Schedule
The Battle Tournament match schedule is available here: http://www.lineage2.com/battle-tournament/5_schedule.php

Note that on Sunday March 31st, many countries will have daylight savings. If you are not sure what time your match starts at, please use the following website: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html (Choose USA-Washington-Seattle, enter your match date/time as displayed on the website, and click on “show result”. Then search for your country’s capital in the list and you will get the correct time for you).

Event Server Availability
The event server will be available up to two hours before the start of the first match, so that you can create your macros and prepare your character. You may practice with your team during this time. The event server will close down after the end of the last match for the day.

Note: Any items, skills, or quests acquired before the matches will result in your team's disqualification from Battle Tournament.

Team Composition
It is NOT possible to change your team composition during the tournament. If you have missing team members and no substitutes available, you can choose to either fight with a reduced team or forfeit.

Why is this a good idea to restrict class/race?

Do you mean that all classes will be built in one race or are these the races that cant be made for the class?

Each race comes with a racial skill that even I wouldnt be comfortable playing if i dont know it. People registered the classes they played with since GOD launch, taking that away and giving them something else to play is just like throwing them a new character that isnt theirs without any means of learning about the difference in skills and race default stat.

They don't do it because that would give people an advantage over the next person. A team filled with DE's OP racial that or Orc Racial, will not die within the time frame. They are making it so EVERYONE is the same as the class being played by the next.

You mean the I hit 2 buttons and watch it fall over dead playstyle? lol :D kidding kidding.

Its forced to this to create a set of standards really, so that its about teamwork and coordination, not vast amounts of l2 knowledge dwarfing your competition because they dont know that under specific circomstances this race with this class with this tatue setup and this enchant level will do X, Y and Z to specific class under specific armor etc. NO SA's, no Tats, no nothing, this is going to be weird.

The schedule shows the match times. It does not show who you are fighting next, that information is in the bracket.

My questions and my opinion based on me and what many friends and randoms are interested,asking,disappointed etc.

1.This party setup is an example OR this is how it will be no matter the class players have registered?

2.If 1=yes, is it fair from your side to add "Feoh Wizard – Dark Elf" and "Othell Rogue – Dwarf" while the 1st race-class if the strongest of Feoh Wizards and the 2nd is the worst of Othel Rogues?
In the meanwhile many parties did not knew this from beggining, and might not search for someone who was Feoh Mage etc but they took another class. (I'm giving an example, truly one)
Players must have the race-class they have on their own character and to not be changed like this. This is fair.

3.Something really important that all reserved players are asking non stop.
IS IT fair ... to ask from each party 2 reserve members, and if they will be needed to fight while the basic members will not be able or no matter what happens, the reserve will not get any reward at all?
You should say this from the begging of this event so reserve players should find a slot in a basic party in order to obtain a reward and to not have all this stress and be anxious for nothing. What is the point of all these reserved players registered while they could find a basic party? No reason at all. Is something like killing monster and not obtains experience and to continue like that.
Many players and friends are disappointed about this term.

Juji,

I suggest you to discuss with your colleagues about allowing SA on weapons, set option on armors, and possibly-- at least +4 enchantments on them. We can live with no tattoos, no dualclass, no skill enchantment. But without those SA and set options, certain classes like nukers and healers are going to be garbage with low casting speed. Nukers are already perma dead in the current state of game. If you take away their offensive capability too, they might as well stay dead.

Giving no acuman SA on mage weapon makes the class utterly usless, base casting speed on DE is horrible already. No tatoo's/shirts/hats/SA will make a horrible slow casting speed no mage wants to play with.
Using this setup, groups with archer/summoner will win 90% of the time.

Also, if you're going with set races, why not set all races to human which is the only race that covers all possible awakening classes naturally and is the standard, "balanced" race in almost all MMOs with multiple races.

I understand and agree with the same weapons, armor, cloaks, jewelry this just this levels the playing field. However, why the race restrictions...... that's odd. I usually play an LE summoner, and as a summoner I don't mind switching to human, but why not allow the use of blessed beast shots?

I am looking forward to the event, and hope all have some fun.

since you seem to have it set in your mind to create some kind of fake pvp that does not reflect Lineage II at all (with the one healer set up, and 7 different classes), I'll operate under that assumption...

Granted, not having SA options and armor set options will absolutely, utterly destroy any credibility of the winner as the "best" more so than you already have by restricting the class choices. This set up will completely favor any group with a summoner, and strongly disfavor any group with a mage. It would have been far more accurate (in showing who is the best) to allow people to use their live toons, and only restrict the use of consumables (pots, brez, etc)... but whatever.

At a minimum, please modify your decision on Special Ability's of weapons.

p.s. if you would like advice on how to create a good bt event msg me on this forum, I think everyone likes the idea of the event, but so far the restrictions/rules show how out of touch NCstaff is with the game itself, unfortunately. I'll be happy to share my ideas! =)

What do you expect if the server will be available 2 hours before the tournament? People, who know how to handle this are making preparation team schedule 5 days before the tournament and teams have enough time to actually prepare (and that includes to make orc tank if you like to)!

This includes e.g. normal soe from grocery? What if one accidentaly buys an item and then destroys it before the match, then the whole team will be disquilified?

Usualy if you die in colliseum you dont loose exp. Probably they will keep this rule also on event server.

Honestly i don't think they will let you run around server, you might as well spawn in GM Room after character cration, and there is no way out of there. And the organisators might just summon you outside for the pvp with opposite team and then return you back to gm room after :D

And if the pvp's will be held as party duels style like on innova, the place where pvp happens can be anywhere, not just in stupid coliseum .) Diff locations might bring some more fun to the fights.

I'm writing regarding race/class combo because it's written as subject to change.

Juji, as I see from testing you do I'm sure you are aware of GM builder level 1 commands and capabilities, therefore you could easily let players choose freely their race/class combo without too much trouble for your self.

What you would have to do is to make 8 macros like this:

//setparam level 99
//setclass < class ID of Knight/Rogue/healer etc > Because there are 8 classes, you'd need 8 macros for that)
//set_skill_all
//set_noblesse

This macro would make any character level 99, would grant him his class, his skills and would make him noblesse. To make whole process fast and streamlined you could do it 1 class at the time. You would call upon all tanks for example, they would come and move on. Next healers etc. It would take like 15 or 20 min to press those macros 200 or so times on every tourny player.

The meaning of this event as all events is people to enjoy it, to have fun and eventually if they worthy, to win. If it is bad organized, it is normal people to not enjoy it, to not have fun and to care less about winning it. It is natural people to want things to go smoother in order to enjoy it :) And sometimes a feedback is a thing, that people, who organize it, should look closer at. Nothing wrong in that. The decision however is always in NCwest hands. But you can't really stop people of feeling bad, while in game it should be opposite :)

i personally like the rules :) only fear for healer with no SA on weapon for all others is ok ... as ppl pointed out if you can choose race that adds skills that matter in pvp and it wont be same for all ... like this all teams have same start and same chance to win.
just look the last tournament from 2006 how ppl in S grade armor max lvl fight ppl in A grade unbalanced unbalanced in party class setups and so on, here is same class / same lvl / same gear / same race for all .. true chars wont be perfect setup they can be but how 1 team will be better then other unless those who play the chars do better or worse ?

They arnt doing it this way because its the easiest lol. They are doing it to standardize.. trust me, i hate being a human also but its the best move.

I understand the entire purpose of this event is for PR, and that you do not really care who is the best... but you do realize that you are being inconsistent in even this.

Without offering set bonuses, every single person is going to wear heavy armor, and you will not have people even wearing robes or maybe light armor.

What is the point of roleplaying with different races, not allowing people to choose their skills that they are use to having, the race they are use to having, and the classes they prefer in their party if you are not going to also roleplay armor set ups?

The deathmatch was held for the +1 slot of the 5+1 allocated to Shilen server. Replacing the disqualified teams with deathmatch runner-ups (or runners-up, whichever's fine) would only make sense if the deathmatch winners were the disqualified team...

I understand the entire purpose of this event is for PR, and that you do not really care who is the best... but you do realize that you are being inconsistent in even this.

Without offering set bonuses, every single person is going to wear heavy armor, and you will not have people even wearing robes or maybe light armor.

What is the point of roleplaying with different races, not allowing people to choose their skills that they are use to having, the race they are use to having, and the classes they prefer in their party if you are not going to also roleplay armor set ups?

Well, on this matter i agree with Munchie.

They disqualified 2 teams. MetalDoll group was the last to stand vs us (CEO was tank). Before him, there was 3-4 ppl from Munchie group.

So, i agree that they should call the 2nd and 3rd that stand up there instead getting others. Was not this the purpose of deathmatch?

No, Deathmatch's purpose was to qualify 1 team for the deathmatch winner reserved spot, not just for any spot.

EG: team 1 team 2 team 3 team 4 team A. 1-4 are selected via the rules, which indicate is on first come basis, team A is selected via deathmatch. If team 2 is DQ, the spot moves to whoever signed in 5th place. 1 and A are 2 totally different selection processes.

Besides the GMs admitted it was their fault in replies to us, but that if they were to allow us a rematch they'd have to fix what they did on other servers. :rolleyes: Furthermore, not my fault they were worried about GMs sniffing through their logs ;o

If you like we can upload the fraps )) showing cyberheal getting insta res (quick fingers) during sudden death :D, not our fault the GMs had all eyes on metaldoll getting buffs/heals through the coliseum doors. Sad fact is Kinky's group was dominating s7orms group and if it wasnt for us choosing to knock our the stronger team s7orm wouldnt even be through :D; funny how both fear groups that had 3 heroes in each were the weakest ones.

I've only ever name changed once and that was on my duelist transferring from Bartz to Sayha in like 2008, I've held the same name on Shilen since day 1.

And I saw all of the ressing that was going on at the end of the match, it was ridiculous. But crying over a game? Come on man....L2 isn't even THAT fun anymore.

Some suggestions if you allow me :

- Change the Beast Soulshot / Blessed Beast Spiritshot to the version with a null weight (currently 1).

- Allow us to store in warehouse for free (at coliseum). I don't need all cloaks for all classes

- Don't let us at 0% xp at 99, I had the feeling there were some problem during the first match because of it

99 and 0% xp means hi delvl when ISS ress is used which results in grade penalty for wearing R99 when your 98 lolz..

If you are not sure what time your match starts at, please use the following website: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html (Choose USA-Washington-Seattle, enter your match date/time as displayed on the website, and click on “show result”. Then search for your country’s capital in the list and you will get the correct time for you).

Event Server Availability
The event server will be available up to two hours before the start of the first match, so that you can create your macros and prepare your character. You may practice with your team during this time. The event server will close down after the end of the last match for the day.

Note: Any items, skills, or quests acquired before the matches will result in your team's disqualification from Battle Tournament.

Team Composition
It is NOT possible to change your team composition during the tournament. If you have missing team members and no substitutes available, you can choose to either fight with a reduced team or forfeit.

I suggest you to discuss with your colleagues about allowing SA on weapons, set option on armors, and possibly-- at least +4 enchantments on them. We can live with no tattoos, no dualclass, no skill enchantment. But without those SA and set options, certain classes like nukers and healers are going to be garbage with low casting speed. Nukers are already perma dead in the current state of game. If you take away their offensive capability too, they might as well stay dead.

IMO from what ive see nso far and what i remember since i dont play anymore.. Nukers will do well and hit hard because its even. They are only gimped due to the archer toggle and the rediculous archer gear out there.. on a even field it wont be nearly as bad.

there are too many good/hand players that just arrived to the game. u sell claimed clans should look at us.

want too see the battle against izee party x shadoway party.

btw i saw the matches, most of teams got lucky that gms are blinded.

so i dont understand why team Genocide are still in the tournament when half their member are on chronos and the other half on magmeld... they should be disqualified.
