and always voted against it. i think the classes, as they are now, are pretty well balanced. i know the splitting up from the classes is well intended, but it will bring back all the imbalance that we had before the GoD update, that so many where crying about.
instead they should have refined the classes and gave some old skills back, take some new skills away, for example spoiling, summons, BH awaken into tyrr and WS into tank, ...etc. i made more examples in the past about this in other posts and am not intending to restart the argument about it.
i really don't appreciate to be forced to rework my class, do homework on what class i want to play/need, etc... its frustrating and makes me thinking about quitting out of confusion, mismanagement and the fact that they ignore more important issues just to squeeze in the most confusing update in L1/L2 history.

one of NCSoft's failures is listening to all of the people that cry. If they adjust everything that people cry about in this game then L2 would be some other game. It's been screwed up enough by making changes for those that cry, stop it, stop crying lol

This is right. It is terrible idea, if the developers let, that the players control the development of a game maximally.
In the situation of the Lineage 2 those players who likes the Lineage 2 mainly plays it and do not make comments on the forum.
So mostly the feedbacks on the forum about the game arrives from those players who freshly arrived to game, who are forum spammers, who are haters, or from who mostly failed to play Lineage 2 as he did image it before.
I remember when about 5 years ago did start cry the people for an update, what take changes like the Goddess of Destruction took.
While now I see often the same people who ask the developers, that change everything back as it was before.
Lineage 2 is always was the game of the hardcore players who did play 5-15 hours a day Lineage 2 often.
While its beautifully designed open world system did lure a lots of causal players too to the game.
But, the NCsoft first of all should care for its hardcore player base who here since years and might be will here for many years also.
We are lucky, that Mr. Nam did control excellently the issues and did start to lead the game play back to its own style as it was before.
Ok that makes no sense what you just wrote. Is it near death or are the changes working excellently? lol can't be both hun.
"The changes are working excellently", also known as sarcasm.
It sounds like hearsay...everyone is always quick to say it's dying. Let's just let the update come first before jumping to conclusions.
I think too, that the players again cry more as they should to do.
If we look Korea. the game is 14th most played game in Korea what is a very good result.
Before the Goddess of Destruction the Lineage 2 was 16th too on this list at those times what people called here glorious times.
Also in the 4th quarterly year Lineage 2 incomings increased with 20%.
There is goes event after event in Korea also.
Do not forget, that wasn't level cap raise soon since 2 years in Korea, while many of them got the 99 in a year. So the activity lower too, because people doesn't need to farm so much as before. If all of them should XPing might be Lineage 2 would be 8-10th on this top list.
Mr. Gon Namkung also told, that they have many plans how to improve and balance the gameplay in the upcoming updates. He did talk about it to the Korean players in February, to Russian players in march, also we will get hopefully the answers from him soon too.
If we look our area, we have enough players too and many of them spend also nice money to the game.
Who worry about the missing Community Manager, I guess useless, when Lyzara left was needed about 1-2 months also while Sace did arrive to her place.
You also know well, that the L2 Store isn't so bad as a part of forum users writes it down, also it is first of all an anti bot action.
NCwest knows well too, that may it isn't a popular option and may the upcoming events won't be like this, but as Cryo told, they search new anti-cheat protection.
Yes, Lineage 2 isn't shining so much as did before and as Gon Namkung told they unable to rebuild the whole Lineage 2 under 1 update and in a short time.
So as we heard from He/they has plans and try to modify everything as the players like it.
I think they hardly work on the newest updates what help to make the game more funny for its player base.
By my experience the NCwest staff work hard too, they have a small team what might be work much more as they should.
Those who spam these negative news even often make more damage to the community as 100 bots together.
Also the same with those Brazilian and Russian private server players who spam around with negative comments the Lineage 2 Youtube videos, while these players never didn't play Lineage 2 in their life (private server l2 isn't l2).
After this reply maybe I will get the "fanboy" type flames, but if you think through what I say you will see, that these aren't fan made infos, also if you like this game you should support it and not flame all time itself, its service and its development team.
I rarely post on the forums unless something reallyyy relates to me and this does. I would like to give my opinion on why this is a good thing only for my own personal reasons. I have played since 05. I enjoy this game a lot. However as much as a competitive player I am, I also find that aesthetics to be very intellectually stimulating. In Chronicle 3 I WANTED TO BE A DESTROYER! I have subed it 3 times! But as anyone ingame knows me( if they're still around) I like playing a dark elf male. I find big orcs not ugly and unappealing but I find the model of the DE male personifies me more honestly. In a way I'm not role-playing. I'm playing a game with a model that for the most part represents myself. So I want to sub destroyer and be dark elf. Now the problem with this new update, if I happen to be more inclinded to use two handed swords instead of duals.... I'm gonna overenchant, upgrade, Element a two handed sword... With the new update old players will be able to choose they're own class despite what race they are. If this was NOT the case and I was forced to become a tyr duelist by default because of the destiny stone, my weapon would be USELESS. I would have to pick up a new playstyle, sell my main weapon ect ect .My toons birthday is 05. I am not saying I'm entitled to choose what class my Dark elf is but I think I speak for a lot of people it will be very inconvenient if we are forced to reroll because of class diversification forcing us to use new main weapons. I am for it and it seems ncsoft realizes this as well which is actually surprising to me given there latest track record of corporate player/customer relations. I do however feel sorry for the future players that will not be able to utilize this one time class change offer. However in the end... this l3 sucks no matter which way you look at it. L2 is dead.
It sounds like hearsay...everyone is always quick to say it's dying. Let's just let the update come first before jumping to conclusions.
Tons of players leaving the game and the Powerbook Wiki left to take dust into a corner aren't really hearsay, but facts.

Gon Namkung told, they have technical problem with the powerbook, but later it will be upgraded again.
Since none of us doesn't play there, we haven't real information, that players leaves or not or comes. Even they leaves, just make a break or even plan to quit.
Yes, the Tersis Crisis was a critical issue, at this times the game lost more places from its average top list position, but in the last weeks the Lineage 2 started again to goes up on the top list and earned back better positions.
I still think the one of main issue in Korea, that the game there is brutally expensive. from 1 to 84 free, but from 85 to 99 where the game starts it is 30$ per month, what is quite a lot, just to get access to play.
While the another game fees in Korea are 0-15$, this 30$ is extreme high fee.
I would look, that how much people would pay example Tera if it would cost 30$ fee or how much would pay Lineage 1 for 30$. Might be about 10-20% of their current playerbase.
Gon Namkung told, they have technical problem with the powerbook, but later it will be upgraded again.
Two months straight of technical problems? That sounds like utter incompetence, or lies...
Namkung Gon is tasked with PR for his company, obviously he can't go and say bluntly that the game is dead.

this is typically the style of the Rochandian conspiracies. There is many another possible answer, that why they do not upgrade the Powerbook, if even they haven't technical issue neither.
Example if we look the Tersis issue, yes there some players left the game, what resulted decreased incomings, so may the NCKorea did disband the powerbook article writer section, to save more money.
But if we look the top lists L2 as i told did get back more better positions too.
Also everyone knows, that L2 less played as many years ago, but here an example. The Tera online was in Korea 23th about 1,5-2 months ago and people did call it an active and played, while there is the L2 what had way better position and you trash talk it all time.

How do you explain the dead forums then? Every player happily returned to the game and doesn't wish to discuss their class? Or technical problems even on the main site?
C'mon, this is clearly mirror climbing.

if you look, the innova's forum is close to maximally dead, but the players play the game on the server even if they haven't full server.
But as the game is 14th it is fact, that it is far not dead. Or do you want to say that about 100-200 another Korean MMO is dead too?
Like most of Rochandian actives on the different forums, but their in game activity close to 0 often.
So, maybe players just play. 90-95% of NCwest players doesn't read the forum neither search informations from in game friends and players.
Koreans are quite socially active. Dead forums are an indicator of a problem. Americans are loud and whiny. Dead forums are an indicator of a problem. Russians are well conserned about maximum efficiency. They mostly discuss optimal setups and rarely post just to converse so their forums wouldn't be active. That and they primary use other forums.

I did mean to innova eu's forum.
But at all it is better if everyone just focus to play the game and do not use the forum, while read 1-1 topic or write a comment often mean a lost of time waste. Additionally here need to search out the useful comments from the spam of useless forum users.
I guess rochandians would be more useful part of the community too if they wouldn't use forums so often, but under this time would help to their clans friends or newbies in the game, but it also right to the local forum gladiators too.
If they just can write to the forum while they do not do nothing, even better if they do not play at all.:p

you do realize most ppl on said forum read the korean forums themselves right ? it's really not hard to see the decrease in activity on the korean forums and to see the bitter fights they had with the game staff just before this inactivity has set in.
also I have asked both Cryo & Juji for a simple statement to refute any of this and to confirm they do have a real date/timeline on Lindvior being introduced on NCWest servers but they chose to be as silent on that as on the whole outrage with the draco being a nc store event.
really how hard is it to put up the promo intro for Lindvior just as the Koreans had before it was even released on their test server hmm ? in particularly as this is about something that's supposed to be released here within just a few Months..
personally i can see they got less activities and less things done and some people left but i cant jump to that conclusion if the korean representative didnt say it. maybe its just the wish of some players, tired of this game, that servers should gp down because its the only way they will quit. xD
Also, no NC employee would jump in and say, "stop playing L2, it's a dead game". Their job is to keep their customers and attract new ones, and that's the kind of propaganda operation Namkung Gon is doing.

There is quite a lot of question threads what was created today and even more what was created yesterday.
That is why I say, that even L2 isnt so popular atm as before, but it has its activity.
L1 got 2-3 years downgrade too when it was about same old as the L2 now, but to nowadays year by year it could stand up.
As Draecke told and someone before him, that we can't ignore the present or hide, what is mean, that there is a lots of issues with the game/service/community what they have to solve, but to cry and make drama or prophecies aren't the right ways too.
So need to tell, the things what is going now even if it is bad or good. But what now need for both side of players and side of NC, it is some support from both sides.
With this, that you cry all over here just decrease any kind of motivation of the players and the NCwest/NCKorea too.
Tons of players leaving the game and the Powerbook Wiki left to take dust into a corner aren't really hearsay, but facts.
Anything with a "wiki" at the end hardly constitutes anything fact. I would take what they say with a grain of salt. Let the players leave in droves... do we know what demographic these players are to begin with? It might just be the element of the game we want gone anyway. From the looks of the direction NC is taking this game, it appears to be the right move in the long run. But like i said earlier, let's wait and see how it fairs here.
I think most of the informations what are really important appeared in the Powerbook.
But if they want upgrade their database, the next big step is to overwrite the drop lists, the levels and stats of the monsters and a lots of area.
It is a very long work, what request more people and with it more money. But if we look most of game runs without Powerbooks like this, we haven't too, but we are fine without it too or also was fine the Korean community without it too, while they didn't have.
Maybe the NCKorea or Gon Namkung did decide, that everybody has to work around the new updates or what amount of money the Lineage 2 Korea can use up they must turn to development or to improvement of another services.
It is like might be at us too, example Juji has to test Lindvior update and focus his time to it and not to test, that from 10.000 Life Stone 80 how much will gives passive and active reflect damage.
the Powerbook and the Juji's Lab are just a useful extra what the players receive for free as some extra help, but they aren't real part of the game or the service.

If they would just copy/paste the data mined directly from the game, or provided by the devs themselves, it's not a huge work, but just desktop work.

Actually... The PowerBook Wikipedia is part of the service. It's provided by the company itself.

Maybe you remember but our old Lineage 2 site wasn't update for long time, also the rival company has a total crap website too. Also was time when the NCwest did stop the make Server Transfer service.
I can't see clearly, that you play or not play, but if you play try to look the things some more positive too. If not, than just don't talk about it, because just makes the people upset with it, while for you it isn't important anymore.
Some years people told in 2012 will the end of the world. Look we are here in 2013 and play Lineage 2.
Try to look the things positive about the L2 and about another things too.
My opinion is, i dont get anything what you all talking about
We are talking about philosophical questions :)
While LordOfSpoil has a subjective world view, thinking in terms of "positive" and "negative", the so-called Rochandians (http://boards.rochand.com) think in terms of objective facts. Like Tiferet said, the Powerbook Wikipedia is part of the service provided by NCKorea. Before the Wikipedia format was introduced with the Freya update, the company database with drop lists, recipes etc. was accessible from their starting page (http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/). This information has always been there, until it came to an end with the December layoffs (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=254007) in Korea.

No, not only I thinking with positive or negative way. I just shortly say, if appear an issue, you shouldn't think to the worst things.
It isn't a good thing, that the PowerBook doesn't receive updates, but with your links you just did confirm, what I did try to explain before as a possible situation.
The link talks about some layoffs in Korea. As it also says the development department remained as it was before.
So if the NC did make layoff around the Lineage 2 might be it was with affect to a part of the service team.
And while the PowerBook team might be isn't a necessary part of the service (bug repair team, anti cheat team, tester team etc are more necessary).
Might be the PowerBook team was affected with the layoffs.
When a company have to make layoffs yes it is the sign, that not everything work maximally fine, but it doesn't mean, that people have to create world end theories for it.
