I cried during the first few trailers, then I got mad and now I am laughing. What a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Def was a roller coaster ride. I played since open beta to a few weeks after GoD came out then quit. I made a l2 forum account when GoD came out to promote this game. Funny how everything changes so fast.
I still remember seeing and playing L2 for the first time during the summer of 2004, at Gen Con in Indy. They had huge screens up showing the prelude video, and tons of pc's where you could play.
Watching this video, I would say the game is missing those days :
- Some lore
- Some consistency in the update. Look at C4 update for example, they added Goddard and Rune. But those towns were already quoted in the main lore / story and were not such a big update. Can we say the same regarding Magmeld ? Not sure :(
- Some epicness in the raids, some difficulty. Remember there was a first time for Antharas. It was "omg awesome they did it !". There was a first time for Valakas, for Frintezza, and even on Beleth with Redsky. People will say "we don't care it's PvE" but still, this was an achievement. Did you got any achievement lastly ? Hitting Octavis who is running in a circle for ages ? The only achievement would have been Trasken, hell it's totally bugged
- Less bugs. They are simply ruining the game experience :D

I agree. Comparing the amount of detail of the lore in the legacy website with the current lore provided from GoD onwards (which has been promptly deleted, since it's available in-game through the dialogues of the Awakening and Split Destiny quests), the balance is heavily in favor of pre-CT1 lore. Which is sad :(
