I cannot help to express my deepest worry about the way your "truly free" concept is being administratered. It seems that aspects of this game are being closed to players in favour of those who has a creditcard.
I would really like to encourage you at NCSoft to seriously consider what it is you want with this game. You seem to like your cost/income plans a lot, so maybe you should consider looking even further into the future. The longer this game runs, it seems more and more things that we used to take for granted will have a price. For something that is "truly free" Lineage II is actually turning into something that is quite expensive to play.
The L2store is a great thing. Lots of good stuff in there, but please, stop making event that rely on people's credit cards. I can't even begin to describe my dissatisfaction with this new tendency. Events are an essential part of this game, it's one of the pillars that makes a game great.
The l2store has much to offer to make leveling easier, appearance stones and what not, but I really think you should keep those two things seperate.
Having a game truly free means that the essentials are untouched by economy. Events is one of those things. Don't worry people will still buy most of what the store has to offer, so I doubt your economy will be affected.
There is no pleasing you ppl. First it's omg only the bots win when an event items drop. Make an event for real players. Well, all your complaining has worked it's an event for only real players...grats keep up the crying and see what else they turn into only real player partisipation. Like paying for oly ffs.

If you are a returning player, make sure to enjoy the added benifits of Path to awakening, basically making the game super easy for you. As an extra incentive for you to come back, exp requirements to lvl up has been decreased as well, so you will probably be awakened like the rest of the population in no time at all.

P.S. ArtemisDK is a clan member and returning player, indeed, but he's playing GoD for a while. I see where his point lies. His opinion is basically the same as the many players on the announcement section complaining about these last events, where you must use real money to enjoy them to the fullest.
If you don't like this because this new methodology of server events not allow you to play 24/7 and receive lots of stuff by trully bot event type, leave the game.
2012 Events trully free:
Tersi Light - Trully free, trully bot. Server crashes, server overload, increase adena of RMT.
Valentine Cake - The begin of trully credicard, to receive the better reward ppl need buy item in l2store, server overload, RMT don't increase a lot like tersi light event.
Harmony Festival - Don't based in adena, don't overload server, don't increase rmt.
Aniversary Letters - Trully free, trully bot. Server crashes, server overload, increase adena of RMT.
Birth of Draco - Trully free, trully bot. Server crashes, server overload, increase adena of RMT.
Summer Squash - Trully free, trully bot. Server crashes, server overload, increase adena of RMT.
Memorable Raid Boss - Trully free, trully bot. Server crashes, server overload, increase adena of RMT.
Kaliel Blessing - Trully free, trully bot. Server crashes, server overload, increase adena of RMT.
When I write trully bot, consider bot any type of "player exploit", like memmorable raid, one player with 40 boxes to receive 40 rewards = trully exploit. Players with 50 boxes logged in during kaliel blessing = "player exploit." Not all "player exploit" use the adena to improve RMT. Consider if a exploit player can log 40 boxes, rmt players can log the double value.
For a strange reason, when "NC Soft" begin the combat against bots with ban hammer / leave bots from events; this boards overload with real players talking bad things against the game.
I get what Artemis is saying and, for the most part, agree with it.
L2 isn't a game (yet) where you can only play so far without paying. We all know those kinds of "F2P" games; can't get above a certain level without paying, etc.
I can understand NCSoft wanting to have paying player only type of events. It obviously brings them more money. However, I think this is completely against their "Truly Free" label they put on everything. "Truly Free" should mean that we players should be able to experience everything the game has to offer without paying. Like I said in another thread, what's next? Pay to siege? Pay to raid? Pay to get into instances? Pay to awaken?
NCSoft clearly isn't following that any longer.

This event is for those that can afford to pay for "extra" benefits added to the game... during their earned recreational time. If you can't afford this event you need to make some changes in your daily activities... you may consider if you should be playing a game at all. Luxuries, such as online games, can be considered a privilege... not a right. It is sometimes hard for children to comprehend the finer things in life are not free, not given to them like their parents once did.
It is simply an anti bot action, but it is fact, that exist different ways too, to solve this issue and decrease drastically the number of bot farmed event items.
For sure it wasn't the main target, that "come on u must pay a lots of money if u want participate on the event".
The problem is, that neither the NCKorea neither the NCwest doesn't make any fast steps to get a new anti bot system.
This is the most critical issue, that when will they found a way or a new anti bot system what will effective against the farmers.
Those who doesn't really believe in the NCwest's word now can have some hope also, because the NCKorea has same issue too, so they are forced to find another anti bot system.
Also I think, the NCKorea the one who decides about what protection system they use in Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan and West. The sub companies like the NCwest too may just have to agree, what they get and through them we have to agree it too.
But back to the L2Store. Yes it is free all content of the game available for free and for unlimited time. But a lots of people through this title thinks it is something what for yo u never have to pay and you can be the strongest person here.
It is really an issue, that most of those who came here from private server and play here since the game is free, they didn't even pay for the game. So the NCwest has to target those who are able to pay even more money too than monthly 15$. Also sadly in 90% those people make emo rage post on the forum who never didn't pay for nothing.
I remember to the l2store of the first month. It was quite ok for me. but everyone did make QQ, that useless items. next time the NC put dewr and dear to destiny packs, than the same peoples made the QQ "over powered items the l2store is crap".
So the problem is, that since 2-3 years the same ****** group on the forum flame the NCwest or NCsoft for everything even if it is good or not.
They are like the football hooligans.
But there are many players who enjoy to play this game and not even read or use the forum. Or some of player like me who really enjoy the game, but would read the forum to get some useful information or even just contact or help for another players.
But these forum hooligans make it for impossible often and just makes me upset.

What he said. This has nothing to do with server stability or anti-bot, but rather a convenient excuse to increase NCoin sales.
Business decision wise, it's genius. Spend more on additional anti-bot countermeasures, and in-game surveillance. Or simply move everything to the store and increase revenue. No brainer.
IMHO if people can spend their $$ on this stuff fair enough... but to make it so that you need to spend a hell of a lot for such a low chance...

Yep , no doubt they drastically lowered the odds of getting something worthwhile. The Lyn dracos that appeared to me so far, all gave Dyes as well.:(
