Lindvior: Summoners equipment?

Wynn Summoner Started Last reply 43 posts
I've been researching the patch notes of Lindvior. And there are rumors that the expansion came in April. I'm in the problem of deciding which equipment to buy.

Currently most of the summoners are light armor, bow and mace. Few use steal. But in the new expansion we have magic spells benefits. The four "Marks" will regenerate very quickly as the ability to "Mark retriever". Being able to use them very well followed and chained. Its power is also enlarged.

To this is added the servitor share, besides regenerating MP, also regenerate all summons like a "Mass healt" their HP. Also to equip two-handed mace magic the p.attack increase by 150%.

The idea of going completely equipped as a magician attracts me. And in some videos Olys seems to follow that pattern. I hang the videos:

Now I ask. What equipment do you plan to use?

(Wynn Elemental Master are using Sigil, Robe and Magic Sword)
In Lindvior there are more benefits using 2 handed blunt magic weapon instead of bow
I would say Robe Set + Retributer and if the money allows it a Hvy Set to counter phys. DD's (if you plan to do a lot of oly).
I saw videos and it seems that use 2h magic blunt weapon.
But, I dont know if buying robe or light armor?????????
What do you think?
I will do exactly as know : I got the three type of set, a bow and a retributer.

I may switch for 1h Mace + Sigil one day
I'm not gonna spend money on a bow if it turns out that a retributer is the best choice for all pets.

Unfortunately, seeing the powerbook wiki is practically dead, no updated info is easily available...
If you use retributer, you will use the set light or robe?? I say for the bonus armor.

Because I've seen some using retributer and light armor, but it would be best robe with retributer.

I have a dark elf Wynn Summoner and i dont know what buy exactly :(

personally i use light with bow (keep in mind that it fits me, its not general outfit). i think that you have to compare next situations:
1) your summons die fast because you dont have enough casting speed or mana and usually use reapers then you have to equip robe and magic weapon
2) if you use cougars and you manage to keep alive your summons (most of the time) i think its better to use light and bow

of course if you have money buy 2 armors and 2 weapons and change them as you wish (keep in mind your sub, you can use some gear from main) and if you have more money the situation is more complicated because you can add elements, dyes, various accesories (its a never ending story http://boards.lineage2.com/images/icons/icon7.gif)

I've got both sets of gear, so I have no problems switching between them.
You will never feel complete by having only 1 set.

If you go robe, you think ul need hvy, if u go heavy, u think u need light, if u go light, u think u need robe.
I have seen a video about comparing dmg of the new/old cats and cougars - the cats done way more, and it was phisical, so now I'm a bit confused. I mean we are supposed to be wizards to start with, cougars are good for raids but in pvp our marks and retriever what counts, so if we'll have a more powerful patk pet, how to combine with the wizards' equipment?

I have the same problem, but it seems that we will have to wait Lindvior Update for know how equip our pjs.

I'm a dark elf, and so it comes in Lindvior Update I have to put Patk, but i dont know what is the best equipment combination for my summoner.

Link this video.

Also you'll figure out how to change your build. I did already.
no love for heavy set? :)
i use it since 85 - almost 99 now and all 99 wynns use it, at least on my server (including yamino :) )

In PvE I prefer to have the small p.atk boost from the Light Set. The only situation where I may need more P.Def would be in Epic Spezion, but my tank is awesome most of the time

In PvP I just use my robe set (+6677) to burst people out of themselves with nukes & so
I used to be a clan leader, back when pvp was abundant I get targetted more than my healers. Went to heavy, never went back. People stopped focusing me after that and I lost very, very little DPS. Also tanking raids is easy.

Yes, that's why I have 2 sets now, was thinking about getting the heavy as well, but losing cast speed/matk/etc bonuses might not worth all that pdef - I mean not too much difference compared to light. I still use light most of the time 'cos I need to enchant/attri my robe set, but if the p.atk would count next (seen oly videos with wynns using cats so guessing p.atk is main focus?) not sure I'll ever need the robe. Well, maybe mass pvp to play range with reapers as now...?

To the previous post: I try to find it, and link both videos here.
Right, it's not with cat but pony against cougar:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcSM7KBPRLA

I didn't even pay attention first, but now I can clearly see that the 'old' summons will have the same skills as the 'new' ones, but will do more dmg with them. No questions from me then anymore (^.^)
Come on, I want 2 Spectral Lords or nothing!
Again, this is just speculation, but according to the video you'd be getting 5 summon points. Reapers/cougars/bears would use 2 each, while the 'old' upgraded pet would use 3. It's only based on the fact that in the video he was able to get old and new servitor, but only one new. Maybe - but ill try to find the olympiad video as well where I've seen the cat.

Well my post was not clear : I also use a heavy set but it's very situational : bad pull, rb aggro, pvp against archer only
Would you guys go with +6 seraph heavy set defense, or +3 eternal heavy set defense?
It seems that all new summons have only physical skills, even the ones considered casters(new queen cat, new seraphim, new soulless) have physical skills.

And the new caster summons have lower pdef-mdef and HP than the old grim reaper, but the other have similar stats:

In this screen, player compares the new summons stats to old ones, tanker(bear)-tanker(nightshade), nuker(reaper)-"nuker"(soulless)(physical skills) and melee(cougar)-melee(spectral lord).

Spectral lord and Nightshade have similar stats when compared to Bear and Cougar. But Soullees has much lower defense and HP than Reaper.

It seems then that equipping a bow doesn't give too much of a dmg nerf. Or am I reading these wrong?
I think the best for mass pvp in Lindvior is full mage build:

- Robe set + Staff
- Full mage buffs(Wizard harmony)
- Use Soul reapers

Advantages:

- You will perform nuke spams better, with very low CD on skills and better damage
- Reapers still have magic skills, so they will deal more damage with their skills

Disadvantage:

- Less damage during Nabiarov form, because it has physical skills in Lindvior, so you will be weaker in this form with a full mage build.

The new ranged sevitors are pretty much archers with longer range, higher critical rate, higher P.attk and lower attack speed, archer based skills

They have do have less P.def and HP than reapers, but more M.def. Unless your opponents like to attack the summons rather than the summoner the defensive stats shouldn't be an issue. If they are, use servitor UD.

Also those stats seem off compared to what I have on the Russian server.

Anyone really use Nabiarov in PvP ? O.O
I've used nabiarov in pvp before in harnak, pod and boz core for the fun of it and you do some really great damage, but against anyone competent its better to switch to reapers.
For PvE, nothing really changes:

Melee DPS Pets: Robes or Light + Bow/Crossbow + Warrior Harmony
Ranged DPS Pets: Robes or Light + Bow/Crossbow + Warrior Harmony

The only time I'd wear a Retributer over a Bow or CB in PvE is in an AoE group. Since P.Critical doesn't affect Skill Crit Rate and the new Ranged Pet Physical Skills don't crit, the Retributer is fine in that scenario.

Heavy Armor is most useful for PvP. Generally, you can PvE in robes. The benefits of Light aren't big enough to justify the extra cost, IMO, but if you can afford it go ahead and get it (or go cheap and just use an Immortal Light Set for a small P.Atk boost on the pets...).
Are you proved that equipment "armors and weapons" are best for your classes?
My pj is Wynn Spectral Master and I'm not sure how equipped. Giving P. attk = "light armor and bow" or the INT that is what most have = "retributer and robe" or mix "light and retributer"
I do not know what to do :(
I have a lvl 89 Spectral Master and I use Bow and light with my Spectral Lords and that is awesome :D
I have a lvl 99 Elemental Master and I use Retributer and Heavy with my w/e summons i might need and that is awesome :D
I was testing the Spectral Lord with Light and Bow and doing very well, but with the retributer and light set is a very good combination too.
Wynn is nuker, his main damage is from skills what are magic ones. Summoner is just side damage. Good retributer, good robe armor and good skills (even those u are selecting) are very important. Summons are great, but their main job is transfer pain. With nukes (weakness -30% m/p deff) you can kick many ppl, fast healing casting (urself and summons), this is your main skills. Heavy armor and leather (I like leather on pve) slows your casting drasticly...what use of summoner who's summons are dead?

Drastically?
With acumen sa, on an elf, with wit dyes, you can have close to cap with hvy..if not capped actually. On a dark elf, you'd have like 1700+...doesn't seem drastic to me.

+1 to that, ill use 1h magic sword (not mace, my pocket cant afford it) and a sigil. If i stand lucky on drops, i will change to retri

0.5 sec may cost you your life.

less 3k p def could make you 2 shot.
Yes, Heavy set is the best+ atr and etc. But Bow is not needed at all. Retributer gives much more efficiency then Bow. Not to mention that at +4 gives bonus that actually helps you, not like bow (at +4 increases dmg of phys skills, and it dont work for pets, unless they fixed it), and also you can put empower+acumen on a +4 blessed weapon and you will fix your cast speed problem. Because in Lindvior cast speed is very important for the sumonners. And 2 hand MAGE blunt gives you 105% p attack, only crit rate of pets is your weakness, but if 400 crit rate is weakness..... istina ring + augment + duys :)

No, and why I'm simply not typing again... Because this information is easily accessible if you know where to look for it.

Seems you didn't read the rest of the thread.
I think Cast Speed is extremly important yes. it would be nice if I didn't have 1950 cast without Rudolph agathion :(
