Lindvior Known Bugs Revisited

General Discussion Started Last reply 11 posts
since Juji closed his post ill come here and speak my mind....Juji, i have to ask.....by posting these "Known Issues" for us here in the L2 community...arent you ( not you personally but as a represenative of NCSoft ) admitting to the incompetence of the company you work for?, you see...if ya had reliable dev team, there would be no "Issues", therefore by posting the "Issues" you are telling the entire L2 community what a poor job the ppl there at NC are doing...and i know ya come here and see what the ppl are saying...and you know they/we/me arent happy. I read earlier a post about a guy who spent $20.000.00 USD in 6 months of time and i am 100% postive there are hundreds of ppl all around the globe soaking that kind of money into this game, not to mention the lower income ppl paying as well to play ( such as myself )...you cannot sit here and tell us that you guys dont have the money to hire properly educated dev team or affluent Korean Translator to properly translate what is being sent from Korea, not to mention, a server maintainence crew. We ALL spend real life/hard earned cash to play this game...and like any investment...we want to see a return on our money, I dont think a few FREE perks or a properly running server is asking all that much for the money we put out. So remember Juji...everytime you post a thread about "Known Issues", just remember.....you are admitting NC isnt up to par :(:eek:
oh so he closed it? Grrr.. and i spent the last 30min looking for it
It was never opened for discussion to begin with.

Just remember that this is an old game, and the accumulation of badly written code can lead to breaking stuff down. The real problem is that the devs are still bound to an old updating method - sending patches every X months - instead of keeping the overseas versions updated and fixed like the Korean one.
A known bug thread is not an admission of incompetence. There are ALWAYS bugs. Unless you never release code live it will always have bugs found by users. They do not have infinite time and resources to test this stuff.

Now, that is not to say that they don't have some pretty big fails there. A REAL PTS would certainly have caught many of the bugs here if done right. But none the less, not everything between a PTS and live is 100%, and nothing as complicated as a game like l2 will ever be 100% bug free.
Let's be real... the PTS servers were launched 2-4 weeks prior to the actual release dates, which has never been enough time to identify and correct all the errors. All PTS accomplished was community sneak peak and hundreds of threads complaining about what should have been done. Look we get updates MONTHS after the Koreans... why we have any game related issues is a mystery, we should only see spelling and definition errors. But as with every thing around us, perfection is not attainable... to err is human, to forgive, divine.

Yee without error cast the first eraser!

Problem is, we don't get what the koreans get... we get this irritating mish mash of updates and "regional changes" that they don't get.

And 3-4 weeks for a PTS that isn't a complete mess is fine if Korea is basically committed to crushing the bugs as soon as identified... which isn't going to happen, but that's a different issue.

But the problem here is that you could identify those issues 3-4 weeks before it goes live, and then they may or may not be fixed, but they have 3-4 weeks of time to work on them. Then they would be marked as "known issues" before going live... as opposed to it going live, and "surprise, stuff that was said to be one way is not".

i beg to differ. i remember the last real PTS we had before interlude launch and most errors and bugs where identified within the first week. the results where so overwhelming that the GM's didnt have time to answer within two weeks.
if i remember right, the true reason we dont have a PTS is that we now are getting the game updates with delay and there (according to korean devs) shouldnt be anymore bugs. unfortunately they dont send us the unbugged versions.
Looking for a game without any bug.

Go on OP, I am sure you know one :D

There isn't, however speedy fixes can be found.
League of Legends. Riot hotfixes bugs the moment it pops up. They keep the servers up too.

Also to support Laby's point, this is a nine year old game with very little support from the Korean Official (which does all the bug fixes and hot patches). Don't expect any changes.

I dunno how big the korean team is, but it is a serious lack of professionalism to overlook the bugs the way they do. With each update, you see how they bring more and more features, yet making old ones useless instead of upgrading them (and that's what drove so many people away from game), with this rush on releasing content, they overlook a ton of bugs and take years to fix them even tho we scream over and over the bugs are here.

It is very hard to keep an open mind with these people, they will simply ignore us, and choose -instead- to shoot in the dark and bring more unnecessary bugs.
