I was testing and found that pets do not get experience when we conclude a mission, they receive only when we kill monsters.
However, to evolve until level 40, we use only missions.
Thus, even if we acquire a wolf at level 15 when you reach level 40, doing missions, it will be maximum at level 20 and will be too weak to be evolved in the same places we do.
So, if we want a wolf evolve along with us, we can not evolve doing quests, killing monsters should evolve only to the wolf can reach us.
In my opinion, this is wrong.
The pet should receive half of the whole experience for us to be able to always be fighting on our side.

To be honest I wouldn't bother simply because the pets are outdated anyways. They have no armor that is appropriate once you awaken to survive with you. Pets generally become an annoyance because they are useless and were never updated beyond lvl 80

Hate to knock you down on them, they are neat,but I've never needed them after GoD and mentors. The gear you get for them needs to be upgraded majorly for them to be functional 85+, I have a fenrir over 85 and it's collecting dust in my WH because if I take it out anywhere I go it won't survive.
