I wanted to start this thread pertaining to the gaming performance of L2 and your machine. I'll start with mine, its not overly impressive but it does the job.

Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 (Red)
MB: Asus z68Pro
CPU: Intel i7 2600k (OCed to 4.4Ghz Water Cooled)
Video Card: GForce GTX 280 Superclocked (1.25Ghz DDR3)
Ram: Kingston 32 Gig (Forget the Model)
Hard Drive: 128 SSD Primary (Windows 7 Ultimate and Lineage 2)
Secondary: 1 TB Western Digital (Blue Drive 7200 RPM)
Power Supply: PC Power and Cool 750W
FPS Average Hunting: 80-120 depending on area High Graphics
FSP In Aden Next to Kartia: 8-9 High Graphics
My pc is similar.

2500k
asrocks something i forgot lol..
128gb ssd (just havent installed my 256 that I've had far too long)
5870 2gb eyefinity version

your gpu is a bit outdated :-P as is mine.

I get some annoying twitching when i have textures turned on high. Id rather have worse graphics than the twitching. I really only have issues with the high textures when poling though.

A mid-range PC can run this game on average/default settings on a siege with little to no lag and integrated Intel graphics @ 1080p resolution/7.2k platter drive, so I don't know what the point of this thread is supposed to be...

I did just that when I went visit home and used a family member's PC to play.

Are you having some specific issue running the game? The OP gave literally no information other than his PC specs...

If you're talking about the Kartia FPS, NCSoft simply needs to put a Kartia PC in every major city (Aden, Rune, Goddard at least) to spread those players around and not have everyone and their boxed buffer in one small area. No matter how beastly your PC is, your will take a huge FPS hit with that many entities on the screen.
I feel bad posting my PC Details.. :)

AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+
Gigabyte MA790X-UD3P
4GB DDR, Dual
Gigabyte Geforce 8800GTX, 512MB
2,5 TB HD, 3 OS(1 W7, 1Debian, 1OpenSolaris)
22'' Philips WS
17'' Philips CRT
Razer: Mouse(Deathadder Black), Keyboad(Anansi), Headphones(Carcharias)
Laptop HP Probook 4530s
Intel Core i5 2430M CPU @2.4 GHZ
2x 4GB RAM
Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD
750GB HDD on DVD drive slot
Replaced screen for 1080p support on 15.6"
Razer Naga,Nostromo,Carcharias

Having lag in major towns, big FPS drops in sieges, so I'm minimizing drawing NPC/PC count and distance. It is playable during PvP with low-mid settings, but always need to speed movies up by at least 1.2x for acceptable frame rate.

enough to run 7-9 windows :) or play in sieges with small lag and ~15-20fps

and it's better than my old one p4ht 3.2GHz, 2GB ram and nvidia 5200fx :D
386SX-16MHz

1GB Hard disk

Nah.

Things relevant to L2 are (missing out the hardware development tools, other drives etc):-

Main PC: Simple Dual core 3.0GHz PC, 8gb RAM, 120gb SSD, Geforce 1gb graphics, and 10mb ADSL,
twin 20" 1600x1200 HDMI Monitors ( I like the square aspect)

Dual box PC, dual AMD Athlon 2600+ dual core, 10gb RAM, 60gb SSD, 27" 1920x1080 monitor.

Skype/Vent/TS PC: Shuttle ATX small footprint AMD1900+, 1GB ram, 15" 1024x768 monitor.
386SX-16MHz
2mb EDO RAM
1GB Hard disk
...
Expensive HD and faster memmory, my old 386 run into 80MB hard drive and 2mb simm.

Main:
Core 2 duo E8400
250GB hard disk
4gb ram dual
n52
nvidia gt9800
1920x1080 42'' display

Dual box / out of my home notebook:
core i3
300gb hard disk
integrated graphics card (intel hd full slow motion, never appear red marks on epic spezzion :p)

10mb dsl
core i5 2500k + gtx 560 ti + 8 g ram + 500g hd sata 3
And play with full graphics without lag.

Its called Fun, try it, you might like it.

Nasa Supercomputers lag at siege, don't ask me how I know this.

Nasa Supercomputers lag at siege, don't ask me how I know this.

And it's good to know how little you can run the game or how much difference better components might make.

My 3 year old gaming PC:
Intel core i5 @ 3.44 ghz
8gb DDR 3 1600 mhz RAM
nvidia 570 GTX 1gb overclocked on 27" ASUS HD monitor, 21" HD secondary monitor.
2x 1TB HDD 1x 260GB HDD (really need to invest in a solid state, but haven't gotten around to it)

I just dual/3 box on the same machine on my secondary monitor, I don't get any lag except in Aden and sieges ofc. Anyone out there play from an HDD then move to a SSD? Just wondering if it mainly impacts loading or if it helps with siege lag - because if it does I'll get off my butt and get one finally xD

How do you know this ? :D
Mouse : SteelSeries XAI

POLLING RATE / MOUSE HZ : 1000
OS : Windows 7 Ultimate x64
PC Specs :
System Manufacturer : Gigabyte Technologies Co., Ltd. GA-MA78LMT-US2H
Video : Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 (1024 MB GDDR5)
BIOS : Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor : AMD Athlon(tm) II x4 645 Processor (4 CPUs) ~3.1 GHz
RAM : 8gb
Disk Space : 4.2TB (3 seperate disks C ; D ; F + 1 E DISK SSD 200 GB)
INTERNET : 100 Mbps
I recently completed an update to my rig (was previously LGA 775):

CPU - i7 3930k oc'd to 4.5Ghz (LGA 2011)
MB - Gigabyte X79-UD3
RAM - 16 GB Corsair Dominator @1866
GPU - EVGA GTX 690
PSU - Seasonic 1000W Platinum
System Disk - OCZ Vertex 4 256GB X2 in Raid 0 (this is probably the single best part ofthe upgrade)
Storage - 3 X WD Green 2TB in Raid 5
Monitor - Dell 27" Ultrasharp (want to replace this and soon!)

Obviously this is overkill for this game. My bottleneck is internet latency (as I play from New Zealand). that being said, I have no other game play type issues and it crushes all of my other games :)

Inch.

Sounds almost the exact build of my old pc. I need to put it back together so i can have a 3rd pc for boxing.
i5 (<- So you can run L2 while having other programs running as well, anything higher than i5 won't do much more, as L2 is single threaded)
8Gb RAM (<-- For boxing if needed)
Intel SSD 330 240GB (<--- MOST IMPORTANT FOR L2 for loading textures quickly)
Geforce GT 540M (<-- for smoothness of the game, not too important if you settle for lower gfx settings)

So yea this ~$500 laptop can 4box perfectly fine with 1 client on high details (the main one)
How do you know this ? :D

He said don't ask him, now he is going to have to kill you!

:)
Allienware Laptop becouse i am univercity student and i have to move a lot!.Also half price was gifted by my mom for having some nice grades :)Could never afford to buy it alone.

And this weekend im gonna upgrade GPU to Zotac Geforce GTX 660Ti 2GB.
AMD PhenomII x6 1100T
Gigabyte GA-790FX-UD5P / AMD 790FX chipset
Sapphire Radeon HD4870x2 2x1GB VRAM
16 GB RAM, some low latency Kingston I think
180 GB Intel SSD 320 series + 2x1GB spinning rust in Raid0
Some cosmetics (Asus Xonar, DVD-ROM, water cooling)

4 years old but still running OK. Plus couple other computers along those lines but currently I do not use them for gaming, they are stuck in my home Cisco/virtualisation lab. Old gaming rigs with additional RAM make excellent GNS3 servers, among other things :-P

Sidenote: Macbook Air 13'' mid 2012, i5 1.8 GHz, 8 GB RAM, SSD, bootcamped, on lower details works surprisingly well too as emergency/dualbox/travel/laziness fallback.
mine is decent enough :D, still lag a bit on sieges, but not as bad as before

Intel i5-3570 3.40GHz
Geforce GTX 650 Ti 2GB
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
Samsung 840 Series 120GB
23" HD monitor (main) + 20" 2nd monitor
Commodore 64. Beat that.
Commodore 64. Beat that.

OK, Sinclair ZX-81 in working order and being used by my kids :)
ASUS U36SD:
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2410M Processor
- Memory: 2x 4,096 MB Kingston DDR3 @ 667 MHz
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M
- Hard drive model: Samsung SSD 840 Series 250GB
+ Monitor: BenQ G2222HDL :)
just bought new GPU :) nvidia gtx 550 ti. i hope it will be better than current one gt 220 :D
Cpu: Intel Core i7 3770k OC'd at 4.3Ghz ( Might go more but don't really see the point of it )
Motherboard: MSI Z77-A GD65
Memory: 16 gb .G Skill RipjawX DDR 1600 MHZ
Video: MSI Nvidia GTX 660ti Power Edition Overclocked 2GB
Cpu Cooler: Cooler Master Evo 212+
PSU: Corsair 750 watts Modular low noise Psu
HDD: Western Digital 7200 rpm 512 gb ( used for storage and some games )
SSD: 2 SSD's Samsung 830 series 128 gb each one running in Raid 0, 970+ Mb read speed / 680+mb write speed. ( Used for OS, L2 and the games I play the most )
Doubt anyone is running a higher rig than mine, but most important upgrades (in order) to reduce lag is ssd's (prefer in raid 0), more ram, better CPU, better ping. (This of course ignoring the joke that is game guard)

Setup:

CPU: 3960x (had stable at 5.2-5.3 for a long time)
GPU: 4 x 3gb gtx 580s (only pushing 3 monitors)
Ram: 32 GB corsair dominator in quad channel
Mobo: asus rampage extreme iv
Ssd: 3 x Samsung 830 in raid 0
PSU: 2 x corsair 1200s
Cooling: 2 x custom water loops

I still lag in siege. I wish ncsoft would just get rid of game gaurd as it doesn't do much except lag people to all hell. This is the main reason innova doesn't have lag like we do...
Core i7 2630QM
2x2GB DDR3-1333
Geforce GT 540M
Some Seagate 750GB HDD

I have a sneaking suspicion Lineage 2 doesn't play well with Nvidia Optimus, but I can't manually add the process to the Nvidia control panel profile, since the process is hidden. :c

Your pc is a bit overkill :) would rather have 3 pcs than yours :)

LOL, you have ever play at innova? Lots of ppl have lags there. They dont have GG, they have worst - rootkit-like system Frost, which have a botnet functionality. You cant control it, it may use you PC for sending spam, use your PC power to make some other tasks, anything. Typical rootkit, under control of some unknown people in Armenia, the birthplace of Innova prez, lol(it was said by Innova, its really in Armenia). You wanna install this crap to your PC? I do not want.
And still bots work there, all top clans (and not only top) are using pvp cheats, easy to buy this program, same as here. So whats the difference?

L2 is not using even 30% from your PC, thats the main problem. Its very very old game engine that not using new CPU/GPU instructions. Not even using these parts on 30-40% of their resourses.

But think about, if L2 was using your PC like all new games, GPU at 100% and CPU 70-80. We all would play any siege on any details without any lag. BUT.... bots cant run even 2 clients on 1 pc :) dont want to talk that they run more than 10 on 1 machine with 1 videocard and 6gb ram.
Who said I built the PC for L2? Lol...

The PC is overkill unless u wanna play any game in 5760 x 1080 on max details, or are an over clocking enthusiast, or fold, or are into water cooling...

I didn't say frost was better, I said Game guard adds a ton of lags that aren't needed since and is worthless since the program doesnt do anything to prevent cheaters. And yes I have messed around on innova, and I don't lag at sieges with max details.

Edit: an pando media booster is just as dumb...

8Gb DDR2 800Mhz
EVGA GTX460 SC(768Mb) SLI ~825Mhz/1950Mhz (core/memory)
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion

My system is not overly impressive, but it does the job just fine. I can run 3 windows at 1600x900. One in lower mode (AFK shop anyway) and 2 in high details mode (not maxed - 2x AA used), getting somewhere between 30-50FPS. Only Aden and Gludio are the lag-holes where FPS drops to and under 15...

Also worth to note, when I open a 4th L2 box (after maintenance not possible anymore to use it :p) my graphical driver crashes and only L2 has this problem...
