Str stat in lindvior

Did anyone testing this? Remember somewhere Dreacke meantiln that Str will not good effect in lindvior. Currently my dy is 5 str and 10 con leg lvl5. And im Sk Should i make all 15 str and del 10 con?
with all these changes i might change to +15 con, its hilarious how much dmg we have to take from other classes durin pvp
Yeah.. tank is weaker in PVP..

I would make some changes if I were to keep my tank as main class.
Yeah I agree, the huge damage buff all the classes got(which I still got to see if I got it because it seems I'm dealing the same damage) makes playing DD tank even more expensive, I wouldn't even recomend going to any siege without divine elixirs(and even with it yesterday I was hit so hard that my undying will didn't proc).
Well in PvP there just new realities for a tank. No more soloing 7 man parties anymore.

My advice regarding Dyes; 3x lv5 legendary con (+15 Con +3 Str). If you already went full out str (like I did) then I would tweak your setup so that you hit 120 Str and then put the rest in Con UNTIL you can get lv5 leg Con dyes :).

Thankfully in oly tanks are still pretty strong but we just have to play smarter against a few classes now.
Well.. I have some crappy setup atm.. but I also stopped playing my main 'Ykara'.

Eventually in the future, if I get allowed to change sub-2-main or revert to my pre-GoD class, I will fully redo dyes.
theres no point in going past 90 con. str is still the way to go for any type of pvp/oly on a tank.

There are reasons, when I get some more info I'll share it.

Having said that, there really is no point in going beyond 120 str either since that is the break point and the increase in skill crits is minimal after that......

str:

skill mastery
raw patk
crit damage

anything after 100 str really starts adding more and more % to each of the above things. the higher you go, the better the increase of each additional stat point. This has been proven multiple times on multiple classes. going above 120 makes a difference as well, it just may not scale well with crit dmg.

con:

after 90 its pointless. the decrease in chance to be stunned is negligible as its been shown that even going to 200 con doesnt decrease your chance to get stunned. also, epics affect stun success/resist MUCH more than con.

the hp isnt needed on tanks in a pvp/oly setting. they already have high pdef and multiple ud's. adding more to the hp pool doesnt really help when you consider half kills and how much they happen in lindvior along with gloom and the nuker buff.

90 con is all thats needed to get shield defense rate to where it needs to be when considering other passive abilities. after 90 con, the increase in shield defense rate is negligible and doesnt increase like it did before 90 con.

im not trying to insult or anything as i considered a total con build as well. but at the end of the day, hp is a mute point with half kills, shield defense is high enough at 90 con, and the str stat adds way more bonuses in the long run over multiple avenues than any other stat on a tank. unless there was a code change in how everything is calculated in lindvior, str stacking was the best choice in GoD and will be in lindvior too.

edit: another thing to consider. if you dont go +18 str (15 on tats, 3 on hat), how will you ever get enough patk to kill anything or win by damage in oly? maybe the OP's question was not focused on oly. but a decently geared tank can beat 75% of people in oly. a really really good geared tank can beat 95% of people in oly. that last 5-25% of people is who you need to care about from an oly standpoint. when looking at that you either need to out damage your opponent or stay alive long enough to win.

mass pvp i wear an mdef hat as im more focused on hating/chaining/attacking healers, and nukers hurt like hell even with 6k mdef with no ud.
Well.... on my toon tank.. I walk around with 88-90 CON depending on set.
On top of that I add a CON or a PATT Hat.. depending on ocasion.

Been tanking GF in Vesper Noble and w/o Health weapon since 93.. so.. who cares about High CON?

Most former clan mates that criticized me for having low CON, nowadays are trashing their expensive CON dyes to revert to something decent. :)
only 3 reasons I can think of for going CON now over STR is cause of the changes this update with DPS on that what we're supposed to tank..

1. highest possible shield block rate
2. increased physical debuf resistance
3. ~increase HP/CP pool

and this only so you can stay alive a lil longer now that DPS has gone crazy on the DD classes

now to me the above is kind of debatable pending on how good your gear is and the party your in.. if average then yeah going CON makes much more sense now then pre Lindvior...

added point 4 for ya Draecke :D
i was looking at my personal view. i fought a known lv99 mage in oly "Exeqtor" and if i just had a little bit more hp than he woulda have killed himself upon my reflect dmg setup. the +15 str setup didnt help much cause obviously mages dodge and stay outta range.

against wynns, we dont have to discuss, their just overpwnd this chronicle with their marks, cant catch em running around corners and so forth and marks(dots) ignore tanks ultimate defense so ...

Fighting tyrrs is a close up match , if the knight cubic doesnt do its job till the tyrr runs out of mp than i might even lose to them.

it all seems to me the only reason to keep str is for solo pve purpose and for tank class based cause winning due to dmg that ends with. for Open oly i would defiently rather going reflect/con build.

this coming from someone without +6 set.boss jewely. +15 r99 bless weapons or any close to this kind of equiptment.

and yet the fight against such a tank was god **** close lost by me :( so spending 100bil just to do 15k more dmg than a tank without all epicness and 1 lvl before is a joke :) makes me feel good being legit and almost pwning some uber ebuyer :D

this this and that somehow doesnt get added upon my char. i have gottan 121 str but yet to be seen instant refresh upon skills nor a higher skillcrit chance

no the Legendary CON dyes add +1 STR each so he had it right ;)

Class? On a tyrr since it doesn't have the passives of othel/yul skill mastery is about 2-4% depending on your STR.
I'll certainly evaluate STR more as a stat when I'm 99 in decent armor. As it stands right now I just take huge damage compared to what I used to. Even classes I could laugh at previously (archers/daggers) and classes only the best geared could be damaging (tyrr) can absolutely chew through my defenses now.

I'd like to see an updated test with tanks in Lindvior with Con VS block rates for normal hits and for skills both.

It seems like even with knights, clan skills, +10 shield def passive, and over 90 CON skills do not get blocked 100% of the time, or even close. (physical skills that is, not magic).

And the Dot issue with UD certainly doesn't help. Especially with summoners. The knights cubic doesn't proc anywhere near often enough to keep them from spamming marks and shredding down all my HP/CP in moments. They don't even need to attack with pets if they don't want to.

pretty sure knight cubic is a static heal amount and not affected by con or any heal jewels. ill do my own test on this once the servers come up

Knights is a % heal, it will give you back a percentage of your current max hp (10% at max level) every time it procs. it is not impacted by heal jewels or any recovery effects. It's simply a raw % based on total hp. Have 100 HP Max, it will heal 10, have 100k HP max, it will heal 10k hp every proc, etc.

The buff cubic is a static heal amount. I have tried it with prayer and with recovery aura active and noted no difference. The only time I've seen it heal for more is when the heal crits, otherwise it is entirely static according tot he level of the cubic.

yea i see its a 10% now. this is interesting...
Oh yeah, the damage from DD's is fun now ... 25k within from a (top)mage into 8,5k mdef which I have on siege is amazing! I don't think that having a little bit more con would save me at this point :D So i'll stay with my oly STR setup x)
Hello everyone, I am about to Tat up my tank. I am rerolling and the search function brought me here. Is Con better now? Or a hybrid? I understand the 90 con soft cap, but there is benefits to both. My instinct is that you would go with the style of tank you are playing: ST= STR, ET=CON etc. I am torn between ST and ET because of my inexperience with pvp as a tank. The concept of a ST is very appealing to me, as I like to be aggressive, but if damage is really overwhelming from other classes ET could be a good fit for me too. I have a few friends and plan on pvping with them. I have no issues being a meat shield and taunting people. It would be nice to actually kill stuff, but I'm open to what's most effective. I would love some input as dye prices are pretty low right now.

I remember reading in patch notes (tauti) I believe that Dex no longer affects run speed? If that is the case then is a lower STR dye worthwhile? as in lvl 3/4 leg STR +5 -2/1. That is an incredible amount of money saved verses a little bit more physical crit. I'm sure I'm missing something, but that's why I'm asking. Thanks!

About speed moviment, dex influence only classes that have light amor mastery, so don't worry, u can remove ur dex without become a turtle. I have great experience with 120 str and 93 con right now. Don't expect for a DD dmg in pve but with the right augment and weapon (health is important), you will become a pvp machine.
If u wanna try ET, be sure you won't test ST first or u will miss a lot ur lightning strike xD Seriously, PK and ET have 0 long range skills, what is sooo annoying, but ET have really great survival skills (PK is so useless... really).
HK with his phanter can stun so far away or hit the target hide behind a wall or any kind objects and lightning strike is so usefull that u will ask urself how u could live without it before lindvior xD The only thing I miss in shillien templar (and was a promisse in patch notes from dev team) was that cube should use vampiric skills, but no... >.>
And yes, if you go for str, don't think twice before get lvl 4 dyes +5str -2dex. Only tarded people will pay 500kk for 1 legendary str lvl 5 (hey Bartz!).

Yeah, but if you consider the advantages given by Lv 5 Str Legendary dye compared to Lv 4, you would choose the first one without any doubt. What I mean is that if you have funds go for it. You will boost ur STR and CON the same time. In Magmeld the price is similar. Its about 400kk. But sooner or later if you get Lv 4 dyes you will have to remove it and get better ones. I would prefer Lv 4 Str Legendary ones than. You can get 1 for 30k KE with fortress system now.
Legendary STR dyes add +5 STR and +1 DEX so where's the CON boost you're talking about ?

My bad its the opposite actually. Lv 5 CON dyes gives + 5 CON and +1 STR. :)
Awesome! Thanks for the responses. I'm going for str as an ST. With the money saved I'm going augment chasing or perhaps a soul Frint for oly if I can sell enough to get one before prices jump again.
