New update, healer question!

General Discussion Started Last reply 36 posts
On new update, what's The best set for healer on Pvp? Heavy, light or robe? Some ppl says elf can still use heavy! What Your opinion?
Dark Elf on Robe for 1x1
Robe or Light because Heavy will stuck cast speed. Franatic healing dont work with heavy.

Maybe people will use mixed heavy / robe with scripts to change armor when cast heal skills and back to heavy.
Actually, given the change to Frantic Healing's effect, the fact it doesn't work with heavy armor is a good thing...
Any healer have opinion?

Robe +wep HEALT +con tattos? I think is a nice setup!

You can test @ RU PTS and take your own conclusions.
They have PTS because INOVA have more founds than NC.
PTS spend some money and players don't need PTS, we are americans.
ill keep my heavy set.
heavy, knight harmony, +13 wit. 1900c.speed, gg.
and idc of frantic healing, for me they can even remove it from my skill list
I doubt that the increase in HP and shield defense will make up for the loss in defensive capabilities, after the damage on most classes will skyrocket due to the boosts... So my conclusion is to keep my heavy set.

idk from where do you see this as a "good thing", since its clearly a nerf, not a upgrade - only healers are getting the sh it out there from all classes, while they are being boosted even more.

For the OP's question: No doubt and hands down --> Shillen Saint Aeore. The max 20% matck at 99 and with lumi OE for -mdef will shine over all others healers in 1vs1 pvp, and even at solo pve. Basically the set option wont change, but you'd have to know when change to suit at each situation (against higher DD like yul, or against healer/mages, just depends on situation to suitch between heavy/light/robe). ++CON tattos are useless for healers, imo, since you can restore full hp/cp in matters of seconds, then for what spend on that? resist stun or any physical debuff? work to get boss jewels instead, they'll work better. If you plan focus on 1vs1 pvp, go all the way for ++INT/WIT mix. The heavy downside for all DE characters is the share of Disparition with all classes, since now everyone will be able to pick this wonderful racial as a wannabe skill. I love Shillen Saints, but I hate NCsoft or those f ck ing korean nerds - they never know how to manage this game, seriously, and always find a way to screw the things up.

she/he did it, already here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=256141)

but NCsoft keep thinking healers are overpowered in pvp and try to force them to use robe/light by restricting FH if heavy set is being used. They refuse to see the obvious.

they say the majority of healers in korean servers is played by women, well, if this is correct, then I guess all those women must have a serious mental problem s or suffer from hard domestic violence or something similar. I bet 50 Shades of Gray is on the top of their school's books.

True, but get my question..

Elf Healer:

1.Robe+Acumen+con Tattoo = To mutch Cast and Low P.def? (can use Frantic)
2.Robe+Duals+wit = Nice Cast and more HP? Low P.def. (can use Frantic)
3.Heavy+Duals+wit= have 1750 cast? Nice P.def
or Heavy+Cast
No use for the cast when you actually nerf yourself now while wearing heavy.Chain healz cost 589mp, panic heal cost is also increased to 289mp or so.
So if you decide to wear heavy you first lose all the MP bonus off the robes, then you also lose the HP bonus and then you lose the frantic heal.Light seems the next good option as its good even now and FH works with it.

The effect of Frantic Healing has changed to consume MP when activated. You just need to stand in town, pop Frantic and see your MP ticking down faster than spamming Panic Heal with Frantic and heavy armor on now.
So, the fact it can't be used while wearing heavy armor is good, given the new MP eater function of this skill.

screens are the ones posted in the link Astarothy posted above. there i had seraph, cos he/she asked screen of seraph, buff lvl1, no forces.
need to take one in group for pvp, with forces etc and eternal, now im kinda lazy.
about the question:
robe+acumen = 2 shot from yul, maybe if you are lucky 3shots
im not a fan of duals, so i cant talk for it, never used and ill never do it, i like my acumen.
frantic healing imo is almost useless, beside if someone wanna use it ONLY in critical conditions, for the rest +50%c.speed but + 30%mana consumation? no thank you. yeah i'll have cap c.speed but my mana will be empty in 10heals; beside if you dont use a mana up weapon.
at 99 with skills enchanted i dont empty my mp bar in pvp (salvation full restore my mp when i die and reuse of rebirth is short), so i find myself pretty nice in heavy, knight and full wit dyes.

The current effect of Frantic Healing is ok for me, I joined some group PvP campaigns and never once I had MP problems... Well, I also use a Mana UP Buster.
It's the Lindvior effect that makes Frantic Healing a skill that's best kept outside of the skill bars, imho.

does that 20% matk even give 5% increase in damage? i dont find it amazing but its decent, more damage is better than none
and that racial is not wonderful for everyone, its very good for some and meh for others. i used on all chars except those that can cleanse themselves. remove target but still being able to be hit? yea that is no problem for some classes. i only take it because of debuff removal. unbind remove all debuffs and you can be immune to debuffs 10 sec and i find it much better. the skill you ignored on SE is more important imo

It gives a ~9.6% boost in damage.
It gives a ~9.6% boost in damage.

Have you tested this number? According to the old formulas, it should be somewhere ~4.48% increase in damage. Have they changed mechanics?

nope

old formula is still valid, you're just doing it wrong :)
sqrt(20) = 4,47 => wrong
sqrt(1,2) = 1,095 => OK

When you increase m.atk by 20%, you increase damage by 9.5%.

I stand corrected!
Keeping the heavy unless mana costs become a significant problem. We have healers now getting insta-killed by turbo-charged DPS classes. I shuddered to imagine the outcome in robes.
wow, @mixa, I just got depressed by the numbers you popped out, what the fc k... time to try to max enchant my progressive heal right now.

anyway, if any healer plan to go for pvp, just forget about robes (dont even need take it out from your wh, imo), since at best and lucky, you should resist only the 10s from celestial, maybe 1 or 2 heals later, no more than this. Ofc, excluding the ones that can afford gazillions of draco potions, WQHP and juices from store - and for me, this is a real downgrade for the class, that must to rely on outside tools (not even related to their skill play) to keep it going.

about the racial, maybe they changed unbind, but I dont find it more useful than disparition - as healer as subject, ofc. See, you have a single cleanse (almost no reuse), a 7s protection cleanse (with very low reuse too), then where does lay the usefulness of unbind, since although you are free from debuffs in those 10s, you can still be hitted? I meant disparition as a pvp skill - in the right time, and you can confuse the enemy harassing you, or even gain a few seconds of freedom to cast a survival skill or save someone else, maybe. And the cd is good enough too, only 5min - what means you can use it widely. well, I hope we can test the new racials as the same way we'll be able with the classes.

and @jackl, the result will be clear since now: less players bothering to play the healer class, since obviously you will be aiming to be a free frag wherever you go, if there is pvp. Since now ppl are struggling to get an healer in their party and this will get even worse. As healer player myself, I have to say I'm finding more joy while playing my cute (hierophant) Iss, though.
you dont need daring sonatas for a healer anyway so you can have more than that

except disparition wont save you from aoe damage sometimes. some have aoe w/o target, others have aoe with target but he has the next one near you targeted and you will get hit too. for solo like oly, disparition will save you more than unbind just not from all classes. as a healer you have purge anyway, maybe you can find other skills that suits you better. as a dd who has no way to remove debuffs both are viable.
Wep acumen?

Disparition allows you to avoid direct damage. Also in the time it takes the DD to realize that it can't target the healer and try to get in position to use its nontarget AOE, if it even has one to use, to hit the healer, disparition wore off.

I find this mildly offensive. Despite the fact I'm Japanese...

The MP boost on Robes is static, given on the Armor, so it doesn't matter as you'll only be gaining a little time in Frantic over Heavy if wearing Robes.

The big nerf is the inability to wear it with Heavy Armor, which means you're Casting Speed will bit be capped outside of BR.

The fact that it now drains MP is an additional nerf to keep the skill from being abused additionally (i.e. in robes) because it will no longer be possible to run around with it toggled on basically 100% of the time with the type of uptime healers have now with this skill.

The skill is massively less "good" post update than it is now, and heavy armor will be a lot less viable because healers with 1-1.2k or so casting speed simply aren't that good for PvP, ya know...

tl;dr

Who still PvP's that doesn't use *******...
Sorry, but what is *********? Try to be legible, at least...

Had some typos in that post that sort of changed the meaning of some statements but I won't bother to correct them now.

Also, mana costs and other things are changed in Lindvior, which will affect PvP dynamics for healers (Panic/Chain heal spam won't be as viable as it is now in long PvP battles).

If healers can +++WIT and still reach 1.8k+ Casting speed in current setup, then I for see many just sticking to that setup. The screenshots up thread suggest this will be the case. Getting +9 WIT only costs something like 30M adena or less so anyone can do that right now...

Depends on how you look at it.

But certain debuffs can really buff the damage of some classes up substantially (or completely interrupt your casts like Mark of Trick) and it only takes 2-3 seconds for you to get the wrong debuff landed on you while 2-3 DDs are focusing the healer (you).

Additionally, it can be nicely used to cover some necessary casts (group rez, rebirth, etc.) at clutch times.

If you can have more than 1750 cast speed with heavy i think that is the best option! BUT YOU KILL SOMEONE WITH 10K M.ATACK? AND sucess debuff?

Ofc you get 2/3 Shots from acher, but with rob you get 1 shot for sure LOL!

Ofc you need acumen in wep.

Can you screen without acumen pls!

For me the options is Heavy+wit+acumen or Robe+con+Healtwep, i realy want see screens with Robe+healwep!

ok so:
Ive +/- 1890 c.speed in HEAVY and KNIGHT.
1999 c.speed in HEAVY and WIZARD.
Weapon r95 acumen+empower (+3, thank you BEWR for fail 1/1 on me)
after this:
I dont do oly, thats why i set +13wit, i've some single pvp or coc (if you wanna count it as pvp lol), but generally my char is set for mass pvp/siege etc, not oly, all things I dont need to kill (or well i hope DDs do their job).
About debuff, lumi land almost everytime, backfire i've +7change, but is kinda useless in mass pvp cos of tree of life, purge, b. purge etc etc.
Beside this, in heavy and knight i got no problem killing a dagger of my same level and gear, a bit more of problems with tyrr cos of the HP/CP they have, but nothing impossible, just long as hell.
I would agree to wear robe if CON was still giving p.def, but since now it gives only HP, even with +15CON i think I would only get 1 shot more from yul. nothing else.
Im gonna make some screens in robe, heavy etc.
Dark elves gonna cry, in fact I'm already crying :) I have 91 WIT, with 2 more dies to apply for 95 WIT, I believe I will merely hit 1850 cast with wizard harmony and daring sonata using Heavy Armor set...
