right click the lineage2 exe and go to porperties then go to compatibility and check the compatibility mode box and run in windows 7 or older
You might be trying to log on during maintainence. wait about 30 minutes and try again if that is the case.
no game does not support windows 8 you must use compatibility mode
game is old and they dont update it with anything but spin the wheel crap... there would be more players if thegame worked for windows 8 because most people dnt care enough to try compatibility mode on such a old game rather than just play somthing else

Or he is trying to log on while the servers are down. It could be anything, if the OP tries to log on after the servers are back up, then it could be a Win 8 issue or a corrupted copy of the client (darn those private servers and their mucking with the client). It could be anything. All we can do is just offer advice on how to solve is problem.
