Due to issues with this year's battle tournament it would make some feel those who made it into the semi finales are no more qualified than those who made it to the quarter finals. Strict rules were not followed, or set allowing certain teams to take/have an unfair advantage.
Can you really say too bad to those who fell victim as a result of these problems and that they are any less deserving of this reward? This is almost as bad as saying: "Some get away with botting, too bad for you." Just about every quarter final participant is fairly well known as a competitive active player. I fail to see a reason why those players are any less deserving.
How does the community feel about this? Hopefully if many come to agree, the Lineage 2 staff will also.

GMs not following their own rules,
GMs playing favoritism by giving tips via pm.
Lack of respect to the players from the GMs
Inconsistency w/ match timers in the 1v1.
Inconsistency in regards to player buffs/ cool down resets in the 1v1.
Inconsistency with DQs. (looking back I saw 4-5 nukers accidentally blink out in the official videos)
Res not working the first day, but it sure was checked before hand on the second day.
Skill reset during the countdowns not being enforced, though fixed on day 2.
Rumble seeing as how your team was able to come into the last final I can see how you could care less. I personally cannot really see many of those who did not make it past the quarter finals as "scrubs". DiegoVargas' party is included.

28 was too many to begin with, it should have always been 7. I agree though that the majority of the quarter final players deserve it as much as the semi-finals players.
There is little chance we will get another tournament in the near future and many of those who had participated in this will not likely be around in the next year, or two. None of the original battle tournament winners are still around. I also know a few of the characters that will be winning gold names as of now are alts and not likely to be played.
Keep in mind these 5x characters are not just on chronos, so it will not be seen as a zerg of gold names. 5x players out of the thousands.
This was supposed to be a fun competition to show who is the best at this game. I actually hate the idea that there are going to be even 28 Gold Names. 56 Gold names makes it even less special to be honest. I would love to see rematches, just because I like to pvp, but at the end of the day 56 Gold names is probably the most ******ed idea someone could come up with. I would have liked it be either one of three ideal for the gold names:
1. Just winners of the tournament get gold names INCLUDING STAND-INS
2. Top 2 teams get gold names as long as they are from different servers INCLUDING STAND-INS
3. Top team from each server get gold names INCLUDING STAND-INS (if there was a bracket tie, hold a Bo3 tiebreaker)
I really hate the fact that people are coming to this forum attempting to publicly humiliate NCsoft. I know some people got cheated and others feel cheated and my heart goes out to them, but this is the completely incorrect way to go about things. This will forever deter NCwest from attempting anything like this ever again and that makes me more sad than anything else.

oh i am 100% for rematches, but i voted yes simply because NC cant do anything for them at the moment, they already blew off any chance of rematch and this is the only thing they could do to compensate really.
and for FYI my team did win the first 7v7 and we were going to win the 2nd 7v7 if the other team didnt exploit the GM reset of skills.

Sad there is not 7 people in the NCWest office (Beside Vali, Cryo, Juji since I am not counting GMs like Sparse, Pommo, Spam & so) he would have been may be fun to do such a PvP
The only reason people are asking for gold names is because NC is obviously too stuck or forced to their schedule and won't change their minds about rematch therefore this is about the only way people that got shafted can have their issues partly resolved.

I may have came off as confusing because, I do feel all of the quarter final people are as deserving, but because there were not rematches... it potentially allowed two teams to be in a position they may have not been.
In this case earning the gold names based on unfair advantages, or bad rules. So yes in a sense they deserve them, but no more than many others. With how things proceeded on many can say they have been granted them unfairly. I do not feel they are any more deserving than the players before them.
Meh. In Light of all the errors, tears, glitches, whatever else may have happened it was a better event then most of NCsofts pay to win events. I (And many others) still had lots and lots of fun.
Had my team been cheated out of a win I would be rather upset to, but asking for a 56 gold names is dumb. Thanks for the event NC, regardless of what everyone says even if my team was eliminated, I still would have had fun because it gave us somthing to do! :D
Concerning this thread we have people voting yes, or no based on the following:
Yes:
- Can see obvious unfairness happened.
- Know many of those not getting a gold name deserve it just as much, or more.
No:
- I got my gold name :D:D
- I could care less about the tournament and who gets rewarded from it.
- I hate some of the players that got owned. GF scrubs.

Going over everything that happened in this thread and during the tournament, if I could recreate the original poll I would. Due to badly followed/setup tournament rules.
It would be changed to: Yes, either just 7 first place players receive a gold name, or all of the quarter final players.
After all, this Tournament was 100% perfect, but was funny to watch and play for those who were there.
I don't know how much of you watch the Football World Cups or European Cups. These are very huge game events on the world, but a lot depend on the luck and on the leader of the match.
For what he gives penalty, when does he agree a goal.
While these are brutal expensive events, to this 1-1 local or wold game championship is nothing.
But they do not rematch if Cristiano Ronaldo break his leg and because his shoes was a wrong product. Or just because the match leader didn't agree a goal for goal, what would be really goal and this decides the match.
So our Lineage 2 team isn't perfect neither, but please this was their first Battle Tournament maybe they repeat it year by year or update by update and they will be better and better too.

What I did like it is the lots of haters in the twitch.tv chat through the matches, who did shout to every players who was in match that cheater, or flamed the game or flamed the NCsoft.
Much of us would use the chat, that talk about the actual match or cheer for his/her favorite team.
Now imagine your football match 1st half lasting 60 mins randomly and a player getting random red card in that overtime (w/o any pauses added for injuries etc). Bet it would be fun.

Cute analogy, but the argument isn't about the players. It's about the company hosting the event. I bet you none of the players would be happy if the refs just started making random calls about whatever they wanted and said deal with it. You'd have players walking right off the field.
the analogy isnt quite good, in those football games you do not see the rules of the game changed on the fly or asking for what is allowed during the game when rules are already set from the beginning. the tournament was far from 100% perfect either, mistakes were made and corrected, from rez to double use of skills. i understand its hard to repeat a whole day of matches, they have to follow a schedule with the events besides more work hours but overall im glad this tournament happened from the spectator point of view.
I don't think they should deprive anyone of their gold name or other prizes. I don't like how some of the events of last weekend went down, but I also wouldn't try to take away from any of those teams. I tip my hat to dismiss and the other naia teams for making it as far as they did. I'm proud of both Nova teams that made it to the final, and I hope there is another tournament next year so I can participate (I had my wedding the first weekend of the BT, so I signed as reserve on Vargas' team).
