Returning to your Pre-GoD Class

This is a simple question...

Many of us, awakened something different from what we were, via Stone of Destiny, because our old class got extinct and the new version of the class was not interesting enough to be a main.

This poll has 2 questions and 4 answers. Each answer has a reply to both questions.
YES and NO

Those that picked a different class with the Stone of Destiny and then thought to have a 'tactical decision' now will have to live with it. I do not only mean the old Maestros who went Rogue, but it goes for everyone who picked a different class as main.
Fact is.. Maestros that awakened Tyrrs didn't get their classes destroyed...but for example DNs, GKs, SWS, BD, SE, EE, Domi.. and some other got extinct.. being the new classes a complete and utter joke to what their class was in the past. Ofc they would awaken as something different.. but now that their classes are comming back.. why shouldn't they be allowed to go back?

The class reduction/extinction was a NCSoft mistake.. not a player mistake.
Hm for me ... i like my Wynn summoner and Healer and no i dont want back my old classes.

Juji already told you, that is not possible change your class back.
Actually, Maestros were destroyed by the GoD update (like every other class out there). If you read back in the forum history (or on my blog), you'll see me complain more than once that Maestro would be an obsolete class because all dwarfs get the craft lvl 14 skill. So what was the reason to become Tyrr Warrior when as a dwarf Othello Rogue you can spoil AND craft.
Not to mention, Maestro as Tyrr Warrior was a totally new class created, which I had to 'learn' all over again. I still think a lot of skill are missing (my lil' golem to name one) and a lot of them should not be there at all.

With my reply I was only saying that those who took the 'easy money road' at GoD release and went dwarf Othello Rogue should now pay for it and be nothing more than a spoiler. No way back for 'mistakes' made in the past ;)
And you were still able to keep your class/race goal/trait.. which is the craft.

For example, DNs that awakened Tyrr's, lost 80% of their efficiency in PVP and about 50% in PVE.

GKs got completely obsolete as well.. our previous GK Heroes on Teon/Naia, quit because the new Tyrr was a joke.

For example, my tank until 95 can have more patt than most Tyrrs I met.
I did vote to "YES and NO", I did say to everyone in february or march of 2011, that they will take back later the old classes.

That people called me idiot, because I say this and lets look only I was who told it while millions of L2 players no.

So I guess those who did use Stone of Destiny to change to another classes lets just use the path what they did change.

I was Fortune Seeker my original path was Othell Rogue I did change it, now I can change again the Fortune Seeker so I will change it. It is so simple.
If I had awakened tyrr.. I would've quitted 2 weeks later.
I've voted No and yes... I'm Not a pre-GoD player, but think about it: if NC gave the right to choose with the SoD, why can't SoD users have the right to choose again which path they want to take?
I like the principle of the choice being given. What players do with it, it's a case-to-case matter.

Going your original path will in no way create imbalance as others are complaining. This is a good idea because there was no way of foreseeing these changes a year and a half ago.
I also voted No and Yes. While I am personally happy with the choices I made when GoD went live (Maestro->Tyrr->Tyrr Maestro, Grand Khavatari->Tyrr->Tyrr Grand Khavatari etc.), I can see that some classes got disfigured beyond recognition in the Awakening process. Soultakers losing their servitors, Soulhounds being turned from rapier fencers into mages etc. pp.

Like KingBuff said, when GoD went live at NCWest on November 30, 2011, nobody could know that Tauti would send L2@NCKorea into a downwards spin on January 11, 2012, that the Clan War System introduced with Glory Days on April 25 would break their neck, and that the developers decided to take a new direction in May 2012 (http://www.inven.co.kr/board/powerbbs.php?come_idx=390&l=961), conveying GoD to the dustbin of history.

The players who used the Stone of Destiny in 2011 acted in good faith. The Stone of Destiny was given out by the company because the developers knew themselves what they had done to the classes, and they knew that many palyers would not be happy with what they were forced into. But then, in the course of 2012, NCWest, driven by greed, put the Stone of Destiny into the cash shop, and players, driven by the desire to win, bought that item to optimize their character, creating race-skill-combinations that would normally not be possible. Punishing those who made such a 'tactical decision' will have an educational effect and I am fully in favor of that. But about those who acted in good faith something should be done.

The question is, what can be done? Juji got told by the developers that NCWest will not get the Japanese class change NPC. But we do not know whether that NPC was actually coded by the developers in Seoul, or by the NCJapan people themselves. NCJapan seems to do a lot on their own. Just look at the current Soul Avatar Agathions. For historical reasons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Korea#Japanese_rule) it is hard to imagine that a Korean developer would sit down and design openly Japanese Agathions, Ninja Outfits etc.
So instead of waiting for help from Seoul, which will not be forthcoming (they are horribly busy with fixing the bugs in Epeisodion (http://lineage2.plaync.co.kr/board/update/list) at the moment), Cryo should contact his colleagues in Tokyo.
Alternatively the NCWest staff could do penance for their greedy behavior, work for a month or two without salary and reset the classes manually.
YES and YES

Also on (Russian) EU Servers will be SoD NPC (you need to have your Legacy Weapon in your inventory).

Anyway I'm completely against a service in the future (somewhere "later this year" ... like Juji said). First of all it would ruin game if everyone can change the class w/o delvling. Second thing: people have to know now what they should expect. It's a question of gear and skill enchanting = our life time.
And yet everyone is running around with tyrrs and yuls. The irony of it all.
dwarfs were weaker before god. who needed them in pvp when there you had better classes? same thing for other weaker classes. kinda glad that classes got on the same lvl with god, too many were weak and others stronger. anyway, i was a lolsorc (what ppl used to say) for years, the style is changed a lot with god but now im a lol feoh. idk why ppl feel the need to changed their class every few months or every update... better create another char if you dont like it. its much easier to lvl now than before.

While I changed Yes and No mostly I do agree with you too.

But the developers did give some signs, that they plan to take back the 35 classes later, one of developer told it in an interview, but since most of people doesn't follow these interviews actively they can't know these things.

But still there are some people who always speculate by change the strongest class type with the strongest race etc.

As you told too in Korea most of people did follow its own path, because they much more like their character or its path or I dunno how to say it.
While most of the EU/NA players wants to be the strongest one.

As I remember you told Yidao, that in Korea the GMs by themselves transformed back those players who did change a class what isn't their original path.

But here many many many many players did change unnatural classes as main. Orc Feoh, Dwarf Summoner, Dark Elf Tyrr etc. So maybe the reason behind that walls, that too much people did mix here their classes also the Re-Awakening Service etc.

I think if the NCwest make this class change service, they should allow, that player would be able to change class inside their race.

Example. Player1 was Titan(Orc) Awakened to Aeore Healer(Orc), he did read the news now want to change class, they should allow to him change Grand Khavatari or Titan (at Orc and Human the mystic/fighter skin different, that is why only GK or Titan).

But I do say lets NCwest transform back everyone to its original class who wants it for 400NCoins, this is deal for the NC and deal for the player and they don't need develop a new service system.
I was an DE SE and now I'm an Iss..love it.
It would be interesting that all that have answered, placed their reasons here. ^^
Was a WR. And will be again tomorrow. What can I ask for more? Oh yea, FD. Gimme that back you NC nuubs.
I would welcome services that allow you to change your class, your dual class, your subclasses, etc. I doubt that I'd be the only one paying for them.

When Lindvior launches, I think everyone should have a chance to pick the class(es) that they'd like to play. As we all know, updates tend to alter the landscape, making some characters less relevant than others. That is the ONLY consistent thing about L2. Playable (and enjoyable) class today, mothballed (and practically useless) character tomorrow. It's ridiculous.

L2 has been around for years, and many of us have customized our characters into toons that we like. Not only that, but the community at large identifies with those characters, too. Why not give players every possible opportunity to reinvent their toons without having to re-roll under a different name, a different race, a different guise? In the real world, you'd simply send workers back to school for training to re-enter the workforce with new job skills that help them compete in the new economy.

L2 would benefit greatly from adopting -- and keeping -- this same approach when it comes to characters and updates. When Lindvior launches they should also roll out all of the class change platforms as well.
They arent going to change it just so you guys can pick flavor of the month or the next OP class. Im sure other people have had this problem in the past ex. daggers in c3-c4 or summoners the entire game till gracia. Sometimes you gotta just bite the bullet so to speak. Over the years (ive been playing since c1) ive seen classes have their ups and downs .. its just l2 guys :D
We're not talking about going back to fotm classes.. we're talking about going back to our previous classes, that got extinct with GoD.

It's not like.. "I was DN, I awakened tank, now I want to re-awaken OP Othell"..

Returning to your old class has nothing to do with being OP. It has to do with returning to the playstyle you used to have and since someone could make a new character and walk the exact same path as them, it would not create any imbalance at all.
Well.. if everything goes well.. I will awaken my new toon today.. dumping a toon from 2006.

Quite a few of us have been around since C1, and a bunch more since beta. :D

What usually happens is people re-roll. (My inner cynic tells me that is precisely what the Devs intend, since it helps drive sales/profits.) Sure, some sheep will opt for the flavor of the month club, but there are others, self included, that simply want to avoid having a well-invested toon that they like sentenced to purgatory for an update or two...or longer. I mean my poor little Prophet hasn't seen the light of day since the early Chronicles. My Kamael Judicator is about to experience a similar fate. :p
My main was delogged 1 week ago.. working on leveling a new DN.. not fotm.. but my old class.. the one that I loved the most... but yeah.. it will be a pain to drop a toon from 2006.

When and if NCWest provides a paid service to revert us.. I will not pay for it.
Oh look another poll; voters: 38 , well gl!
It's not much.. but probably there's not many more from pre-god that use forums. :P
I voted No and No. Personally I am content with my class (thus the first No). The second No I said because I think it will be wrong. If NC allows this, everyone that is not happy with future changes to his class/skills could request the same. GoD was a huge change not only in classes but in gameplay alltogether for some classes and the use of SoD was imperative. Lindvior changes are minimal in comparison (the basics for each class don't really change).
What about all those persons that went to a class, because their previous class got destroyed with GoD update? They awakened something different to try and have fun and stay IG.. now their old class is somewhat back. Not allowing them to go back is ridiculous.

What classes do you have in mind?
What classes do you have in mind?
DN in his case ...
GK/Dominator/Real Spoiler/BD/SWS..
GK/Dominator/Real Spoiler/BD/SWS..

I think I'm just going to roll with the punches and level up an SWS for Lindvior.

My old SWS was awakened as a tank...and I have to say, I kind of like her as a tank. Looking forward to converting her into one of the Sigel Knight paths -- Eva's Templar, Shillen Templar or Hell Knight. Not sure which yet.

Since when can you be an Elf, and have a Dark elf class? Now that is some nonsense.

GF NC.
I think GoD system class was the big mistake of the original L2.

This...
all god's fault (no phun intended)
Well.. still no words from my mates IG..
A nice poll, thanks for trying :) But it probably won't work.

And it seems we don't even deserve an official responce, this will simply get over run by other topics like one of those bot threads.

And btw to LordofSpoil previous statment, no there arent many more SoD users here than in Korea, I am pretty sure that they had many more of those there...
Agree, i was maestro before god, i didn't like tyrr warrior so i bought a main class change ticket... I use to love maestro class.
GK/Dominator/Real Spoiler/BD/SWS..

I can hardly agree with those classes you mentioned. BD/SwS/Dominator are the closest match for current ISS (it seems to be a hybrid of those classes). No way you can say their game "was destroyed". GK style and gear was more or less available to Tyrrs (light armor, fists, totems). FS I admit was changed by becoming a pure dagger but not sure if "destroyed" is the right term for it.

For me a the description "destroyed gameplay" would be fit for let's say Soulhounds who became Feoh. In that case you can say destroyed but this change is still there. It has not been reverted by Lindvior.
No and No.
Yes, Yes Yes !!

1 - Same example above. My maestro was a bad Tyrr so I change it to a Knight (I bought a ticket to change it) because my crafter was preserved. Now if I awaken I loose my crafter! I don't do it so I don't know the future of this char.

2 - If I'm not wrong before GOD dominators were allowed to give buffs not only for clan members but for party too (I think we got an update for this). Now a dominator can't even do kartia group! If a player doesn't belong to clan... no buffs. Is very hard to find a pty exclusively with clan members! How to fix this problem?

3 - Soultaker has lost his pet! Is it normal? Is no more the same char.

These 3 classes are special and must be reverified. For example a main dwarf who pretend to be maestro... why not???

A main Orc Yull (old dominator) who pretend to be dominator... why not?

My idea is: consider the race before the class. All race classes could be available for each player in his race.
Well.. we have no official reply.. or feedback.. this sucks.. :|
If I could get my old Hell Knight skills back with a superior atribute on those from 85-99 I wouldnt hessitate one second :)
