Registration for Battle Tournament 2013 is now closed! Over 140 teams (1,100 Players) registered, but only 32 teams will be able to compete in the tournament*. Due to this overwhelming number of applicants, a special Team Deathmatch will be held for the remaining teams that were not qualified. Five Battle Tournament entry slots (1 per server) out of the 32 will be reserved for the teams that win the deathmatch on each server.

Shilen (5 teams + 1)
Magmeld (5 teams + 1)
Bartz (3 teams + 1)

The remaining 5 spots (1 for each server) will be decided after the PvP Deathmatch on Saturday March 23rd. The deathmatch will be with your live character and take place on the server you play on.
Each team will receive an email informing them if they have been qualified for the Battle Tournament or the Deathmatch.

Rules:
All teams will be pitted together into a giant PvP match. The last person standing will qualify his or her team for the last remaining Battle Tournament spot for his or her server.
Must enter with the same team you registered with
Team representative must be present or whole team will be disqualified.
Summoning other players into the battle area is FORBIDDEN. We will be reviewing the logs after the match and If you are found guilty of summoning another player, your team will be disqualified.
If one or more members of the team is missing, the team is allowed to participate with the remaining members
Substitutes are allowed, but each team member must be of a different awakening class.
No combat rules, anything goes.
Last minute changes to the team composition will NOT be accepted
Teams will be teleported to the Deathmatch location at the time mentioned above for each server.
Be on time! We will not wait for latecomers.
Sudden Death: After 30 minutes, if you die then you will be ported out. No rezzing is allowed after this point.

lets be honest, that would not change the out come much at all even if you were given pre made toons. and that would be a little bit much effort for people who did not get their stuff together asap when this was announced.

it is because of this, you team registered after 32 teams have already registered. simple as that. if they decided on that fact, that you are 1st or 2nd pvp party on bartz, then they would deciding on something that is not fair to everyone.
In my point of view and trying to understand what-how-why. I'm doing this comment not for my personal interest but for the one of the many of us.
The event of Battle Tournament by its self is awesome and the best how far but ...
A general overview of what we experienced during these days was that NCsoft development team has nice ideas, yes, but has no idea how to develop them and to implement them and I'm really sorry that I'm saying this. Many players around are disappointed because of this, many friends, known, unknown and randoms are saying that this event of the Battle Tournament should be more realistic in order to give players the most fun possible.
If you would ever ask my opinion or someone else about this event and how to implement it, we would surely suggest you just few things to do as below. Just ideas to make it better and more enjoyable for EVERYONE and not just for 32 players per server!!!!!!
REMINDER: fair play does NOT mean a random selection or "All teams will be pitted together into a giant PvP match." as about the second ... no comments, since parties are able to do deals between each other.
EXAMPLE
(same fighting rules etc.)
1. ALL players 85+ awaken that are able to make a party will be able to participate in this event. 7 players constant +2 reserve members
2. 1st part of the event will take place in coliseum in order to get qualified as the final "32 teams".
-every party registered will participate
-parties will be filled with 7 players etc.
-team VS team
-the winner party continues to fight in other round till 32 remains
-the lost party gets a reminding hat
-the final 32 teams will participate to the Battle Tournament etc.
The winner party get the ticket, and so on till 32 remain.
(This might take time like 2-3 weeks, not more on each server).
Fighting time starts at Olympiad time, 19:00 gmt+2

I do not think being a "top pvp party" was a requirement for this event. You probably simply were too late to register.

1. Are the names / clans / other things that show who is who are going to be hidden like ceremony of chaos ? (or all will be visible and will be big clan vs big clan and all other small groups lost in the crossfire? )
2. Will it be possible to use all items ingame or will be same rules as on main tournament ?
3. Will you watch for switching main to dual / programs like ******* and other tricky actions during the match ?

Oh.. I can play a 99 Tyrr just as well as the next naab. :)
On the Tournament server we are all on equal grounds.. on our current servers we have to fight Chuck Norris and Plastic card users.. so.. even if I was 99/99/80/80 it still wouldn't be fair.
This will even the biggest fun in the whole history of Lineage 2! I imagine how about 200 players per server what about 28 parties will fight against each other to get the participation place:).

Tbh this is not even close to fair.sure the teams that they didnt make it on time to register its their fault but making a death match like this its something like ("seriously wtf are u smoking").talking about an unbalanced mass pvp from many aspects but i wont go into details cause its pointless, ncsoft made their decisions and ppl must accept it.

However, it looks stupid to me. They allowed to make the teams with dualclasses, which is normal as long as they allowed only 1 class/party, but in the end, without people to be warned about it, they have to fight last man standing in a mass massacre... How an iss kamael for example can stand a chance with his team if he is 86, and participate like that, cuz he had no other choice... Why they didn't made the registration only 3 days for example and warned people about all this. And again... gear/good pc/lvl>all. You gave great chance to people to participate to your events, NCWest, good job...
This would be a better event if they held server qualifier matches with the level 99 toons on the tournament server, to determine the 32 teams to move forward to the actual tournament.

I was glad to see finally a serious pvp event from ncsoft but after you posted this redicolous idea of the mass deathmatch:all vs all with their live characters you became even more redicolous to my eyes.Not only you have no idea how to hold real events but now you also demonstrate to understand totally nothing about pvp.

After participating in similar event on licensed servers of competitor company I should say I'm really disappointed by how you handle it here. I agree on all points made above. From introducing new surprising things after the registration closed down to the ridiculousness of the one healer rule, forcing parties to go with low level alts in order to oblige those. The result in any case wouldn't be representative in terms of how pvp is done in actual conditions, but the TDM format is even more laughable since it's not giving nearly as representative set of skillful players as an elimination format between equalized in terms of items and skill enchantment parties for example. Sad that you had one good idea and you turned it into a big pile of smelly brown... you know what.
So if a clan gets 2 parties in there they can work together to ensure one of them gets through. The reason this is good is it promotes pvp and not just the ability to submit any team u want.

I agree that the 1st come 1st serve was so ridiculous and this deathmatch would of been a good solution to pick team BUT this deathmatch had to be on the event server with lvl 99/same gear, Now its just gonna be who have the best gear/lvl and friends. Not the best skilled player like this tournament is supposed to be.
Next tournament i hope that they will pick team from deathmatch or something like that but with equal chance aka gear/lvl for everyone.
Battle Tournament should have never been opened to people under 99 lvl anyways, since most people in the serious pvp clans are that level. I understand why they did it, but then it ended up a mess with the registration. In the alternative, qualifying rounds on each server would have helped.
PS- To the ppl complaining about this... I get why you're upset, but they also could have just filled the last spots with the teams that signed sooner than most of you did. They're trying to actually do the right thing by people here.

Really, spare the BS on being afraid of the skills of random people. I'm sure some are good, but that wouldn't stop me from fighting them. This is just dealing with reality, and that reality is that you can't open the process to so many people when you only have 32 slots. Requiring lvl 99 to join would have shut out an easy 50% of people, but would have made more sense for only 32 slots.

Yes, sure it was entirely players' fault that NCWest Production Assistant answered questions 2 days after registration started (checking again, yes 2 days - 03-09, Q-A topic - 03-11). So the not pre-made teams had no chance to participate before all others. Now they don't have chance to be last men standing either. I'm sooooo happy that i watched Core battles and it was all handle so much smoother and was so much more interesting than this "try" of NCWest.

Guess that means you should turn off your /carebear mode and pvp, but since its to late for that, you must fight on your server to prove you deserve to be in the ring. If your team is a group of non-pvp never hero's and you're being there or not will not effect anyone or anything. Go back to the Grind, learn pvp and maybe next time they will invite you. Till that day, deuces!!

NcSoft said they are controlling that players do not use third party programs during games (sure we know you make that, i'm not worry about that) BUT about players who bot for months, players wich are 99 today, with stuff++++++++++++ that was paid through their bot (and of course, this ppl don't need to bot anymore now, they hav all without make anything except ... set up program ><), stuff that players who respect rules can't pay only in 1 month of play...it will not be controlled of course ><

And there is still the question how NC choose those main teams, who wont fight for their spot? Here on forum people are claiming they participate on the last day and they went in? So? Was it random? Or nccoin bill orientated? How many teams with 86-95 lvl members went in?(here i suppose i don't need an answer cuz it should be - none, but who knows... surprises are everywhere). And again... if you organize a tournament that is with equal equipment, don't give hopes to lowbies, that they can participate. Just use your stupid "random" choosing team system and announce the winners. Seriously, NCWest, you're insulting your community with this Deathmatch!

Okay I will elaborate for the slightly dim readers out there; If you release an announcement at US prime-time and it is a 1st come 1st serve basis then it is disadvantageous to the rest (and vice versa)... Furthermore, what is the point of having a seven day signing period when your chances are extremely low to getting in unless you can sign up in the 1st 30min (which I know 3 of the groups from Shilen did).
Now out of the 20 groups in the free-4-all my group has a good chance to get in as we are all 99/with 95+ subs and +++ gear (as are the other 3 fear groups); but for those who dont they havent a chance in hell.

There's a Fear group in the tournament, just none of us really play anymore.
"First come, first server" was a terrible idea. They should've done some qualification death match rounds (not particularly this kind of death match) or even let the server vote on their favorite team to enter the battle tournament. With the second option, teams that are recognizable and pvp often on the server will likely get it. It is firstly a battle between servers, and the teams selected will represent the interest of that server. Well, at least almost every decent party on Chronos got in. See you in the BT.
Somehow i think that NC West gonna make up some nice cash on Feathers of Blessing for this TDM :D Since all is allowed, enjoy cleaning up parties with this stuff stocked up, and other ncstore items.
Some clannies and I were talking on vent the other day and predicted that this would happen. You can't allow infinite Brez/feathers/pots/etc and expect this to conclude in 1 hours time. You're going to have to start porting ppl out the moment they die or not allow feathers/brez.
If you ever do this **** again, next time make sure all the char identities be hidden... same like in coc, atleast that way u wont see 5 friendly parties focus on 1-2...
An explanation would be nice. How you dare to change rules during running event. You clearly said that all is allowed except summoning ppl to the arena. How you dare to change the rules and forbid the ress for participants after a longer fights? So what can we expect during the main tournament? Rules changing every day in middle of the pvp's depending on how well/bad you have slept? Shame on you, badly managed event and it even didnt started fully yet.
They got bored by observing the battle and wanted to speed it up by changing rules during the fight (aka forbidding - by use of shout chat - alive ppl to use ress). Thats all. :D

Tbh it was way predictable that this thing will happen.ppl had waaaay much pots mass rezzes on reuse feathers etc etc it would be an never ending pvp and im sure that ppl in a point would quit of boredom its true they had to think about it earlier and make that rule OR dont say that everything goes from the start,but hey even albert einstein had ideas and then he changed them at the last minute to fit his purposes.

Lol NCsoft on all servers TOP BOT PTs have won the tournament, you didn't even say a word. Came to Bartz 2 legit parties left and you port us out? How much did bots paid you to make a rematch i wonder? I'm afraid tomorrow we will see some new excuses or unsanctioned porting of people from arena, so those bots who own you could get into between the server tournament. I guess there are players who hold GMs by the balls tight.
When did this technical error occur. Did it occur in the beginning of the match or in the sudden death?
If it occurred at the end during sudden death, those parties that were out before sudden death, LOST - and have no right to the rematch. What possibly could have occurred at the beginning of the match when it says on your own website: "No combat rules, anything goes."

Only in NCus such corrupt GMs can exist, in Korea current staff would've been fired long time ago for non performance:
1. Bots spammers in towns;
2. Bots exp/adena players
3. Script/Radar users
4. Real life adena/item traders
5. GM friends and friend promotion/protection
6. Geodata/Server performance issues
Finally, death tournament no announcement, no rules, no nothing. Three parties remained and all got ported out, and they want rematch. In Korea for such **** GMs wound promote those three parties to "between server" tournament, or at least would've make a rematch between remained CP's + compensation. You had 2 weeks to come up with some basic policies and ways to perform this event. Could've made all people 99, give us same gear, same epics, equal skills, and come up with resurrection policies. Instead of slacking at work and thinking that your BOT friends would do the work.

When we reg, we thought that we will be up, so we did our pt with some players 90-, some 95-.
And we didn't think that we will need to pvp vs some fxcking bot'ers full enchant. We thought that we could pvp with same lvl, same stuff, and that only best players could win.
Thought that, ONE TIME, an event could be fair play.

Nothing surprises me anymore :D, for Bartz they are redoing the BT because of resing during sudden-death, but on Shilen it was allowed (once) during sudden-death. **** happens and whilst some of my team would like the GMs to redo the sudden-death as our team was knocked out at the end due to the opposing healer being allowed to res up (extremely rapidly ;)). I would rather the GMs just say "mistakes happen and that they will just improve on it next time", as imho id rather that another battle tournament be put on once a month than discourage NCsoft from trying it again.
Furthermore, on Shilen the BT was great fun...as atm the pvp is dead due to an enemy that bsoes/prs on site :mad:. Hell NCsoft should add a BT where it costs nccoin to sign up.... rather than some ****** egg opening fiasco.

I have not received an email from ncsoft stating my teams enterence to the battle tournament, is this a problem? I was told by cryo after the victory that i would receive this notification.
When do we get to work with our test toons on this battle tournament server, and how exactly does that work? Do we have access at least a week prior to any matches so that we can work with it, practice vs each other?
well, it was certainly interesting (for someone not involved like me, that is).
I watched the "Deathmatch" on Shilen and it turned out exactly the way i predicted within the first three seconds of watching... the team containing Profeus and S7orm won. Thats what being a step ahead in the gear-department does i guess. Or being miles ahead in that case ;)
Even then, the match went pretty one-sided all along. One clan killing all opposition while working together, then fighting organized among themselves. It had a touch of just being a show with the winner being decided upon long ago in clanchat. Maybe thats just the most appealing conspiracy theorie though :p
The most entertaining thing in this match was watching exactly those Heroes that flood my chatwindow with the funny daily soap messages of who is the greatest one ever biting the dust in very short order by the hands of ppl from their own clan that up until now havent been recognized as much as bigtalkers as those Heroes themselves.
Also funny to watch was a Kamael Warrior with some identity-revealing glowy aura staying along the doors of the coliseum until receiving buffs from someone already ported out during sudden death phase or some healer supposedly using balance while also being outside already.
And of course i would really like to know the amount of adena that were used during the match - i saw some serious spam of blessed ressurrection scolls so i think those numbers would be interesting to read.
To put it short - it was entertaining to watch. It was not fair in any interpretation of the word. And probably next time it would be better to rely on a lottery type system to assign the places in the tournament. But thats up to the GMs to decide, and i think they could learn a lot from these matches. Noone should get too worked up over all this.. its just a game. Events with flaws lead inevitably to flaws being detected and events being improved - if the GMs dont lose interest because everyone complains about everything.
And a last suggestion for improvement from me : Next time when you show up in some arenas - put on some (more) clothes, Juji :p

What a BS excuses... It's if a player BOTs and when NScoft catches them they say "i experienced issues exping legit way, and a lot of lags; that's why i decided to bot". By this definition people can bot...

2. Resurrection is not a Player Issues - it's NCsoft and organizers regular screw up

the team with the most number of allies were bound to win that extra pass no matter what from what i witnessed
lineage 2 has a great system to handle this kind of events in the ceremony of chaos.
with just a few tweaks you could have made it team vs team instead of it being individual vs individual.
and if this system was to be used:
since, in that instance zone, a death is a death no matter what, the whole issue of someone resurrecting another would not have happened;
each team and its members would be assigned a predetermined number (eg. all members of party 1 given 1 above their heads and etc.);
everyone's gear would be hidden so other than the very few clues, no one would know who the other was. (most were in eternal / seraph to begin with anyways);
another ball dropped on this one nc...you had several weeks to plan this too!

good job making kaliel's blessing part 2 an L2Store promotion and never calling it an event! i really hope any event involving mandatory L2Store items will forever be called such that, and hope even more that these promotions (including the current draco 2 event) be repeated in the future so people who missed out this time around can have a chance to enjoy this event in the future as well! =D
Main idea of Death Match in each game is - if someone kill you, you are dead and you cant continue and only last ppl who is alive, is winner.
My party was one of the last on battle field (2-3 if ppl told me correct info) and yes it seemed like battle rules was changed during TDM. At the end, when there were alive only 3 partys i was ported out after death during 3s.
Before we had time to ress each other. :)
So, next time - better rules, no changes during fights. And if its Death Match, there should not be permitted bress/ress/salvation/feathers/. But yes, for me it was fun :)
